If you are in Cheticamp, you HAVE to stop here. I wish I took a photo of the pastries but they didn’t last longer than 10 seconds in our hands. They were some of the best I’ve ever had. My only regret is not ordering more. Delicious, affordable and wide variety. 10/10 must visit

We stopped here while killing time while the Gypsum Mine trail reopened. The prices were really good (I got a chocolate cupcake for 95cents) and the quality was high. I will definitely stop back next time I'm passing through to get to the highlands.

We probably got like eight different pastries from here and only spent $10. Everything was really amazing and fresh. I loved the oatmeal cranberry chip cookies and the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. The croissants are really good and I loved the chocolate croissant. They have some picnic tables outside and bathrooms inside.

This bakery is an absolute gem on the drive to Cabot Trail! Everything on the menu is delicious and super reasonably priced. We tried the red velvet cupcake, lemon tarts, coconut cream pie, scones and cheese croissant and all of them were fantastic. The cheese croissant and red velvet cupcake were particularly great. We ended up coming back on our way home to grab more!

Aucoin Bakery is worth the stop, don't waste your time with Robin's. Aucoin Bakery prices are very fair and the baked goods are even better. The Date squares are tasty same with the Cinnamon rolls. Over flow parking just past the house on the left. One thing that bothered me was there was no trash can by the picnic tables.

We were only staying in town a couple of days and couldn’t resist (why would we?) getting something - anything- from a local good bakery. We stopped in to get a couple of sandwiches to take with us on our trip north to do the skyline trail. We should have gotten some fresh pastries… they looked amazing. Our sandwiches were good. Definitely recommend!

Google
Very disappointing. Made a special stop based upon a recommendation from a fellow traveller on the Cabot Trail. You’d expect a “French” bakery to at least have something resembling a baguette on offer, but all the bread and sandwiches were pretty sad looking. I’ve had better at the airport. The coffee (no chance of an espresso or French press here) was equally pedestrian, and the only seating was two picnic tables beside the parking lot. NOT what I would call a French bakery.

Google
We bought the tastiest treats here! Scones, cinnamon buns, fritters. There were donuts, as well as muffins, turnovers, and breads. There are some sandwiches too, along with meat pies which we are told they will sell by the slice later in the season, they are only sold as whole pies right now. No seating, so grab extra napkins for the car. Did I mention the cinnamon buns?

Yelp
Must stop here!!! A great bakery with a wide variety of breads. Several sandwiches ready to go for a hike. Lots of yummy treats post hike. Absolutely recommend Viva Chocolate Brownies, plural because you can't stop with just one, so get two.

Yelp
If you find yourself in Cape Breton, Aucoin Bakery is an absolute must-visit for dessert and bakery items. Trust me, their cheese croissants are out of this world, possibly the best you'll ever taste. And make sure to indulge in their delectable blueberry puff pastry and red velvet cupcake, they are simply irresistible. Although we couldn't try everything on offer, we now regret not doing so. Everything is made fresh daily, right behind the store front. I highly recommend experiencing the sheer joy of trying a piece of everything they have. Aucoin Bakery is a gem you don't want to miss!

Yelp
Not bad but not worth the hype. If you want pretty good baked goodies and bread at relatively cheaper prices, this is a good stop. Got the apple fritter, crusty roll and molasses loaf to-go. Everything was fine, good to munch on during a roadtrip and didn't break the bank. While I wouldn't go out of my way to pass by here, if you're in the area and craving a treat, you could do worse.

Yelp
Decided to get something since seeing a lot of 4-5 stars ! Very good in social distancing - only allowed 3 customers one time ! We bought 6 cinnamon roll for $3.49, price is good but tasted so doughy - Croissant- not crispy at all Scones - fresh n ok Carrots cake - moist and ok Staff was not showing welcoming at all. Won't go again !

Yelp
Nice bakery on the Cabot trail. We tried their butter tarts, delicious they were, could taste the butter. It was pretty busy but the service was equally fast. The only thing we didn't like was hot coffee in a Styrofoam cup. They have lots of pies, squares and bagel options, few sandwiches.. nice bakery to refuel.

Yelp
A must stop for anyone touring the Cabot Trail, Aucoin is a mainstay serving up freshly baked goods at incredibly reasonable prices! Skip the cookies and cinnamon rolls (they're unfortunately dry and flour-y), but the butter tarts and cupcakes were among the best I've ever had. The donuts are decent, too.

Yelp
Saw many good reviews of this Bakery in Cheticamp so had to give it a try. Say goodbye to Keto on this trip. Got an apple fritter and large cinnamon roll. Visually I expected more from the cinnamon roll and not sure I'd classify it as large, but was fresh and delicious. We arrived just before the lineup but can see it likely gets quite busy. Worth the stop.

Yelp
Bread is very good. Especially white and buns. Croissants are yummy and you must try Acadian Meat pie. Pies are very good and the fresh sugar donuts make me think of my grandmother.

Yelp
Don't understand the hype about this place. Got the date bar which was literally so sweet it made me slightly nauseous the rest of the day. The blueberry scone was good. And the macaroon was good, but.... whatever. You can buy this in any co-op within 50 miles, at least. The bakery itself is hot, line is long, and only seating is outside, and only a few tables at that. Nothing special.

Yelp
Wow! Everything we tried was absolutely amazing! The blueberry loaf was a sweet delicious pound cake, the blueberry and apple turnovers flaky and crisp and the scones had such a beautiful texture. The ladies who worked there were so kind and patient as we decided what all we wanted to order. It was so delicious we went back for a second round!
google avatar

Yelp
They did not have the recommended butter tarts, so we got the chocolate croissant and blueberry turnover instead. The croissant wasn't anything extraordinary, but the turnover was. The entire bakery smelled absolutely divine. They had a restroom and it was very clean. You could visually see all the different baked goods being made through a door by a counter. There's also a small number of parking spaces available in the lot. A good stop before heading further along the Cabot trail!

Yelp
Twice now I have visited this little bakery when visiting the Cabot Trail. Their bread, cookies and donuts have been what I have ordered, I am happy to admit I have ordered the same twice. There isn't allot of choice for a bakery along the Cabot Trail, so this little spot is a nice stop.

Yelp
This is an adorable little bakery! We got our breakfast here the two mornings we spent in Cape Breton and loved it.

Yelp
Our absolutely favourite bakery ever / the bread, rolls, meat pies, donuts, cookies, croissants AND pizza dough are all amazing! You must stop here!

Yelp
We stumbled on La Boulangerie on our trip through Cheticamp, and we were amazed at the quality of baked goods! We tried a wide variety of their pastries and we were struck by the remarkable quality of everything we tried. Truly worth a stop on your way through the area!

Yelp
Fantastic bakery in Cheticamp on Cape Breton Island. We went there multiple times and had a wide variety of muffins, bagels, bread and coffee. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Grabbed an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie and some dinner rolls to snack on as we went about the Cabot Trail. This place was packed with people waiting to sample their yummy goodies.

Yelp
Always delicious, and always somewhere I stop on my trips to Cheticamp. I WISH I could have gotten a coconut cream pie but we ran out of time. HOWEVER, I will always recommend the honey glazed donuts and the beef and pork meat pies.

Yelp
Delicious!! A little piece of France. Croissants so fluffy, I was in love. I gave them four stars because tea options, they only had a red rose black tea. Additionally, they were not willing to accommodate a sandwich made from ingredients already available within the bakery. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you!

Yelp
Grabbed a few pastries one morning on our way out of Chéticamp and they were EXCELLENT. I got the chocolate croissant and wish I had bought two! Pretty sure nearly everything is baked fresh daily. Really nice variety of breads and sweets.

Yelp
If the smells from this bakery do not entice you, I suggest you get your sniffer checked! Not many things beat the smell of freshly baking breads and sweets. We stopped in and picked up sandwiches for our day of hiking through the national park, and then, stopped by again and got the sampling of desserts. This place is a must try in Cheticamp!

Yelp
The best Bakery ever. The bread, rolls, pies and cinnamon buns are amazing. Look forward to visiting Aucoin Bakery every year. The staff is great! See you next year! :)

Yelp
Delicious. Everything we ate was yum yum yum. Bagels, scones, croissants, donuts. Service was awesome too.

Yelp
Wow. Great, great bakery. There's another Aucoins bakery on the Cabot trail, don't go there. Not the same. By the way, there are hundreds of Aucoins in this area. The family was one of the original settlers here.

Yelp
Excellent coffee and pastries plus grabbed sandwiches to bring into the park. Friendly staff and excellent location on the way into the park made this a no brainer!

Susan W.

Yelp
Took a walk on Skyline trail today in the rain. Needed something to warm up with and found this delightful bakery on the way back into town. Fresh decaf coffee was made for me and we tried a chocolate croissant a macaroon and a donut. All were heavenly! They had all kinds of baked goods and pies plus sandwiches and meat pies. Truly a great stop! Wish we could bring some home!

Yelp
After a beautiful drive up the west coast of Cape Breton, I came across this little bakery just outside of Cheticamp. The place has the most amazing pastries, bread, and baked goods. I can honestly say I've never had a better apple turnover in my life! It was so flakey and fresh - it was actually still warm! Other items I tried (bites of things others in my family bought) were just as good. This place is a true gem. If you're doing the Cabot Trail do not miss this bakery.

Yelp
This is a great bakery operated by people who know what they are doing. Picked up fresh bread, date bars, donuts, and oatmeal cookies. All were fantastic with that special homemade taste. After that what else can you say?

Victoria V.

Yelp
The pastries here are amazing. I had the chocolate croissant which was just as good as those I had in France. My friends had their scones and they said they were equally as good.

Yelp
Wow what an awesome stop along the Cabot Trail, the chocolate croissants are by far the best I ever had. Everything is fresh and good. Must stop along the way.

M G.

Yelp
Didn't try their coffee, but bought some excellent croissants and muffins. If we hadn't been starting the drive, we would have also bought one of their amazing looking pies!

Filippo A.

Yelp
Good baking, a great way to start the day. The doughnuts are excellent. Chocolate croissants are awesome too.
