It’s a great location in downtown. They cook the rotisserie right there and lop off your dinner cowboy style! Fresh and delicious. Coconut shrimp always a winner. Service good and atmosphere is really pleasant.

Google
Excellent dinner, amazing service, and we were able to make a reservation as well. We had the chicken pot pie, rotisserie beef, and mac and cheese kids meal. We also had the stuffed avacodo as an appetizer and the creme brulee for dessert. We were celebrating and this was our first visit so we wanted to try multiple things. As you can imagine, we had leftovers. Those were good as well. Enjoy and follow me!

Google
Absolutely delicious food & drinks - they truly understand flavor and take it to the next level. Excellent lunch on the patio with Sherwood today - highest recommendation ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Google
Great tasting food and atmosphere in foco. We had some mixups where items were missing on our orders but we weren’t charged for any of it, completely understand having those small errors from time to time. I appreciate the politeness and readiness of staff to fix any issues as quickly as possible.

Google
Great casual American restaurant in downtown Fort Collins. We loved the comfortable atmosphere w lots of warm wood touches. Our waitress was beyond excellent 👌 Attentive, friendly and professional. We ordered- Hill Country Salad w citrus lime dressing - EXCELLENT flavor. Loved the pan cornbread and cornbread croutons. Club Sandwich-Turkey/Bacon was substantial and flavorful. Have eaten here on several occasions and always enjoy. Thanks

The food was just okay, but the service really stood out—our server was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The outside patio is a lovely spot, perfect for sitting out and people-watching. Overall, it was a pleasant experience!

Google
5 stars – Great Gluten-Free Options, Flavorful Food, and Excellent Service! We had a fantastic experience at Austin’s American Grill! They’re incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to gluten-free dining, with plenty of safe options and careful protocols in place to avoid cross-contamination—which gave us total peace of mind. The food was cooked to perfection and full of rich, satisfying flavor. Their mixed drinks were also excellent, and the staff’s wine pairing suggestions were spot-on. Everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and well-informed. Pro tip: Skip the stress of hunting for a street spot and head straight to the Laporte parking garage. It’s just a short walk away and much easier, especially since street parking is time-limited before 6 PM. If you’re looking for a delicious, safe gluten-free dining experience with great drinks and even better service, Austin’s delivers on every level!

Google
Popped in for a bite to eat whilst working in the area and the place was spot on. The food, the service and the atmosphere were perfect, could not fault the place. Ordered the coconut shrimp to start which were fat and succulent, had the New York Strip Steak for main which was perfectly cooked to my liking and they were happy to swap out the baked potato for the roasted garlic mashers. Would definitely eat here again.

Yelp
Owners did reach out after my previous review and discussed my concerns. Happy to say we came back here last night for dinner and it was a much better experience! Our server was amazing, very knowledgeable on the menu and made excellent recommendations! We started with the crab stuffed avocado and it was good. The sauce and the crispy outside of the avocado with the crab was a good mixture. The French Onion soup might just be the star of the show! It was soo good and I'd come back just for the soup alone! Delicious! We ordered two steaks entrees and both substituted mashed potatoes instead of the baked potato. Wish I would have stuck with the baked potato because the mashed potatoes lacked in flavor. The New York Strip - This steak was perfection! Perfectly cooked to order, crispy edges and tender. So good! The Delmonico Ribeye - this was suggested by the server as a melt in your mouth tender cut of meat. It was a good portion size, cooked perfectly to my preference but I was a bit disappointed in the lack of flavor. The butter on top and onion straws were a nice add and definitely needed to enhance the steak flavor. It was good, but I would not order it again. I'd choose the NY strip over this one next time. We ended with crème brulee and the top was a nicely thick crust, and a vanilla bean custard, which was good. Overall, a much more pleasant experience.

Yelp
Came in for lunch after church on Sunday with family. My uncle made reservations and I am so glad he did as they got quite busy! We were seated right away. The restaurant has a lot of tables both inside and out. We sat in a large booth in the corner of the restaurant, and it was very comfortable. Our server was prompt, friendly, and attentive. Food and drinks came out timely and everything tasted great! I opted for the French Dip and french fries. The French Dip was good, but the french fries were the real winner - cooked to perfection. I also opted for the Butterfly Effect mocktail and it was very tasty. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals as well. At the end of our meal, our waiter quietly asked me if I was alright with my daughter getting the ice cream sundae that came free with her meal. I was very pleased that he took the time to ask me before saying anything to my daughter in case I said no. The sundae was much larger than I expected, but so great. It was covered in fudge, whipped cream, and sprinkles!

Yelp
The food was mediocre and the price points were really high. We opted to try some fries, chips and queso. The pico de gallo needs heat, they lean on onions for flavor. The chips tasted stale and the fries were Luke warm at best. There are several places nearby that are far less expensive and carry a higher quality for food. Overall, we are glad we gave it a shot bug won't be back soon.

Yelp
My husband and I returned the other night to give downtown Austin's another try following our disappointing visit in Feb. we sat in the patio which I love on a summer night. Host and server were both friendly. Improvements - we actually had time to sip, converse and enjoy our drinks (Bees Knees and a beer) before our food was brought out. We didn't feel rushed in that way which I appreciate. When I come to Austin's, I'm expecting to linger and relax for a bit, I'm not looking to be in & out. This time I ordered the bison meatloaf which I haven't had in ages it was terrific and hearty. There was a mix-up with my side, but our server quickly brought out the correct side of mashed potatoes and all was good. The mashed potatoes were thick, rich, and fantastic. I had some extra for the next day. Relieved to experience a more typically positive dining outing on this visit. Thanks!

Yelp
Austin's is a place where you can always depend on the food being good. Today's experience was a cut above. The service provided by Becca was excellent way above what you would normally expect. We went to try out the Great Plates of Fort Collins where restaurants built special menu items and donate some to charity. I can only say WOW Becca and Logan our bartender hit it out of the park! Austin's is not one of my usual places but it may be now! Thanks Becca & Logan!

Yelp
nice place. can go in there casual or fancied up. I had the chicken salad sandwich with beer cheese soup. I was super (souper) excited about the beer cheese soup. The sandwich was on nicely toasted bread. the soup wasn't thick and cheesy though, it was rather runny. staff was great. there's a big oven with roasting chickens.

Yelp
Service was horrible, I didn't care for my drink & the bartender seemed oblivious. The only person that appeared to be working hard was the waitress. Tables were dirty as well as several bar seats. I first went to Austin's in 2000 and support local, but I'll wait awhile to go back.

Yelp
This staple in Ft Collins still has a fun, lively atmosphere and comfortable outside dining with lots of opportunities for people watching. We do not live here but have been coming to this restaurant for years. Like others, this recent visit was very disappointing. Our server, Caroline, was wonderful but she wasn't responsible for the 3 stars. The food was mediocre at best. Fries were barely warm, carrots were charred and hard as rocks. Ribs were decent and salmon was also okay. Not certain why, but please fix whatever is going on in The kitchen!!!
google avatar

Leanna K.

Yelp
Service - decent. Our server was nice, but not great. It was definitely minimum service. He took our order, brought out our food, and gave us our check. That's fine, but nothing to rave about or remember. Ambiance - bar casual. Food - underwhelming, but worth eating. We both got the prime rib and mashed potatoes. Both were lukewarm. We were really excited to come here and try it but unfortunately I have to agree with many other reviews that it was flavorless. Honestly, it was extremely bland. Thank goodness for the au jus to give some sort of flavor, but even that was mediocre. The meat was tender, but you don't get prime rib just for the tenderness. The mashed potatoes felt like they had nothing on them. I certainly wouldn't call them "garlic" by any means and everything lacked salt. I'm not a person who likes overly salty things, just food that has actual flavor. Also, the knives they give you to cut the prime rib with are a joke. My hand was cramping trying to cut the tender meat with a diner style "knife". My recommendation: season the food and get some real steak knives and it will up the experience tenfold! Overall, not a bad place if you want fast dinner, but I would go elsewhere for better quality.

Yelp
Service and drinks were good. Food was mediocre. Nice vibe on the patio didn't go inside.

Yelp
I don't understand all the great ratings. Went with my family, all adults. Service was barely there. I understand if a server is slammed but ours was barely around and when I had to go up to the bar to ask for an item, already requested, she was chatting with the guys at the bar. Absolutely clueless on what service is about. She also suggested the chicken pot pie as it was fantastic. Let's call it potato and carrot pie, hardly ANY chicken. My cheeseburger tasted like a burnt BBQ disaster. $100 for the meals, all a waste. Find another restaurant, lots of options.

Yelp
Good food and great service. I have eaten here a few times and I am always happy with my meal. Love the outdoor seating too.

Yelp
Good Buffalo Bison Burger/ wife had chicken pot pie. Very good & wait staff was nice!!!!

Tad A.

Yelp
Was just in and our party left full and happy! We had the combo with rotisserie chicken, ribs, along with the lamb hoagie dipper special and the Cobb. Everything was out fast. But let's talk about cornbread. The cornbread was on point and fantastic! The Queso was delicious. They have cocktails that are unique and tasty. But stop the presses! The bread pudding today was the best we ever had, drizzled with caramel sauce. This bread pudding puts the pioneer woman to shame, it is that good. Everyone was locked in from kitchen, to wait staff to management! Head to Austin's Old Town Fort Collins!

Yelp
My wife had the bison meatloaf, and she added the cream sauce that goes on the rotisserie sirloin steak, which is what I had. That cream sauce is the standup and if you get the meatloaf, I would definitely recommend asking for the sauce for the rotisserie sirloin steak we had, great service. Excellent food will definitely be coming back.
google avatar

Andrew S.

Yelp
Their motto is "simply extraordinary". My experience would say "simply average". The ambiance is good, especially the outdoor seating, but it's Colorado so nothing extraordinary. The food was good, but again, nothing special. The service met expectations. You can probably do better.

Yelp
A good spot in a central area. For a first time visitor, great for an outdoor patio meal to appreciate the weather, town, and overall vibe. Location/parking: Very centrally located and easy to walk to. There was a wait list when we arrived which allowed us to walk around the area. It's very close to a ton of cute local shops and a central square. There's a lot of street parking in the area but on a Saturday night it was all full! We had to park quite a way away but the walk wasn't to bad especially with the nice weather. Service: The staff was really nice and helpful. I asked for some recommendations and our server was able to give a wide variety of options. Food: The food was just ok in my opinion. The best was definitely the cornbread which was a bit sweet. Otherwise everything was ok... I didn't like the beer cheese soup which was extremely beer flavored (to the point of overpowering the cheese flavor for me personally.). The special off menu item was jambalaya which I was so excited for, however it was very heavy in the tomato and white rice was added upon serving (not cooked into it). For me personally, the food was on the cold side. I don't know if that's because we were sitting outside and it was cooler out, but it was a bit disappointing. Price: All things considered our meal cost way less than I anticipated ! The specialty drinks were also very low compared to other place around the country I've been to lately which was super awesome.

Yelp
This is one of those places that would fool you - great atmosphere, fancy uniforms, specialty drinks & live rotisserie chicken in the middle of the dining room. We were extremely excited to try the place out, but was met with lackluster flavors. We had a waiting time of 15 minutes which was surprisingly LONGER than the time it took for our food to come out. We placed our order of the Prime Rib & Steak special and both were brought out in less than 5 mins. The food was served warm and lacked ALOT of flavor.

Dalila N.

Yelp
Our server was nice, came straight up to offer us something to drink. The food was alright the meat of the hamburger was ok it seemed more burnt and was not cooked how I had asked. My husband ask for a New York strip steak, which he want it to the meat to be cooked medium rare, and the steak was a little crunchy. Service wasn't bad, they did take a while to bring out food and it wasn't busy at all. Our experience wasn't bad.

Yelp
Our group of six all raved about the variety of lunch/brunch meals chosen, Rotisserie Chicken being #1 hit, Cobb Salad as second best; along with fresh microbrews, mimosas and seltzers. We were seated quickly and enjoyed friendly & helpful service (including gluten free options) for the full hour+ we enjoyed the warm cozy atmosphere with lots of light streaming in the numerous windows. I'll be back in downtown Fort Collins again soon and a visit to Austin's will included!

Yelp
Our food was pretty good, steak cooked to perfection and. I've had hit or miss service here but our server Mal was very attentive and friendly. Straight to the point restaurant.

Yelp
Amazing and delicious food, great service and lovely atmosphere. First time here today & I wish I had taken pictures of the food. We just had cheeseburgers and beer, but they were amazing! I also found out about their Brandy cream sauce..... there are no words ....so unbelievably delicious!! Took some dessert to go - croissant bread, pudding with salted caramel sauce....to die for. Our server was so friendly and helpful. I love Austin's!

Yelp
We stumbled upon Austin's this past weekend during a basketball tournament in Fort Collins. I had the bison meatloaf and let me tell you, the best flavor and texture along with creamy mash potatoes and onion straws on top. Perfect! My wife had the rotisserie chicken and cooked to perfection! Great atmosphere to boot. Wish they had one down in the Springs!Bison MeatloafRotisserie Chicken

Yelp
Had a great b-day dinner at Austin's. We were a bit early for our reservation so we decided to have a cocktail at the bar but were pleasantly surprised when they had an open table and seated us early. The atmosphere is vey comfy and cozy with plenty of tables as well as booths. They offer outdoor seating when the weather is nice. There is a nice bar to sit at that offers just about any drink you'd want and a good wine list. We started off with the artichoke dip ( yum!!) and the fried, crab stuffed avocado. Yes, it's as delicious as it sounds! We then ordered the special ... pepper crusted steak slices and mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked perfectly and so tender. We also had the b-bque salmon with Brussel sprouts and the combo plate of 1/2 chicken and 1/2 ribs. The salmon is cooked just right at a med temp which leaves it moist and tender. The chicken.... which is their specialty and cooked on a rotisserie spit was very good as well. They were generous and kind and brought out a yummy hot fudge sundae as a b-day gift. Service was wonderful and we felt right at home as we enjoyed our meal. .

Yelp
We love Austins! The service is great! The food is usually really good. However they only get 4 stars cause they have changed the coleslaw recipe. It is more vinegar based with pineapple instead of apples. It used to be mayonnaise based, creamy with the right amount of tang. Bring back the original recipe if you want 5 stars! Also when you say half a chicken, bring half a chicken not just 2 pieces. Sometimes change is not good.

Lyla A.

Yelp
This place has the best tasting food ever. It feels so nice to go on an early evening dinner with the love of my life on the padio. The server was so sweet and honestly deserves a raise. If you are ever downtown please check out this place it wont disappoint!
google avatar

Caleb M.

Yelp
The food is great. I always love seeing the chicken be roasted right in front of me. It's usually quieter than most places. The servers are always nice too so overall it's a great place to go.

Yelp
I was here maybe a month ago with my husband. We live in Cheyenne so whenever we want good food and great service we travel 30 minutes south to Fort Collins. So glad we decided to eat at Austin's. Our server was amazing although I cannot recall her name. We sat outside on what was a beautifully sunny Colorado day. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and a side Baby bleu salad. I loved my meal and the croutons on the salad were definitely made from scratch. The chicken on the chicken salad sandwich was big and chunky...such a pleasant surprise. It was chicken pulled from a roasted bird not from a can so to anyone who complains about the chicken pieces being too big is out of their mind. The baby bleu was so delicious...next time I'm opting to just have a full sized baby bleu and order the chicken salad sandwich to-go so I can savor that for later! What did my husband order? Do t even recall because I was too busy eating and enjoying my well made meal. We will be back!

Yelp
Everything was good. I wouldn't think about visiting here again, but my husband liked it so we just might get another visit in. We got the buffalo wings and cornbread skillet to start and here are my thoughts: Wings - the wing flavor was great, but I wish the wings were crispier. Cornbread served with honey butter - sweet and tasty cornbread. Probably my favorite part of the meal! I would order this as a dessert in the future, but it was fun to have a dessert-y appetizer. Main dishes: Colarado cheeseburger - This was a good cheeseburger. The fries were crispy. When I asked my husband what he would rate it, he said 9/10. Cobb salad - this was a good Cobb salad, although "rotisserie chicken" on the salad was kind of dry. This was sad because the rotisserie chicken is a plate in itself, and you can see the chickens turning on the spit in the restaurant. It came with more cornbread which was great.

Yelp
Amazing food in a great setting either outdoor or indoor. Very friendly service and fair prices.

Frank O.

Yelp
I ordered a steak, a ribeye the evening of 9/ 10/ 24. it was seasoned and cooked the way I had asked, but the steak was very tough. I was very disappointed as ribeyes are never tough. Not sure where it came from but I would never order a steak there again. Obviously disappointed. Service was also very slow.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been in Colorado for a week and this is the best meal I've had. The service, atmosphere and staff were very good fast and efficient. I ordered the sirloin and it was fabulous.

Yelp
This is our favorite restaurant in Fort Collins. We love happy hour - especially the Fat Tire Beer Cheese Soup and Hill Country salad. The bison meatloaf, roast chicken and bbq ribs are also great. We always bring out of town guests here. And a great gin dirty martini.

Yelp
Average American joint. Nice outdoor patio and very quick and professional service. Everything on the menu sounded delicious, and the turn out was fine, but I'd say things sounded better than they tasted ‍ my boyfriend got the bison burger and I got the chicken salad sandwich. The chicken salad sandwich was good, but the pieces of chicken were a bit too big, I also did not like the included tomato on it. I got a side Caesar salad and again did not like the added tomatoes or the capers, didn't really seem like a Caesar with those. My boyfriend said the burger was good, but burgers are his favorite food and we didn't eat them for two months due to being vegetarian and his reaction was not heavenly after eating it which makes me feel like it wasn't as good as he'd been hoping. The fries were delicious and probably the best thing we got!

Casey S.

Yelp
We had some pretty terrible service tonight. It was our first and last time in, our server Logan came to our table twice our whole dinner service. Once to order and once for the bill. The French onion soup was awful, we hardly ate any of it but went unnoticed by our server. Honestly this was the worst dining experience we've had in quite some time. There was no shortage of servers around either, not like they were short staffed. Plenty of better options in old town.
google avatar

Yelp
I went to Fort Collins for the first time since I moved to Colorado, and Austin's is the first restaurant I've ever tried from the area. Not a bad place for a hangry family to stop by, and the service was INCREDIBLE. Due to the pandemic, restaurants have strict procedures that limit the amount of people that dine in. Since we had a big party AND a dog with us, that made us even more difficult to serve. The hostess and waiters tried their hardest to accommodate us so that we were able to sit together outside! Our waitress (I didn't get her name, unfortunately) was extremely kind. For appetizers, we got the cornbread which was really yummy and a good start to our meal. I ordered the lunch special which was a philly cheesesteak. It was a little dry, but the side of garlic mashers were pretty good! A good way to fix the dryness. I wish I tried their rotisserie chicken though, they seem to be the most popular. My boyfriend really enjoyed his meatloaf. Overall not a bad place to stop by.

Yelp
Had dinner here with the family, including 2 younger grandkids. Great selections and everyone was happy with theirs. Friendly staff, good food, great atmosphere.

Yelp
What a delightful afternoon New Year's Day. Not crowded, service was excellent and so warm and inviting inside! We have not tried the old town store, so decided to give it a try. Glad we did. I had the 1/2 chicken - pretty good , maybe a tad dry, but it's a holiday and I enjoyed it. vegetables were amazing My wife had the red snapper spec- she liked it...maybe a little of the same...dry, but she loved it. Definitely enjoyed our time sitting at the bar. Can't wait to go back

Yelp
The down and dirty... The location is awesome. The server Ben, was amazing. And this review could have easily been a 5. At least a 4. But when you bring 1 dinner out literally minutes after ordering and seconds after the appetizer (spinach artichoke dip that's not hot) , there is an issue. Next, when you bring the other dinner out 10 minutes later, raw, there's an issue. And when you take that salmon back and bring another not cooked, that's an issue. When one person has finished their entire meal and the other hasn't started yet, there's an issue. Yes, they comped desert and took off the uneaten meal. But still there's an issue and my review reflects that. I really want to give this place higher because it could have been and maybe it's covid staffing but still, there's an issue. I'd probably give it another try tbh but this food experience was a fail.

Tammy P.

Yelp
Excellent food and service in a very well managed restaurant. So glad our server recommended the lunch special of a prime rib sandwich. It was delicious. We also enjoyed sides other than typical fries or chips; air fried brussel sprouts. The cup of french onion soup was also very tasty and not overly salted.

Mindy A.

Yelp
Great food, nice atmosphere and reasonably priced. Service has always been good. Love the French onion soup!

Annie G.

Yelp
Nice people, good service, Horrible food! My chicken sandwich was pretty good, but seriously what restaurant nowadays doesn't offer any other type of fries than basically McDonald's French fries without the salt! No sweet potato fries or even onion rings or waffle fries? And then my husband's prime rib was awful!! Almost all fat and tiny amount of meat. And his side of vegetables was horrible too. Lima beans, corn and diced onions?!?!?! Who the hell serves Lima beans for a side dish? Or even at all? My 4 1/2 yr old had Mac & cheese, and it was honestly just kraft macaroni from a box!!! I was extremely disappointed with the lack of choices on their menu. There were not many dishes to choose from. The waitress was nice, so I dont want to fault her at all. She did check on us multiple times and cleared dishes that we were finished with instead of leaving them on a crowded table, and I thought that was nice. I had to go home and feed my 4 yr old dinner again. What's the point in going to a restaurant?!?!? This may be a restaurant that's only good at certain dishes, maybe only sandwiches and burgers....

Lila T.

Yelp
There is nothing dramatically wrong with this place per se, it's simply un-inspired. Basic bland meat and potatoes, a so-so ambiance (super bright, old school) and mediocre service. The prices would lead you to believe this is a white-table cloth kind of place but it isn't in any way. Average New York steak cut for $39 and 1/4 cup of overcooked vegetables for an additional $7 - almost $50 bucks. Waiter brought our check before we were finished and never asked if we wanted dessert. I don't understand how this place stays in business - there are many other amazing restaurants in downtown Fort Collins with chefs who are passionate about what they do, supported by servers who make it their job to have your experience match the quality of the food - for the same price or less. I sincerely hope anyone who reads this is encouraged to look elsewhere in downtown Fort Collins for a great meal.

Shannon T.

Yelp
The server was so sweet and attentive. Ambience was fine. The burgers were awful. I ordered mine medium and it came very well done, charred on the outside. I just could not justify partying through it for a $16 burger. So the sweet waitress took it back and said they've been having trouble with the burgers all day. They made a second and it was ALSO very well done. I didn't complain about the second one...I gave up. Maybe they had a new chef?! Anyway, my daughter's queso was good, so two stars is for that and the server.

Sally C.

Yelp
Consistently great food, service and ambiance. Outdoor spaces are nice option, too. Don't forget their to go dinners.

Donald R.

Yelp
In town for 1 night and went to Austin's for dinner. Great choice. Cornbread, rotisserie chicken and buffalo steak were excellent. So was the service. Will come back when in town again.

Cathy S.

Yelp
We just picked where ever for supper as there seems to be a lot of interesting choices. The server was nice enough. The drink special was good, Huckleberry lemonade. I had the Prime rib with garlic mashed potatoes, and my husband had the rotisserie chicken with garlic mashed. Flavorless! I was disappointed that there was no seasoning or taste to my prime rib or garlic mashed. Though I don't like overpowering seasoning on anything, some would of been nice. Not on my list of to return to places.

Yelp
Had the Pork Tenderloin Sandwich & a harvest salad, both were incredible. Pork Tenderloin is breaded in house, succulent. Great Bartender!

Yelp
never go to that restaurant if a tall man, blond hair, who has glasses, looks like a nerd goes. IT WAS QUITE RUDE, trying to rush us to order our food, totally bad customer service
