Aura Accommodation

I wanted to stay in a smaller property and Aura was a great choice. I'd say it's medium value-for-money - the rooms are fairly basic, but they have character and are well cared-for. The staff is fantastic - friendly, helpful, upbeat. They have washers/dryers, the pool area is nice (though smaller than the photo appears), and our unit (10) had its own hot tub (which was very clean and functional). The general use hot water areas were a bit institutional / not as relaxing, but still very nice for the area. The property provides fresh milk for everyone. Our kitchen was well-appointed. Parking is easy (one reserved spot per room). We saw several groups of friends having a great time playing cards in each others' rooms and spending time outdoors (grill/pool area) - it has a really nice ambiance. The property is right by the lake and a few blocks outside of Rotorua proper (cars/businesses) so it's quiet and feels safe. We'd recommend this property.

We arrived after hours but the routine for late check in had been clearly communicated so we had no issues getting in after a long day travelling. We touched by the welcome message and the extra something we found in our room. It is the attitude of the team that run this place that really makes the difference from the front of house to the cleaners who were all so friendly and welcoming. We didn't get a chance to try the pool or the hot pools but everything else was great and we couldn't have asked for a better equipped, quiet, comfy room with parking. Loads of places for breakfast or eating in walking distance. Great place.

Such a friendly place. Easy to check in and out. Facilities in the family suite were great- everything we needed to cook and do washing etc- great when touring for a while! Kids loved the on site pool and just being able to go in whenever. Trampoline was a hit too. Great place and would stay again. Would recommend for any families as so close to the lake front and a great park.

This was our second time staying and it gets better every time. The facilities are great, everything you need and more. The Aura is only one block from the center of town and close to lots of amenities. Rooms are clean and comfortable and pools are nice and warm. We will definitely be back again.

One night in Rotorua. A fantastic welcome by Ellen and her team to this nice little apartment. Easy parking outside the door, close to the lake and walking distance to restaurants and shops. Lime cafe next door does an amazing brekkie. |Aura itself is a little ‘tired’ and will soon undergo some updates to the facilities. The great atmosphere and lovely staff make up for a few small areas of shabbiness.|We were only in town for the night and so pleased we chose Aura.

Spent a couple of nights at Aura whilst in Rotorua.|Communication for late check in was excellent and the team the next morning were very friendly and welcoming. Parking was plentiful and free.||Room was comfortable with all the conveniences you would need - our room had a washing machine in the bathroom too with soap powder provided (useful for washing swimsuits after being in the natural springs), refrigerator, tea and coffee making facilities with milk in the fridge for hot drinks and a selection of teas and coffee.|Living room was airconditioned but this was not needed as is was quite chilly.||Beds are comfortable and towels are provided.||The water took a while to get hot but assume this is due to it being geothermally heated.||Whilst there is no food / drink offered it is very close to cafes, bars and restaurants as well as the Eat Street offering a good selection of restaurants.||If coming back to Rotorua I would definitely stay at Aura again.

We had originally booked to stay at Novotel hotel when going to Rotorua, but after checking recent reviews, I instantly cancelled my booking there. I found Aura, and read amazing reviews. And they definitely lived up to these reviews. From the moment of booking, staff were in contact, we arrived late but our keys and room info was easy to find. They had text messaged me with instructions. A basic room but so comfortable and with everything you need, including Netflix and Sky, which the kids absolutely loved (something not many places have). The outdoor heated pool was an absolute hit with the kids. The rooms were warm. So environmentally friendly! And you can send your room service and they donate money to charity. Have never stayed at a hotel that is so personal and has so many great initiatives. Will most definitely be back and will most definitely recommend this place to anyone I know going to Rotorua! Amazing ladies Not to mention, a great location and walking distance to parks, restaurants, cafes.

We had a great stay here! Our children (1 and 4 year old) also loved it. The staff were EXTREMELY helpful. Excellent location too. Comfy beds, nice rooms, warm rooms, VERY warm pool, we loved the place and we highly recommend anyone to stay there :)
