Auberge le Cantou

Went there to have lunch yesterday. I suggest you avoid it. Reasons being: Ordered three different whiskys, didn't have any of them, even though they were written on the drinks list, then I ordered a starter which was on the menu, they didn't have that either. At least the coffee was delicious. Not their fault, but invaded by flies

Delicious local food served with generous quantities and alongside a good wine selection. Servers are friendly but the service needs to be a bit faster and more organized.

Quite happy with my stay here, both the hotel part and the restaurant. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Forgot a hard drive but was promptly helped by the owner. The drive is back home again, thank you very much. The restaurant is cost and the food is very nice. The menu isn't massive but well balanced and, most importantly, we'll cooked. Would suggest a widening of the beer choice the local brewers are quite good. Also some music or something to liven up the place would be nice. Overall judgements though: great place.

We booked this hotel because we valued a smaller town atmosphere than Mont-Dore or Saint Nectaire.We had a great stay. We were given the disabled room which is accessed by a beautiful courtyard at the rear of the property. It was wonderfully quiet at night and the room was huge, clean and comfortable. The only downside was the wifi was a little weak, due to the proximity to the reception.||||The receptionist was also friendly and welcoming, and they were very understanding when we had to dash in the middle of the night due to an emergency! (Note reception is not 24 hour). ||||Orcival is a lovely little town, with only a few amenities but is lovely and peaceful spot.

Orcival is a beautiful village and the area is perfect for trecking. The hotel is comfortable, small but correctly arranged rooms, clean bed linen and towels, comfortable bed. Wi-Fi is a disaster, it's better to go for a walk. 😀

The style of the rooms is a bit more on the hostel side than hotel but they have everything necessary and they are clean. The bathroom is also well equipped and quite modern. We were lucky to have a room with beautiful views on the Basilique and a little balcony, which made our stay quite remarkable.

What a gem. Very friendly service to welcome us! We went for the evening menu which had 4 courses. Every course was incredible! Best food this week so far.

We really enjoyed our stay at this small hotel. Our room was perfect- comfortable bed and nice bathroom with a balcony looking onto the church. Both dinner and breakfast were exceptionally good and good value too.

Delicious food (local to Auvergne - such as the wonderful Aligot), and a very welcoming staff. The village is most picturesque too.
