This is a great place to satisfy some deep fried spicy cravings. It’s quieter than the usual. Great quantity and sense of space.

Google
Absolutely horrible. We just sat to eat our dinner and are completely shocked and disappointed! Not sure who’s writing these high reviews, but you’ve been warned. The quality of the food is horrible. Ginger Chicken Pineapple super oily/greasy. The fried rice was mush and clumps! Even the bag of free crispy noodles were stale. My husband is so upset he’s ordering a pizza. Worse Chinese food we’ve ever had. Happy New Year ughhhh!

Google
This is my choice for best Chinese food establishment in Brooklyn. The food is consistently fresh, delicious, and well presented. I find the menu and flavors at this place are of a more sophisticated palate when it comes to Chinese food. Their dishes are more on the "authentic" side, and their seasoning and preparation of dishes makes them stand out amidst many options for this cuisine in the area. The interior deco and ambiance if this place is also more elegant, which awards them the best rating. Don't be afraid to request items or dishes not on the menu (we requested baby bok choy), when they are able to accommodate, they do it well. Came today for New Year's celebration and was not disappointed!

Google
Five stars because it’s hard to find truly authentic regional Chinese cuisine in this part of brooklyn. Order: soup dumplings, double cooked pork and salt and pepper shrimp. No, soup dumplings aren’t Szechuan, but these were reasonably well executed. The order was delivered quickly via car (the restaurant does its own seamless deliveries and that seems to be a really good thing) and these didn’t suffer from the delay that many soup dumplings will. To be fair, the dough wasn’t the impossibly thin variety of an iconic xiao long bao, but the slightly thicker dumpling may be the reason why it traveled reasonably well. Double cooked pork was classically prepared (thankfully no fake corn and dried shitake mushrooms in this version) with sliced pork belly, leeks and the appropriate Szechuan seasonings and sauce. The pork had a nice smoky flavor - nicely done. I wasn’t as much a fan of the salt and pepper shrimp - it seemed like they got confused and made it more like a doughy tempura than the classic preparation. But still a fair amount of large shrimp (10 in my box) and we’ll-prepared if not truly authentic. The menu does give away the fact that they are trying to satisfy two audiences, authentic Szechuan aficionados as well as Chinese American tastes. In this part of brooklyn, you can do a lot worse.

Google
The Sesame Chicken via delivery was bad. Soggy, chicken chewy, sauce meh… we threw away half the portion, it was a disappointment. Now, the Szechuan style Chong Qing chicken I have ordered and liked.

Google
My husband and I have been ordering from here (and occasionally dining in) probably once a week since we moved to the neighborhood. Extremely consistent quality, great bang for your buck, and a huge menu with all the hits (not just Szechuan dishes). The food comes out crazy fast and it hits every time. Our favorites are the Chongqing spicy chicken, the twice-cooked pork lunch special, the pickled veg + fish soup, and salt & pepper chicken wings but really everything we’ve tried has been great. I love you Authentic Szechuan 🫶🫶🫶

Google
Ordered the spicy noodle with minced pork and all you can taste was vinegar. Soup dumplings were soggy. Honestly would not recommend

Google
Came here for lunch and absolutely enjoyed everything I ate. My favorites were the soup dumplings, scallion pancakes, and all of the chicken dishes I ordered. We ordered family style and everything I tried was fantastic. The ambiance was amazing and the service was impeccable. Everyone working there was really nice and friendly. Would 100% go back again and recommend it to anyone I know. Definitely try this place out.

Yelp
While the service is fast, I didn't find the food to be all that good. Thankfully, prices are very reasonable. The space is too dimly lit for my liking as well. I got the beef noodle soup, and the noodles were definitely overcooked and the meat was too tough to eat / finish.

Yelp
Authentic Szechuan in Park Slope was pretty good the other night. After reading several reviews, I went and checked out the menu. There are almost too many choices, so I focused on the menu items with photos and the "House Specialities" and "Chef's Special" menu items. I've read that the Chong Qing Spicy Chicken is one of the best items and it's listed as one of the restaurant's "Best Sellers" for delivery orders. The Chong Qing Spicy Chicken description says it's deep fried and sautéed. The menu also offers bamboo steamed items and a vegetarian section. Lots of choices. I finally chose number 53 "The Dragon and Phoenix." The shrimp were large and the white chicken meat was tender. It comes in a chefs special sauce, an orange brown sauce that goes very well with the dish. Very happy with the meal. ** Mustard and extras were not included, no fortune cookie *** The food was pretty delicious & one of the best in the slope area, unless you want to go to Sunset Park where there's a lot of really great Chinese food.

Yelp
This was a random walk-in for me. I'm glad I stopped in. I ordered the hot and sour soup. It was really tasty. We ordered shrimp shumai as an appetizer that was good. For my entree, I had the shrimp and scallops with veggies, and the seafood was cooked perfectly. My brother ordered the general tso chicken. I tried some, and it was so good. Not overly breaded at all. Great portions for the price here. The service was friendly and felt like home. I'd visit again.

Yelp
One day I was desperate for good authentic Szechuan food without having to travel to Chinatown. I thought I try this spot. It looked legit and the menu seem authentic enough. When I order my food for take out. I ate it fairly within good timing because the food was still hot. The spicy fish was average. Wasn't anything of special to me. The salt and pepper was okay. It was popular the best dish of the 3 I had. The duck was the worst. Really dry. Chuck that into the garbage asap. This is one and done for me. Only if I'm desperate I will come here.

Janet C.

Yelp
As someone who doesn't write reviews often, I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. The food was amazing, particularly the soup dumplings, scallion pancakes, and meat dishes. Everything was served quickly, and the restaurant had a clean, modern vibe. It's definitely the best Chinese place around!

Yelp
Authentic Szechuan has become our go-to takeout spot in Brooklyn -- the food is dependably great, super fresh and prepared to order, with generous portions, and never greasy and or gloppy when it comes to sauces. The Szechuan hot pepper shrimp w adjustable spiciness level is a perpetual favorite with lots of really big, juicy shrimp and very light breading. The stir-fried rice noodles are another -- I usually add pork, shrimp and beef and it's quite substantial and delicious. The beef and broccoli is a standby with lots of crispy veg in it that's not drowned in sauce. Soups are always great, flavorful but not too salty. Our only request is that they start putting soy sauces in the takeout bags!

Yelp
Delicious! Don't be afraid to order level-10 spicy for the proper Sichuan buzz. I got the Chongqing chicken and the smoked tofu and celery appetizer for delivery. So good and very fast to North Slope!

Joseph S.

Yelp
This is a staple in our household, the staff are great and always so friendly and it is a great option for takeout or eating in

Yelp
We have ordered delivery from here a few times now and it tends to be pretty good. The dumplings are great and so are many of the other apps. The main courses tend to be a little weaker, but we keep going back. The duck is very good. Delivery is pretty standard on how long it takes (45 min-1 hourish)
google avatar

Adam L.

Yelp
Have ordered from here a few times now and while it's a tad on the pricey side the food is really, really good! Of all the things I've gotten the best has been the wontons in chili oil. There was a lot going on in the sauce not just spice and garlic, which is always delish but nice to have more! Also big fan of the double cooked pork and their soups! The shrimp with broccoli had really plump shrimps and the broccoli was crispy, not oily at all. The only thing that I've had from there that wasn't good was their fried dumplings. Tasted straight up like frozen Trader Joe's Gyoza. So just get those spicy wontons instead!
google avatar

An S.

Yelp
Messed up the basics. Ordered super spicy general tso chicken. Got something sweet--why give 5 spice options if you are just going to ignore the customer? Delivery was on time. Chicken was cooked well.
google avatar

Lindsey O.

Yelp
I got take out and there were hits and misses. The Mapo Tofu was pretty good, the medium spicy had a good kick without being overwhelming, and the brown rice was well cooked. I'd get the Mapo Tofu again. The delivery came quickly and hot. The wonton soup was kind of flavorless by comparison to others. I know it's not known for being packed with flavor, but it had almost none. The scallion pancakes were WAY too crispy, maybe just under burned. They weren't burned, they didn't have the burnt taste or any blackened parts but they were just too hard. Wouldn't re order.

Yelp
Seriously good, authentic Szechuan food! Ordered Cumin Lamb, Double Cooked Pork, and Braised Lotus Root through DD. Arrived hot and spicy. Cumin Lamb came with red onions, herbs, and bao. So tender and tasty. Double Cooked Pork was so flavorful and I loved the extra leeks. Braised Lotus Root was better than I expected. Diced and full of spice. Order came with plenty of rice and portions were good compared to other Szechuan places in BK. I'm so happy I found some authentic Chinese food within delivery range! Look forward to ordering again.

Yelp
Warning: this is not a review about Americanized Chinese food or your Panda Express like Chinese takeout. Born and raised in China, I always worry about not having authentic Chinese food around after I moved to United States. I lived on UWS for three years before moving to Park Slope in 2015. Luckily there's one Chinese restaurant in the hood that serves some authentic Chinese spicy food. Believe me, I tried almost everything in the hood before settling down with Authentic Szechuan. Early on during COVID-19 lockdown, they closed for a couple of months. I was heartbroken worrying this gem would be closed like many other businesses. Fortunately they came back! Food is always consistent, delivery is always fast, and they use their own delivery person(tip more please)! I urge you to try things under House Special if you don't know much about authentic Chinese cuisine. You will get more delicious food there. I rarely order Americanized section because I often find them to be too sweet for my taste, but it seems to be common for my American friends(another Diet Coke please, anyone?) But of course, if you really want to enjoy Authentic Chinese food, please support Chinatown(Manhattan, Flushing and 8th Ave in Brooklyn)! They deliver too through Seamless, UberEats, and Chowbus.

Yelp
Authentic Szechuan is awesome. It's definitely some of the best Szechuan takeout in Brooklyn I can't speak to the restaurant itself since we've only ordered delivery, but we've always received the correct order within a reasonable amount of time ~45min. We order the Szechuan Fish in clear, which is our fav - the red has a LOT of chilis and can be a little overwhelming to eat. The chongqing fried chicken from here is AMAZING. Truly, you need to order it. Really amazing flavor, a super crispy fry, and the perfect amount of spice. If you love Szechuan Fish and amazing Chongqing fried chicken, plzzzz order from Authentic Szechuan!

Yelp
My friends and I ordered a veritable feast from Authentic Szechuan, which included all the Sichuanese staples. The menu is not at all exclusively Szechuan food, with plenty of American Chinese takeout dishes like sesame chicken and pork fried rice to go around. I even noticed chicken nuggets on the menu, which somehow feels out of place but also very fitting at the same time. I believe there's sushi on the menu too, so they're really trying to do everything. I suppose this should've been a red flag, but some people really swear by the food at this place. We stuck to dishes like mapo tofu, wontons in chili oil, stir fried string beans, and eggplant in garlic sauce. Most of these dishes are extra saucy and go really well with white rice, which came in abundance with our large order. Though I scarfed down my late night order with fervor, I noticed the vegetables were overcooked to the point of being mushy, though the sauce was flavorful enough to mask the unpleasantness of this. Flavored mush, tastes pretty good with rice! The dish that gave me the most pause was the Hunan shrimp because the shrimp itself was also mushy. There are few things more unpleasant than biting into a mushy piece of shrimp, indicating that it was not cleaned properly or that it's really not fresh. I had to stop eating the rest of my meal at that point. The prices are low, and it sounds like people really enjoy a number of different dishes. But I'd definitely stay away from ordering sushi or any seafood from them. If you want some late night cheap eats, this is your place, just have the right expectations going in.

John T.

Yelp
Spectacular. We really like Hunan Delight (always well done) but wanted a variation, so we tried Authentic Szechuan-and bam! While maybe obvious, we hadn't thought about the difference between Hunan cooking and Szechuan cooking, but it's now clear. A solid choice.

Yelp
So good!!! Authentic. Tastes very similar to the HOT & TASTY restaurant in Flushing, Queens. Ordering was easy, friendly. And food comes piping hot in 20 minutes. Everything was fresh, delicious. Love it!!!
google avatar

Anastasia K.

Yelp
Food was delicious! Tried the fried dumplings and soup dumplings, both really good. The fried dumplings were cooked perfectly. Portions are big. The pork belly is also a must.
google avatar

Maggie C.

Yelp
Fast delivery from seamless, and they have authentic Chinese and Cantonese dishes. But do they taste authentic?? ...no. A little too unseasoned, a little too greasy. BUT! They have dishes here that you would have to travel to Chinatown for. I haven't come across anywhere in Forte Green that serves water spinach/ong choy. Rather unseasoned, though. Stir fried eggplant was much too greasy, and also undercooked. It also had a sour taste to it. Salt and pepper shrimp were good! Butterflied well, with good flavors. If you're hankering for some fairly good Cantonese, but don't want to travel to Chinatown, you know where to go.

Jeremiah G.

Yelp
Only did takeout. In consistent. First time excellent. Second time so-so. They do not dumb down the spicy quality as much as a lot of Chinese restaurants.
google avatar

Melissa T.

Yelp
Don't order food from here. It won't show up. If you want to donate your money to a local Chinese restaurant for no reason, this is your spot.

Anwar S.

Yelp
I like Chinese food, szechuan food in particular, and have ordered from this place for years. The food has generally been quite good. Dishes like long hot pepper beef, mapo tofu, hot and sour soup, Chong Qing Spicy Chicken, sautéed spinach, and spare ribs have generally been good to excellent. But in the last few months, the quality has declined sharply, even when eating in the restaurant. It seems that the main chef or chefs are no longer there. I tried asking someone there about, but they did not or could not say anything. Has anyone else had this experience lately? Can anyone recommend another place in Park Slope with this range of cuisine and (former) quality?
google avatar

Emmy V.

Yelp
The place itself isn't that nice. But the food is absolutely authentic. Amazing Szechuan food. Lunch special comes with soup and rice for the price less than $15. We got beef and trip in chili oil, pork and peppers and bean cud fish fillet. My favorite was by far the bean cud fish fillet. It looks very spicy but it's tolerable. The fish itself was very tender. Flavors are on point. I can't wait to order from here again.
google avatar

James H.

Yelp
Honestly, this is the best Chinese food I've had in the city. The Orange Chicken is amazing. They always get the order right. Delivery is always fast.
google avatar

Kayla S.

Yelp
The delivery received from this place tasted like the chinese food I'd expect to find in Connecticut more than Brooklyn. The food was bland and kind of soggy. Our fortune cookies were stale to the point that ripping it in half was flexible? Not sure what happened there. Bland, I can forgive. Soggy, I can endure. But... I also ordered vegetarian dumplings. Half of them were full of bland vegetables... and the other half were full of meat. As a vegetarian, very unimpressed... The experience as a whole was disappointing and I won't be returning.
google avatar

Daven J.

Yelp
Food was over 20 minutes late. My wife and kids were ravenous. The one saving grace was that they all love soup dumplings and I had ordered the Juicy Pork Buns. My wife took one bite, spat it out and started gagging. "Its raw", she said. I couldn't believe it, but then I cut into each of the 6 dumplings and they were all completely uncooked raw pork inside. I was horrified. I called the restaurant and they refunded me $9 with barely an apology. I'm not sure what I expected, but I expected more than that. I don't think my wife will eat soup dumplings anymore and I'm pretty positive we won't be ordering from here again.
google avatar

BJ S.

Yelp
The spicy specialty meals & soups are really better than your average Chinese food takeout.
google avatar

Steph M.

Yelp
Delicious and authentic Chinese food. I order from here at least once a week. The scallion pancakes. The cucumber. They have great lunch specials. Yummmmm
google avatar

Jade C.

Yelp
At what point do we hold these restaurants accountable for their BLAND food?! I ordered their food tonight & I truly regret it. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE SAVE YOUR MONEY. Trader Joes frozen food taste better than this garbage. I wish I could get my money back. 1 star for delivery he came to my door but everything else TERRIBLE.
google avatar

Cody C.

Yelp
It pains me to write this, but this place has seriously gone downhill. I used to love eating here, but that has changed. What used to be my favorite place, I now no longer go to, for the following reasons: - On several separate occasions, the imitation chicken that they use for the vegetarian general tso's has tasted sourly as if it has gone bad. I've had to send it back each time. - On one occasion, there was a large house fly in my sauteed bok choy. - On top of all of that, the dishes are always oily now. They need to fix their dishwasher. Take a look at the dishes and you will see an oily film over all of them. The thought of it turns my stomach. I so badly wish that this place would return to its former glory. It wasn't so long ago that it was THE great place to go to. Now, not so much. Fingers crossed.

Yelp
I ordered some Chinese and when the driver arrived he wouldn't come upstairs. I insisted that I wouldn't come down because I wanted a contact free delivery and he could just put the bag on my unit doorknob. The restaurant then called me and told me my apartment building was too "dangerous" and that's why he didn't want to get out of his car. I live in a primarily family building 1.5 blocks from Prospect Park. There have been ZERO reports of violent crime on my block in the 2 years I've lived here. The people are friendly, helpful and welcoming! Only point of note...the majority of the residents on my block are black. Order cancelled and credit given by Seamless. Hope the driver and restaurant enjoy their food.

Yelp
I haven't been back yet and its been a hot minute. Originally came during Authentic Szechuan's "GRAND OPENING!" which may have continued on for perhaps a month at least. This was close to a year ago. They aren't brand new anymore. But they had advertised half off all of their sushi. How can you resist that offer?! First, I will get the gritty out of the way: They had almost none of their alcohol in stock as advertised in their menu. I understand they were brand new but when I inquired about sake they said they still had none. Second, there was no one in the restaurant when I went in and the service was a bit slow. The good qualities are mostly in their food. But then, their sushi isn't the freshest. It's hard for me to make a legit complaint though when I ordered like a tuna and eel roll for $2-3 each. The best part of their food were their steamed soup dumplings and their scallion pancakes. THOSE WERE SO ON POINT that I'm thinking about them now and wondering why I have not been back. Regardless, if you want some really cheap but still good americanized asian food, this is a good spot. I'm sure they have worked out the kinks since I have gone and now have a fully stocked bar. I'm still going to stick with 3.5 stars though until I make a return visit.
google avatar

Ryan C.

Yelp
The food is really good, but the problem is that they use complete morons for their delivery service. We've had items missing and the last straw was tonight when their delivery driver just randomly decided to not show up. Can't enjoy what you don't have.
google avatar

Peggy C.

Yelp
Really great Szechuan staples. This is our go-to for take-out Chinese. On the regular rotation is the double cooked pork, dry pot chicken, and the string beans with minced pork. Even Americanized dishes like General Tso's and beef and broccoli are done well. Prices are reasonable for the quality. Food is always hot and prepared quickly. Service is friendly and welcoming. This is one of our favorite neighborhood spots.

Alis U.

Yelp
the chow fun was a little on the saltier side but I really enjoyed the chong qing spicy chicken
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
Excellent. Best Chinese food I've found in the area. All very fresh ingredients. Smoked Duck was delicious. Definitely will be ordering from here again.
google avatar

Sumen T.

Yelp
I'm going to recommend this place as their beef dry hot pot was really good. It has the right numbing and spicy taste. I especially love the leeks that came with it. The wait time for food is fast and staff their are really nice.

Pavesplage P.

Yelp
Finally found a genuine Sichuan place that has the full range of dry pot, pepper sauces, chili sauces, etc. Stick with these and you can't go wrong. The ordinary dishes are nothing to write home about, in our experience. Except the soup dumplings, which surprising survive delivery.
google avatar

George L.

Yelp
I've eaten in and had delivery multiple times. Before judging this place, understand that no place does everything well and if you sell sushi, szechuan, Thai and American-Chinese, none of it will be that great. Here are my observations: 1. Eat in. The food quality is sub-standard upon delivery or take-out. It get ms overcooked and soggy. 2. Stick to Szechuan and Hunan specialties. This is not your corner frozen food "Chinese" shop. If you don't like Szechuan or Hunan, order elsewhere. 3. This is not a Japanese restaurant. Leave the sushi orders for those. If you're looking for somewhat authentic spicy Chinese food, this is a good call. Not 100% authentic, but close. The service when dining in is good too.

Bernardo M.

Yelp
I certainly wouldn't order the Americanized Chinese food here given the opportunity to get some delicious Szechuan meals! My go-to dishes for Szechuan places I haven't tried before are mapo tofu and cumin lamb. While I feel the mapo tofu could have had a little more Szechuan peppercorn (I love the extreme numbing feeling and almost citrusy zing), this was better and less oily than most places. They are generous with the lamb portion (sometimes you get too many onions/peppers!) and the seasoning is spot on. Love that they serve this dish with little bao buns too.
google avatar

Shana H.

Yelp
So their food was just aight but their CS was pretty darn good. I opted for the chicken fried rice. Simple right. Nah, and why not? Because there were too many onions in it. I like onions but it was all I could taste in the rice concoction. My friend ordered general tsao(sp)? which was better than the chicken fried rice and fresh tasting too. The restaurant decor was beautiful and very intimate. Perhaps we should have known that the food would just be okay since we were the only ones there. Never again, well only just maybe perhaps considering again.
google avatar

Esther J.

Yelp
Friend took me out to try this neighboring place. Had really good spicy chicken dish and lo mein. And some Chinese spinach. Food was on point. Service was nice. My water had stuff floating in it. Tap water, or perhaps a one off. Will go again!
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
Authentic Szechuan is one of my favorite places for takeout. I first ordered delivery from them a few months ago and have ordered about once every 1-2 weeks since then. My favorite dish on the menu is their Chong Qing chicken dish - it's crunchy and spicy, very flavorful and a generous portion (I usually have leftovers for lunch the next day). The dumplings & wontons, the double cooked pork, and bean cud fish filet are all great too. Delivery is prompt and never cold. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Jeffrey R.

Yelp
A good mixture of authentic Szechuan food and American Chinese food. And of course Japanese food which holds up it's own. Not the best but by know means the worst. For me I find the taste of the food is above the neighboring Chinese restaurants. I give it thumbs up.

Joan W.

Yelp
Just like the name! A surprise in park slope - don't have to travel all the way to Sunset Park or Manhattan's Chinatown to enjoy spicy Szechuan dishes! Will definitely be back! Outside nothing to speak of but interior is roomy and comfy!
google avatar

Fran W.

Yelp
Awful experience. We tried this place on a friends recommendation. The chongqing chicken is mostly greasy fried batter. Dan Dan Mian is cloyingly sweet. Double cooked pork...not double cooked. See picture. Extremely fatty with foul smell.
google avatar

hannah k.

Yelp
Ordered on seamless and it arrived 45 min late, thankfully the food was still warm. Unfortunately the food was bland and not worth finishing. I don't know how this place has good reviews.
google avatar

Ashley O.

Yelp
This place is the best Chinese in the neighborhood. They have a great, extensive menu (and I've tried a lot of it). Some of my favorites: cucumber salad, Chongqin chicken, double-cooked pork, spicy dumplings, sauteed pea shoots.
