A Cross-Country Car Excursion

"Sitting on a gleaming hatch-work wooden floor that could have served just as well in a swanky 1920s ballroom, the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum collection is a stunning set of antique cars that were all made by hand in an era when style trumped utility. Looking like cars that drove right out of The Great Gatsby, the ornately-styled cars produced by the Auburn, Cord, and Duesenberg car manufacturers were expensive, but lovely art deco showpieces built by hand in the early 20th century. Despite the lack of grim economic conditions of the 1920s and 30s in America, this trio of car manufacturers and their various subsidiaries designed and built some of the more luxurious and iconic autos of the day. They were known for long, sweeping curves and angles that shape over the wheel wells and the hood. These form features were often accented by shining art deco flourishes such as bold hood ornaments and angular geometric molding. And even in an age of increasing automation, the cars were still made by hand. The building that the combined company used as an office and a showroom was specially designed to be an art deco jewel in and of itself. The exterior is brickwork covered in geometric shapes while the interior was decked out in gleaming architectural flourishes that perfectly matched the opulence of the vehicles on display. Today the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum is all that remains of the iconic car manufacturers who stopped production in the 1930s. Their former showroom building now holds the museum which contains around 130 of the cars from the era, still in pristine condition." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

Like Stepping Into a Great Gatsby Movie! My wife and I visited the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum today, and it honestly felt like we were walking onto the set of The Great Gatsby. The whole place has this incredible 1920s-30s vibe—elegant, classy, and full of charm. The staff was super welcoming, and our host was especially friendly, which made the experience even better. The first floor is the original showroom from back in the day, and it still feels grand. The Auburn and Cord cars on display are absolutely stunning—sleek, bold, and full of character. Up on the third floor, the Gallery of Excellence showcases rare and unusual cars built right here in Indiana. Some of them were unlike anything we’d ever seen! Even if you’re not a car enthusiast, this museum is a total gem. It’s a mix of history, design, and vintage style that really transports you. If you’re anywhere near Auburn, do yourself a favor and check it out!

Google
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the museum. There was a wonderful collection of stunning cars and information to take in. We only wish we had more time to explore and really take in the beauty of them all. If you're in the area, you should definitely visit.

Deborah Shaw

Google
This is a wonderful place to see. I had 2 hours to spend and wished i had more. These cars are works of art, a feast for the eyes with attention to details we do not have today. Seeing such beauty has an effect on your soul and your imagination. I will be going back when i can spend a whole day.

Google
Love, love, love this museum the cars are amazing! The front building has the main Auburn, Cord, Duesenbergs. There are three floors to check out. The second floor is mainly artwork. But the top floor is wall to wall cars. So cool to go back in time. They even have a type writer you can sit down and give a try. I remembered using my mom's when I was younger but it was hard to do now. Lol the second building we went to had a lot of everything. Trucks, cars, equipment. Really cool stuff. And it was animated, some things would light up or start moving when you walked up. Like I said super cool.

Google
Great museum of old classic cars. Located in the original showroom building. Clean vehicles on display in a well lite three story building.

Google
Step back in time. This genuinely stunning art deco building will transport you back to the roaring twenties. A very well curated collection of fine automobiles from the jazz age that focuses on the environment just as much as the cars.

B Young

Google
Great collection of cars. I really enjoyed this museum. I also learned a few things while there.

Google
Nice display of early 20th century luxury cars. The focus is on the Auburn, Cord, and Duesenberg cars, which were manufactured in Indiana but also included a nice collection of other model cars from that time period. Loads of information on the history of the A-C-D cars and also the characters who created these fantastic vehicles. This information helped me better understand how this company all came together, and then to see firsthand the product created by these folks made it all the more amazing experience. It's a beautiful building with the art deco finishings of that time period.

Yelp
Love me, some art deco in the building. The original headquarters, showroom and manufacturing facility for three classic automobiles, the Auburn, Cord and the Dusenberg. Helpful staff to explain things each display car as a wealth of information to read about a couple little videos mid week we had the museum to ourselves. All the cars are extraordinarily restored. If you like automobiles put this on your bucket list. And if you're pulling an RV or motorhome there are four overnight electric and water parking spots three just across the street owned and maintained by the city and the museum. And as a bonus, there's another museum literally right next-door the national automobile and truck museum and get a combination ticket. Ticket currently $25 per person for two days. This is also on the national historic landmarks list.
google avatar

Yelp
This is by far the most expensive car museum collection that I have seen. The building is a national land mark and it's the original headquarters for the car company with the art deco beautiful show room, offices and manufacturing. The museum is on 3 levels and is a massive display. The museum next to it can be a packaged together for $25, tickets are good for two days because the collections are massive. Sorry I deleted all my pictures before I wrote this review. It's definitely a must stop for any car enthusiasts.

Yelp
Located in Auburn Indiana is one of the most amazing collections of antique and classic automobiles, boat and even an airplane. Add to that the Thompson machine gun John Dillinger stole from the police department and returned along with his death mask. The building is amazing too, a combination of Art Nouveau and Art Deco. From the earliest horseless carriages, brass era, cars that invoke thoughts of the Great Gatsby and more. I truly could go on and on, however I thought it best to let the pictures do the narration. The staff is personable and extremely knowledgeable and the gift shop should come with a warning that could cause severe damage on your credit/debit card. My bride who was hesitant and even put a time limit on how long we could stay at the museum found herself enamored with the exhibits..... If you love cars, planes, architecture, motorcycles and etcetera, a visit to this museum is highly recommended.

Ellen B.

Yelp
Auburn has one of the best museums in Northeast Indiana. It is a building that is frozen In time. The art deco architecture is something you will want to see besides the gorgeous automobiles Along with your camera, bring your wallet because there is a lovely gift shop where you will be able to buy yourself or someone that special gift.

Kimberly E.

Yelp
So much fun and so much history! Events are well thought out and interesting. Recommend to anyone that loves vintage autos.

Yelp
Found this place while googling things to see/do in Indiana. We thought it was a former factory but turns out it was a former show floor for car dealers to see the newest cars. You can tell from the mainfloor of the museum that it used to be the show floor. It's decked out in the art deco style, which is so cool. And most of the cars are too, the roaring 20s style and grandeur. If you like cars or the art deco style you will definitely enjoy this museum. There's also a muscle car museum next door that you can get tickets to in combination with this museum.

Yelp
Our family was recently at this museum when they opened it up for free to the community for trick-or-treating. The museum itself is very well done providing the history of this amazing classic American car. We appreciate that the organizers opened up this amazing space for families to trick-or-treat the one downside is when we were at this museum. The elevator was broken so for people that have mobility issues they would not be able to see what was on the other floors.

Yelp
Visiting family in northern Indiana, we decided to take a visit here for something to do together. It was a DUESEY of a trip (see what I did there?) and we all loved it. Nice collection of old cars, some in mint condition, others showing some age and in various conditions. Many were mint, but a few were certainly leaking some oil and/or antifreeze. Some real history here. I do feel as though I've done it once and it probably won't change very much in the near future. I'd be curious to know how much their inventory changes over since many of the cars are on loan from the owners.

Yelp
While I do not have a "bucket list", I have been very interested in seeing what was housed here. With a break in my tutoring schedule, I made the call to go. It is a seven hour drive from my home, but I broke it up by visiting a friend in the Indianapolis area. I was on sensory and intellectual overload, there was so much to see. My friend and I had to take a break for lunch and then come back for the second half of our visit. There was so much to see that we curtailed plans for later in the day and were happy to do so. When I tour a museum such as this, I take lots of photos for two main reasons. One, I can relive my visit over and over again. Second, I have a moderate following on Facebook of people who like my photography of the exhibits. Also, I am a retired automotive engineer, former auto race photographer and volunteer at another auto museum These cars are show pieces with every nook and cranny clean and polished and all the upholstery is immaculate. Cars are spaced out nicely for ease of viewing and photography. The museum in is a former car dealership and it decorated in Art Deco of the time period. One thing I really enjoyed was that they piped in music was from the 20's and 30's. I would have loved it if they had a roped off area as a speakeasy with appropriate adult beverages and the music playing. I would stay there for several hours more. There are two unique displays that are scattered about the floor. One is the most extensive collection of hood ornaments I have ever seen. Second are the engineering displays. Some are of workers' offices but there are a lot of cut away displays of key automotive systems. Don't expect this to be strictly about Auburns, Cords, and Duesenbergs. There are many other car brands exhibited and a lot of them are on the third floor. (The second floor is not accessible.) If I had lived closer, I might have signed up for a volunteer, but you don't have to. Just go and have fun.

Yelp
We loved visiting this museum! We were warmly greeted immediately upon arriving. The museum was quiet and clean. All of the museum workers were very friendly and knowledgable. It was very obvious that they enjoyed working there and love the cars. The cars themselves were displayed so beautifully. There was an older male museum worker there that I wish I would have gotten the name of because he was so sweet and friendly and made sure all of our questions were answered about the cars.

Yelp
As someone who isn't really a "car" person, I really loved this museum. The cars were absolutely gorgeous, beautifully displayed, and meticulously restored. I really enjoyed seeing the variety of cars on display along with the special exhibits. We took dozens of pictures of cars I've never seen before. I also learned quite a bit of history. Each car had a sign describing the car, some facts about it, and interesting trivia about what was happening at that time in history. This museum is well worth a visit - even if cars aren't your thing. If you love cars, I highly recommend checking them out!

Yelp
It's a great. We spent the afternoon at the museums and the ladies even enjoyed it. The architecture is amazing and the cars are works of art.

One of the best car museums in the world. Outstanding cars in the beautiful original art deco showroom.

Yelp
We took our children trunk or treating at the Auburn Cord Duesenburg Automotive Museum this evening in which we have done since they were babies. They look forward to this event every single year. There was this old lady that was dressed in a witch costume with green hair, she told my child that she wasn't giving him candy, pulled her arm away from him and said she needs candy for other children. WITCH please, trick or treating is for all children!

Yelp
Anyone that knows me will tell you I'm a hard core "car guy". I'm about as "Detroit" as a person could be. But I digress... I've often said I wanted to visit this museum and I finally did. WOW. What was I waiting for? This museum is located in the Auburn/Cord/Duesenberg Headquarters and is as amazing as the vehicles. The cars were amazing (obviously) but the engine examples, engineering drawings, clay models, etc made this much more than "just a museum". You can walk into the office if E.L. Cord. It's all intact. I spent over 5 hours walking through this museum reading and learning everything I could along the way. If you like cars, and Art Deco styling - you better drop what you're doing and head to Auburn. You can thank me later.

Yelp
What better way to post my 200th review then the FANTASTIC Auburn Cord Duesenburg museum!!!!! Yes, this museum is FANTASTIC!!!!! Located in Auburn, Indiana in the original building that these cars were designed and displayed in. They have taken great lengths at preserving history as how it was if you were coming in to work &/or coming in to purchase a car off the show room floor in the 20's. As you enter, the gift shop is to your left, check in to your right and then off to the museum. There are a few volunteer workers walking around the museum who can answer most questions you my have about the cars or building. The main floor is the original show room with several cars on display. Upstairs holds more cars along with recreated offices, engines, art work and photographs. If you don't want to take the stairs there is an elevator you can use. There is so much to see and do in this museum I highly recommend you give it a full day. They let you come and go as you want so you can leave for lunch and get back in without a problem.

Randy A.

Yelp
5/28/2023 AWESOME collection of the most beautiful luxury cars in the world. It was way out of our way but looked so beautiful that we made the detour and it became a highlight of our 38 day road tour of America (8,500 miles). The building isn't impressive from the outside but the interior and the cars are immaculately kept. The Duesenbergs were the most beautiful cars ever made and the collection at the museum reflect that perfectly. Well worth the extra time and miles to get there. I'm surprised the museum isn't better known.

Yelp
One of the coolest car museums I've seen! They have over 150 cars! They also have Amelia Earhart's car!! This museum scans 3 floors of automobile history, from wagons, to carriages, and onto to the automobile. There are so many different models included.

Jan M.

Yelp
Excellent way to spend your time in a GORGEOUS building...which almost outshines the fabulous collection of vehicles & advertising displays! What a treasure & vault of automotive history, design, culture & style. It's been over 30 years since we've been here and it's expanded & improved over time. Congrats, thanks & keep up the great work. Hope to return some day for the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival!

Yelp
We visited this museum today - and although I have very little interest in cars (whereas my husband has a strong interest), I *loved* the wonderful collection of old cars. There's quite a profusion of them and they're *gorgeous*. Also, scattered throughout the parking lot are several beautiful life-size statues of the men who were instrumental in the history of the car company. Note that AAA members receive a $2 discount on the admission cost.
google avatar

Kent M.

Yelp
Wow! It's a Duesy!! What more can be said for this museum, located at the factory where many of these cars were built. So many classics here, real works of art. These cars are beautiful! You don't have to be a car buff to appreciate this museum, but there is something for everyone. The selections are not limited to just Auburn - Cord - Duesenbergs, they also have some nice stainless steel Fords and a Delorean, a 57 Chevy, English and Italian cars, a couple Corvettes, Thunderbirds, etc. I have had this museum on my list for decades, but never seemed to have the time to visit. I will return for a repeat in the near future. AAA discount of $2 off the $10 admission fee.

Yelp
It was incredible to see so many fine cars in one place, I'm not even a car person and I was entertained by all the designs and the way the museum is curated
google avatar

Yelp
This is the coolest automobile museum I've been to. It's amazing all these beautiful cars were built here. Displaying them in their original showroom is so classic. The Art Deco of the building is beautiful. So many great cars. The volunteers are super helpful and really knowledgeable about the vehicles
google avatar

Yelp
Overwhelmed by the quality and quantity of all the aspects of the museum. This is a must do if you are anywhere within 500 miles of this place!

Yelp
I was completely unprepared for the scope of this museum and was totally blown away by the presentation. What an unbelievable experience. We were in the area for the Fall auction at Auburn and I mentioned to my dad that I wanted to check out the Auburn Cord Duesenburg Automobile Museum (ACDAM). The museum occupies the former showroom of ACD and the entry is left in the art deco style of the 20s and 30s. Coupled with the beautiful automobiles in the "showroom" you truly feel like you are stepping back in time. Approximately 20 cars occupy the first floor. Helpful staff will assist with any of your questions. But this is nowhere near the end. File up the stairs onto the second floor and prepare to be blown away. The upstairs encompasses a treasure trove of additional ACD (and non-ACD) autos but also a large (and comprehensive) history of automobile building in the state of Indiana. The engineering and drafting offices are recreated in intracate detail, more interactive kiosks and exhibits, and a ton more cars and memorabilia are available. We were there for about two hours and honestly if you stopped to look at all the presentations, etc. you could make an entire day of it. The scope is massive and it is an unprecedented presentation. I have never witnessed something done this well. Looking back at all my five star reviews makes me question them after visiting ACDAM. This is a true five star museum that you should make the effort to get to. Absolutely first rate.

Yelp
Do I hear wedding bells? Surely not in the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum... But it is! The only reason why I made the trek to Auburn, Indiana was for a wedding reception where the newly weds felt that X marked the spot right over the ACDAM. We entered the museum on a Saturday evening, dressed in our Sunday's best. The way our path weaved through the gift shop, we only saw a glimpse of about three cars in the museum. I honestly thought that this was a lame-O museum that was supplementing their cash flow by hosting wedding receptions. There was a nice room for a cocktail hour with hors devours. It was complete with pop-open shuttered windows to the bar area (and bar tenders who probably would not have won any tips at a bar but who did well enough serving free liquor), and suited-up servers carrying platters of little delicacies. Beyond this antechamber was a hallway with a guest book and table markers so that we could find our seats. The actual banquet hall was about the size of a gym - like a basketball court-sized gym at a high-school with room for bleachers and concessions. The newly weds rented everything from chair covers, to table linens, to the Japanese lanterns suspended above us. When I helped clean everything up the next day, I saw how impressive this bride and groom really were. The pair had a VISION and the means to make it happen because the space was really, really lack-luster. This was no banquet hall. What was really, really neat about having a wedding reception at the ACDAM was that guests were free to roam the museum. At one point, we got up and walked around the first floor snapping lots of pictures and pausing to read signs and stuff. Then we ran into some guests who encouraged us to go upstairs. Um... We quickly discovered that the ACDAM was MASSIVE and had a HUGE collection of cars and car stuff. There were THREE LEVELS. We soon forgot about reading signs and just wandered around looking at the cars that happened to catch our wandering gaze. One blessing to the design of the museum was that there were side rooms with seats and flat screen televisions showing videos. We agreed that it was nice to be able to pause to relax for a while (after all, we were in our stuffy and uncomfortable Sunday best). Speaking of Sunday morning, when I returned the next day (a Sunday morning), I saw that there were already a fair amount of visitors to the museum! I would never have thought that a museum in the middle of nowhere would attract such attention! Kudos ACDAM! And kudos to the newly weds who had the foresight to use the museum to host their reception!

Yelp
Am I a car buff? Not really. But I did love seeing all of these beautiful machines that herald to a time long gone and tried to imagine the people who drove them. This museum was interesting from the moment I walked in the door. This was the original international headquarters of the Auburn Automobile company so the building itself will have you oohing and ahhing even before you look at one car. This magnificent, art deco showroom is the perfect setting for these beautiful cars. As for the cars, most are from 1925-1937 and are truly stunning to look at. Keep in mind that the chassis were all the same and then each owner designed the "cabin" which was totally customized. Peek into each one and see how unique the fabrics, design and functionality are. And if you are a car buff- know that there is an event area at this museum. I was with a car club (could there be no better place to have a party) and the food was good, the service was friendly and they let you take your drinks around the 2 levels of the museum. A really lovely venue that's a bit off the beaten path for those who love history, cars or both!

Ralph W.

Yelp
I first went to the museum a few years back when I was in Warsaw, In. For a wedding. Many beautiful cars. I have purchased some stuff from the museum store and found everything to be good quality and shipped in a reasonable amount of time. As a cord lover, I wish they would post more pictures of the Cord on their website.

Yelp
Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum is probally one of the most expensive museums in the world which is also the same city i was born in. I believe that this museum has over 600 million dollars worth of vehicles inside if not more and the sweet part about this museum is that it barley cost anything to check it out. mmmm yea..... If you are a car enthusiast, this would be the first place to go to and if you decide to go you should definitely bring me along with You. p.s. I also had my Semi- Formal here in 2003. I had a great time and i kinda wish i could go back in time to redo it again. :)

Patti M.

Yelp
Terrific museum! The building is absolutely gorgeous! If you like Art Deco, this will make you very happy! The staff were very friendly and helpful ... including a great lunch recommendation ! The cars were beautiful and the offices upstairs of the Cord execs we're lovely to look at and transported you back to the 30s. Well worth the time and very reasonable cost.

Yelp
We visited the museum today for Father's Day. Hoped to take a ride during the event they were holding, but the line was just too long. We enjoyed perusing the different museum areas and taking in the rich history it has to offer. I haven't been here since I was a child, so it was really neat to be able to share this with my own child. The exhibits are well preserved and cared for, the offices are time capsules of days gone by and each car has details that shouldn't be overlooked. I hope to come back when we have more time to explore. My husband enjoyed his Father's Day at the museum and I am thankful to Auburn, Cord, Duesenberg for creating such a fantastic piece of history for us to continue marveling decades later.

Yelp
One thing you may not know about the Auburn Cord Duesenberg museum is that they're available to host weddings and wedding receptions. The venue is amazing and staff is great to work with. Thanks again for helping make our special day so wonderful!

Yelp
IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE ZERO STARS I WOULD. Be ready to hear a bride's worst nightmare. I got engaged June 2018. I booked my wedding reception with them shortly after. They said they had no bookings yet for 2020 and I was their first one. Especially no bookings on my date, or so they thought. I received a phone call months later saying that there was actually another wedding on my date and wanted to see if I could change my date. By this time I already had many other things booked on that date and it is very special to my heart so I was dead set on my date. I told them I would not change my date and they responded by saying they would see if the other couple would move theirs. They didn't call me back after that. I called them for two weeks trying to find out answers but every time I called Alysha was "unavailable". COULD YOU IMAGINE being a bride and not knowing if your venue is going to work for weeks??? Finally she responded by saying the other couple would take the upstairs and we could have the room we wanted. This was November. I thought everything was handled done deal. OH NO. i just received a LETTER in the mail stating their apologies that "that date was unavailable" and they refunded my money. Did not even have the guts to call me and tell me. I hope this detours anyone from thinking of having their wedding reception there.

Yelp
How lucky are we who get to see the best cars ever produced in the world? The experience when you go to the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum is a classic event for young and old. Although I was not around in the day of these cars, I have been a fan since I was a little kid and saw pictures of these classics. Everyone bitches about why we are getting our butts kicked by the foreign automakers, like we can't figure this out for ourselves but the answer lies here in Auburn IN. Once upon a time American cars WERE the best and the proof is here. It's not on the way to anywhere but if you can devote the time it is definitely worth the trip. The first time I went here they had volunteers, guys who actually use to work here when they were producing cars, walking around answering questions and telling everyone some fantastic stories of old-time American automaking. It is in part of the old factory where some of the cars were actually made, and the list of cars to see is amazing. You will see cars you probably never knew existed. It is a great journey to see real craftsmanship when it actually existed.

Yelp
Not a "car guy or girl"? Don't let that keep you from this place. You will love checking out these classic and classy cars. And "motor heads" there's a muscle car museum next door. AAA members get a discount of about $4 but you've got to ask. If you're anywhere near Indiana it's worth the time and admission. We need to go back and check out some of the local historic homes the receptionist gave us a flier for.

Yelp
My wife and I spent about 2 hours touring this great museum. One could easily spend 3 hours in the museum. Over 120 cars nicely exhibited in the old Auburn headquarters building. Admission is $10 and worth a visit. We were there on a Tuesday afternoon in August and it was not at all crowded. Plenty of free parking in their parking lot. In addition to Auburns, Cords, and Duesenberg's, there are other car makes and displays showing designers drafting boards, clay models, the Presidents office, etc. My wife is not an auto enthusiast but enjoyed the experience. Every car had information displayed and although the cars were roped off you could get very close to them, allowing you to peer inside and see the interior, dash, etc. There are sitting areas around the museum if you want to take a short rest during your tour. Photography is allowed. Also very clean restrooms.

Yelp
If voluptuous, powerful cars of yesteryear make you giddy and excited like a little boy (or girl) you need to figure out how to get to this museum out in the pastoral hinterlands of northeast Indiana. My dad and I stopped here on the way to get a rototiller fixed and spent a fantastic afternoon looking at three brands that spelled power and beauty and are sadly now missing from American life. The collection is located in an original Art Deco building that served as the headquarters of this company that succumbed to car company consolidation. If you love cars, you need to find a day to check this place out. It's a feasible day-trip out of Chicago, Indy, or Detroit.

Yelp
Oh, my. That was my reaction on my first visit, and my second. And I'll be back. The building is beautiful, the cars are amazing, and it's reasonably priced. I've been back and forth across Indiana lately, and am glad I stumbled on this. A bunch of Auburns, Cords, and Duesenbergs, yes, and stunning examples, but also a smattering of other classic cars. And with the National Automotive and Truck Museum right next door, and several other vehicle museums nearby, Auburn is worth a visit all on its own, if you have any interest in cars at all.

Yelp
One of the best museums around. Lots to see and learn about early American automobile manufacturing. If you let he cars this is your heaven. Lots of rare cars including the original Mercedes Benz Gull Wing. Great layout, with lots of surprises around each corner. Puts you back in time and let's you dream of a bygone era.

Yelp
A Supremely Classy auto museum. The building is actually an old factory showroom, complete in its intricate art deco glory. This museum focuses on cars made in Indiana (all the good ones used to be made here--Deusenbergs were the Rolls Royces of the earlier part of the century). But you'll also see all sorts of other rare cars, too. The last time I went, they had a Tucker on display--one of the most rare cars ever. I particularly enjoyed how they had the cars displayed like they would have been displayed in the showroom many decades ago. You really feel like you are stepping back in time into the golden age of roadsters. If you appreciate hand-built automotibiles, then this is a veritable art gallery of fine pieces--probably the best collection in the country.

Yelp
I'd never been to the Auburn Cord, so when I found out my cousin's wedding reception was taking place there I was super excited. We had about an hour before dinner was served to take advantage of the open bar and explore the museum. Drinks in hand, we weaved through all the classic cars on the first floor. There was an informative plaque near every car listing its year, model, and other fun facts. Even if you're not that into automobiles, you could certainly appreciate the beauty and great up-keep of these classic cars. There were also plenty of photo ops, and guests were even allowed to climb in and have their picture taken in a specially designated Duesy. There were also plenty of benches/tables throughout where guests could sit, chat, and drink while waiting for dinner to be served. No drinks were allowed on the second floor, which housed a massive collection of other historic cars and provided information about this evolution of the American Automobile. My favorite from this floor would have to be the car the belonged to architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Kudos to the ACDAM and to the newlyweds for planning such a unique and fun reception!

Yelp
We're not car people in the traditional sense but we do appreciate history, timeless and elegant design, and Art Deco architecture. We loved this museum! Plenty of stuff to look at and read that provided a historical backdrop of the automobile industry and how the Auburn, Cord, and Duesenberg fit in with that. Guides stationed around the museum were outgoing and gladly answered any questions we had. Was surprised to learn about all the technical innovations developed by Auburn, Cord, and Dusenberg were refined and still being used in today's automobiles.

Yelp
If you like cars and history a must see. Very nice museum and unique. No old bones here just shinny old chrome. And I don't mean the Google type.

Yelp
Absolutely worth a visit. Allow yourself plenty of time. We took 3 hours. Fabulous collection! Be sure to find all the nooks and crannies; you could miss something with the upstairs layout if you aren't careful - so much to see!

Yelp
Submerse yourself in a grand display of antique collectible cars. While also learning a bit about how Auburn came to be. Great informative staff. Their rental halls are immaculate as well. Clean, neat, worth a trip! Typically spend 2-3 hours.

Yelp
I made a trip to Auburn just to visit this museum. I was bowled over! I love the design of the Auburn and Cords particularly, and they are fabulously presented in the period building. A real treat!

Yelp
WOW, I have been in about 8 good auto museums, but this one is the best so far. When you walk in you go past the gift shop.. A very good one at that... Then on to the first floor.. You will see some of the finest examples of Cord, Auburn, and Duesenbergs available.. There were a number of very knowledgeable people to show you around.. There were a number of other automobiles and carriages... Take a good look around.. Had a wonderful time with Great people.. Don't miss this one...
