Today I was in a mood yo try something vegetarian, and that led me to The Organic Café & Bakehouse. Located in Mysore, this place genuinely surprised me, especially the building itself, made of bricks and designed to allow loads of natural light in. The vibe,,,,, Super calming, bright, and full of life.
Inside, the wooden decors are warm and elegant, and the upstairs seating with its floor-level setup gives off a lovely cultural and heritage feel. Most of the crowd seemed to be foreigners, probably in Mysore for yoga or cultural exchange programs, which added to the laid-back global vibe.
Now to the food. I ordered a lemon cheesecake and a Veg thali. The cheesecake was an absolute win, it was tangy, smooth, and beautifully made. Honestly, one of the best that I have had in a while.
The Veg thali, though… not so much. It was quite underwhelming. The palak dal, mixed veg, everything felt too bland. I get the healthy angle, but for the price, it didn’t hit the mark. If you are looking for a hearty, flavorful Indian thali, there are definitely better spots around.
That said, the café's menu has some good sandwiches and coffee options, and the desserts definitely caught my eye. I will be back, but more for a quiet coffee and cake session, not for a full meal.
