Audiopile

Went in the store with my girlfriend for the first time, she found one of her favorite Japanese artist’s vinyl so we took a test listen before deciding on if we wanted to buy it. When we were done we wanted to put the vinyl back and to look around more, as I was doing that one of the workers (tall, male) came and said give it to me, and I said wow great thanks for the help and walked away. Then he came up behind me after and in front of all the customer said very loudly “next time don’t test listen a 90$ record, pick a 5$ record.” Like what? Price aside, why would I test another record if the 90$ is what I was interested in? That’s like saying I go to a shoe store and I am interested in the 100$ runner, the store worker says next time don’t try the 100$ runner on, you can only try the 5$ sandals. Absolutely atrocious attitude, won’t ever go back.

Audiopile has always been a good spot, but now with its expansion, it is a contender for best record store in the GVA. SUPER fair prices!! I saw some records in the new arrivals bin priced at under $25 that were $40 to $50 dollar records at most shops. They also have a pretty cool cassette section. Lots of punk rock, when I was there, which is incredibly rare. Punk tapes don't usually make it to old age lol. They have Cd's too. They may be open to cash deals on used stuff if you're buying a few things. Don't low ball them though. Their prices are already super fair.

I'm giving 5 stars because I found 2 Daft Punk albums. I tried highlife records down the street and the owner told me he constantly runs out of daft Punk albums within hours ever since they broke up and retired. Highlife asked me what albums I was looking for, I said homework and discovery. He said good luck because people always snatch them up as soon as they get any. Then I tried painted Lady records, nothing. So I tried this place and found both albums mint condition. I also picked up a Robert Miles Dreamland album. All fairly priced. I'm power wheelchair bound so I couldn't navigate the stores isles but all staff were super helpful grabbing them for me so yes they are wheelchair accessible. You just have to ask for help.

I am a pretty passionate vinyl collector and have visited record stores around the world. Audiopile for its diminutive size packs a powerful punch. Inventory is always vibrant and seriously innovative.Always something great to buy on the “Power Wall”.This is not your snobby, exclusive “High Fidelity” like experience. The staff here are super knowledgeable, inclusive and downright funny and good natured if not slightly overworked. Well done Audiopile.

Mellow vibe, chill music playing, a calm and quiet place to browse. I REALLY appreciate how tidy and organized the store is. Good job keeping it neat. Nice, polite staff. Helpful but not intrusive at all. I'm from Edmonton and I found more vinyl here from Edmonton bands than I do at record stores in my own city, haha! Nice selection on 45s to browse through as well. I love the stamp card system! Not enough stores have stamp cards anymore honestly. One stamp for every $10 spent?! That thing fills up nice and quick, and can be redeemed for $10 off.
