We had a fantastic time at Aurora Village! Cabins are warm and comfortable, great views with the large glass overhead winndows. The bathroom was compact but just right, the hot shower worked well for us. Very friendly staff at the reception, restaurant and for the various activities. I love the size and layout of the place, not too big, only about 2 minutes walk from the cabins to the reception and restaurant. And with the cabins amongst the trees, with the reindeer in the central enclosure, you really feel like you're immersed in nature. Lots of forest tracks to explore.
The evening meals were outstanding, exactly the kind of food I love - great quality ingredients, cooked with skill to make really tasty, well seasoned and well-balanced meals. Elegant food without being fussy, and great variety from day to day. The jerusalem artichoke soup, arctic char and lemon risotto were some of the highlights. Portion sizes also very well judged, so you are nicely satisfied with starter/main/dessert, but not over-filled. They cater well for dietary requirements too. Breakfast was also great, with a huge choice from cereals, fruits, yoghurt, bread, pastries, cheese, ham, scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon and other cooked items.
We enjoyed some great activities: reindeer feeding, reindeer sled, Aurora chasing, husky sledding. It was an awesome experience to travel through the amazing snowy landscapes, pulled by reindeer and by a team of dogs!
We got some great views of the Aurora too. I would recommend you plan a visit to make the most of the scenery and the amazing activities, and - if you are lucky - you will get some good views of the northern lights as a bonus!
This was a visit of a lifetime... though I would love to come back a second time :-)
