"Originally founded in 1872, the shop itself has always specialized in pest control, or more specifically as rat killers. They are still in business today. Called the Julien Aurouze & Co and located on Rue des Halles close to Hotel de Ville, it has a very traditional and old-fashioned style frontage. What is unusual about the shop is the way they advertise their pest control skills; with storefront displays stuffed rats hanging from traps, taxidermied rats, and generally a bunch of stuffed dead rats. But despite being one of the more unusual shop windows in Paris, it still supplies numerous gadgets and other products for getting rid of unwanted pests, and if their window display doesn’t convince you they can get rid of your rats, nothing will. The store makes a brief appearance in the movie ‘Ratatouille.’ Remy is shown the storefront window by his wise old father as a warning to stay away from humans. Looking up at the dead rats he says, “This is what happens when a rat gets a little too comfortable around humans.”" - ATLAS_OBSCURA

We came here not to buy any product but to visit a place that seems to be the inspiration of one scene of the famous movie, Ratatouille 🐀 If you are looking for different places or just passing by, give a few minutes to this place which was a lot of history in Paris.

Was so totally not expecting this. Walking down the street past a busy boulangeria you see a shop window full of hanging rats - it's a pest store !

I have no idea what the products/services are like but I came to see rats with festive hats and I think I missed them. I am so sad. Can we please get more hats on the rats? Thank you.

Helped me catch a mouse SOOO quickly with sticky paper. Very effective! To strengthen effect I put a piece of cheese (compte if you are interested) in the middle of a paper. 30 minutes later mouse was in. But I am coming back to the shop as I need to close holes in a kitchen close to water tubes.
