Auberge Sainte-Gemme

What a delightful surprise! This charming auberge, tucked away in the heart of the Sancerre region, is run by an exceptional chef and his equally delightful wife. The food was absolutely exquisite—every dish bursting with flavor and finesse—and the wine selection was perfectly curated to match. Claude Colliot, a renowned chef in France, brings an extraordinary level of culinary artistry to this small village. Discovering a chef of his caliber here was an unexpected and unforgettable treat.

We booked in for one night on our return trip from skiing and had the most warm welcome. We were looked after beautifully by Claude and his wife.|Extremely comfortable super king sized bed and well appointed en-suite. Tea and coffee and chocolates and a surprise glass of kir delivered to our door!! Nice furnishings including boucle armchairs and benches and rustic lampshades.||The restaurant was closed but Claude offered to cook us dinner. We were served a four course dinner in the candlelit dining room . Exceptional quality of food , each course was absolutely delicious. A very accomplished chef .|We slept very well and had a great breakfast before departing ! ||We will definitely return to this charming auberge near Sancerre and next time we will plan to stay longer!!

Chef Claude Colliot's new venture at the Sancerre vineyards' doorstep is nothing short of amazing. Seasonal produce, local sourcing, and the utmost respect for nature's best, gently conducted like a food symphony under the Chef's talent. Whether in the spacious garden (amidst the Chef's herb garden) or in the main restaurant room, Chantal Colliot leads a concerto of her own, with a scrumptious wine list - local or not, but all world class. The hotel side is tastefully decorated with full amenities, extremely quiet and (at least in the Emeraude room), an amazing view of the stars over the vineyards. The breakfast is also a fantastic opportunity to have a bite of the Chef's amazing omelettes. A peaceful and tasty haven!

An exceptional and very friendly Auberge with a rare gourmet experience. The best part of our séjour was, undoubtedly, the energy and warmth from Chantal and Claude (and cute Gusto...). Grand Merci!

Que dire à part que ce lieu mérite une note au dessus des 5 étoiles ? Claude & Chantal vous accueillent dans ce cocon avec une cuisine sublime et des chambres digne d’un 5 étoiles. C’était la première fois et ce sera certainement pas la dernière!! Bonus avec leur chien Gusto qui est un amour.

Domein met fraaie tuin en eigen parkeergelegenheid, ontbijtruimte/bar erg gezellig ingericht. Kamers met oog voor detail in de overvloedig aangeboden accessoires. |Degelijk bed, luxueuze badkamer met douche. |Voldoende grote kast om alles op te bergen. Alles was kraaknet!|Verzorgd ontbijt en vriendelijke ontvangst door de eigenaar.

Freundliche Gastgeber und köstliches Essen. Nach unserem Besuch in Sancerre sind wir in der ca. 10 km entfernten Auberge freundlich empfangen worden. Die Gastgeber kümmerten sich rührend um unsere Belange und haben uns gut beraten. Die Zimmer sind schön eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Alles steht zur Verfügung vom Fön bis zu verschiedenen Pflegmitteln. Das Bett ist groß und sehr gemütlich. Die angebotenen Speisen sind durchweg köstlich. Mein persönliches Highlight war die Bratwurst. Wir wünschen den Gastgebern alles Gute und sagen Dankeschön. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Superbe table au pied de l’auberge, avec Claude Colliot et Chantal aux manettes. Une cuisine du terroir, tournée sur le poisson, les viandes mais aussi beaucoup les légumes de saison produits localement; et une très belle sélection de vins ! Sans doute une des meilleures tables de la région ! Et lorsqu’il fait beau, rien de plus bucolique que le jardin !
