We stayed one night to enjoy the fall colours in the area. The town and lake are very pretty and Augerge Le Coeur d'Or is a good choice to stay in the area. The rooms were cute and comfortable - mattress firm. Personally I prefer a little softer. The included breakfast was excellent with two courses of fruit and egg. We also chose to have the set dinner menu with our group of 4 and it was wonderful - good selection and cooked to perfection. Portions perhaps a little small for some, but with 5 courses we were well fed! It was a bonus to be able to bring our own wine. A really lovely experience.

Loved staying here. Room was very clean and comfortable.|We had access to a small terrace from our room which was very welcome. What made this exceptional was the breakfast.|Although there was no choice, what was served was faultless.|Fresh orange juice followed by a fruit starter and then the main breakfast. Host was very friendly and I even bought some of her lovely homemade jam to take away.|Highly recommend it.

We had tickets for a show in the Piggery later in the evening, and mentioned the fact when we made the reservation. We were advised to arrive as soon as the restaurant opened for dinner. We did as suggested and were greeted very cordially. True to their word, the staff made every effort to provide us with excellent service and at the same time enable us to leave in good time to see the show. Although I do speak some French, I am rather deaf, so having service in my own language makes things much easier for me. To avoid complication and thus delay we chose the prix-fixe menu and I selected the extra price steak option. There's a very fine artisan at work in that kitchen. The menu changes, so there is little point in listing what we had were served, but everything was quite delicious, the service was efficient and charmingly polite, the presentation of the plates was as accomplished as we have seen in restaurants which charge twice the price. For those who take wine, one can supply one's own choice.||Now we live locally, we plan to visit this restaurant very regularly.

The room we had was small and possibly a but stuffy. I find you can judge a hotel by its bathroom, and in this case the fittings and shower are in excellent shape.||Breakfast is included and served in an extension to the main (old) house and it's both filling and well-chosen: half a crepe, fruit, fresh oj, eggs, toast and coffee. Easily the best B&B breakfast I have ever had. Kudos!||The hotel location is conveniently close to the pier and shops.

Fifteen of us were placed in an awkward "last supper" formation. The preparation (and presentation) of our meals was very good. Great for foodies who like to take pictures of what they're about to consume (??). A moment on the lips . . . a lifetime as pics, I guess. The cuisine was tasty but servings were teeny. Our waitresses were quite competent but their coolness did not compensate for the lack of much needed air conditioning. The aloof, downright cold approach of the owner still couldn't cope with the green house effect that evening. Two under-powered floor fans just don't cut it for a dining room of that size. All things considered, even with the "bring your own wine" feature, the cost of our meal was exaggerated.

GREAT & NOT SO GREAT GREAT: Well situated in downtown North Hatley, l' Auberge Le Coeur d'Or has been in business for a long time. The owners, Carole and Dominique, are a couple of seniors who take good care of their guests and of their property. Our bedroom, the Oeillet, was very large. It was impecably clean and fresh as were the bed sheets and towels. The common room was quiet, luminous and vast. The breakfast was really great with fresh orange juice and good coffee and a unique 2 services meal. First homemade crepes and fruits folllowed by "oeuf à la coque" with a sausage and a good piece of a fabulous cheddar from Megantic. The Auberge also showed paintings by Helene Cliche offered for sales. Some beautiful ones on the walls. Unfortunately the one I fell in love with was marked SOLD 😞. NOT SO GREAT: The shower was very tiny and old, reminded me of the ones you find in old Paris, FR hotels. Also the deco could use an uplift. Not to change the atmosphere of the place, which should absolutely retain the "Antiques" feeling, but to the colors, paints, wallpapers and bed covers. OVERALL: With the fabulous breakfast for two included, it was totally worth the price at $140 par night for our room and board. NOTE: The owners used to also offer dining but have closed off that part of the business in the Fall of 2019. They have tried many times to remove this info from what is online but have not been able to.

We held a reception and dinner here with our family. Service was excellent, the food was amazing, and they offered us a room because we reserved the entire restaurant. Really great spot. Thank goodness the top floor where the room are is air conditioned. Overall an excellent stay. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re visiting North Hatley.

Gently sliding down the hill towards the lake (not really, but its old enough it has a distinct slope in some corners) is this small Augerge. A short steep staircase to six small rooms, some with ensuite bath, some shared toilets. Good food choices at night, and a simple hearty breakfast. Good value for money in a lovely small village near Sherbrooke and Magog.

Yelp
This place is a gem from the perspective of dining. With a French-born Chef this should come as no surprise. Reservations are required for the Restaurant with specific days and times as to when it is open. Apparently the menu changes week by week but a few mainstay courses seem to remain. Service is excellent and attentive. By all accounts each main course is prepared to order. Bring your own wine feature adds to this been a relatively inexpensive gourmet treat. No pictures as we were so focussed and distracted by the appetizing and perfectly presented food. This is a must visit place to go if in the area.
