First the good: The staff is outstanding. Helpful, friendly, responsive. Desk staff, bell staff, cleaning staff - all outstanding. Also, the bed was comfortable and the quality of the linens is good. The lobby and common areas are attractive. The hotel is well located.|The breakfast is good, though they need to add some tables to the rooms adjacent to the dining room. Each of the three mornings we were there there were more people than seats for breakfast.|The big disappointment was our room, which left much to be desired. For almost US$400 per night, C$533, it was a big disappointed. |- The room had no closet. The half of the armoire where you should have been able to hang clothes had a mini fridge with equipment for coffee and tea on top of it - leaving no room to hang clothes. (We were on a three week trip and needed to hang up some pants and shirts.) The front desk did send up a hanging rack for us, though it was hard to find a place to put it.|- There was a bare wooden floor. No rug, no carpet.|- There was no sense of design or decor: Looked like Ikea furniture sort of tossed in without much thought. No color. No art. Didn't feel like a space you'd like to relax or spend time in. It just wasn't a comfortable, welcoming place.|- There is shampoo and soap, but no other toiletries or other amenities, and no place in the bathroom to put prescriptions or toiletries. |In short, if the room had been half what we paid, I'd have been OK with it. But for the price, the room was disappointing, so I'm giving it an "average" rating. I
