A peaceful and charming botanic garden perfect for a relaxing visit. We spotted some peacocks wandering freely — even outside the park along the pathways! The pond is full of fish and adds to the serene atmosphere. Plenty of parking available, which made the visit even easier. Great place to connect with nature and enjoy a gentle walk.

Great place for the children and grandchildren. Great water features, ground are well kept. Facilities are clean and tidy. Some good opportunities to be up close to Kangaroos, wallabies, cape barren geese, peacocks and (hidden) wombat. It was a free entry day today too. Very nice surprise! Thank you Auburn council for providing something neat here

This is a beautiful and peaceful garden located inside Auburn Botanic Gardens. As soon as you walk through the red Torii gate, you feel like you’re in Japan. The pond, wooden bridges, and well-maintained gardens are amazing. It’s especially beautiful during cherry blossom season, but even on a normal day, it’s a nice place to relax, take photos, and enjoy nature. Great for families and couples. Just be careful with young kids as there are areas near the water without fences. Overall, it’s a perfect spot to escape from the busy city and spend a relaxing afternoon. Highly recommended.

What happens when a council tip closes? It should be as beautifully repurposed as this one! A reflection pool, a fauna reserve (kangaroo a wallabies and emus), a Japanese garden , all great for a visit. Local and fun. Free when there's no cherry blossoms.

Nice place for a photoshoot. Autumn season, pond, flower garden -rose. Entry tickets are affordable. It's amazing to see peacocks near the entrance. We also can find koi fishes, ducks, some birds, etc in this place. It feels good for nature lovers. A peaceful visit. You will also find waterfall. Try to visit this place during the cherry blossom festival season.

Deducted 1-star because the pond is artificially colored to make it appear blueish so that it looks good in photos, bit I am sure its not an optimal ecosystem for the aquatic life. Nevertheless, amazing gardens for a quick day out with the kids and entire family. Enough free parking. They got ducks, swans, emus peacocks, kangaroos and other variety of birds. Minimal entry fees.

Absolutely stunning place to wander about and enjoy nature. We spontaneously visited on a Sunday afternoon on our way home from the Southern Highlands. Gorgeous, well kept gardens, lots of parking (though if it rains, some of the parking spots are flooded). Super easy to get entry tickets so you don’t need to do pre-booking unless you’re going during a high volume visiting time and if you’re a local resident, I believe entry is free. We really enjoyed the Japanese gardens and found it a lovely, tranquil place to spend a sunny Sunday arvo.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 A true hidden gem in Western Sydney! Auburn Botanic Gardens is one of the most peaceful and beautiful places you can visit without having to leave the city. From the moment you walk in, you’re surrounded by stunning landscapes, vibrant flowers, and a real sense of calm. The Japanese Garden is absolutely breathtaking — especially during cherry blossom season when it feels like you’re walking through a postcard. There’s something here for everyone: native animals like kangaroos and peacocks in the fauna reserve, lovely walking paths, picnic spots, and even a rose garden. The grounds are always well maintained, and it’s clear the staff take pride in keeping the gardens in top shape. Entry is free on weekdays and very affordable on weekends, making it a perfect spot for a family outing, a quiet solo walk, or even a relaxed date. I especially loved the peaceful reflection pool and the beautiful birdlife throughout the park. Highly recommended for nature lovers, photographers, or anyone needing a break from the busy pace of daily life. Will definitely be coming back — especially in spring and autumn!

Yelp
I was excited to see things in bloom for the spring and see some animals. Sadly and disappointedly I didn't see much in terms of flowers. I was expecting to see some exotic floral scenes, but it everything looked pretty basic and simple. I did get to see some animals though and it was pretty interesting to see an imu up close and other native animals. Entrance fee was free when I went, but I didn't enjoy the scenery as much as I would've liked. My favorite part was the peacocks. I've never seen one up close before so that was pretty cool and there were many of them too.

Yelp
Can't get any better than seeing albino kangaroos and the entrance fee is free for today. This place is well known with Japanese garden features and cherry blossom during season. Still with out the main attraction, you still enjoy the beauty of this garden.

Yelp
Great park for picnic and relaxing. The kids will love the local animals in the kangaroo park. There's even an albino kangaroo! The park also has peacocks walking around and you may see the tails open if you're lucky! There's an annual cherry blossom festival at the Japanese garden around mid August (check their website). Entry is $5 for adults but free for local residents.

Yelp
Absolutely loved our experience at auburn botanical gardens. The gardens are huge and easy to navigate. It really is a nice day out for families or even for a picnic. The Japanese gardens and Australian native animal sanctuary was our favorite. The gardens are very clean and well-maintained and for $4 an adult you can't go wrong. I definitely recommend this to anyone who just wants a relaxing day out without huge crowds and busloads of people.
