Auberge Les Bons Martins is a must stay experience when you are in Montreal. The location is fantastic whether walking or taking the Metro, and just a short Uber to wherever else you want to go. The hotel itself is just gorgeous, so quaint, and even better than we were expecting. The room was absolutely beautiful, well equiped and an extremely comfortable bed. As the rooms are all in old terrace houses, there was a "little" bit of noise from the house itself but certainly nothing that would detract from our stay.

Was looking for "a little French Inn" experience and found it here. A quiet retreat on the edge of a newly renovated upscale neighborhood. Each room is unique! Designed with charm, bright colors, funky furnishings, and total privacy. The breakfast is not to be missed! The staff immediately made us feel at home, and went out of their way to be caring and helpful. A quiet, charming inn with great character!

The room was super comfortable with nice decoration and furniture, completely different from the typical hotel rooms. The hotel is located within 1 minute's walk from the metro station. I have to admit that the sound proof is poor. But overall, I was extremely satisfied with my stay and I will definitely use the hotel in my next stay.

Google
Has a lot of character just steps from the nearest metro station. The check-in was easy and the whole stay felt very human! I loved the art, the jacuzzi in the room, and the overall comfort. It will be my preferred place to stay in Montreal going forward.

It's definetly a hostel and not a 4 star hotel so keep that in mind. The reception is next door and does not operate late, I checked in myself at 8pm. The room I was staying at had cobwebs, and a spider in the washroom corner, so they could do better cleaning. There's no elevator so youll have to walk at most 2 fleets of stairs. The room was spacious and cozy, but it still had a bit of an old house vibes. Super close to the orange line!

We have stayed here often in the course of 20 odd years. Our trip this time was very different. Rooms fine, location fine, service fine. But while our car was parked in their designated parking area, it was stolen. In reporting it to the inn management and to the police we were told that car theft is a big problem in Montreal and that just last week another car was stolen on that same block. If you are planning to have a vehicle with you and staying here BEWARE. I do not recommend it !!!!!

Google
The hotel is a 15min walk from the central train station (VIA trains), and a 1min walk from the Lucien L'Allier Metro stop, making it super convenient to get around without needing a car. The rooms are decorated with fun, vibrant decor, and housekeeping came daily, so everything was very clean. The bed was very comfortable, and my room had a jet tub, which was awesome! Would absolutely stay here again if I'm ever in Montreal again.

Google
The room is absolutely incredible and unique, the decoration and the amenities like the jacuzzi bathtub that sits infront of the fire (which we didn't use) and TV was a novelty and we found it a relaxing space. 502 was on the basement level so we had the whole floor to ourselves and with a microwave and kitchen utensils it meant that we could buy groceries and make food to take out and about with us for lunches.||The staff were excellent and accommodating by storing our luggage before check-in and taking them to our room while we were out.||The location is perfect! Within 20 minute walk to the main centre and 1 minute from a metro station so getting around is very easy!

Yelp
This is one of those places that has some great points, but definitely isn't for everyone. If you have mobility issues or a large vehicle and need parking, this is not the place for you. It is an old set of residences that have been converted into a B & B. I have a Jetta, so I could get in and out fairly easily, but I wouldn't be sure of anything much larger than that. Also, whether from the street side or the parking lot side, you're going to have a hard time getting around with a large suitcase. And if you yourself are larger than average (even if you are simply tall), the bathroom may also be a struggle, as it is really smushed into a small space. All that being said, it is a beautiful building and you can't beat the location. It is right by a subway station and in easy walking distance to Bell Centre. I felt perfectly safe walking back after the Hab's game. And leaving was pretty convenient too, as it is really close to a highway ramp.

Yelp
This was the worst experience my family ever had. My family had their car stolen from this place's private parking lot. Police were helpful and stated that this is a common event. Owner did nothing to help and was rude and incredibly unprofessional, hanging up on my family when there were simply asking for help. With known car thefts from their own lot, they have no cameras installed and take no responsibility. Not a place we will ever use again and I'm providing this as a warning to anyone thinking of staying here.

Yelp
The rooms are ok. Funky decor and artwork. Comfy beds and duvets. Self serve kitchens for guests. Good breakfast. Free coffee.

Yelp
What a lovely place to stay, nestled a short distance from all the action in downtown Montreal! This was our first big trip with our little one, and the capability to walk everywhere, paired with the affordable parking and relative quiet of the back patio, the stay was perfect for us. If/when we need another getaway, we will surely try to set up shop here...maybe in a suite with a spa tub!

Mariani D.

Yelp
Since hockey season has just started, look no further hockey fans! This is literally a 2 minute walk to the Bell Center where the Montreal Canadiens play. You're probably thinking, wait a minute, won't it be noisy and full of drunks then? Nope. It's in a quiet, residential street with row houses. There are street parkings, but we were able to find a spot in the back behind our patio. From there, we never moved our car until we had to leave Montreal. There is a metro station a minute walk from there that we used only once. This place is so ideally located in the heart of the city with plenty of restaurants, cafes, food market, bars, and nightclubs. They have different types of rooms and suites, so it all depends on your budget and how much you want to impress your lady (or man). We stayed in the Family Suite 605, plenty of room for my husband and I. What a treat it was. Beautiful canopy bed, a huge bathroom with a whirlpool and a shower, a big couch that can turn into a big bed, a little kitchenette to store some champagnes, and our own patio. I really wish there was a 10-star option because this place is certainly way above 5 stars. Once in a great while, you count your lucky stars for finding such a fantastic B&B where the place actually is more beautiful than the pictures shown on their site. Petite Auberge exceeded all of our expectations with their service, accessibility, delicious home-made breakfasts, and the beautiful suite we had the pleasure of staying in. So I know how much importance is placed on Airbnb nowadays, and I am guilty of that too. Needless to say, I'm so glad we actually stayed here instead. Can't wait to do another long weekend in Montreal!

Yelp
What a Gem This small but perfect little place, does exist. Ok so you think big city Montreal, you think I'm trapped at some hotel? Think again, this little B&B is a slice of heaven. From the friendly staff to the feeling of staying at a family home tucked into downtown Montreal, (walking distance to streets of restaurants and shopping) the furniture and the European styled rooms, makes me feel of my childhood in Europe. Spending winters in the city and summers in the country this mix of modern and old within the rooms and courtyard like parking area was like reminiscing for me. Quaint and quiet yet climate controlled with all the amenities you would expect, including jetted tubs. The breakfast is not overlooked either, just perfect toast and Spanish omelette or eggs Benedict runny to perfection. If staying in Montreal choose this hidden gem. Happy Travels ;)

Yelp
The lovely ladies at Petite Auberge Les Bons Matins prepared the most amazing breakfast. Chef Esperanza, Lena, Azemine, and Gladys seamlessly worked together. There was incredible attention to detail. Bread is self-serve and you can choose the type of bread that you like and toast it yourself. They start you with orange juice and coffee plus an "appetizer" which can be either waffle or French toast, cinnamon or plain. The menu consists of five different offerings. We chose number one which is seasonal fruit with two eggs and a generous serving of bacon. The rooms are a colorful and eclectic mix of hot tubs, beds, and furnishings which all of the others pictures show quite well in yelp. The ambient temperature was comfortable. It seems you cannot self regulate the temperature within your room, but for us, this did not present a problem. (I was glad that we brought a small fan.) We were on the top floor, and therefore had to climb two flights of a tiny spiral staircase to get to our room. But this is to be expected in an old building. (Sam actually carried our luggage up the stairs, my hero!!) I highly recommend this bed-and-breakfast. Functionally it is difficult to navigate the stairs etc. but the staff is incredible friendly helpful can't do enough for you and our room had a comfortable bed. See Photos...

Yelp
Stayed for 3 days in the family suite (706) and loved it. It was clean and spacious, esp loved the whirlpool tub after a long day of walking. It was close to the subway and restaurants and shops. The breakfast was really good. And the employees were nice and helpful. Also liked having access to the shared kitchen right outside our door.

Yelp
I stayed here in the townhouse (A8) twice on two separate occasions during the cold winter months with a group of friends for sole purpose of bachelor parties. Fortunately we didn't damage anything. The good: + This place is a wonderful bed and breakfast, with property spanning the block. The townhouse is really pimp and excellent for a meeting ground. See photos. + Guests are allowed a beverage from the main concierge. Sadly I chose to drink port. + The members of the concierge are attractive and speak English. The ladies provided us with great suggestions for dinner and social activities besides the skeevy nightlife. + For US residents, remember to file the Canadian tax forms to receive a mail in rebate after your stay. The bad: - The other rooms are small and the walls are thin. The ugly: -- Waking up hungover, running to grab breakfast in your pjs... IFHTP 2

Yelp
Pros: The front desk staff here are all super friendly - they're always smiling, always helpful, and do as much as they possibly can to make sure you're happy with your stay. The location is great! The immediate area is okay, but if you walk a bit up the hill to Rue St. Catherine you'll see a bustling, hip area. If you walk even further up to Sherbrooke, you'll start seeing the McGill area where there are plenty of students. And the best part is that you're a block away from the subway, which is great great great. Note: You can only purchase subway tickets with CAD or Canadian credit cards, no international credit cards. The subway is very, very convenient and for a 24-hour pass for $8CAD, it's quite a great way to travel around! You get free cookies (though they seem to be out of the bag Chips Ahoy chocolate chip cookies), one free soda, and one free alcoholic drink per day based on the honor system. The furnishings and everything about the B&B is charming. Maybe it's just the Montreal air but it felt cozy, friendly, and homey - definitely some place I'd like to return to for any reason possible. The parking here is easy. We came on a Friday afternoon and parked right out front, a house or two down and we were able to leave the car there for free the entire weekend with no problems. They do have parking restrictions but from the French I could remember from high school, we were well within the time frames. Free wifi! They also have two computers you can use in the lobby if you didn't bring your own laptops. The temperature of the B&B was kept at a comfortable and cool level, making the stay even better - just fyi, there aren't individual air conditioners or heaters in the rooms, for those who need it. Cons: The breakfast was a bit disappointing. I'm not sure where the three-course breakfasts were but we did receive a piece of french toast or waffle and then you get your egg dish. It was okay but it wasn't mind-blowing. Although this is admittedly much, much better than many a Continental breakfast I've had. I guess I was just expecting too much, which in the end may not be their fault! Although the design of the entire place was charming, the place was a bit dated. You could see holes in the wall, quickly patched with mud. The mattresses were thin, not plush, and the comforters weren't comfortable. The walls and doors are pretty thin. We slept in Room 504, so we were expecting some noise overhead with people walking around in the lobby, but we could hear conversations taking place in the lobby quite clearly. Would I come again? Certainly! For $150CAD/night it isn't a steal or a bargain but it's for sure reasonably priced for all its pros. Yay Les Bons Matins and Montreal - love the city!

Yelp
LOVED this place! It's one of my favorite lodgings I've been to of everywhere I've traveled. It's a cute B&B in the middle of downtown and a few short blocks away from Bell Centre. I stayed in room 503. It was downstairs and faced the back of the building. Best if you don't come with a huge suitcase or bag, as you'll have to get it down the winding, but wide-ish, stairs by yourself. The room was super cute, comfortable and nicely decorated. You can control the heat in the room and the bathroom on a thermostat, which was excellent when I stayed because it was below-zero Fahrenheit every day I was there. The bathroom had a nice huge jetted tub, which I happily used. There was a super tiny shower though. I could barely move around in the shower without brushing up against the wall or shower curtain. If you are a person of more than average-size, you will not like the size of the shower. They were very accommodating when I said I was gluten-free. They had GF bread (nothing fancy, probably just frozen Udi's), and they brought me two slices, microwaved to defrost and then I was able to toast them to eat with honey. They also made me a nice plate of many different fruits with breakfast. Everyone was very friendly and were great about helping me with my French. At the corner of the block is the orange line Lucien-L'Allier stop, so very convenient to get around. A few blocks away are many restaurants and shops. I'd absolutely stay here again when I return to Montreal.

Yelp
Such a cute little B&B. We usually stay at hotels but decided to try this place out seeing the good reviews. We were not disappointed! When we arrived we were given two keys - 1 for the room and 1 for the actual building because the reception closes at 8pm. No problem at all.. really doesn't matter to us! 1. Room - as soon as we came in, the room smelled great, like fresh laundry! Everything was stocked - towels, extra sheets and pillows, shampoo conditioners etc. The place was clean and had a homey comfortable feel to it. I am usually picky with how clean places are but I didnt see much I can complain about! I mean I saw like one cobweb but the pros beat this. The washroom was well kept and smelled like it has been cleaned properly. The bed and sheets were also very comfortable to sleep in. 2. The Breakfast - probably the best part of my weekend! The two breakfasts we had were great. This is no buffet like your regular hotel breakfast. You order and they make it for you - omelettes, eggs benedict, bacon, etc. They ask if you want waffles or french toast to start (we tried the french toast both mornings, plus extra orders because it was just TOO good....with passion fruit cream sauce on the side....Drools!). They also serve fresh fruit, extra toast with butter, cheese, PB, cereals, coffee, etc. I also can't forget the ladies in the kitchen, they were just super sweet and so welcoming :) 3. Location - I can throw a rock at the metro station! Which is a super plus for us! Getting around Montreal was so much easier with this B&B being in the heart of downtown and so close to the station. 4. Small cons - our room (503) was right below the kitchen so we heard footsteps and quiet thumps in the morning as the ladies were cooking breakfast. It really doesn't make a difference for us because we are heavy sleepers anyway, but worth mentioning! Maybe request a room upstairs or something if you're a lighter sleeper (there's only 14 rooms I believe?). Also the walls are kind of thin but it's expected with an older building! I would definitely recommend this B&B and will be staying again. I would come back with my husband but probably not with my toddler until he's a bit older, so we don't disrupt anyone! But honestly. The place is great the way it is. Thanks Auberge for an awesome anniversary trip for my Husband and I!!!

Yelp
At risk of encouraging others to stay here potentially creating an environment for "No Vacancy", this B&B deserves a phenomenal review! I've always hated the concept of a B&B but this one feels more like a hotel with the comforts of home. The rooms are beautiful, the staff is helpful and friendly, clean, comfortable, and quaint. This feels like a boutique hotel in my opinion. I stayed in one of their more basic rooms but was impressed! I loved the raised bathroom and the French doors adjoining both rooms. Subtle and soft sunlight comes through the bathroom window in the morning. I couldn't have asked for a better wake-up call. Although lacking amenities like a gym and a full-service restaurant, it didn't at all deter from the experience. The price was unbelievable for a location right downtown. You're minutes away from phenomenal restaurants and minutes away from fitness facilities. Thank you for a wonderful stay! When I'm not relegated to the Westin or Sheraton with a group booking from work, you can rest assured your property will be my first and only choice for my Montreal visits. Even if the high-end hotels could beat your price, I would still insist on staying at Petit Auberge.

Stephanie M.

Yelp
Absolutely love it here! Had a room with jacuzzi and fire place! Also near everything: the bell center, crescent, Baton Rouge.

Yelp
Listen. I am not in the market for Bed & Breakfasts. In fact, Bon Matins is the first of its kind I've ever stayed in. I've been all across Europe via hostels. I've stayed in luxury hotels via Priceline. And I've even put my money down for budget motels (you're welcome, Jersey Shore prom). But when I say Bon Matins is legit, I mean it. If you're planning a trip to Montreal with your girlfriend, main squeeze, Canadian hooker, or buddy you're trying to eek beyond the friend zone, this is your place. The staff couldn't be nicer. In fact, not only did the woman behind the desk tolerate my hipster demands for a venue that offered Arcade Fire-like acts, but her coworker accepted a twenty-page faxed lease so I could sign on a place in Hoboken while my friends apartment-hunted. At no charge, mind you. The location is within walking distance of everything we could ask for. Our room was as cute as a button. And any American watching TV in Quebec has to accept the positive news programs put forth here. I'm talkin' firefighters rescuing cats in trees kind of shit. And I hate cats. I used to think my girlfriend made the the perfect omelet. Just wait until you sit down for breakfast, personally overseen by the owner himself. I can't say enough about the establishment in question. I even got a parking ticket that was deducted from my stay. Go to the lobby before you hit the town. The booze in the kitchen is complimentary. Next time I venture North, my accommodations are already spoken for. I love Bon Matins and so should you.

Yelp
I stayed here last summer for a few days with my travel buddy/main squeeze and had a great time. It's a small B&B nestled on a quiet tree lined, residential street not too far from downtown. It isn't exactly a party pad but it's great if you want a cozy, serene place to hang out and watch Quebecois TV and cuddle after crazee Montreal times, then this is it. What's great about this place is that they have different price levels of rooms so you can go for the budget (around $109 CAD!) or for something with more room and amenities (still, not too bad for around $199 CAD). We stayed in a budget room and it was homey and very clean. If you hate minimalist trendy decor, then you will probably like this place, it's very down to earth. Our bathroom was outside the room but we had exclusive use of it. The higher priced options have their own internal bathrooms and I think some have kitchens. The breakfast was good! It's served in the building right next to the sleeping rooms and it's a real spread - all imaginable breakfast options. You can serve yourself from the buffet and staff also come around and tempt you with such things as crepes and pastries. I really like how they have this set up because I've done the whole "entire B&B sits and eats together" and it's lame to me. You can come in during the window you reserve, sit at your own table, and pick what you want. The desk staff are efficient but nice, we didn't have to interact with them too much. We had no issues with parking as we were there over a weekend and found a place on the street. I believe they do have other parking arrangements if you need a place to stow the car during the week. There's a metro station right down the street too! Pretty much perfect.

Yelp
Les Bons Matins is a wonderful bed and breakfast with lush bedrooms and bathrooms. Graciousness, peace, and tranquility ooze from every corner. Cookies are readily available in the lobby any time of day. Free soft drinks whenever you wish. AND if you care for a some port as a night cap, you certainly may do so at their dime. I LOVE QUEBEC. My friends and I rented a lovely charming townhouse (just down the street from the bed and breakfast). The rooms are full of charm and quaint little details (like a painted vase of flowers in the bathroom). It was very cheap and affordable, as the four of us, each had our own bedrooms, for three nights spent less than $300. What impressed me the most was that the kitchen was fully equipped with proper plates, silverware, and glasses, and not the cheap plastic because they're afraid you're going to steal stuff. The dining room had a lovely large wooden table and chairs that would have been a fantastic place to have a dinner party. There was also wifi available. Not to mention, the house also came with a couple lovely outdoor patios. If the nights had been warmer, we would have loved to have sat out and enjoyed ourselves. The quality of service at the Les Bons Matins was superior. The people working the front desk did everything to make us very very happy. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you're looking for a wonderful, reasonably priced place to stay, Les Bons Matins is it. it's half a block away from the Lucien d'Alier station, just a few stops away from Old Montreal. The 747 Express bus stop (at Rue de la Montagne) is a few blocks away making it very convenient when you're coming to or from the airport.

Yelp
Originally written and posted on a duplicate profile on 3/4/2011: A wonderful B&B that we found online and got a great deal on. The 3-course breakfast and coffee was excellent and served in a cozy dining room. The honor bar in the main house was wonderful with s glass of free port, soft drinks, coffee, tea, and cookies readily available. We got bumped up from economy and had a stunning room. My husband and I were quite happy. Update: Every time we come up to Montreal for an overnight trip, we stay here. This B&B is consistent and cozy.

Yelp
A fantastic place to stay for our romantic getaway in Montreal. Close to transportation and the charming old town, but near enough to the airport, etc. Bright, beautiful rooms are charming and romantic. Our suite included a whirlpool tub that saw ample use as well. All staff were cheerful and helpful, and all spoke excellent English, which was a relief for my wife who is nervous about her French. Breakfast was rich and tasty, with choices for eggs, french toast, and waffles. A must-return accommodation!

Cassie D.

Yelp
I originally found this place doing an internet search on "Honeymoon in Montreal". This place was mentioned as an affordable, yet romantic option. I cross referenced with the Yelp reviews here and I was sold. The location is great, it's walking distance to a ton of restaurants, high end shopping, and also a half a block from Montreal's metro (Which can get you anywhere in the city). We took the Metro the entire time we were there, parked our car in front of the B and B and never moved it. Car was safe and parking was free. We stayed in a lower suite with a whirlpool tub in the living room. It was fabulous. I sat in that tub after a long day of exploring the city, sipping wine. My husband read me restaurant ideas for the next day and I was in heaven. The water even got hot, people. That is amazing. So many times you go somewhere and get a good tub room and the water is barely warm! The breakfast in the morning is great. Cooked to order omlettes, benedicts, waffles. You get fruit, pancakes or french toast to start. Orange juice and coffee. There is even more food on a little buffet style bar! The staff were nice. When we first got there it was a little odd because the front desk person had stepped away to help another visitor. We stood awkwardly for about 10 minutes before he came back, I admittedly had a moment of panic. But, it all worked out and my patience was rewarded. It's a little hard to find, you have to really look for the sign as it's nestled in among the row houses. We circled once and had to come back. All that work to find it and check in was definitely worth it.

Yelp
This was my first stay at a bed and breakfast, and now I'm afraid it's set too high of a standard when I visit other ones in the future. My group of four--my boyfriend, his friend, my friend, and myself walked into the check-in area and were pleasantly surprised. We realized that I had picked a B&B in downtown Montreal and blocks away from entertainment and food. It was also right down the street from the Metro. The owner of the hotel had a slight accent (to us) but knew English and was able to settle us in while giving us a map and told my group about what streets were best for shopping, drinking, & eating. The room we had was located in a different house from where we checked in. Our "Family Suite" had two beds and a pull-out sofa and all three were surprisingly comfy! The decor was somewhat eclectic but still gave off a homey vibe. Our kitchen was equipped with some pans, a glass stove, wine glasses, a toaster, and a fridge. We had a patio that led to the B&B's parking lot. I also LOVED the fact that we had our own hot tub in the bathroom; my boyfriend and I probably sat in it every day of our stay before starting our daily itinerary! The staff was incredibly nice, especially Lina who showed us to our room, told us about our parking options, and would serve us breakfast on some mornings. She had a lovely smile and I felt very at home with the staff. Also shout out to the owner. He's full of useful information so don't be afraid to ask him anything! I had twisted my ankle on NY at a bar (lol) and told us that I should just go to the pharmacy down the street and wrap my ankle instead of going to the hospital as the wait times would be too long and not worth it! He even gave me a few bags of ice. The breakfast was delicious, as your order is cooked fresh. Your menu options include an appetizer of waffles and French toast, variations of cooked eggs, self-served bagels and bread, sausage, and bacon. On New Year's Day, we were served mimosas and every day, we'd have Bailey's in our coffee. It's the small details like this that make me think fondly of the trip and I've already decided that next time I come back to Montreal, I'm staying here.

Yelp
Who goes to Montreal in the winter? Yeah, we said that over and over again, especially with negative 27 Centigrade weather. Well we do, and after staying here we were glad we did. From the beginning this was a great place, we asked what to do at the front desk and where invited to a shin dig to show off the new "Inn Between" get up they have going on.....Awesome... Also they gave us some off the cuff places to check out that turned out to be fantastic. They are literally a half block from a train stop and a small walk from the underground mall, so getting around Montreal is easy. Our room was better than advertised, though the tub was a tad smaller than we had planned. Fire place rocked, bed was comfy and the back deck, covered in snow, was perfect to chill the wine. We were on the top floor so no noise from other people. Breakfast was scrumdiddly-umpcious and served with a smile, Harold, the owner, even was serving the last day we were there. All of this for barely 150 a night?? Overall, hell yes I would recommend you stay here, hell yes they were all fantastic people, and hell yes there were ohhhhhhhh so close to 5 stars If I could give them a 4.7645 I would.

Dan S.

Yelp
We couldn't believe how great this place was. From the amazing front desk guy to the stunning, remarkably spacious room to the patience with our two-year-old to their flexibility in allowing us to check out early due to aforementioned two-year-old. Breaking it down: The room was fantastic. Decorations were so thoughtful. We photographed it and said - we need to decorate like this. The breakfast was great. It was a true American (Canadian?) breakfast - eggs, toast, meat (if you're into that sort of thing). They brought it to your room if you wanted and if you offered a tip, they seemed surprised! Alexandre at the front desk was gracious, understanding and helpful. We couldn't have asked for better service at the Mandarin or Four Seasons. The parking situation was ideal, with a spot reserved right behind the hotel for about $10 a night. My only very minor gripe - the street it abuts is a little shabby, but if you walk an extra hundred feet or so, you're in the heart of Montreal's shopping and nightlife. Not that we got to enjoy either .... aforementioned two-year-old.

Yelp
4.5 stars is really what I want to rate! It was great staying there! The Staff was awesome! Checking in was a breeze! The breakfast was tasty, the girls in the kitchen and serving were attentive and super friendly and welcoming! The room was clean, the decor super cute and colorful, the bed was comfy and we had a good nights rest. The proximity to the metro was outstanding. The only reason I am giving it a 4.5 out of 5 was because it was all stairs. So if you are an older person, or have a disability it's difficult to get yourself and your luggage to your room. Otherwise, this is the place to stay! It's in downtown, close to restaurants and transportation! Getting to old Montreal was a breeze on the metro. P.S. The price was extremely reasonable! One of my friends got the suite and it was HUGE! Well worth the cost! I highly recommend!

Yelp
It is a short walk to food and shopping and a short drive to other Montreal attractions. We arrived shortly after 6pm and check in was an envelope in a mailbox as the main part was closed. Directions to our room were misleading because it was listed in the wrong house. Checking out late Sunday morning, the front desk wasn't open yet and it was after 10am. Four days later they call us about an issue with our card which could have been resolved with a real person at checkout... Two attempts (at different times of day) to call and settle up our bill, have gone right to voice mail, with no return call. Still it has a wonderful atmosphere at a very good price. Will cautiously recommend to friends.

Yelp
This place is listed on here 3 times - as this one had the most reviews, I decided to post here. I LOVE B&Bs that don't feel like B&Bs. The traditional B&Bs are run out of someone's house - meaning shared bathroom and awkwardness in mingling with people you have no desire to be BFFs with. Auberge Les Bons Matins feels more like a hip hotel than a B&B. We fell in love with it immediately. First off, the fellow at the desk was really friendly and helped us hunt for parking, as that was unsuccessful, we opted to "cough up" the $11 CAD and park in the little lot out behind. The sarcasm is that parking in Montreal is EXPENSIVE and we easily paid $40 elsewhere on a previous trip. So this was worth it - not only was the price right but it was gorgeous back there and I'm sure our car was happy with the scenery. It truly felt like we were in the suburbs and not downtown Montreal. We had a beautiful room - stayed in Suite 705. Super clean and beautifully decorated. The trains did start rumbling in the morning at about 6 am but we were not far from waking up anyway so it was not a big deal. My only gripes about the room were this - 1) the toilet was on the other side of a glass door with a sheer white curtain. We're not really into having a 'shared' bathroom experience so opted to leave the room if the other was in it. That might just be us. 2) VERY creaky bed!!!! Forget relations - I think the whole building would have heard. The mattress wasn't a good quality one either - I'm not fussy but this one was definitely on the low end. The location is amazing - only a couple of blocks to bustling St Catherine Street and I could literally throw a rock and hit the metro. This proved really handy - we left our car and simply hopped the metro to the show and dinner we planned for that night. Breakfast was wonderful and quite friendly. Best dang waffle I think I have ever had... All in all, this place is a gem and perfect for couples! Highly recommend it for your next trip to Montreal!

Niiiiiiice B&B. Location is conveniently next to metro station and just nice classic house. My kids loved it also.

Yelp
This b& b is one of the best I have had the privilege of staying in. The breakfasts were wonderful and the room superior. I left some shirts in the closet and they dealt wth sending them to me the same day! It doesn't get better than that I'll be back!! Dawn Cameron Victoria , B.C. Yelp
My husband and I decided to stay here after seeing its great reviews - and we have become huge fans! This place is GORGEOUS and spotlessly clean. We barely wanted to leave the room. Lovely colors, beautiful tile, comfy bed - and a jacuzzi, which we hadn't expected! The service is STELLAR - friendly, attentive, plus you get a DELICIOUS full breakfast. In addition to the maple syrup (real, naturally), they also had a passion fruit jam for the French toast, which was exquisite. The hotel is also very convenient to St. Catherine's, the Bell Center, and the metro. Worth so much more than they charge you!

Yelp
We fell in love with this place from the minute we arrived. The colors, the decor, the cozy rooms, the art on the walls were all captivating and inviting. We spent 4 night at L'auberge and we felt we were staying at our apartment in Montreal. We also loved the scrumptious and delicious breakfasts. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. If we go back to Montreal we couldn't stay anywhere else. This place is lovely and memorable. We highly recommend it.

Yelp
The room was lovely but it was on the third floor and we are seniors. When you book check first to see the room location. The location is wonderful if you like to use public transportation when visiting a city. The three Day Pass is very reasonable for unlimited travel and the metro is less than half a block away. The people who work there are great. The young man checking us in helped to carry our bags up to our room. The women who make and serve breakfast do a wonderful job and there is enough variety that you can have something different every day. And the food is really good too. The only problem is that if you want toast with your breakfast you had better put it in the toaster when you order or it won't be ready in time. That is my only complaint.

Yelp
My husband and I spent the first three nights of our honeymoon here and are so so sorry that we did not book our accomodations here for the last part of our trip, too! We had no idea that it was literally across the street from the metro station or a 7-10 minute walk from Dorchester Square, the center of Montreal. You are 2-3 blocks down from St. Catherine Street with more stores and shopping opportunities than your wallet can handle, an endless supply of wonderful dining (any type of food and any style of dining, from fine to casual to fast food) and various activity and entertainment opportunities. The staff at Les Bons Matins were so kind, friendly and helpful. Alex and his crew are top notch and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The room (804) was gorgeous! We were on the third floor and enjoyed the beautiful, bright colors decorating our bed and bath. The jacuzzi is great and you also have wifi available. Our breakfasts were delicious! Such great french toast, waffles and any kind of eggs or omelets you can scheme up. I particularly loved the variety of sliced, fresh fruit that accompanied our breakfasts each morning. We truly cannot say enough great things about the location, service, quality of the rooms/breakfasts and the price. It is simply unbeatable and we are definitely staying here if/when we make it back to beautiful Montreal! Merci!

Yelp
Overall wonderful stay but this place doesn't come with a few major downsides which I feel should be noted. First the positive, loved the artsy interior of the rooms. I stayed in a deluxe room. Definitely think it's worth it to upgrade to a more spacious room. We had an extra large bathroom with jacuzzi tub which was awesome! The metro station is just feet away which proved to be super convenient. There is a community kitchen which guests are welcome to use. Breakfast was on the small side but nonetheless tasty. Perfect for a romantic get away. Room for improvement is the internet, we had alot of difficulty connecting to the wifi and had spotty service. Lack of internet in combination with a nearly absent front desk receptionist made it difficult as a first time visitor in Montreal to get information and recommendations for what to do and where to go in Montreal. My advice is to complete your internet research for activities for your trip prior to traveling.

Yelp
We had a great long weekend at this B&B. I booked it through a third-party website that messed our reservations up so we got a free upgrade to a luxury suite which was a very nice surprise. The staff was pleasant and friendly. The weather unfortunately was AWFUL when we visited but we didn't mind staying in so much because our suite was so cozy and comfortable. The decorations and furniture are tasteful, artistic and inviting. Not generic or tacky at all. We felt like we were at home in our suite. The breakfast was good and made fresh to order in the morning. Nothing crazy but your standard cereals, toast, eggs, bacon, waffles, OJ, etc. There is also parking behind the hotel for $12 a night which is well worth it and we were thankful for the convenience. So besides the fact the staff is very nice, the hotel is quaint and charming, the rooms are super comfy and well decorated, there's free wifi and there's breakfast/cheap parking, the BEST part of this hotel is it's proximity to the subway station. It is literally a 30 second walk from the door. It made all the neighborhoods, attractions and restaurants in Montreal totally accessible and was comforting at night to know we didn't have to walk far in the dark after an exhausting day. Also, the neighborhood was very quiet and felt pretty safe. It's right by what I'm assuming their financial district is so there are a lot of nice restaurants/stores in the area. I would 100% stay here again and would not hesitate to recommend this to someone over a generic and bland hotel.

Yelp
We enjoyed staying here for our anniversary trip. The breakfast nook is sunlit and charming, the rooms spacious and comfortable, and location - right across from a metro stop! - can't be beat. Breakfast can be ordered up to your room for no extra charge. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Yelp
What a delightful place! Steps from the Metro, friendly staff, good breakfast and quiet rooms.
