Aurea Ana Palace (Budapest, Hungary) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"For a crash course in Budapest’s historical opulence (in hotel form) one need look no further than the Áurea Ana Palace Hotel, a classic luxury hotel built from a pair of 19th-century palaces on the east bank of the Danube. The public spaces retain much of their original grandeur, in carefully restored form, while the rooms and suites are contemporary creations with generous helpings of antique atmosphere. There’s an expansive spa and wellness center as well as Gastrobar, a versatile upscale restaurant and bar." - Tablet Hotels

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. It was excellent value for money. The hotel is beautiful. Our room was spacious and clean and the bed was comfortable. The room had a large shower and a separate bath as well as a dressing area. The breakfast was exceptional and the breakfast room is beautiful. The hotel is very close to the parliament building and the river Danube. It’s well placed for transport links and was an easy walk to the shopping areas but far enough away to be quiet. We ate dinner in the bar/dining room area one night and the food was very good. All of the staff were excellent. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to return one day.

Beautiful hotel with clean and luxurious rooms. The only thing that made me deduct one star from the overall review was that at breakfast all the warm options from the buffet were just mildly warm, so by the time you sat down to eat, it was all cold.

We stayed in one of the family rooms (2 adults and 2 children aged 5 & 9). They loved how big and spacious the room was, especially as they had their bed upstairs with a bathroom. There was plenty of storage room, a mini-bar, safe, coffee machine etc. The room was always cleaned for the 4 days we were there. ||All staff were really friendly and were always on hand with a smile on their face. Breakfast was very good and lots to choose from, including bacon, scrambled eggs, toast, fruit, pastries, cheeses etc. There was also an inclusive a la carte menu, where I can recommend the eggs benedict. ||The best thing about this hotel was the location. It was perfect. You are located almost next door to the parliament building as well as the 'Shoes on the Danube'. The tram and metro stop next to the parliament building was handy to get over to the Buda side. From the hotel to the Buda castle was approx. a 15 min walk. St Stephens Basilica was less than 10 mins too, where there are cafes, restaurants and bars in abundance. Margaret island was also within walking distance (15 mins). ||I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone travelling to Budapest. It wasn't overly expensive (in my opinion), and bearing in mind it's location, it was excellent value for money

Our stay at this hotel was truly exceptional. The location is absolutely incredible !!! Just step outside, and you’re already in the heart of the city, surrounded by its most iconic landmarks. The service exceeded all expectations! We were warmly welcomed and even offered early check-in, which was a wonderful surprise. The breakfast was delicious, with a great variety of options, and the coffee was really good . Every detail made us feel genuinely cared for- we would return without hesitation!

We stayed here for three nights. Pros - Good location Nice interior though not sure about the giant portrait of Sisi watching me sleep… Room was clean Bathroom was modern Late night cocktails are good Cons - Room AC is loud and difficult to get the room to a good temperature. Service is horrible for supposedly a 5 star hotel: No one greets you at the entrance No help with bags No concierge No clarity on Spa rules, some people walking around naked, some with bathing suits. No member of staff at the Spa desk. Price of all minibar is basically the cost of a night at the hotel. The room service menu doesn’t have any descriptions of the items so I called and asked what was in the “Club Sandwich”, the person on the other end of the phone did not know and suggested I go down to the bar to find out… I then requested they find out and call back. They did not call back. Staff are just generally untrained and lack the experience to deliver what is required for 5 star. The hotel generally is nice but it lacks finesse and refinement that you normally expect at this price point. I will never come back nor would I stay at any of their group hotels. The manager offered to comp our last breakfast (€25) and hotel transfer (€50) in response to the above which was a nice gesture.

Overall, a good hotel with a great location. However… I inquired at reception about vegan options at the breakfast buffet. The receptionist wasn't sure, so she asked the bar staff. The response was: “Yes, we have cucumber, tomatoes, and lettuce.” 🧐 We also tried to book a massage and asked at reception around 8:30 AM for an appointment at 12 PM. The receptionist said he would check and let us know. We went out, and upon returning, were told that since they work with external massage therapists, they didn’t have time. No alternative time was suggested, and there was no effort to contact us in the meantime so we could plan our day accordingly. Altogether, a good hotel but a bit disappointing for a five-star hotel.

A Disappointing Stay at Áurea Ana Palace Hotel – Beautiful Building, But Far From a Luxury Experience! We had mixed feelings about our stay at Áurea Ana Palace Hotel. While the staff were helpful and courteous, the overall experience was far from smooth, especially for a hotel that presents itself as a five-star property. The biggest issue was the presence of cockroaches in our room, which was extremely disappointing and unexpected. After a long day of sightseeing, we had to request a room change around midnight due to this, and unfortunately, we received no assistance with moving our luggage. That added stress and frustration to what should have been a restful evening. In situations like this, you'd typically expect a hotel of this caliber to offer an upgrade, an apology gesture, or at least some form of compensation for the inconvenience, but none of that happened. On a positive note, the location is great, and the building itself is stunning, with beautiful architecture that reflects the character of Budapest. However, the experience fell short of the luxury standard we were expecting when booking this property. I hope the hotel takes steps to improve their service recovery and room standards, as the potential is there—but our visit did not meet expectations.

We arrived to this hotel, after a bad experience on airbnb, the location is great a couple of blocks from the Danubio and almost in the corner from the Parlament building, in a very calm neighborhood.||The staff at the door is super nice once you enter is like having an experience in a small old Luxurios house or castle…you know what i mean. They are very helpful and they try to speak in spanish. ||The room for three persons is big and the closets arts is like being in a museum, they also leave you a welcome kit in your rooms that feels so warm (water, fruit, cake, etc) it was like really nice to come back for long walks all day and it feels really nice. ||You absolutely need to drink something in the ground floor, try the pools and the spa, and of course although Budapest have great options to eat outside give a chance to the breakfast in the big salon||Definitely i will come back.
