Very nice hostel and good price. Staff and volunteers are nice. Rooms are really clean and quiet. The kitchen is used by many people but still is clean and neat because of the people working there cleaning it. Breakfast was lovely, we really appreciated it. I would go here again when I'm in Montreal.

This was my first stay at Auberge Saintlo. After reading numerous reviews, I checked in with curiosity and an open mind. The price was very affordable, so I decided to give it a try. With a jet lag I booked a private room since I knew I would wake up early and didn’t want to disturb other sleepers. The location is excellent—there’s an Airport Express bus stop nearby, and plenty of cafés and restaurants are within walking distance. While there was some noise, it didn’t bother me personally, but light sleepers might find it a concern. The complimentary breakfast included coffee, bagels, bananas, jam, and cereal—simple but sufficient. Check-in and check-out were smooth and hassle-free. Overall, a great budget-friendly option in a convenient location!

I’ve stayed at this hostel on a few occasions now in a 6 bed female dorm. I absolutely love the location. There’s a bus stop nearby that I took to and from the airport, there’s the hockey arena a short walk away, and a metro station around a 3 minute walk from the hostel. There are many cafes, restaurants, and attractions within a 15-20 minute radius that I would recommend checking out. The service is quick and easy with check in and check out. I have utilized the free luggage storage every single one of my stays, making it easier to explore the city either before or after my check in or check out. The downstairs common area offers breakfast in the morning consisting of things like breads and bagels, jams, and coffee. There is a kitchen where you can store your own food. There are board games, a pool table, and activities almost everyday. I enjoy playing the guitar they have hanging downstairs personally. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone wishing for both great and affordable accommodation in Montreal.

We got a private room and it was pretty nice and clean. It was in a great location and only about a block away from the metro station which we used to get around the city and also a pretty short walk from a bus that took us right to the airport. The free breakfast was pretty good also. The only thing I noticed is that the walls seemed very thin, I would definitely recommend noise-canceling headphones if you have them or earplugs.

My friend and I have never stayed in a hostel before, but we are extremely content with our first hostel experience at Saintlo Montreal. The rooms are clean and modern, with nice bedding and a spacious bathroom that is regularly cleaned. We personally had no issues with noise, and everyone was extremely friendly. It was also so nice having an included breakfast downstairs, and being a less than 5 minute walk from the metro station. Highly recommend staying here if you are looking for an affordable and comfortable place to stay in Montreal!

Honestly the best hostel I ever stayed in. 1) Bathrooms are hands down the cleanest, well-maintained round the clock! 2) As someone who works remotely, their wifi is just the best. I never encountered lagging, or any disconnection! 3) And their co-working spaces are just great! Free to use. Spacious. Lockers available if you want to leave your stuff. 4) Bathrooms outside of bedrooms also include showers! So, if you’re staying in a 10-bedroom and your bathroom is occupied, just look for a vacant common bathroom! 5) Their breakfast consists of Bagels, breads, spreads, banana and orange, cereals, and coffee. If you’re Asian and looking for something savory, this is not your thing. Just cook breakfast if you want.

Absolutely loved my stay, the pictures online don't do it justice. The staff was very nice, check-in was super easy. I stayed in a 6-room dorm, mattresses themselves weren't the most comfy but the bedding was very soft and warm. Bathrooms were more updated than expected and the showers were HOT with great water pressure. Everything was super clean and I was able to nap in the middle of the day but there were definitely plenty of young people milling around. Would 100% return, would be really fun to rent out a whole 10 or 6 bed dorm for a group trip.

This place is hit or miss, some of the staff such as Sarina are some of the nicest people you will ever meet but then you also get people like David who is one of the rudest most aggressive people I have ever met, he is just mean, how someone like that can work in customer service??? I don’t know, I hope no one else is a victim of David. The management on the other hand make you feel welcome and comfortable and have a genuine interest in the travelers. The rooms are very spacious and the beds are comfortable with lots of natural light. The study rooms are also a big bonus and great for getting work done. The location is also decent, away from all the sketchy areas. I wish they would have a place outside the bar where people can chill and socialize. Generally a great experience but there is also room for improvement.

Yelp
Good vibes and good design at this lovely hostel 15 minutes walk from Gare Centrale. This felt like it was gut-renovated to serve as a hostel. All the little modern details are there, including two electrical outlets and a small light at every bunk, privacy curtains, and lots of other nice details. Oh, and they have hooks mounted in the room and bathroom! Lots of them! This feels like a basic detail for hotels and hostels that elevate the experience but seems rare. Something unusual is that they have coworking spaces for general use, but also can be rented for private use for $10/hour. There are 3 rooms and have basic desks, but enough to get work done. One of them has a conference table in the middle if you want to do team meetings and such. The bar downstairs has a nice vibe. The kitchen is also down there and is spacious and has multiple wash stations. Their system for labeling food seems pretty well designed. Wifi speeds have been consistently clocking in at almost 400 Mbps, which is as good as a lot of office buildings. Even 250 Mbps in the basement. The location is near the Metro and the general area feels safe. Staff is courteous and professional. Bathrooms, bunks, and everything is just nicely done. There's a good amount of room under the bunks to stow luggage, including what seems like 'slots' to help the bunkmates carve out their own space. Not sure if each room had this but my room had both a heater and an air conditioner with a thermostat just for our room. The only complaints I have: My room had creaky wooden bunk beds and my bathroom and room doors were also squeaky. The pillows pretty low quality and the mattress is on the somewhat firmer side, which is not what I'm used to. This is what brought down the star rating for me as it affected my sleep somewhat. I get that this is a hostel, so I'm not expecting high-end stuff, but wanted people to know those details.

Yelp
Absolute disappointment. I've stayed at this hostel several times under the HI/Hostelling International association, and have loved it for the community, location, and competitive price, along with the many benefits that come with being an HI member. When booking for my most recently trip back to Montreal, I was floored to see that the price was FIVE times more expensive than what I had last paid for the exact same room, during the exact same time of year. The Saintlo version of this property is essentially identical to the HI version, but with a staggering cost difference. This is a massively unfortunate loss for the travelling community and the budget-conscious locals of Montreal alike. Next time, as much as I love the location and my memories here, I'll be finding someplace else.
