Best clam cakes. Best traditional lobster roll. Great fried calamari. Local “do not miss it you’ll be sorry” place. Eat in & take out both great.

One Star for the Fish, Five Stars for the Clamcakes, and a Gold Medal in Endurance Waiting After a scenic drone meetup at Point Judith Lighthouse, my family, a friend all the way from Arizona, and I descended upon Aunt Carrie’s in Narragansett like seafood-loving pilgrims in search of fried glory. What we found was a culinary rollercoaster with clamcake highs and fish-and-chip-flavored heartbreak. Let’s start with the good: the clamcakes were magnificent. Big, golden, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. We passed them around like treasure. If I could have filled a kiddie pool with them and just swam in clamcake joy, I would have. But then came The Fish and Chip. Singular. Not “chips.” Just... chip. Because the real tragedy here was the fish. I don’t know what happened in that kitchen, but it looked like my fish got halfway dressed, gave up, and walked out onto the plate in shame. I ordered fish and chip, not fish and breadcrumb suggestion. It had the texture of a paper towel and the flavor of tap water. If this was their idea of fried seafood, someone needs to sit them down and explain what beer batter is. Aunt Carrie’s is located by the ocean. The fish should taste like Poseidon himself blessed it. Instead, it tasted like regret and missed opportunities. As if that wasn’t enough, I got to stand in line for 40 minutes to place my order while a single heroic woman ran the entire front counter like she was in a one-person stage play called "Fried and Furious: Seafood Drift." I’m disabled, and there was nowhere to sit, no one to help, just me and the slow march of time as the line wrapped around like we were waiting for concert tickets instead of lunch. To be fair, once we did order, the food came out impressively fast. Ten minutes tops. I thought maybe they'd used a time machine. Turns out, when the fish has no batter, it takes zero time to cook. So here’s the bottom line: Aunt Carrie’s serves amazing clamcakes, and the location is great. Go there for that. Avoid the fish and chip like it’s been cursed. I honestly believe the fish was just a practical joke played by the ocean gods. Or maybe it was a dare. Either way, if this is how Aunt Carrie’s does fish and chip, they should consider removing it from the menu and replacing it with literally anything else. Maybe a rock. Or a picture of what fish and chip should look like. 3 stars for the experience, minus 2 for the fish. Would return for clamcakes. Would not forgive the fish.

My first time having clam cakes. Overall, the food was too greasy; even for fried seafood it was a bit much.

Aunt Carrie’s has been around for years, their food used to be the best around. The food has become average because of tourists season. Their homemade bread and calamari were the best thing we ate that day. They have indoor seating but no Air conditioning.

Saw it on an old episode of Diners, Drive Ins and Dives and had to try it! Did the takeout window, not the sit down restaurant. Staff wasn't particularly friendly, but I have to take into account that I am from the south and am friendly to a fault 😂 They got the job done! Chowder - very good! 3 varieties to try. Very potato heavy, but good flavor! Clam cakes - More of a fritter, lots of fried dough with some chunks of clam in it. Very tasty, very greasy, great for dipping soup! Whole-Belly Clams - FABULOUS!!! 🤩 It's been a while since I have actually found whole clams on my yearly Rhode Island trips. The best!!

Our food was genuinely bad. We each got fish and chips and clam chowder, and both were not good. The fish was bland, not crispy, and was genuinely a struggle to finish. The fries were okay with a decent crunch. The clam chowder was very soupy and was a bit more flavorful than the fish. The service was very fast, and the staff were nice, and the atmosphere was great, I just really wish the food were good.

First time being there and the chowder, I got white and it was like, broth. It was not thick and creamy, the potatoes were raw. There was hardly any clams in it. And when I bit into my clam cake, it tasted like pure oil. So then I threw my food away because it was disgusting, and I went Half a block up the street to Iggy's, where the chowder was delicious and creamy. The clam cakes were fresh and good, and the doughboys were unbelievable on Carrie's socks. It was the worst chowder I have ever had. I've lived in the state my whole life. I will never go there again. Waste of money. 0 stars.

Google
What can I say. Classic Rhode Island eatery. Real New England vibe here. Great food and awesome ice cream across the street. The kids got a free ice cream with a kids meal too. The steamers were the best I've ever had.

Marilee C.

Yelp
I've been coming here every summer since I can remember. The clam cakes are my gold standard and I used to get a loaf of the cinnamon raisin bread to make French Toast at home. Then I needed to eat gluten free and now I can't eat any of my old favorites. The chowder is gluten free, but there are very limited other options. No gluten free bread or buns available. Steamers, steamed lobster, and broiled sea scallops are really the only options for take out, besides the chowder. If you can eat fried food, you should definitely come visit and eat some clam cakes and a clam roll with fries for me.

Joe P.

Yelp
Aunt Carrie's is a great seafood restaurant located in southern RI. The clam cakes are great as well as the chowder. This restaurant was featured by Diner Drive-ins and dives. Not fancy but if you want great food in RI, this is it.

Claudia Z.

Yelp
It hit me as we were eating our ice cream that I had heard of Aunt Carrie's. I whipped out my phone & googled DDD (that's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives to the uninitiated) & Guy Fieri did a segment on Aunt Carrie's Restaurant featuring their clam cakes & chowdah. They fry their clam cakes in beef fat & yes, it gives them a different taste. Their white chowder was less creamy than traditional New England. Please don't hate me but I still prefer Iggy's clam cakes & chowder. But I'm glad that we tried the combo & their staff was lovely!

Yelp
I'm Reviewing the Seafood Restaurant building of Aunt Carrie's not the ice cream Parlor since it is clearly managed differently in each building. The clam Cakes were huge and they were meaty and delicious the portions of the fried Calamari were big. They were tasty too though I didn't care too much for the fries on the side. They were kind of on the cold side of things My wife had the steamers and another member of our party had the coconut shrimp and both were very satisfied with their dishes. The atmosphere was cozy and quaint Typical seafood shack decor The service wasn't exactly perfect the drinks came in a can which to me is always tacky for a sit down restaurant to serve and they didn't have Diet Coke among their Coca Cola products . We all had to settle for Coke Zero which really isn't the same thing . Plus the fact that after we were done eating we had to wait 20 minutes for our check . That'll always cost you a star IMO They gave us free vouchers for kids ice cream across the street in their ice cream parlor and gift shop with a purchase of a kids meal But it wasn't worth it . They said it would be 40 minutes to serve the kids ice cream. Aunt Carrie's seafood restaurant was decent but their ice cream shop absolutely sucked.

Yelp
I don't see what the big deal about this place is. There staple dish, clam cakes were not good all greasy and doughy with little to no clams. Then I ordered shrimp roll and it was gross I didn't even want to eat it. There's no A.C inside but it's manageable. Outdated in the inside but that's expected. Service was good just a lot of people there. It's not worth it

Camille T.

Yelp
Absolute worst service I've experienced in a long long time. Truly. I know this is a huge tourist spot, so we expected there to be a lot of people and a wait. It took 40 minutes to get a table. And by the time the "host" seated us (he's just a snarky teenager), there were 3 empty tables for up to 4 in the front section. When I got up to go to the bathroom, there were seven (count that - SEVEN) empty tables in the back. It takes the busboys a good 5-10 minutes to clear the tables once a they've been vacated. Our waitress took 10 minutes before she even came over and asked for our drinks. We waited a further 30 minutes before our food came. When the food did come, the broiled scallops were burnt, and the fish and chips resembled curled up pieces of ribbon that had been fried to within an inch of their lives. You couldn't actually even taste the fish. It was all breading. So overall, a huge disappointment and not worth the $72 for 2 plates and 2 kids meals. We live about 45 minutes away, and we try to hit up these iconic landmarks at least once a summer. I won't be coming back.

Stacey C.

Yelp
We've been coming here since I was a kid. I don't like seafood, but their clam cakes are always a hit. Most of the employees are younger, so expect to see them on a phone at one point. Service was fine. Burger was a little greasy, but good. When you're done, head across the street to get some ice cream. If you're looking for soft serve though, this isn't the place.

Yelp
Last review we had yet to move back home to RI and finally moved back in 2020. Nothing has changed! I guarantee you a fantastic bowl of chowder ( you have to do RI clear style) and clam cakes FULL of clams. We popped in opening weekend this spring and were not disappointed! Today, my spouse grabbed chowder and clam cakes to go. It was still deliciously warm when it arrived home and he has perfected reheating clam cakes in the air fryer. Grab a dozen and sit outside at the provided picnic tables or take them down to the beach. You'll be glad you did!! Oh, one more thing...homemade raisin bread, take it home and make French toast...AMAZING!

James L.

Yelp
What a disappointment it took us 8 years and a 5 hour drive that being said I wanted to try everything table for 2 was way 2 small for what we ordered with no bus boys to clean off the table I got up and cleaned.. the waitress was miserable and made Our dining experience worse the food was not fit for human consumption

Douglas J.

Yelp
Chowder w/Milk is wonderful. Lots of history with the restaurant and eating there kind of takes you back to a simpler time. Highly recommend.

Rmp0110 P.

Yelp
Second time visiting this place, disappointed both times! The Fish and Chips is a waste of money! I don't think they could have found a thinner piece of Fish! Worse than that is the Seafood Box! $32.99 It sounds like you're getting a lot but don't be fooled! We spent $115.16 Never again! I won't go back a 3rd time!

L A.

Yelp
This was a huge disappointment and came highly recommended as the place to go. Overpriced. Tourist trap. Ordered fried shrimp that were clearly frozen bagged shrimp grocery store quality. We got our order to go to bring back to our campsite and only to see that half our order was missing. And they don't make it easy to talk to someone to resolve problem. Had to leave a message. And then had to reach out on Facebook to be able to explain our concern. But I will say once we talked to someone they were apologetic and did credit us for the missing food items. But with all this being said. Won't be returning.

B W.

Yelp
The BEST clam shack in New England. Family owned, alway reliably delicious fresh seafood, baked bread, desserts, the view, service...etc etc.

Brian B.

Yelp
Inflated prices for mediocre seafood. $29.00 for a lobster roll that doesn't come with fries. Waitress said a pickle, that wasn't served. Stuffed quahog with no flavor, few bits of clam and very small. I won't be back.

Ed K.

Yelp
Had to visit Aunt Carries while in Rhode Island on vacation. It it is not a fine dining restaurant, but it is a fun, rustic place that has been in business 100 years, and I last visited about 20 years ago so it was on my list this trip. The clam cakes are HUGE so warning - don't order a half dozen like I did unless you plan to take 3-4 home. My wife liked the fish and chips, with a light breaded fish. As others mentioned, the "milk" clam chowder though was thinner than expected, so that could be improved. Plenty of parking with more across the street, and excellent, friendly table service. All in all a nice place for lunch on a sunny day. And even better to finish off lunch with great ice cream just across the street!

Alaina R.

Yelp
I had heard about Aunt Carries for a while now. So I thought I would come check it out. I ordered the white clam chowder, which I was extremely disappointed with. The soup was very watery. Not your traditional thick and hearty clam chowder. Which I was really looking forward to having that night. I also got the seafood platter which was okay. I will be trying another place for chowder from now on.

Marjorie M.

Yelp
We came here while in the area over the weekend. This was our first time coming here at suggestion of friend. There was plenty of parking near the place and across the street. There were also options to dine in or take out. We chose to take out. There was a pretty long line but it moved at a decent pace. I had clam strip platter and friend had clam cakes and the clam chowder. The clam cakes was very bready with very little pieces of clam. Overall, the food was okay.

Constance T.

Yelp
These are the best clamcakes in Rhode Island! Aunt Carrie's achieved the perfect clam-to-cake ratio-- I love all the nubbins. Every cake was hot and well-shaped (which I find is rare to see). The ambiance of the restaurant matches Point Judith perfectly. Thank you Aunt Carrie's!

Kathryn T.

Yelp
Love their chowder!! And I love their service and their seating in the summer. It's just one of those nostalgic places. Also their strawberry rhubarb pie is EXCELLENT :) love going here and will continue to do so for many years to come

Susan M.

Yelp
This is a beachy rustic clam shack offering takeout as well as dine in. For what it is, it's solid. Enormous clam cakes, chowders, fish and chips, burgers. They offer a large menu. Dining there has its advantages. They serve fantastic homemade raisin bread. To. Die. For. You can also soak up the beach vibe you can walk down to the edge of the water. We have never had a problem parking and seating is pretty quick if there is a wait. I recommend this RI gem. It's an experience on a summer day.

Margaret P.

Yelp
Service and ambience were fine. Clam cakes are VERY short on clams and the fried whole belly clams were soggy and lacked flavor. Have been coming here since childhood but will not return

Rozet S.

Yelp
Pretty great spot in Narragansett! Had to stop by for a last lobster roll before the fall/winter season begins. Although it was small, it was delicious! We also ordered the calamari and fries, they were great!

Liz G.

Yelp
Had a good meal with good service. Whole belly clams were a little n the small side but very tasty.

Jennifer K.

Yelp
I have been going to Aunt Carrie's since my childhood but I'm not sure that I'll be making the trip anymore. The food was ok but no better than that. We ordered calamari and fried clam strips and frankly both seemed like they were purchased frozen from costco. There was so little flavor and the clam strips were all breading. Nothing was BAD but it was just disappointing and overall not worth the price.

Lee S.

Yelp
I am shocked by some of the reviews here - yes, there is a long line and it's not cheap, but it's an institution for a reason. It's delicious!! The lobster roll has huge chunks of lobster meat and is very fresh. It doesn't get any better than the classic. We tried the version with bacon and tomato - good, but anything that distracts from the lobster ends up as just that, a distraction. The clam cakes are also best in class - not exactly health food, but you have to treat yourself to a few of you make the trip. We'll be back anytime we're in the area.

Claire W.

Yelp
thought this would be a hidden nook with stellar food but boy was I wrong. The clam chowder lacked seasoning and thickness. the fish in the fish and chips was no fish and all breading. basically scup and not cod. save your money and go to iggy's

Mary R.

Yelp
The worst clam cakes I have ever eaten. They were big, tasteless, with no clams!!! The chowder was watery. The fish and chips were not good either. Batter was dry, crumbly with flat fish, I will never go there again A total waste of my money.

C H.

Yelp
Chowduh and clam cakes. This is a must. Delicious. And don't forget their ice cream joint across the street. Wicked!

TheFoodInspector 1.

Yelp
This place is? How should I put it? It's terrible. Nothing good here folks. Fish and chips are a joke for a place beside the ocean. Hamburgers are plain awful same kind you get from a ranch house type setting. They sell items for over $20 and yes over $30. This place should not be able to sell any dish for more than 18 bucks. At the most this is a quick place for lunch when everyone else is booked but for dinner I would not even step foot in here. Don't bother.

L M.

Yelp
Overall just not good. Total waste of $80. Clamcakes were huge but hardly any clams or flavor to them. Whole belly clams were more like clam strips with hardly any bellies so we definitely didn't get what we paid for...and we paid a lot. Honestly they shouldn't even offer them when they are this bad. Flounder was also tasteless and the batter could have been cooked more. The 1 star I'm giving is for the view, nice server and good service we had. It wasn't his fault the food sucked. I wouldn't recommend wasting your money here.

Digger D.

Yelp
Read the poor reviews about the food. They are all accurate. The clam chowder had no taste, tons of yellow potatoes, no clams and looked like cloudy toilet water. Also, it's not thick like a chowder. It's just a sloppy, watery mess. The fish and chips were bland. Literally no taste.....except the fries but we all know they were frozen and not made by them. The clam strips were greasy, to the point where the container was soak with oil stains. Bland and chewy clam strips that were soggy. The place wat not even that busy. Honestly, I hate to leave bad reviews but Aunt Carrie's food is HORRIBLE. You have been warned!

Jay S.

Yelp
I've been wanting to come here for a few years after I discover that this revered restaurant earned the James Beard America's Classic award back in 2007 and is still frequently mentioned in publications ranging from Yankee magazine, The New York Times to the Food Network. I love finding restaurants that are tried and true, that have been around a long time and have a vintage, casual or homey atmosphere but with exceptional food. Well, I am sorry to say Aunt Carrie would be as disappointed as I was after eating here this warm Saturday evening in June. I ordered a " Complete Dinner" which includes a bowl of chowder instead of a cup for a $1 upcharge, homemade bread basket and a piece of pie. I chose the Seafood Platter which consist of samplings of whole clams, strip clams, shrimp, bay scallops, flounder with french fries and one clam cake what for $33.99. The fresh cinnamon swirl bread offering was tasty and pleasantly old fashioned. The chowder was quite salty and thin, almost broth like with lots of potatoes and not many clams. I am originally from Louisiana and I guess I'm used to seafood a bit tastier and a bit meatier but the shrimp & clams here reminded me of grocery bought Gorton's popcorn shrimp and breaded clams I used to get as a kid. Bay scallops you'd expect to be small, but even these were mighty puny and the single piece of lonely flounder downright anemic! French fries were fine and seafood thankfully was not greasy or overly breaded. Oh, and their claim to fame, the celebrated Clam Cake was an interesting concoction but is just basically a slightly sweet fritter with supposedly a clam buried in there somewhere I couldn't find! I selected Strawberry Rhubarb for my pie and although the fruit had a nice combination of sweet and tart, however the savorless crust was complete let down. Other than the novelty of the Clam Cake fritter, the seafood platter was a run of the mill, a dime a dozen meal you can get at just about any seafood shack along the New England shoreline but this one cost over $50 bucks with drink, taxes and tip. Woefully, for me the best thing about the meal was the lovely view of the sand dunes, ocean and setting sunset.

L L.

Yelp
We were looking forward to coming back to Aunt Carries. I'm curious as to why they spotlight the cinnamon bread. It's white dough with the minimalist of cinnamon sugar. It's as if they let the dough rise and let it cook out in the heat of the sun. It's tasteless rolled lump of flour. Service was fine. I'm not sure why these young kids are ok with serving such beige food. Could be they don't know any better. We ordered the "milk" chowder( who calls it milk?) I call it White chowder or Red chowder. Rhode Island has a clear chowder, it's interesting, but it's more like rock soup. We ordered, along with the Chowder, clam cakes and like everyone says they have one or two clams and sink to the bottom of your stomach. I ordered the lobster roll on Aunt Carries homemade bread. You pay extra for the bread opposed to the split hotdog bun I wish I had gotten instead. The homemade bread is even worse then the cinnamon rolls. I wish I took a picture, I usually do, that's how underwhelming this sandwich was. The bread isn't the worst part, my lobster roll/sandwich was mostly the squishy ends of the claw that is the most inedible part of the lobster. A lobster has two claws so that means 4 little insides of the claw I would expect on a roll,... as I pull out most of them and ate a few. There were probably over a dozen claw tips and TWO nicer, not NICE, pieces of meat. I ate it open face because the ratio of bread to lobster was over the top with bread. So disappointed. My husband got the clam strips, fries and coleslaw. He liked it ok but is could as well come from Dennys. Our check was over $100 for chowder, sandwich and clam strips. I'll never go back. I hope this helps others with their decision on what not to pick from the menu. The place smells the same as I remembered from the only time before that I visited. Musty and soggy. I'm sure it due to being so close to the water. I've been to other restaurants on the water and they smell like food, at least. Every other restaurant was packed that's why we ended up at Aunt Carries. I wouldn't suggest Iggy's, they aren't as good as they used to be either. Go to George's of Galilee!

Yelp
Oh, Aunt Carrie, how I love thee so! This classic seaside gastronomical emporium has been a favorite date spot for me and my boyfriend ever since we were in our awkward "are we friends or are we dating" stage, and has continued to this day! True to form, we visited tonight to celebrate a year since the day we met, and the wonderful food, comforting atmosphere, and cheery service made it the perfect spot to ring in a momentous occasion like this! If you have the time, I would highly recommend sitting down to eat instead of taking your food to go. Not only will the wait time be significantly shorter, but you will also get a chance to sit by the windows and look out to the gorgeous neighboring beach while you consume your weight in homemade clam cakes (or is that just me?). Aunt Carrie's is just like traveling back in time to that clambake scene in "Carousel" before everything goes to hell in a hand basket, so pretend like it's 1902, sit down for a while, and enjoy! The only thing to get here is the complete shore dinner. It's an amazing value at about $25-$28, and comes with a cup of clam chowder (your choice of classic creamy, clear broth, and Manhattan tomato), a side salad, fresh raisin sweet bread, a variety of fish entrees plus sides, and a house made dessert. YUM. Everything is excellent, but I personally love the clear broth chowder, since it doesn't mask the freshness of the shucked-today clams and generous chunks of potatoes. I also gravitate toward the Baked Scrod, with its tender flakiness and buttery crumb crust. Also, don't skip the fries! They're some of the best restaurant fries this side of the Pell Bridge, and I love 'em dipped in some tartar sauce. It's a cheat meal, but worth every calorie! If the option is available, dig into a Strawberry Shortcake for dessert, with sweet strawberries, homemade whipped cream, and a buttermilk biscuit to hold it all together. It's a small upcharge, but I can't think of a better way to end an All-American meal at Aunt Carrie's. Not feeling a full seaside spread? No worries! My boyfriend wasn't as hungry as I was and ordered a classic clam chowder a la carte with two fresh made Clam Cakes as an appetizer, and a Fish Sandwich as an entree. The Clam Cakes are one of their signature items, and super impressive, almost like a seafood fritter that's served piping hot from the fryer and bursting with clams! The Fish Sandwich will serve anyone who likes fried fish well, but I'll stick to it in Fish n' Chips so I can get some of those amazing fries! To each their own, I guess. Our server, Sallie, was awesome! She was super prompt with bringing out our food, checking up on us every so often, and keeping my unsweetened iced tea (free) refilled! We always have a great experience with service at Aunt Carrie's, and tonight was no exception. Put this place at the top of your summer bucket list! It's a hidden gem that you won't want to miss!

Nathan S.

Yelp
While tasty the onion rings are right out of a bag from the freezer. Come on...make onions rings if you're a fry shack! Fish sandwich was literally flavorless and crying for some seasoning. Ice cream is good across the street. Service is pretty quick and ambiance is what you'd expect in a great location.

Frankie L.

Yelp
The New England clam chowder didn't have dill in it like Bennys and Iggys. That was a plus for me however it could have been more creamy and it wasn't hot. The clam cakes were hot and huge but less flavor than Bennys

Ed R.

Yelp
What happened? I am 63 and have been going to Aunt Carries since I was 7 years old. Admittedly, I haven't been to Aunt Carries for about 6 years since I now live in AZ and don't have the opportunity to get to RI as I did when I lived in CT. Part of the reason I made the trip to CT was to go to Aunt Carries. I have some incredible memories of having some great meals with my grandparents, parents, brother and sister. I had what I thought was the clam strip shore dinner for a little over $32.00. A bit pricey, but o.k. The meals used to start with a variety of awesome bread and butter (homemade I think). Then you would get the main course with generous portions served with chowder, their staple clam cakes, steamers etc., etc. When the meal arrived, no bread was served. The chowder came in a really small cup and was watery. The clam strips were mediocre at best, the Cole slaw was very good as was the banana cream pie. To my disbelief, there were no clam cakes. The waitress (who was great) informed me that those were not included with the dinner. Obviously, I misread the menu and ordered the dinner not the shore dinner, so I ordered clam cakes on the side. As soon as I saw the clam cakes, I knew they were very different from what I got the last time I was there. They lacked the crispness, color, and odd shapes they once had. They honestly tasted more like fried dough with a very sparse amount of clams. The $50.00 tab was just not worth the amount you received or the quality of the food. Guys, what did you do? Aunt Carries was one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. If you need to raise prices, I get it, things have gotten expensive. But don't compromise the quality of your product, which clearly has happened here. It is very sad that I am even writing this review. I'll conclude my review with this, you can rest on your laurels and past reputation while cutting the quality of what you once provided for only so long before it catches up with you. Restaurants' come and go. Sadly, I think it is only a short matter of time before Aunt Carries becomes a memory. I know, I won't be coming back, sad.

Yelp
We were out for a nice drive and ended up in narragansett we had our choice of Aunt Carrie's or Iggy's and my husband who remembers Aunt Carrie's from his childhood & we go to Iggys in Oakland Beach all the time convinced me to try Aunt Carrie's. We both had the bowl of chowder with 3 clamcakes combo (and water to drink) me the white him the red. The white was thin milky dirty soap water not thick and creamy like chowder should be. We both felt like they were both way over salted almost like they went to the ocean with a bucket to get water from the ocean heated it up and put potato in it. there were hardly any clams in either the chowders or the baseball size dough balls. i found 2 clams in one clam cake. it was so bad that we just paid the $35 check and left. If you have the choice go next door to Iggys and stay far far away from aunt carrie's

Yelp
To be honest with you, it's hard to believe they can pass this off as food. We ordered five different dinners and only the fried fish was edible. I deconstructed the "award winning " clam cakes so check my photo out for yourself to see the results. It all tasted like old oil. It's such a shame in such a beautiful place like Point Judith, this "food" is allowed to be served. There's not enough Tums I could take to get me to go back. I'd rather go to Champlin's where fried seafood is done right. Aunt Carrie got it's last chance with me, I'm sorry to say it but this place gets only one fork from FORK IT review.

Yelp
My family been going to Aunt Carrie's for generations? Last week after they renovated place, looks nicer, but food was terrible? Clam cakes were gummy and one clam in all three? And were tasteless and Manhattan clam chowder was little watery and my sister fish and chips were awful fish tasted horrible and French fries mushy and awful and raisin bread had no raisins in it and cold and big slices? Whole experience was bad? And use to have stand in line to take number or give your name? Not case we got seated right away and dining room was partially empty and no lines out side waiting to be seated? Yet Jimmie's and George's was standing room only all day and other places too? But not Aunt Carries? Cause food terrible ? Only good thing is as nice waitress? Never again go to Izzy's or George's or Jimmie's! Told everyone don't wasted your money at Aunt Carries , you be sorry

Yelp
This place was quite a shocking experience. We came here because my colleague recommended and I must say I was unsure about it. I was pleasantly surprised, I came here last week and I still can not stop thinking about the delicious lobster BLT which was absolutely delicious to me. I also enjoyed the quahog which was very good and the beers were also delicious. The view to the beach is not clear because of the grass but I would go back here in a heartbeat. I am from New York so I would be back until next summer. I will definitely say come here because everything was amazing including the service, she was so nice. I also enjoyed the calmness of the place; it gave me a home vibe. We went before the lunch rush so we did wait a little bit but it was definitely worth it. We also had the key lime pie which was so good; we should have purchased two slices. I had a blueberry beer and a Narragansett both were delicious.

Yelp
Clam cakes were just "CAKES' doughy and heavy, not a clam to be found! On the bright side seagulls dont seem to mind!

Yelp
Big portions Bigger prices Biggest waits Summary first - your coworker's friend's college-age child works here summers. This seems to be the most true thing I can say about every experience I've had here. However, I'd add that the seafood options are fair, and decently fast. The ice cream/Del's action across the street is tasty, and there are plentiful options of dish- or cone-brimming treats for $5.00-7.00. Just be forewarned you might melt before you have a chance to order. If the line is out to the rope, expect a 35-minute wait with 1 or 2 service windows open. The place is seems like (and is) your standard staple stop in a sleepy summer beach community, so you're probably willing to wait in line pondering your order as the sun passes overhead, but...ya know...maybe pack sunscreen.

Yelp
I CANNOT believe this place is still in business. They get two stars because my husband liked the clam cakes or it would have been one 1 star. The clam chowder is a joke, watery with lots of potatoes. The clam cakes were big and tasteless. However we both love Iggy's and Georgia's restaurants much better.

Yelp
2 stars for their tasty clam cakes, but only two because it is lacking clam meat. I highly advise that you do not get their white chowder. It is not chowder, but more of milk soup with potatoes. I was very disappointed that this was considered New England Clam Chowder.

Yelp
Just went to get some clam chowder. The girl at the register didn't even know what New England clam chowder was, just that they had "milk," clear and red. Got a cup of "milk" chowder and 2 clam cakes. Chowder came out barely warm, had one little soggy clam in the whole cup and tasted like bad onions. Never been that disappointed by clam chowder my life. Clam cake was also not good. Couldn't get myself to eat more then a few bites and threw it out. I feel nauseous now because it was so bad. This place used to be famous but now that they have that title they slack on quality. Do not go here.

Yelp
BIG STATEMENT ! Dare I say it, and feel the backlash of Yelpers? AUNT CARRIES HAS THE BEST CLAM CAKES IN THE GREAT STATE OF RHODE ISLAND! There I said it! 5 stars which is a rarity. Better than Iggies by far! Do yourself a favor and try it for yourself! And chowdahh ain't half bad neither.

Yelp
Stopped by one afternoon and got a lobster roll and clam cakes & chowder. I am not sure if I would wait in a line for this during the peak season but it sure was a special treat to walk on up, order and find a set of adirondack chairs outside waiting for us. The lobster roll was a tad smaller than I would have wanted as it was served on a standard sized hot dog roll and let's face it, hot buttered lobster is nothing to skimp on lol. The chowder is honestly nothing to write home about and compared to other chowders in the area this may be my least favorite. It almost seems like it only consists of 4 ingredients... water, potatoes, chopped clams and a bit of milk. The clam cakes however... are to die for! Golden little nuggets of love!

Yelp
This place disappointed me more than my un-athletic son. I ordered the chowder (with milk) which was thin and flavorless. The clam cakes LOOKED like they were going to be fantastic but were severely lacking in clam and flavor. Considering the mayor of FLAVORTOWN endorsed this place I just expected more. Service was fantastic. David our server was pleasant and helpful. Way to go David.
