My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Aux Augustins on our first trip to France. Our genial hosts, Sabine and Patrick, assisted us every step of the way, from making dinner reservations at the wonderful Le Barrio as well as providing us transportation to and from the airport. The location of the hotel was perfect and we were delighted to experience the Saturday market right outside the front door. Our comfortable room was accessed through a beautiful, well cared for courtyard where one could sit and reflect on the day with a lovely glass of Rose. There are many restaurants nearby but I recommend you arrange for breakfast at the hotel ahead of time, especially on a Sunday morning.

Our host, Sabine was very helpful and welcoming. The location is central yet away from the throngs of tourists.|I loved my attic room with roof top patio and view of ancient church tower. We had a delicious dinner at the bistro across the street.|A beautiful historic property with sensitive renovations. Our stay definitely enhanced our experience in Avignon.

It was a privilege to stay in this immaculate, charming and tastefully renovated guest house located in what was once a 13 Century monastery within the walls of the historic city of Avignon. There are several good choices of rooms and suites and we had everything we needed at our fingertips. We so enjoyed the lovely courtyard in the center of the property. Owners, Sabine and Patrick were kind, helpful and welcoming and we so enjoyed being within walking distance to wonderful restaurants and historic locations. We especially enjoyed stepping out of the front door of the guest house to visit the market that offered beautiful flowers we enjoyed all week, delicious foods and crafts. Parking is available if needed as well as lots of good advice for your stay. We loved our stay her and will return.

My wife and I had a great time here. Sabine and Patrick who run the place are very friendly and helpful. We had the attic room, which does have very low ceilings as they mention on their website, but the private terrace with a view of a 14th-century tower is amazing. The room and common areas were all very clean, and the private courtyard, which the attic room overlooks, was nice and quiet which I really enjoyed because the streets can get quite noisy on the weekends. If we’re ever in Avignon again, we would definitely stay here.

We spent 14 nights in a two-room apartment that has a small kitchen, a charming balcony and a bathroom with good shower fixtures at Aux Augustins in Avignon. Sabine and Patrick, owners, were extremely helpful, friendly and they gave me so much help I will always remember their kindness and hospitality with great fondness. Those 14 days were among the best of our 26-day journey to France and the hotel was by far the most comfortable. Thank you Sabine and Patrick!

What a lovely surprise to walk into our spacious room, open the armoire, and find a complete kitchen inside, including refrigerator, stove, sink, and even dishes! The room was very quiet, due to its stone walls, once the church bell stopped ringing after 10 P.M. This B&B is a bit of a hike from the train station, but worth it, as it is close to Les Halles, bakeries, historic buildings, the old city wall, the river, and all of the sights. Be sure to arrive during arrival hours if you want to be met by the lovely (and multi-lingual) owners. The price does not include breakfast, but we always oversleep on vacation, so it wasn't an issue for us. |One point to be aware of is that although rooms are non-smoking, there is a courtyard where smokers on the ground floor sat and smoked, causing smoke to waft into rooms directly above.

My partner and I just spent a couple nights at this wonderful place. We found the location away from the very touristy area of Avignon just perfect. It was a close walk (maybe 5-10 minutes) to some of the main attractions and it was easy to get to a bus stop to explore Villeneuve Lez Avignon just across the river (highly recommend). Lots of good restaurants and small shops very close to the hotel. I would say the ONLY thing we found lacking at the hotel: good pillows... they were flat and encased in a thick plastic.... not enough of an issue to rate below 5 stars and Nicholas was kind enough to give us two additional pillows. Just surprising because everything else was top tier and very comfortable. The courtyard in the middle of the rooms/apartments was an oasis that made you feel very much away from the busy streets. Very quiet, well appointed without being fussy. And Nicholas was very kind in orienting us upon arrival with suggestions and directions. Would definitely stay again.

This hotel, (or B&B, or Apartment) was one of the most positive hotel experiences I have had in a lifetime of traveling here and there in the U.S. and Europe. The hotel is in a antique building within the walls of Avignon. It has been remodeled to preserve the building's heritage, while also being a comfortable and complete hotel facility. It is a small and personal hotel that is remarkably clean and well run with excellent service. It is well located in a quiet and historic/traditional street in the center of historic Avignon, and is literally a 3 to 4 minutes walk to the central market of Avignon (which has some public parking), with numerous shops, and restaurants in that surrounding area. The owner is on the premises daily and speaks good English (as well as French and German) and is very personable and helpful. While car traffic is somewhat restricted within the Avignon walls, this facility may be reached by car or taxi, though it is also only about 9 minutes walk from the train station, just outside the walls, which has a rail shuttle service to the high speed TGV rail station. My room retained the traditional charm of the original building, but also had very adequate and modern heating and air-conditioning facilities, and complete modern bathroom facilities with abundant hot water. The room also had a small kitchenette and though I did not use it it had everything to prepare food. The building was quiet, had good security and I slept soundly. The service was very good and the rates were reasonable.
