Auburndale Main Street Diner

When we are traveling we always love to find a good local diner or pub and this one was a good find! Everyone said hello as soon as we walked in! Waitress was immediately at our table to introduce herself, greet us and take our drink order. We split a Turkey club with onion rings and we each had a cup of soup! I had the minestrone and it was perfect, I usually have to add salt & pepper to any soup I get, but this soup was seasoned perfect. My husband had the bean soup and it was delicious too! Turkey Club was a good club! Nice size and plenty of turkey on it! Great atmosphere, nice and clean! Pretty big inside but parking seems limited in front. There may be more parking that we did not see! Luckily someone was pulling out as we pulled in or we would not have gone in!

Our first visit. One of us had an omelet with grits and toast. The other had biscuits and gravy and scrambled eggs. We each enjoyed our breakfast. The restaurant was clean and the service was excellent.

Leo's first time here and he was very satisfied with the food and portion size. Our waitress Valerie was very attentive and everything came out quickly. Leo says he will definitely be back.

Lovely atmosphere very welcoming and nice, greeted me once I came thru the door wait was not long prices were decent. I got the gyro omelette with home fries and a order of 1/2 biscuits and gravy will definitely be back coffee was fresh and I was in need of it lol had all my condiments without me even asking thank you so much for the full tummy food was delicious only issue would be parking but you can park in 7-11 they said you will not be towed besides that worth the try if your in the area

Visited Auburndale Main Street Diner for the 1st time, and the service was excellent and fast. All the staff were attentive, helpful, and worked as a team. Loved the staff's energy, loved the breakfast, and freshly homemade soup. Diner was clean, well lit, and spacious. Highly recommended.

We have been coming here for sometime ans everything is so delicious we can't stop coming over. We love it

What a GEM 💎 of a place! I just landed from the west coast to visit my buddy and this is the first place he took me to. What a delicious breakfast I had. He recommended the fried pork chops and it did not disappoint! That fried pork-chop was crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I got me an order of biscuits and gravy and with no doubt it was delicious as well. The customer service was great I don’t remember the name of the servers that came to our table but they were so friendly and great to talk to and joke with. The atmosphere is that of a local diner that people have been going to for decades! Such a homey and special place. I could just tell the diner has so much history and that’s beautiful. Overall if you are new to the city, a local who hasn’t tried or a just a person who passing on by. Definitely stop here! 5 stars recommended!

Absolutely a hidden gem in Polk County! I say hidden but this place is up and popping first thing in the morning. Pamela waited on us and she is super great at her job and kept drinks refilled and southern hospitality on point! Will be back for sure! The food was wonderful!

We love to go here for breakfast. They serve country ham (salty for those who don't know country ham) and the Marco sausage is delicious. Portions are always big and the food comes out hot and fresh.

We had an amazing experience !!!! The diner was packed, it was a Saturday morning but they helped us very quickly! A young man was so excited about the goulash when we were making the line and I had never tried it but I decided to skip it cause breakfast time but it definitely sounds good hahahaha! I got the cowboy burger with onion rings and fried okra Kelv got the country ham and eggs with hash browns and a French toast. Staff was so friendly specially Jonna our weightless, sweetest human! We felt very comfortable and the portions and pricing was indisputably OUT OF THIS WORLD!

Excellent diner...Clean and the waitresses are good....I got the breakfast two separate days and both time the food was cooked promptly and served to me hot...The biscuits are especially good...You can tell they are homemade...I got the omelette breakfast with biscuit and I added a side of sausage gravy...Very good...Will be back to explore more of the menu for sure.

Food was bland. Omelet was a dried out mess with hardly any filling. Eggs Benedict was sorry with the eggs being overhard on it. Service was friendly and restaurant seemed clean. However the food was just not good.

Good food! Portion sizes were big and our bill was not. Had tasty omelet stuffed with veggies and cheese. Home fried potatoes were nicely grilled, not mushy. Husband had good beef soup and shepherd's pie. He had plenty leftover to take home for another meal. Waitress was very attentive and our beverages never ran dry. Would definitely visit again if in the area.

Foods always good service is the best and it's just a friendly place to enjoy breakfast or lunch

3.5/5 stars We saw the Auburndale Main Street Diner was open and decided to give it a try. Diners usually have comfort food and since we had been driving a while, comfort was what we needed. Aili brought us menus and took our drink order. The menu had both breakfast and lunch which was perfect for the time we got there. We decided on a French Dip and an Open Faced Hot Beef. They both came with 2 sides so my husband got French fries and cole slaw and I got mashed and grits to go. The food was tasty, service from Aili was excellent and ambiance was what you expect from a diner. Covid procedures were non-existent. That is the reason they lost one half star. I would go back if I was in the area. Like someone else said, there are many other diners so why not try some place new!

First time here for breakfast which was very good. Waitress wasn't very attentive. I had eggs on toast and my friend had eggs Benedict which she also said was very good. They have a very full menu so I will be back

So I rarely give 5 stars. However, we love this location. The Wait staff makes you feel welcome one foot in the door. Sometimes more than one is serving you a drink. The food is better quality American diner style run by Greeks. You see the influence in some dishes plus traditional wonderful Greek dishes. The Greek dishes are a plus but can't forget all the other types we had breakfast here with family. They have a fresh specials every day. I had grilled cod today and I know fish can be a risk at many places, their grilled cod was moist and flavorful with no fishy taste. We were both impressed with the fish. Got coleslaw, was crunches and fresh how we like it. Wife had fried chicken and she said it was good. It's nice you can have breakfast or lunch and either is equally good so you don't have to miss out.

Absolutely amazing! I'm from out of town, and some family took me to this place for lunch, and I did not regret going at all. The service was top tier, and the food was delicious. Loved the small town feel, while at the same time it was very popular. 10/10 overall.

Very good place to eat, I would highly recommend if you haven't tried it you should try it. Hospitality here is amazing. Food is very delicious and fresh, also restaurant is very clean and organized. Now this is a Diner in that I will keep going to over and over. Huge shout out to the employees there.

I was traveling through the small towns of Florida in search for that place, you know the place that could make all your dreams come true. In the city of Auburndale, Florida off Main Street lays the diamond in the rough and it's named Main Street Diner. I parked in front with its limited parking space. From the outside, at first I felt as if I was about to enter the twilight zone and was hesitant to exit my 1989 Ford Pinto. But something inside whispered to me "Jay, this is the place. Your father commands you to enter and break bread." I exited old miss (my 1989 Ford Pinto) and grabbed the front door of the restaurant and saw on it "Closed on Sunday's". I knew than this was the Lords doing and quickly ran inside and found a seat. A young country lady said "How ya doing" with this country accent and it made me feel like I was in an episode of HeeHaw. I almost wanted to walk outside and grab a small twig, put it in my mouth so that it hung to the side so I looked like a country boy. She took my order and my order was for the lunch special of 'Country Boys Meatloaf', green beans, mashed potatoes, fried pickles and a glass of sweat iced tea. The food arrived and as soon as I took my first bite I literally stood up on my table and yelled "YeeeHaaa". I knew at that exact moment I had found true happiness. Thank you Main Street Diner

I've never had a bad meal here. Whether it is breakfast or lunch, food is always top-notch. The service is quick and the restaurant is clean. Being very open, this restaurant may not be the best for people who have hearing deficit. But there is a little bit of a side room that is less noisy. This is a very family friendly place. Everyone who lives here, eats here.

Looking for a nice new lace to have breakfast or lunch this is the place to come. It's affordable and the staff is wonderful and if there is a wait you will not wait for long. They know how to get you in and seated at a reasonable amount of time.

Drove by here on Labor Day when not much was open in town. Limited menu so I had the au jus roast beef dip with sweet potato fries. It was delicious. They were closing early but they never rushed us.

We've never been here & decided to try it for breakfast. I ordered the gyro omelet and my husband had eggs & ham. Everything was just ordinary - nothing special at all. It seemed like any other diner that orders everything from Sysco or the like. We both had a side of French toast that looked & tasted like it was reheated from frozen. They also seem to add an upcharge for any simple tweek you make to a menu item & even charge 3% for using a bank card. We found it pretty disappointing and will not be back.

They give exactly what a small town diner should. Great service with Quality food and a clean environment. Staff are friendly and on point. Food is made fresh and tastes great with daily lunch specials.

Just a typical great food, good service, reasonably priced diner. They had a shortage of some items they couldn't get but what we did have was excellent. They had lots of wait staff so the service was also excellent. The food was good and I liked the portion size

This place is busy for a reason. Come for breakfast or lunch... there is good home cooking here at an extremely reasonable price. The coleslaw is better that I can make (and boy is THAT hard for me to admit). They also make some of their own dressings. Most meals will feed 2 people or you can take home leftovers for dinner. There is also a senior/kids menu to get smaller portions for less money, which we appreciate. The service here is above average... super friendly and very clean. There is no reasonable request that will be denied. The menu is diverse, so there is something for everyone, but note that they are not open for dinner.

This is a decent diner with inexpensive breakfast and lunch offerings. The food is good however my criticism is that I do not like crispy bacon and they will not special order. As it was explained by the server they pre cook all the bacon early and apparently refuse to make a special order. Although we liked this place with other options such as Tom', Charlie's and Herby's in the area that are more accommodating this is no longer a destination for us.

With so many diners to choose from in the area, this one isn't one I'll try again. The corned beef hash was over cooked, the pancakes were thick, gummy, and heavy; the food overall was unremarkable. As an aside, the diner was packed, staff and guest were not observing social distancing, and people waiting for tables were allowed to crowd into the diner and stare at customers while waiting.

Lots to love and a little to question. Pros: Good food, gracious service, clean but old interior. Cons: The parking, lack of attention to detail and anticipation of needs. Absolutely loved the food. The service was quick and attentive even for a to go order. The seating for to go orders felt like a corral. I have a suspicion its for waiting for table overflow. The food was excellent and well worth the price. When I did dig in though, I was surprised to find sub-par white and rye toasts but the biscuits were great. A note on service, I felt very individual here but anticipation is there but could be much better. I mentioned never eating here so I was handed a menu but not one to take home. I did look in the bags for one and nothing. Missed a step in getting a customer to return. It is hard to find a menu online. There is an app somewhere but I couldn't find it. So the to go menu would have been great. I know its a small thing but attention to detail like that wouldn't go unnoticed.

This is your old school, small town diner. The decor is simple and looks like it has not been touched in years. The menu is simple, but hits all the musts for a diner. The staff is very friendly. The parking lot gets jammed up, so you may have to park on the street. The food was pretty good. I chose the two eggs, scrambled, with sausage and home fries. The eggs were standard. The sausage was pretty good as were the home fries. The toast was quality too. There is not much to write about it as it is standard diner fare. The portions are pretty good and it is reasonably affordable. If you are looking for a traditional breakfast this is a solid choice.

It's a nice little local diner with friendly staff. Pricing is good and they have a good amount of menu items to choose from.

Wow!!! What service, you can tell this is a local favorite!! The service is fast, the atmosphere one of a local diner and the service is friendly and welcoming. Audrey was the best server ever with great recommendations when asked.

I would like to say Me and my family usually never have a problem. Usually if something's a little off we won't say anything. So I got the pork chops(fried) and eggs breakfast. My brother usually gets it and it looks delicious, most days. So when I first got the port chop it looked soggy like the oil wasn't hot. So I asked the waitress if they could drain it better. I was very polite, said please and thank you. I don't like to make a fuss. I thought okay, they will remake it. Cause anything that's been given back in food industry has to be thrown away. You don't know what the person has done. She then brings me back the SAME pork chop. It looked like the pork chop was soggier. Like they "degreased it" with a napkin. The breading was soggy. So not to make a fuss I ate everything else and gave the pork chop away. I know it's cheap prices. If Wendy's can fry chicken crispy you should be able to with a pork chop.

Good food, large portions. Even when busy, service is quick. Servers make sure your drinks are full. Great place to eat.

Not the best breakfast I have ever had but the food was good. Very busy diner but be aware that the parking lot is very small and it is likely that you will have to park on the street and walk to the diner. Despite being packed, the service was fast and we received our order about 5 minutes after ordering.

The food is always great here. Real food made from scratch, not what I call "plastic food" that comes from so many of the fast food places. Be sure to come early, the parking lot is quite small and the customer base is large. The hours are short-- they serve breakfast and lunch so if you are one to lollygag about and don't get moving, you will miss out.

Home cooked food is always delicious here. I often order the liver and onions which is lightly breaded and grilled perfectly. Sweet potato fries are thickly cut and fresh. Food is consistently great and doesn't disappoint!

If you're looking for a small-town country diner, you will love this place. My eggs were cooked perfectly, the rye toast was great, and portions were heavy. I loved being able to get a Greek salad with breakfast, a treat you'll find in many of the local diners here. Very good and we will definitely be back.

Don't let Dunkin Donuts accross the street suck you in. This is a real local diner, cooking real food at fair prices. We were in Auburndale for a soccer tournament last year and ate here Saturday and Sunday morning...the whole family loved it. We will be doing the same this weekend as we travel to Auburndale for another soccer tournament. Can't wait!! The only downside, limited parking and you may have to wait as it seems to be a popular place.

The food was fine typical greasy diner food, but I'd expected cheaper prices. Nothing to rave about as far as food. Service was good too. I was uncomfortable there with my family for breakfast since the other clientele was loudly cursing and demeaning women... They seemed to be two lawn service companies. If it was my business I'd gone to them and asked them to keep it down or change the subject.

Great breakfast cheap and fast. Coffee was just perfect only wish they had splenda. The waitress was on top of things.

I moved to Auburndale about a year ago and found the Main Street Diner. My wife and I have been there 8 or 10 times and I enjoy the small town feel. I don't get there as often as I would like to but hope to in the future. All the ladies waiting tables are very nice and take care of their customers. Food is always good and it seems that all the locals frequent the place. Prices are good and you just can't beat it for a quick bite to eat.

We had tried for weeks to get into this place because had gotten several referrals from others. Finally we were able to get a parking spot. We were seated right away. And our referrals were right... service excellent, food was cooked properly and was very tasty, priced right.

The server was very nice and attentive. The food was good and the atmosphere welcoming. There is limited parking on site but available close by. You feel at home.
