This lovingly-maintained 200-year old house is great base from which to experience authentic Ile d’Orleans.||Annie & Michel’s charming home, which is conveniently located in St. Laurent, one of the island’s villages, itself tells the history of island life in its walls/floorboards/decor. But, it still offers the comforts a b&b traveler needs.||When we needed toothpaste, we simply walked across the street to the depanneur (convenience store).||We especially enjoyed having a home prepared charcuterie with wine on the very green and natural back terrace watching waterfowl and ships go by.||Annie & Michel are very accommodating, snd each morning provided a delicious island-style nutritious homemade breakfast, which we enjoyed with other interesting guests.

Outstanding location with access to the water. The Inn provides great rustic rooms with a lot of charm, a beautiful dinning room and living room. Outside, you'll be able to enjoy a relaxing evening on a nice deck just mere meters from the water. There's a small shed that provides a fridge, stove and other useful appliances. The place is right in front of a nice general store that provides fresh produce, good alcohols and great quality meats. If you do not feel like going out, you can basically cook yourself a nice meal in the shed and enjoy a perfect evening on the waterfront. Annie and Michel are both very charming and immediately felt like old friends. The thing that I mostly appreciate about this place is how thoughtful the owners are about pretty much everything.

Very nice little b abd b. Perfect size for a relaxing stay. Clean and comfortable. A nice breakfast. Shower in room is quite small, but private.. Hosts Annie and Michel were helpful and welcoming. Nicely located.

It is a lovely old house with lots of creaks and uneven floors plus close to a busy road but if you have earplugs it is all good. The bed was comfortable and ensuite bath/shower have been added to each room. It was extremely humid during our stay so the fan was working overtime! The best features were the very friendly hosts, incredibly delicious breakfasts and the riverside terrace with access to a fridge and microwave for picnic dinners (with all the incredible food and wines/ciders picked up during a day tour of the island).

We spent 2 nights at Michel and Annie’s Auberge. We just loved it. The hosts are so pleasant and we felt right at home. It was extremely hot when we visited and we were a bit worried as there is no air conditioning at the house. In spite of the crazy heat wave, the house was cool enough and we only used the fan one night. The breeze from the St-Laurence cooled our room to a comfortable level. Breakfast was very good and plentiful with eggs, bacon, freshly baked sweat breads and pancakes. The terrace at the back of the property is beautiful. Lots of shade and plenty of seating options. They can make you a platter of cheese, pâté, salad, crackers and baguette which we purchased one evening and it was wonderful. Our room was the Magnolia on the first floor at the back of the house so noise from the street was not a problem. It’s not a large room but well appointed and everything was impeccably clean. Value for money, the Auberge is hard to beat. Less than 30 minutes from Québec city and much cooler on the island. Thank you Annie and Michel for making our stay so enjoyable. We will be back.

My friend and I quite enjoyed the experience staying here! Although it was only for 1 night it was a good one! They provide you with a map of the whole island and the owners sat down with us pointed out different locations to go. Breakfast was wonderful! Everything was fresh and delicious! We stayed in the Capucine room, the beds were comfortable and the room has a bathroom. The only negative comment I will say is that while the room itself was very clean, the bathtub inside had some strange brownish water marks. They washed away with the first shower, but I'm very particular about the cleanliness of my bathtubs. Outside there is a little dock by the river which is lovely to watch the sunsets. Overall I would return.

Annie, the owner of the auberge, is the nicest and most welcoming person you could imagine. It was very nice to have a welcome as warm as hers after a long day driving through construction zones. The road in front of the house is still under repair, but is open to local traffic, so just let the road work guy know and he'll let you though. The roadwork itself doesn't interfere with the evening quiet or the aesthetics of the B&B. ||Our room was charming, with feminine decor that my wife and daughter loved. The bathroom was surprisingly large (as large as the bedroom, which was on the small side but not confining, and a very sweet room). On nice days you can stroll down to a deck by the water and get a sublime and relaxing view. ||Breakfast was fantastic: both a savory quiche involving very fresh grape tomatoes and herbs, followed up by delicate and tasty pancakes. There was also freshly baked bread with home made jam - all delicious! ||Since a lot of the B&B experience for us comes down to the personality of the owners, it's easy to say that Auberge de l'Ile flottante is high on the list of happy and memorable places. Annie is a gracious and warm hostess, and we'd love to come back some day.

Our experience at B and B's has been quite limited; so we weren't sure what to expect at Auberge L'Ile Flottante. We had a long drive and had called a few days ahead to alert the hosts that we may be arriving later than their 4 to 6 pm window for check in. We were assured that that would be no problem. When we arrived a bit later than 6, we were warmly welcomed by host Michel, who checked us in and showed us around. We were hungry and tired after our trip and we asked for a suggestion for someplace nearby where we could get dinner. His suggestion that we could go to the épicerie across the street and get some wine and cheese, etc. was most welcome! We enjoyed a nice bottle of wine and some cheese on the terrace right on the river. It was perfect! We made use of the terrace for a glass of wine every afternoon that we were there. It was most enjoyable to watch the small boats and ships on the river. Our room, though small, was lovely and had everything we needed. It served us well. The inn is kept spotless by host Annie and her mother. Annie's multi-course breakfasts are creative and delicious. We enjoyed our breakfast conversations with our tablemates on the 3 mornings we were there. It was all quite convivial. After we had checked out and headed for the next part of our vacation - 4 nights in Québec City - Annie discovered that we had left somt things in one of the drawers in our room,. She contacted us and went above and beyond to get the items to us in Québec City. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Auberge and look forward to visiting again in the future.
