Clean quiet place, good breakfast, spacious rooms... old style, but well maintained.  extreamly helpful front desk... free safe parking and friendly neighborhood.. 24/7 grocery shop in 100 meters... the distance to Mont Tremblant is about one hour drive...

Overnight stay just prior to Christmas. This is a lovely guesthouse with charm and character. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the host provided great service. Continental breakfast was great. I would highly recommend.

Straight out of a horror movie. If you want to stay at a haunted house from the 1950’s you’ve come to the right place. As soon as we got into our room, my child asked if it was haunted. It doesn’t help that the decor comes straight out of the Shining, complete with a gold sphinx. Fear not, it will not ask you riddles. The bed spread had “bullet holes” and the white sheets were covered in mystery hair. Otherwise the place was relatively clean. The included breakfast was hard boiled eggs an assortment of Wonder bread and off brand Jiff peanut butter and jam. A waffle station with not real maple syrup. This place was run by professional cost cutters. If frugal was a sport, the owners of this establishment would win first place. The town is absolutely beautiful and charming, try to find another establishment to stay at or even try camping. Definitely not worth $220 plus taxes that we paid. I did not sleep all night and waited until morning to get the F out of there. This place will live on in our memories as the creepy haunted house.

We have stayed at this Auberge a few times in the past usually when making a last-minute decision to go to Montebello for a round of golf, or dinner and night out. It’s always been an OK hotel nothing to write home about but for a place to sleep it was OK. This time before making a trip for the season ending golf trip we reserved the room, unfortunately I became quite sick and we were unable to make it for golf or to the hotel. The owners told us not a problem they wouldn’t charge the card but when we checked our records, the card had been charged full price. We contacted the hotel, and were told that regardless of the circumstances (and what we were told yesterday…short memory?), if we didn’t cancel 48 hours in advance, we had to forfeit the room charge. I understand hotel policy, but I also understand treating regular customers with a little bit more respect, but in turn you decide to pocket the $200 which is no big deal to us and you recognize that you have lost a regular customer and every person or couple that we have referred to your establishment. Not exactly how I would be handling my business in an area that only has a few attractions and very short seasons with many other lodging options.

The owners are sweet, and mean well. But I absolutely can not leave a good review. Keeping this short and sweet Blood everywhere. Pillows, walls, sheets and shower curtains Mystery crumbs , hair on the mattress and toe nails on the carpet High likelihood of bed bugs with the "crumbs" on the mattress and blood splatter patterns. Due to this and also waking up with bites, I've thrown out a LOT of my belongings to try to avoid bringing home whatever it is they have........ I can absolutely promise nothing is washed as it should be, the toilet lid as an example was very dusty. On checkin a guest reported a very leaky tap.... the owner did tell him to just close the door and it'll be dealt with tomorrow morning I would love to give these people a good review as the shinning vibe is pretty cool for me... but it's dirty and I can't stop itching...

The Auberge Montebello would have been quite a spot when it was first opened. The building is neat and has a lot of character - definitely designed when buildings had a soul. In its current form, the hotel is quite tired - its age is showing in many ways, from being quite due for a paint job to needing some professional general maintenance. Think of the little quirks as adding character, and you can easily forgive the current state. Our room was a bit stuffy and smelled of smoke, which begs the question, "How old are the linens and the furniture?" Given the price, I would have expected the general upkeep to be more complete, so my assessment of rating takes this into consideration. Were we to visit this area again, I would be likely to try another hotel before coming back to Auberge Montebello.

We just booked a block of rooms for 2 nights at this hotel. If you want to stay in a hotel that’s from the 70’s and looks like you are in “ the shining”, then stay here. The rooms are spacious and semi clean. You get 10 channels at best, but at least there’s the WiFi. The breakfast consists of bread, bagels, cereal, coffee, OJ and eggs. You have a gate keeper at the waffle machine, doing it for you. Since the weather was bad, we decided to lounge on the side deck. That’s when the owner showed his true colours. He kept peering out the window at us. And told us we can’t drink there numerous times. But yet, the garbage can out at the pool was overflowing with beer and alcohol bottles. He was even upset we ordered pizza to the hotel. I asked to go to the rooftop patio. He said they had a fire up there and it was closed off. How about fixing it? We just spent $4000 on 2 nights there. Will I return? Not a chance…

Read some harsh reviews but don't understand where they were coming from? Fairly quiet at the hotel with not many cars in the parking lot. Arrived and got checked in easily. The hotel clerk was pleasant and friendly. Rooms okay, are a little dated but the bathroom was super clean. Beds was comfortable and pillows didn't give me neck pain.|Morning breakfast was available, toast, waffles, hard boiled eggs, coffee and juice. If you want the full on breakfast then you need to go elsewhere. Yes the building is old but, hot water and great water pressure!

Yelp
Place is very old - not in a charming way. Lobby reeked of some odour but was less smelly in room because of the air freshener. Place looked clean. Room was in some large brick building behind the Victorian building in the front. Limited breakfast starting at 8am on weekends but close to smelly lobby. Free parking.

Yelp
I'm giving this place a reluctant three stars. It provides a clean and quiet place to sleep at an affordable price but is pretty much devoid of charm or frills. The main building might suggest a quaint Quebecoise inn but the sleeping quarters are actually in a cinderblock building in the back - the kind of place frequented by bowling and curling tournamenters. The owners are trying hard in a little tourist village that probably goes from dead to overflowing throughout the year. The Chateau up the road is the real attraction so the auberge must be challenged to maintain guests throughout the winter. It looks like they have a boat dock so the place is probably much more lively during the summer months.

Yelp
This place was really cute. I will start off by saying that it isn't a very fancy hotel, but the rooms where nice and old fashioned. It was very clean. When I went we were one of the only guests there. We had booked it for a weekend surprise getaway for my grandmother. It was a special outing because it was before she had to go and deal with some health issues. When we got there the special room we had booked for her was not accessible because she couldn't use the stairs and there was no elevator. It is a really old building so we weren't too upset it was understandable. The staff at the hotel were incredible, when they realized the problem, they found us another nice room on the main floor, they helped us set it up with flowers and things like that. Meanwhile another staff turned on the fireplace for my grandmother and offered her some tea. We had some great chats with the owner during our stay and they were so kind. My grandmother kept on telling us how much she liked our stay there. They did have breakfast included. It was good but I should tell people reading this review that it is not a huge selection. They do have a waffle maker, some bread, fruit and hard boiled eggs but not much more. I still enjoyed it. :) I would recommend this place for sure, it's not very fancy like I said, more old fashioned but we really liked the atmosphere, how kind the staff was and how they kept it very clean.
