The food was incredible and in generous quantities. Very pleasant atmosphere. Will definitely come again!

Beautifully situated on the mountain. The view is amazing. We were there as tourists on our bikes. We ordered wine and a piece of their homemade tarte. The wine glass was not clean and that made the experience a bit less nice. We paid for the wine and draft beer each €3,50 but for the tarte €7,00. And we thought that was too expensive considering the piece we got.

It was a very pleasant stay, with very friendly and honest staff. The accommodations were also very nice and cosy. And we really liked that we had a key to the swimming pool which meant we could go for a night swim! The view of the mountains... priceless. The restaurant serves traditional meals, not so many things to choose from but that guaranties all is fresh. We can really recommend to come and stay here; they make you feel like you are part of the family!!!

We stopped off here for an impromptu lunch whilst driving through the area. The food was really good. I had a cassoulet the which was so tasty. Beautifully presented and lovely fresh ingredients. Reasonably priced. Great desserts, freshly made. Our waitress spoke a little English and we managed a little French. The food came promptly. We sat indoors as it was not warm enough to dine outside. The views across the valley are stunning. I would definitely eat here again.

Not sure how this place gets a higher rating. It was very disappointing. We came up for our anniversary just to go someplace comfortable with good food. We should have stayed home. The room, the rose room, was supposed to be an upgrade. It was large but looked out on a gas storage tank and shed, was hot, and above all, thanks to the neighbors pack of hunting dogs, very noisy. They barked all night and are barking now. Dinner was mediocre (bland cassoulet and "ravioli" of cepes with too much cheese and little mushroom flavor) and breakfast was not great, but not terrible. It is well known for its view and its pool. The pool was too cold for us, and the view was just ok. If you just need a place to sleep, and get a room as far from the dogs as possible, it would be fine, otherwise don't expect much. At least the people were nice and the forest pleasant.

Best location in the area, the most amazing view just outside of your window. The hotel is located at the beginning of two nice trails, so you can easily check in your room and start hiking a second later. The owner, Caroline, is lovely and very helpful.

I have visited this restaurant on a few occasions since I own a house 10km down the mountain, mainly for the setting which is glorious on a sunny day but my last meal there on Monday was truly dire and I know what I am talking about. A steak labelled "piece du boucher" was a third rate entrecôte, a third gristle, smothered with a cream sauce with rehydrated cepes and soggy frites. The dessert was (on their own admission) a frozen industrial blackberry tart and the carafe of raspy red wine inconsequential. This restaurant (which also has rooms) trades on its reputation and remote setting but frankly isn't worth the cost of the drive which is at least 30 minutes from Foix. The steak was billed at an eye watering €24.50, the tart €7.00, red wine (small carafe) €11.00 (!) so with a coffee I paid €45.50 for a new standard in mediocrity. The staff are however totally charming but sadly don't own or run the kitchen. Avoid.

We stayed here for four nights to do some walking in the mountains. The weather wasn’t as good as we hoped but we managed to get in two good walks in the area. The owners were friendly and helpful with maps and routes. ||The room was basic and comfortable. It would be good to have some tea and coffee making facilities in the room particularly as the Auberge itself was closed on the Monday when we were staying. Breakfast was continental style and sufficient with fresh coffee on request. Would have liked more fruit available but that’s just a personal thing.||We are here two nights and the food was very good - the chefs ravioli was to die for! My husband ate their blueberry pie with coffee in the afternoons and loved it. ||Used the sauna and pool - was a bit surprised to be charged for this given the run down nature of the building though. ||All in all a great place to stay if you like being out in nature. The views are great and its comfortable and welcoming.
