Aux Armes de Colmar

We found this French restaurant through google map. It didn’t disappointed us. Everything was almost perfect except waiting time for food. But good thing is always worth waiting. Waitress welcomed us in Chinese friendly. Food was delicious.nothing to complain about. The restaurant is not that big, full of customers most of time.

Amazing restaurant. We were lucky to get a table at lunch and they were very welcoming as we also brought our dog. Food was very good, especially the starter scallops. Also the wine was great. Lovely staff. Thank you! 🙏🏻

Food was average. The sides - mushrooms and potatoes are good. But the steak is not very good. Tasted more like chicken and doesn’t taste very fresh. Servers aren’t very nice. It’s way too expensive for this quality of steak.

Arrived mid-week without a reservation at opening (midday) and with luck was seated immediately. I would say the service is efficient with a touch of warmth, and based on my observations I, a non-French speaker was not treated any differently to the French-speaking patrons (nor other non-French-speaking patrons). I ordered from their Menus du Terroir which showcases the region’s traditional dishes. I chose the escargot and the choucroute. The choucroute was absolutely delicious - the smokiness of the meats wasn’t overwhelming and the ham and bacon were so tender. The sauerkraut was also excellent and the portion generous. Sadly I cannot comment on the dessert as I did not leave enough room for some but I’m sure it would also have been a solid representation of a regional speciality. I would strongly recommend visiting this unassuming restaurant to experience traditional Alsatian dishes.

I highly recommend to book a table in this city center restaurant. The food was delicious. Staff friendly. Service very good.

Reservation required in advance!!! A small and cozy restaurant, located in a single room with just a few tables, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff is extremely attentive, and the restaurant manager ensures that every detail contributes to an excellent experience. The prices are reasonable, and the overall experience is delightful. We will definitely return with pleasure!

Perfect find just down from main street quiet .staff very funny and perfect English spoken .food and selection of drink amazing .put this place on your list you won't be disappointed. Indoors or outside .thankyou for a great meal

I have never written a review. The waitress was very lovely, she made my meat 100 times better. I dont remember her name, but both of them were really awesome.

This is a great casual restaurant serving Alsatian food. Our favorites: * Scallops on the half-shell with dried tomato butter -- very flavorful * Alsatian charcuterie platter -- very colorful * Ham braised with Munster cheese -- very cheesy We also got the baked salmon with noodles, which was just okay. The salmon wasn't seasoned well, so it was kind of bland (1 star off). Aside from the salmon, everything else was great. This includes the Kougelhopf ice cream cake with Marc de Gewurztraminer and passionfruit mousse. During Christmas, I heard there is chestnut mousse. As if Colmar doesn't already look like a cute town ready for Christmas, having chestnut mousse would make it feel even more festive.

Nice little place slightly off the beaten path in Colmar. Lunch rush was way understaffed on the day we were there and one table left at which point we got their menus after sitting for 20 minutes. But ultimately it's a nice local place with some tables outside on the sidewalk and quite a few inside. They even have a mobile air conditioner! For lunch the food was very good, and we didn't mind the wait too much. I'd rather eat here than one of the huge touristy restaurants on the main square a few blocks away. I would definitely return, but hope for quicker service next time.

Recommended by a local and away from the crowds. Unfortunately the service is slow and unfriendly. We sat down for 20+ mins before being offered a drink. Solo waiter, rushed us through ordering and didn't bother to let us taste our bottle of wine or to pour it. Wine was corked, but we didn't have the guts to say anything. Food was good so that helped.

My husband and I had an amazing 2 day trip to Colmar. It was a wonderful experience fueled mostly by the food here - an interesting mix between French and German cuisine. Aux Armes des Colmar is a quaint little restaurant down one of the many side roads in Colmar - hole in the wallish vibe. We were met with great hospitality and even better food. My husband had the house special, pork and sauerkraut dish. He is not a fan of sauerkraut but wanted to try the local specialty. He commented it was best sauerkraut he's ever eaten. It probably helped that there was giant succulent pork shank sitting on top. My risotto and seared scallops dish wasn't anything to scoff at either. Deliciously creamy and perfectly seasoned. If you ever have a chance to travel to Colmar, I definitely recommend this place. You will not regret it!
