This was a great find! We were on the Interstate and were looking for something different for lunch, and my wife found this. It was very easy to find, right off the highway. We were welcomed and seated right when we got there (around 11:45). Shoutout to Stef, who too great care of us. I had the Rattlesnake Pasta, which was excellent. My wife had the Grilled Salmon Tacos, which were very good as well. What a great break before we got back on the road!

We didn't stay very long but the food was great and our server was amazing. I don't remember her name but she had two nose rings, brown hair, and served us on the bar side about an hour before closing. We got a half off bottle of white wine which was good. She suggested the ranch to dip my fries in and let me tell you, that ranch took me to another place. If I could get a bottle of that ranch I would. But to our server. You were fantastic. I wish nothing but the best in life for you because you had a light that shines from within. Thank you for being so great.

Google
Amazing in every way. The Caesar salad was so good I had wished I had gotten it for my entree. Then I got my entree, and it was so good I wished I had got that as my appetizer. Lol! The breaded chicken was off the chart good. Potatoes were a little old/dry, but I did arrive right before close.

We were visiting from the West Coast. Looking for a local, lunchtime, favorite. We didn't realize Aubrey's was a local chain. But, the food was good. Large portions, approximately 20$ per person (3$ for a soda now. I always drink water 🙂) And it looked like if you are a salad or burger person, you would enjoy their selection.

Google
Not bad at all! My rice was gross(Son & Mother agreed), but other then that food was good.

Google
Place wasn't busy, Getting to order drinks after seated took about 5-10 Minutes. Soda Machines need cleaned badly, Some of the drinks came out poorly (The Coke & Diet Coke, they tasted funky. Food came out relatively quick. Food was Good, Fried Chicken was kind of bland, But moist and delicious. Fries were great. Their Thousand Island and Homemade Ranch were really good. All the plates that came out with the bread were dirty.

Google
First time eating here and it was great! Good food with good atmosphere. Yummy warm bread with butter. Thick cut potato chips was a good appetizer. I had the Hawaiian ribeye and it was delicious. Definitely a must try if you’re in the area.

Google
100% recommend! ⭐️ This place has great food, service, atmosphere, and parking! We pretty much tried everything on their menu. I definitely recommend getting their spinach con queso, chips, and filet bites as starters. Their ranch dip is to die for! We bought 16oz of it to go! For entrees, I love their rattlesnake pasta and salmon. You can never go wrong with all their drinks too! My personal fave was all their beach vibe cocktails such as peach sangria and piña colada! Special shoutout to Sydney! She made our experience here so great! We’ve been to numerous restaurants from hole in the wall to fine dining but we can definitely say what makes a place great are their people! She’s so friendly, attentive, and all her recommendations are wonderful. 🥰 We’ve also met Bry, Steph, and Tyler! Great people working here y’all!

Yelp
We love Aubrey's. Great service wonderful food never disappoints. It's clean. The staff is so friendly for always checking on you making sure your service is just exactly how you want it. It's just a great atmosphere.

Yelp
We had our dog with us so we sat on the patio where there was plenty of shaded tables. There were 3 of us and we split 2 salads and we also split the Rockefeller Pizza. It was just enough but more importantly it was DELICIOUS!!! We will definitely order this again. Our server was not the friendliest and as my husband was trying to order To Go drinks she just zipped off to help some other couples. It was a little off-putting.

Yelp
Food is excellent. I had the best cheddar burger ever. it was great, juicy, and cooked to perfection. Bun was tasty. Complimentary bread was good. They had quite a crowd in there. Delivery of food was slow, but worth it. Our waitress came by and said, it should not be taking this long. She was able to track it down. Perhaps it was just sitting somewhere. But it arrived and was warm. Exiting was tough. We finally got ahold of waitress and asked for out check. When she finally returned with it, the next waiting period was to find out the system was down and it may take a bit. Interesting others around me were getting their checks and departing. I think it took us longer to exit than to eat. Otherwise, i would have gone 5 stars.

Yelp
Stopped here to eat on a road trip. Busy Friday night so we waited about 15 min. The bar area was very nice, closed off in glass from the rest of the restaurant. Nice bathrooms. Had a very nice table with great service from Colton. Kids meals had good prices. Son really liked his chicken fingers. Daughter had m&c and loved the fries. I had the grilled chicken sandwich (juicy and excellent) and cinnamon apples (meh). Husband had chicken fried chicken, said it was fine. He appreciated the local Knoxville beer selection. And we all loved the bread, didn't have dessert. Good ambiance, would definitely return!

Yelp
I decided to eat here last night because well it was practically in the parking lot of my hotel. The ambience of the place is not unlike a nice steakhouse, or other high-end casual dining. Think sort of like a Maggianos without all of that Italian stuff. I started out with the Rockefeller pizza or something like that. It was a good little pizza on a thin crust like a flatbread, but not as doughy it was very nice. I then followed up with the rattlesnake pasta, sort of a linguine dish with a bunch of different stuff thrown in, I'm not even sure why they called it rattlesnake. But it was good. Everything had a lot of flavor and the service was excellent. A nice young man named Peyton was my server. He was very personable and made good suggestions. I then had a large piece of cheesecake for dessert. This was very good. The whole meal was 50 bucks, a little bit on the high side, but that's OK. I did not have any alcohol with the meal I had Diet Coke.

Yelp
Everything is always too notch at Aubrey's. The owner Randy is real good people. By the holes in his tennis shoes and the clothes he wears You would not know that he was the owner of quite a few upscale restaurants. I like that in a person. That shows good character. He treats his employees with nothing besides love & respect. He even rents homes to some of them. Good people. Thank you Randy. Misty Flenniken.

Yelp
Steaks have a lot of fat on them not with the 37.00 we have to pay manager said he would look at the other steaks to see how much fat are on them not taking care of the problem I had

Yelp
Great service and food with a huge beer selection. We had a large group of 12 and they were able to quickly accommodate us and the wait times were not long. I would highly recommend coming here.

Yelp
Loved Aubrey's. Please come to Augusta, GA. We need good restaurants in Augusta ( called Disgusta for a reason).

Yelp
Fast, polite service. Clean. Big parking lot. Food was good. Place is what you expect from Aubrey's but this place is always filled with tourists. We stay at the Hampton behind the restaurant and there are busses in the parking lot often. Very convenient to the highway.

Yelp
Used to love the baked scrod but today it was mushy. The potato chips were wonderful as always. I still want a good piece of fish, probably not going here when I want one the next time.

Yelp
KNOXVILLE, TN 37924 / REGIONAL COMFORT FOODS / 09-25-23 / DINNER +The Hawaiian Ribeye was legit. +The customer service was okay. +Plenty of parking and seating. -The Caesar Salad could've been better. -The place was a bit untidy.

Yelp
Just landed in TN came straight from the airport needing a bite to eat. Food was really good! The atmosphere inside was lacking a bit, felt like a Chili's. Really comfortable, kid friendly! Not a place you'd dress up to go to. If you're tired after a long day, walk in and grab some dinner! Service was good! Our waitress was sweet and quick to refill drinks!

Yelp
Heard this was where the locals eat and now I know why. Great service, prices for meals, and menu. Recommend any of the sides, soups, and tenders. Large potties and variety.
google avatar

Yelp
The service was quick and "Johnny on the spot." It was recommended by a couple of the folks with me that the Hawaiian ribeye ($30)was a favorite, so that was me, medium rare. My selected side was roasted mushrooms. The steak was precisely cooked, and tender for the entire steak. No complaints at all. The pineapple slices on top of the meat was unusual and did not seem to add to the flavor. As I enjoy pineapple, it did not go to waste. One of us had the "pizza rock" ($12) which was like a large flatbread with tomato sauce and cheese on it like a regular pizza, added with some sliced hot peppers which unfortunately overpowered the good taste. Take off the peppers (as I did on a slice) and I would order it. Not on the menu, but ordered (by a former employee with us) as an off-menu item was a kale salad. ($5 for an ordered side salad, plus $4 for kale). Some of you may be like me and think that kale is bitter but trust me this special salad did not taste bitter at all and was tender and not bitter or a harsh texture. Surprise! I would order it, based upon my one sample bite. All in all, I highly recommend this place for its comfortable (but large) dining area ambience, the great service and, oh yes, the great food. Four people for $147.49, which included $36 in wine and beer.

Yelp
The food was amazing. The atmosphere was light and the tunes made me want to come back so I'll be going back tomorrow.

Yelp
Decent food, good service, good beer selection, pet friendly patio. The patty melt is a big burgers not the traditional smash burger style and it was over cooked. My husband's chicken salad sandwich looked amazing, but when I tried it, it lacked flavor big time. The sides were great. The patio is a good place to eat with your pup. The nightlight was our waitress. I don't know her name but she's a brunette with a European accent.

Yelp
Highly recommend this restaurant if you have a gluten allergy, there's a whole separate menu that had a lot of variety of stuff. The waitress staff was great. We had a toddler with us. Her food was ordered first and brought out when appetizers would normally be brought out so it would be ready for her to eat when we all ate.. very clean restaurant and highly recommended for anybody. The food portions were very large. All of us took boxes home.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of visiting Aubrey's in Strawberry Plains twice, on 7/27/23 and 9/07/23, and both experiences left a positive impression. During my first visit, the restaurant was bustling, yet the service was prompt. Our waitress efficiently took our drink order, and the beverages, along with water, were promptly delivered. The meal started with a delightful surprise - a roll made of whole wheat bread made with molasses, setting a delicious tone for what was to come. The HAIL, CAESAR! salad was a standout, featuring romaine hearts, eggless Caesar dressing, parmesan, and croutons. The unique tangy taste of the dressing, enriched by an extra dose of anchovy paste, made this Caesar salad a memorable and delicious choice. Opting for the NORTH CAROLINA CATFISH, I was treated to a culinary masterpiece. The catfish was expertly fried, with a perfect crisp on the outside and a tender, moist, and flaky interior. The spices in the batter were well-balanced, enhancing the fish's natural flavor. The accompanying lemon caper sauce added a delightful touch, creating a harmonious blend of flavors. The sautéed mushrooms, while good, could have been a bit richer in buttery goodness. My wife enjoyed the CHICKEN SALAD CLUB, a delightful combination of homemade chicken salad, Havarti cheese, bacon, shredded lettuce, and tomato on toast. On our second visit on 9/07/23: We revisited the HAIL, CAESAR! salad, which continued to impress with its delicious uniqueness. My wife once again savored the delightful CHICKEN SALAD CLUB. This time, I opted for the 12 oz RIBEYE, and it did not disappoint. Grilled to perfection with a good sear on the outside and a juicy medium-rare inside, the steak was tender and delicious. This time I asked for more sauce on my sautéed mushrooms and this time the were perfect. Overall, Aubrey's at Strawberry Plains consistently delivers a delicious dining experience with unique flavors and expertly prepared dishes. From the standout HAIL, CAESAR! salad to the perfectly fried catfish and mouth watering ribeye, each visit was a culinary delight. I look forward to returning to explore more of their enticing menu in the future.

Yelp
I ordered a rare 12oz Ribeye, and got a medium well Strip. Didn't complain due to being on a tight travel schedule. Service was pretty good and the place is nice.
google avatar

Yelp
This food was terrible! The chicken was over fried and dry. The fries were just okay and their bread service was tasteless. For the money, I could have gone through a drive thru and had better food. Service was mediocre.
google avatar

Keith S.

Yelp
The food is excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Their burgers are great and the restaurant itself has a nice aesthetic. I love coming here for lunch, even in busy weekends.

Janice M.

Yelp
My salmon was over cooked, a tad burnt . Service was fair. Ambiance was fair too. I probably wont be back.

Ted W.

Yelp
Very generous and delicious portions at a reasonable cost. No issues with service even on a busy Friday night.
google avatar

Stanley M.

Yelp
The service was excellent! Erin took great care of us making excellent recommendations as to what to eat. Ordered their clam chowder first. Tons of clams with great flavor! A big t salty, but that's what I would have done to it anyway. Perfect for me! The food was great. Grilled chicken with their sliced sweet potato fries. Honey mustard and ranch dressing. It IS part of a small chain. Don't let that dissuade you from visiting. It is definitely on my 'must go back' list so I can try some of their other dishes.
google avatar

Nicole M.

Yelp
So glad we chose to go here! Great restaurant! Our server Christine was absolutely the best! She made great suggestions and we didn't have to ask for anything. She kept our drinks filled, anticipated what we needed, and was super friendly! Husband had lemon-lime chicken with broccoli and a salad. Salad was huge! Taste of the chicken was delicious and it was very tender. I had the tomato bisque soup and it filled me up! Smooth, creamy, and very flavorful. Wish we had one where we lived! Would definitely go back again!
google avatar

Valerie S.

Yelp
We had a few drinks and ordered some food to go when we were staying at the Hampton behind it recently. Highly recommend the steak tips with gnocchi and asparagus and mushrooms from the appetizer menu. It was delicious! I need to try to recreate that one at home, it was that good!

Yelp
We had arrangements for a very large party here of 13 at 4pm on a Friday. The restaurant was sparse but it was packed by the time we left. Our server was wonderful, we went back and forth if we would need another table or not and she was more than accommodating. I had an excellent old fashioned made at the bar, when I asked for a local whisky to be used since I'm an out of Towner, the bartender had plenty to offer. We ordered and our food came out piping hot and no issues with any of the 13 orders. With how packed it got in the restaurant, you could still hear your party's conversations and even enjoy the sunshine through the windows and the artwork hanging from the ceiling. I would come back in a heartbeat!

Erin B.

Yelp
Food was very good but terrible service. Had to track down a manager to get the rest of our order and drinks. Couldn't find our waitress and others couldn't help. We will be going to a different location in the future. Disappointing for a usually good chain.

Sandra W.

Yelp
Had a great lunch at Aubrey's in Strawberry Plains on Saturday. Francisco was our waiter and he was super. He get our order turned in and delivered to the table quickly and as ordered. Local burger and fries were good. Plenty of tea. Easy parking. Clean dining room. We come here several times a year when traveling. We will return. Thanks to Francisco!

Yelp
I bet I've eaten here 50 times, regularly ever since it opened, and I have never ever had a bad meal or bad service. Honestly, I don't know how they are so consistent. This is a great concept and the best managed restaurant I've ever seen. Amazing.
google avatar

Reema P.

Yelp
I tried the rattlesnake paste and had the potato chips with the garlic sauce. It was delicious! I really enjoyed our meals and the service was so fast and everyone was very friendly!

Yelp
Aubrey's is a restaurant I've been going to for a long time, typically when visiting family. After trying a lot of the menu I can say I find the restaurant quite average. The steaks are standard, the mac and cheese is good, their pasta leaves something to be desired. The service tends to be good. The last time I dined in a loud blender disrupted our conversation several times (and we were seating in the back of the restaurant-- it was **loud**) which was strange but atypical. I've heard the beer selection is nice but do not drink myself. It's an inoffensive place to dine. They have great salads (highlighting the strawberry salad specifically). Strawberry Plains is slim pickings as far as restaurant goes so it's a nice stop if you're in the area.

Yelp
Stayin, just down the street at one of the local hotels, we looked for a restaurant that's just not the typical fast food. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into Aubrey's , first your greeted by friendly staff, they will help you to a table in a large open seating area. Today's lunch was slightly busy and a manager got right on in and started helping out. A+ Buttermilk fried chicken ($16) with French Fries. The buttermilk fried chicken was a crispy, delicious and tender chicken breast, smothered, in a savory white gravy that was delicious. It was accompanied with a side of shoestring french fries that were crispy and perfectly made. Darn Good to me !! Customer Service was on point too...friendly, attentive and helpful staff. It ready made this experience even better ! Overall, I could eat here all the time, and would recommend this place if you were just passing through.
google avatar

Kathy H.

Yelp
While the food was ok (not great as we were told) the service was horrible! We waited 40 minutes for a table, then the waitress was inattentive and screwed up our bills. We won't be going back anytime soon!
google avatar

Joe C.

Yelp
Food was good, service was ok. Loved the sourcing of local meat and vegetables, and the place was absolutely a local favorite. I will go back again when in the area and get a better feel for the place but would also recommend it for anyone who hasn't tried them and want a home cooked feel to their meal.
google avatar

John D.

Yelp
I just walked out after waiting 30 minutes for a tuna sandwich and a cup of soup, the folks that came in after me got their food and I got offered bread, didn't come there to eat a loaf of bread, maybe it was a bad night in the kitchen, but I would never waste my time going back there again.
google avatar

Tonya S.

Yelp
Food was good, the portions were too large, but that is okay if you are really hungry. Nice ambiance

Yelp
We loved this place so much that we ate there 3 times during our stay -- TWICE in ONE DAY! (Before & after Dollywood) Everything was tasty & the wait staff was ALWAYS attentive & friendly. I HIGHLY recommend the Filet Bites "small plate". This & the Asian Chicken salad was a great meal for me. The homemade bread isn't my favorite -- seems like a giant burger bun in consistency... but the honey butter with it was delicious so I "suffered" through it. :) Citrus glazed salmon was ordered more than once. My mom got the potato soup EVERY visit! My husband ordered the "soup of the moment" -- which was Chicken Almond -- he loved it so much he ordered again on another visit. We also tried the Haystack Pasta, which was really good with mushrooms & a mushroom cream sauce! Obviously we'll DEFINITELY be back when we're in town!

Laura M.

Yelp
First time here, food was hot and fresh. Place is lively and has a fun vibe. I want to shout out to our waitress in training Jasmine! She was personable, friendly and you could tell very eager to learn and do a great job.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was delicious. I had the chicken finger platter and my husband had the Ruben, both with thick cut chips. Our server, Justin M., was friendly, helpful, and attentive. If we lived in Knoxville we'd be regulars,
google avatar

Yelp
I went to this place I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. I had the pasta and chicken in like a cream sauce. It was really good. The service was really good as well. I would've given a five stars if it wasn't raining lol. Well done. Definitely try this place.

Yelp
This is a high volume, casual dining Tennessee chain with slightly more creative than average, mostly made from "real" food type restaurant. The upside of small chains is that their reliability isn't completely at the cost of having interesting or well prepared fresh food. Lots of hard surfaces, a large open room, and a kitchen that is partly open (well, in a chain restaurant - type place way) make for a fairly loud experience that may be difficult for littles, non-neurotypical, or people with hearing impairments. Service is quick, though, and thorough. Side salad has limited ingredients (leaf lettuce, diced cucumber, fresh grated cheese, and potato sticks, if memory serves), and house-made garlic buttermilk dressing is tasty. Yukon potato mash is delicious. Chicken salad is a pretty average shredded chicken mayo blend. They have daily happy hour specials, like 2$ off your draft beer, whether or not you sit in the bar area. Numerous beers on draft, too, although the selection was very IPA heavy. I don't know that I'd go rushing back, and I definitely wouldn't drive out of my way, but if I noticed a location nearby, I'd be happy to grab a bite there. When I stay nearby, for example, it's easy to get to from the hotel parking lot.

Yelp
We stopped at this location traveling through Knoxville on a long road trip. I saw on BringFido that they had a dog friendly patio and everyone needed a real meal after traveling and fast food. We came through on a Saturday evening and were able to get seated right away. They had daily specials and half off bottles of wine on Saturdays. The indoor ambiance was a little different - I'm not really sure the vibe they're going for, but it was fine. The service was okay - I think it was probably our specific waitress. She just cut straight to the point and seemed maybe a little irritated to be there. However, she kept our drinks full and came around often. We received our appetizers and meals fairly quickly. Everything that we had was good and I thought the variety of the menu was decent. If I lived in the area, I'm sure I would return!

Yelp
I love Aubrey's and have been eating their food, since they opened in the early 90s, and during this time, I have never had a bad meal. Their menu has great variety and their restaurants have a great atmosphere. I feel that Aubrey's is a greater value than most other restaurants due to the quality of ingredients used, moderate to large portions sizes, and great service (usually). My favorite item on the menu is the "Rooster grill." It's a deliciously marinated, double breast (10oz) of chicken, deeply marinated and expertly grilled, served as a sandwich and topped with Swiss cheese. This dish is so good that it's also my wife's favorite menu item and we seldom eat the same dish, when dining out. I can say, from experience, that their chicken tenders are awesome and Aubrey's has the best honey mustard for dipping. I would also recommend the thick-cut potato chips as an appetizer or side!

Yelp
Best server is Matt -the bald one! Lol)!! Never had an issue with anything here!! Definitely worth the visit!!

Yelp
I thought this place was good. The place was PACKED. Which I guess I should've figured it would be on a Friday night but wow. It must be one of the most popular places in town. I will say, It would've been nice if the hostesses would've told me I could just sit at the bar and eat. But the 30 minute wait went quick as the other waiting patrons were friendly and talkative. One suggested the Thunder road burger and the steaks while another suggested the rattlesnake chicken pasta and the steaks. So everyone seems to agree the steaks are good. I had steak earlier in the day so I decided on a light meal of chicken fingers as was suggested by several reviews. And I cannot complain in the slightest! The tenders were great and can't speak highly enough about them. The fries and smashed Yukon's weren't mind blowing but good enough. I was given bread, after like 20 minutes, and it was decent fresh made bread served with honey butter. Not my normal preference but it was not bad. Bar area was super loud and where I ended up being seated. They allow people to smoke right by the door on the patio so smoke may get to you as it did me. Something super positive I will Add is that DOGS are allowed on the patio! That's right I said DOGS!! I got to see a super cute Welsh corgi. And I noticed dog bowls on the floor by the bar that apparently they keep clean for dogs on the patio. So a dog friendly place that will get my love in the future. The friendly staff is what was most mentioned in the reviews but I didn't necessarily find that to be the case with my server or the manager. In fairness the manager was running around like crazy but still. The waitress seemed as though she was bothered by having a single patron take up a table while busy. Which I guess I get but I told them that anyone that wanted to split the table was welcome to. Oh well, maybe it was just a bad night. Otherwise I will likely visit if I'm ever in the area again.

Yelp
The hotel I was staying at recommended this location. Upon arrival it looked very welcoming from the outside. When I walked in I checked in as a party of one. Immediately the hostess offered me a standing table in the bar. I said I would prefer a booth to which she sighed and rolled her eyes. Once seated, I waited 10 minutes and finally asked if there was a waitress or waiter in my future? The waitress finally came to my table, very pleasant, took my drink order and food order at the moment. I drank my first glass of diet Coke and then waited to flag her down for a refill. The atmosphere is really good in here and the place is very clean. Once my food came the waitress came back to make sure the burger was cooked correctly-it was. The fries were ice cold but I figured they make a bunch and just got cold waiting to be served. They were good fries just cold. The burger was great! It was thick, cooked perfectly and had great flavor. The bun was very fresh and overall was the shining star of this sitting. It was a nice touch that when she brought the check she brought another drink, I appreciated that. In summary I would say that if I lived near this location it probably deserves another chance. My waitress was great once she started taking care of my table and the food was good (except for the cold fries). I gave it 2 stars because the burger and my server was pretty good. They have some work to do on hostess service and timeliness of getting to your table.

Yelp
My family I were traveling from Williamsburg, VA to Memphis, TN. It was getting close to lunch and everyone was starving. We decided to stop at Aubrey's. According to the sign, it's a locals favorite and the reviews were good. It did not disappoint! Three of us had the chicken salad club Two of us has sweet potato fries and one had potato soup. My husband had the Thunder Road burger. On top of that, the art in the restaurant was pretty cool. Our service was excellent! Emrika (I know I'm spelling that wrong) was attentive and super sweet. My mom even said, it was the best service she'd had in a long time. We totally forgot to take food pics. I took a few of the restaurant.
