Aurora, New York, Is America’s Best Small Spa and Wellness Town of 2023

"A quirky farmhouse spot just south of Aurora, in King Ferry, New York, it has a huge selection of supremely ambitious brews, including classics like cream ale and West Coast IPA alongside outré picks like a watermelon sea salt gose and a sour ale flavored with molasses and nutmeg. They’ve also recently stepped up their food game and have a long menu of goes-great-with-beer eats like wood-fired pizzas and smoked chicken wing dip." - Travel + Leisure Editors

I’m not sure if I want to keep this a selfish secret or share. We’re visiting hometown with our dogs as we now live across country. We needed a dog friendly place. This is indeed dog friendly, but also boasts an amazing patio with shade and stellar views, and food that is amazing for a brew pub. This is going to be a regular stop anytime we’re visiting. And please bus your own table when you’re here. They work hard and won’t say anything, but I’m sure they’d appreciate the help. ☺️

Good drinks, food is as good as you would expect from the winery with the prices they have. Only thing I would say is oh my God the amount of flies. I get in the summertime that there should be a lot of flies and we should expect that. The amount of flies at this point I felt like was a little unprecedented, would think that they would have some way to capture flies or trap flies.

Perched atop a hill with breathtaking views of Long Point Vineyard and Cayuga Lake, Aurora Brewing offers not just fantastic beers but a food experience well worth the trip. We tried the Caesar salad, pulled pork nachos, and the sausage and peppers pizza — and every bite impressed. The pulled pork nachos were the standout: a mountain of crispy chips smothered in silky white cheese sauce, topped with pickled jalapeños, green onions, tomatoes, and deliciously spiced, tender pulled pork — indulgent, vibrant, and perfect for sharing. Their woodfired sausage and peppers pizza delivered a hearty, satisfying bite, with a lightly charred, chewy crust, perfectly spiced sausage, and sweet roasted peppers. Balancing all that richness, the Caesar salad was a fresh, crisp counterpoint — with just the right amount of dressing and crunchy croutons, it helped lighten and round out the meal beautifully. Aurora runs a self-seated, order-at-the-bar setup, so grab a table first, then head inside to order. There’s indoor seating (which fills up quickly on weekends), but the outdoor seating is where the experience truly shines. With sweeping vineyard and lake views, it’s one of the best spots around to kick back with a pint, great food, and unforgettable scenery.

Drinks and food were fine, but the views are excellent and definitely make it a worthwhile spot. One thing to note is the brewery is right next to a working farm, and the second time we tried to come here the smell of manure was overpowering so we had to skip it, just a forewarning.

Glorious farm-style brewery nestled along Cayuga Lake. Great views and beers. Try the Helles Lager, Fällen, if it's on tap. Grab an Adirondeck Chair and enjoy the scenery.

Service was good, it’s really just self serve. The setup is nice. Pizza was just ok, many rave about it but it wasn’t anything special especially for wood fired. Wife really enjoyed her sandwich. IMO Beers weren’t that good. $14 for a flight and you can’t even pick your beers is lame.

Food is pretty decent, people are nice and responsive. When they mixed up the order, the waiter immediately acknowledged the mistake and apologized. That’s good! …But the food (pretty generic sandwiches, fried food) took around 1.5 hrs to get to our table. That’s preventing me from giving above 2 stars. If you visit at a less busy time, it should be a pretty good option!
