Ausonia Hungaria (Venice, Veneto) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The bulk of the Venetian tourist trade centers on Venice proper, but the Lido, the barrier island that shields Venice from the Adriatic Sea, is a destination unto itself; it’s home to the film festival, for one, as well as some elegant grand hotels, including the renovated Ausonia Hungaria. The famous Liberty-style façade, dating back to 1907, is still in place, but what’s inside is now an entirely contemporary luxury hotel, complete with modernist-inspired furnishings and décor and all the essential 21st-century comforts." - Tablet Hotels

The breakfast in this hotel is incredible! It was one of the highlights of our morning. ||The rooms are of a good size and really well equipped. The staff are so helpful - nothing is too much bother and then are always helpful, smiley and say hello / goodbye. ||For a 5* hotel though there were a few things that surprised me about this place.. ||1) the pool drinks service - this was non existent. You had to go into the hotel, to reception and ask if you can order drinks. There seemed to be a bar outside but it wasn’t being used. The staff were also very slow at clearing up the drinks by the pool too. They’d be there for hours. ||2) the cleaners.. we totally appreciate they are trying to enhance your stay by ensuring you have clean towels twice a day etc but.. coming in 3 times each day was a little excessive and felt intrusive. They would knock and just come in rather than wait a few seconds to see if someone was in the room. ||I would say this would be a top end 4* hotel rather than 5*.

Hotel service was top notch, rooms were large, modern, and the best I’ve had in Europe. Just down the street from the pier to catch taxis or water transportation travel between the hotel airport, and Venice was very easy. Location around the hotel was walkable and had beaches, great restaurants and was very nice. Was very pleased with this choice for my trip to Venice.

This is one of the loveliest places I've ever been to. The history and the architecture, the sensitivity amd thoughtfulness of the staff were beyond compare. My room was fresh and peaceful. The walk to the beach was beautiful. Enrico at the terrace bar came up with a wonderful mocktail for me. So good I had two! Everyone was charming and genuinely interested in being helpful. I shall come back next year.

In the heart of Lido di Venezia, Ausonia Hungaria is a refined retreat where discreet luxury blends seamlessly with the authentic tranquility of the place. The rooms, a fusion of historic elegance and contemporary design, offer the perfect space for rest and reflection. The spa experience, with its revitalizing treatments, provides a moment of deep reconnection, while the hotel's intimate garden becomes a peaceful haven for self-reflection. The proximity to Venice, with its quiet streets, charming squares, and picturesque bridges, adds a unique charm, allowing us to explore the city's beauty at our own pace, away from the everyday hustle. The hotel's welcoming and attentive staff ensures that each moment is an authentic experience. At Ausonia Hungaria, every detail speaks of effortless elegance and a genuine connection to the place.❤️ 100% recommended!

Everything about this hotel is 5 star from the amazing building, the wonderful reception service, the excellent spacious rooms. But the breakfasts are probably the best I have ever had. |One thing that stands out is they don't feel the need to charge like a wounded rhino for everything.

From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the elegant decor and warm hospitality The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and offered stunning views of the Venetian canals. Each morning, I enjoyed a delicious breakfast with a variety of fresh options. Miss Padideh was incredibly attentive and made me feel truly valued as a guest. The location was perfect, allowing me to explore Venice with ease. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Venice – it truly is a gem!"

Yelp
This is the best hotel experience I have ever had in my many trips to Italy (my first to Venice). I was nearing the end of a long work trip and needed to have a few items laundered and they took care of that for me so quickly. When I returned from dinner after check in my clothes were neatly folded in my room and they had even hung up and organized all my clothes and items I had strewn around the room getting ready in a rush. The rooms are beautiful and spacious with great amenities like comfy robes and slippers, a very comfortable bed, and an airplay/chromecast feature that actually works. The rooftop has beautiful views, the terrace bar was perfectly picturesque, and the breakfast spread in the morning was absolutely delicious. The staff was so courteous and welcoming, honestly a 10/10 and would encourage anyone visiting Venice to stay here (as long as you're happy staying on Lido and not being in the central city area of Venice).

Yelp
This is an awesome hotel, the rooms are clean and spacious. It is located on the Lido di Venice so you will take a ferry to the "real Venice." The hotel is covered in hand painted tiles which is unique. The breakfast is so yummy and the hotel is graciously appointed. This hotel has a good little bar with a great bartender. If you stay here you will not be disappointed! Website is www.hotelhungaria.com

Yelp
I stayed two nights at the Grande Albergo Ausonia & Hungaria Hotel (June 7 & 8, 2013). The hotel is beautifully decorated and has a great location on Lido Island. The staff is great as well.

Yelp
Charming hotel and probably the biggest and most beautiful on Lido island. We personally prefer Lido to others, especially the oh so crowded San Marco Square Venice which is only 15 minutes away by water bus. And the price is reasonable here for every thing. Room is small for U.S standard but come on you're not here to stay in your room so it doesn't matter. It still is a very quaint and unique. Grand as the name is. Staff is very friendly, professional and so helpful. The front desk lady name Bianca was so sweet and friendly when we checked in, made us feel welcome and did I mention she is lovely and pretty as well? Prime location and gorgeous exterior. Walking distance to every thing and so close to the water transportation station. Hotel rate is reasonable with breakfast included as well. Very happy with our stay. Definitely will stay here again when we come back next time. I highly recommend this hotel.

Yelp
We stayed at this hotel through a holiday package with Travelzoo. When we found our hotel (which is really easy as it's on a main road on the Island of Lido) we could not believe our eyes. It's soooo pretty!! We felt like royalty walking up the red carpeted stairs. The interior is art deco themed and the staff are lovely and friendly. I really enjoyed our breakfast the 2 mornings we stayed, but could've done with a bit more selection of cooked breakfast items. Our room was very warm at night but there are wooden shutters on the windows so I'd suggest shutting those and opening the double glazed glass windows on the inside. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops down the road from the hotel, so if you're a little hesitant to travel by water bus in the dark, you won't be stranded for food. The Island is only a 10-15 minute water bus ride from Venice. I would definitely stay here again when I revisit Venice.

Yelp
We stayed at the Grande Albergo for Valentines and we could not fault the hotel, we loved the quirky hotel, staff were pleasant and helpful, would highly recommend this hotel and just loved Venice. The spa was fab to, I will always have lovely memories and my partner proposed, so now busy planning our wedding in June this year.
