STAY AWAY!!! This place is a nightmare. I reserved a Ferrari months in advance for a special event being held in Austin. I live on the east coast, and my only reason for traveling to Austin was for this event. When I called to make the reservation I spoke with the manager, Daniel Lee. He assured that the specific vehicle I needed was available for those dates and instructed me to make the reservation through their website. As I was doing this, I noticed that they have a no refunds / no cancellation policy. I did not pay it much mind because my trip had already been booked, tickets purchased, and there was no way I was going to cancel the car rental. So I made the reservation. I called Daniel back to confirm they had received my reservation, paid for the rental and vehicle delivery in full ($4000 + $400) and was emailed a confirmation. This was all done a month prior to the date I needed the car.
One month later, I arrived in Austin the day before the vehicle was to be delivered and called Daniel to touch base and make sure I was all set for the following day. It was at this point that Daniel told me the vehicle I had reserved was in the shop being repaired and that they would be unable to deliver the car as promised. Daniel offered to provide me with a Bentley as a replacement, but for the same price (though the Bentley is offered on their website for several hundred dollars less per day than the car I had already paid for). In addition, I reserved a Ferrari because I needed a two seat supercar. Not a land yacht favored by old rich fat guys. Keep in mind that this is all happening within 24 hrs of when the vehicle I had reserved was supposed to be delivered. I HAD TO CALL THEM to find this all out. No one from the company had reached out to tell me the car was no longer available.
I told Daniel the Bentley would be unacceptable as a replacement and requested that he instead just refund my money, so that I could rent a vehicle that would suit my needs from another company. It was at this point that Daniel told me could not issue me a refund as per their no cancellation policy, only credit toward a future rental! I was furious. I live on the east cost and have no use for a $4400 credit toward a car rental in a city halfway across the country.
I accused Daniel of running a scam and told him I would be disputing the charges with my card company. At that point, he became irate, cursed me out and hung up the phone one me. Then he immediately emailed me a revised version of my contract where he had crossed out Ferrari and hand written in Bentley! I immediately contacted my credit card company to dispute the charges. Auto Exotic responded by providing them a copy of the contract Daniel had altered, and told the credit card company I had canceled my Bentley Rental so no refunds as per their policy. My credit card company sided with them and now I have a $4400 store credit for an exotic rental in a city I probably will never be in again. Meanwhile, I was able to find a vehicle that suited my needs for the event from a Houston based Exotic Rental company. With only 12 hrs notice they delivered the vehicle I needed to my door in Austin, free of charge.
I have since called Auto Exotic to inquire about my store credit. They told me that it had since expired. Daniel no longer works there and nobody seems to care at all. This place is a total joke. In the end, I paid these guys $4000 up front plus $400 delivery for a vehicle that never even came. The greedy jerks even kept the vehicle delivery fee!!! Outrageous. I have sent several emails trying to reach someone with any authority over there to explain my situation. To date they have ignored my repeated attempts at contacting them. I am now considering dragging them into court. PLEASE....Take your business anywhere else.
