This was an interesting place to visit on our travels across Queensland. The use of an audio guide adds an interesting way of exploring the exhibits - and, in fact, provides one with more information than is likely to be read on a walk through a gallery (there is otherwise not that much to look at/read without the guide in reality - especially for the price you pay to visit - so it's definitely a value add).
On that, it is very expensive to visit with a large family (we have 5 kids), and there is only an option on-line to have a "family" ticket of 4 to provide a slight discount on two children before you return to full priced children's tickets for any more than that. It costs more again if you want to do any "extras" - like the live show.
A note for the offer for the kids audio tour - it has very limited information as it's directed to a scavenger hunt. Our older kids bailed on it and opted for the full audio tour to get more of the stories. Our youngest children (6 & 7) managed the scavenger hunt with some simple, but regular, guidance from one of the adults.
