It's a very expensive bakery offering medium quality products. We bought a savory bread "filled" with tomato and mozzarella and one with bacon (we asked for another one but the personnel gave us that one). The filling is practically absent... We laughed a lot though. At least it gave us a good topic for jokes. We also bought a Traditionnel baguette, which was dry and quite mediocre. On top of that, people at the counter are rude and they make you feel they are making you a favor by selling you their products. There are so many good bakeries in Paris with better quality that it's juste a waste of money and good mood to buy in "Aux Péchés Normands".

Google
Freshly bake pastries. Reasonable price and great croissants. Coffee is good, too. They have combo for morning, a crossant and an expresso for 2.5 euros, not bad at all.

Google
It’s very eye catching boulangerie in rue du Temple area very near with Place de La Republique. The ambience very inviting and typical classic French bakery and patisseries. Tried all their best sellers is tasty fresh and all the staffs just kind and friendly.

Google
This place is so delicious. My gosh. Merci beaucoup for making such wonderful food. Their cafe du lait was some of the best I've had in Paris. And their croissants ugh.. I need more. I may stuff my bags tomorrow with treats from this place before I leave. The staff are wonderful. Thanks for everything. I love Paris. I love the food and this place signifies everything I have been looking for when it comes to Parisian bakeries.

Google
Loved it! Very delicious food, cappuccino was also good. Very cheap for what you get, thought it would be more expensive. But it's really affordable! Spent 6€ on a cappuccino, a piece of cake and a Madeleine. I'd love to come again! Thank you for the lovely experience <3

Google
Delicious food: we had the strawberry tart, the pistachio eclair and a chicken sandwich, all delicious. The staff was nice, and friendly enough. They have a few tables outside too, and are situated in a good location.

Google
Very delicious variants from sweet to sour, if you want to have a light delicious breakfast I really recommend this place ❤️

Google
Up early today and this is the first bakery open at 6am near our hotel. Well worth the 11 min walk. Great pastries, great service, friendly staff. We also got pastries to go for our 7am flight to Prague tomorrow morning.

Yelp
This place is very close to crowne plaza hotel just around the corner Has savory and sweet items They are efficient and everything taste much better than anything in the United States lol

Yelp
All pastry was really good. My fav was the Quiche. The Quiche have onions and egg and the texture is soft and taste awesome when it is hot(first photo) Second photo has apple in the middle and is good because of how much apple is in the middle. Text is not quiet soft as a croissant but thicker as a whole when bitten. Third photo has raspberry in the middle and is good. This version of croissant has more crunchy texture but not too hard. The flavor is inside inside of the red outside.

Yelp
This corner bakery/patisserie is located near the Republic Square area! It's a very typical Paris bakery, and they offer anything from pastries to quiches! Everything tastes and smell fresh baked! I would skip an opulent breakfast over their espresso and croissant any day! one of my personal goal is to find the best croissants in Paris each trip, and yet consistently, they have the best tasting ones, which are so flakey on the outside yet buttery and fluffy on the inside!
google avatar

Yelp
Came to this bakery because they were open at 6am. I got the chocolate croissant and it was the most delicious croissant I've ever had. They accept American credit cards. It was small inside so I dined outside. Service was nice

Yelp
Have been 6-8 times and in my lightly informed opinion it's the third best I have tried after Carton and French Bastards. I love the pistachio flan, the 'pudding' (bread pudding), the coconut flan and the pain aux raisins. My mother-in-law also loved the pain au chocolat and the brioche with sugar. The only not great thing I've tried is the croissants which are often overdone. That said I will gladly buy a tranche of 'pudding' and walk on over to the canal to sit and enjoy it.

Yelp
Sinful! This super busy and appropriately named bakery (Norman sins) is a wonderful and good value spot for lunch! The display cases are filled with luscious looking cakes, pastries and savoury lunch options. We managed to restrain ourselves and just have a salad and quiche - but it sure was tempting!!

Yelp
Kouign-Amann FTW! Happy happy happy oh so happy the kouign-Amann makes me happy. Yippee yip.

Yelp
The pastries here are so insanely delicious that they can close on the weekends. Because there are so many people that want to eat their delicious croissant, pain au chocolat, or anything else during the week that they don't need the extra cash, and they obviously know how to live. Here's what you do: 1. Buy yourself anything at all. 2. Add in the pain aux raisins because it's my favorite. 3. Go eat it all by the canal. 4. Rejoice because this magical castle of deliciousness exists, and happiness can be bought there for under €5.

Yelp
Large selection, something for everyone. We had an almond and chocolate pastry, strawberry tart, a potatoes and sardine cold salad, tomato and mozzarella bread, and a salmon and chive quiche. All of which were so yummy.

Yelp
This bakery did not disappoint! I picked up a variety of goodies for your traveling companions, and it was excellent. It is a cute bakery in a good neighborhood.

Yelp
Dealing with a bit of jet lag we couldn't sleep past 430 am. I think my hunger pangs had something to do with it as well. So now awake I get on Yelp. Trying to find something open is next to impossible. So here we are doing our do diligence in our search of our next epicurean experience. Then Bam!!! My fiancé finds this place that opens at 6 am. I didn't even notice that it had 5 star reviews until I decided to write my own review of the establishment. Well, this place did not disappoint whatsoever!! The pastries were out of this world delicious!!! I uploaded a picture of our selections. I say, " try them all"!

Alain V.

Yelp
Food was amazing and the service was excellent. My first time In París and the gentleman at the counter was extremely helpful.
google avatar

Gab G.

Yelp
Best bakery/cafe I found on my entire trip! They've got multiple cases full of every type of pastry, plus a section with prepared food. Went totally crazy and tried: + mixed green salad with cantaloupe and prosciutto + mini pizza with tomatoes and pesto + peach tart + chocolate bread + almond croissant + plain croissant + apple turnover The peach tart was perfection. The almond croissant was as amazing as any I've ever eaten. The plain one may be the best I've ever had. The apple turnover was bomb.com. Only disappointment was the chocolate bread, which was too tough and not worth the effort. The "real food" (the salad and pizza) was also delicious, not to mention much needed after the pastry marathon. They heated the pizza up there which is a plus, and have a few tables to sit at.

Yelp
I've had a fair amount of croissants in France, living here for over a year and it's easy to find mediocre croissants but hard to find exceptional croissants. My friends and I had gone down the street to Du Pain et des Idees for escargots and they had gotten a croissant there the day before, which was smaller, more expensive and not as good as the croissants here. For just a little over a euro, you can get a delicious, fresh, flaky croissant. It has flaky layers and it was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, just as it should be. Overall, a wonderful place with a wide variety of pastries, breads and other viennoiseries. Worth a visit if you're in the area and craving something sweet.
google avatar

Rochelle Q.

Yelp
It was Valentines Day and I was craving some desserts. This was near our Airbnb so we walked over and saw some really cute Valentine's Day themed desserts. I wanted to buy everything but I knew I wouldn't finish all of them. We went around closing time so they didn't have that much left.

Yelp
I'm addicted. This Patisserie was nearby my hotel so I thought I would stop by for a quick breakfast, and quickly decided to come back again. and again. and again... The croissant, the pain au chocolat, and more are perfect for breakfast on the go. They melt in your mouth, I swear. The sandwiches are made with such perfection and delicious bread that it's obvious they know what they're doing. I did try a different patisserie in the area, and while it was good, it didn't compare. I don't know what Aux Péchés Normands does differently, but you need to try it ASAP!
google avatar

Yelp
We wanted to sample a variety of artisan bakery items while we were in Paris and boy did we get lucky that our hotel was a short walk away! We happened to visit around lunch time on a weekday and it was so busy but the clerks were extremely efficient and very kind! I am fairly comfortable rattling off French food items, but if I was unclear, she took a moment to confirm and it went smoothly. If you visit in autumn, do not miss their seasonal apple beignets! Lovely place. I hope to go back one day!

Yelp
Sweet Lord of tasty treats. I don't know that you will find a better situation to be in when hungry just arriving from the airport. Coffee, Sandwich and Quiche all taken to the Republique Square for a nice little lunch. Perfect! 5 Stars for obvious reasons above.
google avatar

Marilyn T.

Yelp
This was a great flaky croissant (beurre) for only €1.20. The flavor and texture were great. However, the star was the pain au chocolat, which actually used really good quality chocolate, which a lot of places skimp on. The plain baguette was solid, as well - still warm in the mornings Friendly service, and they speak English. A lot of the croissants we've had at "highly recommended" places have been pretty disappointing, but Aux Péchés Normands was legit.
google avatar

Willy W.

Yelp
Located next to Place de La Republique, this artisan boulangerie and patisserie serves many locals. It's right between Republique metro station and Canal St Martin. I'm lucky enough to live within 3-5 minutes of this place, and have yet to eat anything that isn't delicious here. The staff is generally very patient and nice. They speak some English if necessary. I usually just buy some stuff to go, but they also have a little bar where you can eat your croissant and cafe. Also don't miss out on their sweets and little stand for sandwiches and panini's. It's really very tasty. Too bad they are closed on weekends.

Yelp
Quick review: I had a bottle of orange juice, which was fresh and very sweet. Absolutely delicious. Also bought and ham and cheese croissant, which may have been the best one I've ever had in my life. That said, I haven't had much food in Paris yet, so it may just be par for the course.
google avatar

Carol G.

Yelp
Best butter croissants and a great price. The ham and cheese sandwiches are a great deal and have a lot of flavor. Friendly staff and they speak english.
google avatar

Tally Y.

Yelp
Best place for a sandwich is Paris? I think so. Giant baguette with lots of tasty filling! Plus so many delicious looking pastries, cakes, etc. I was staying very close to Republique so I set out to get some lunch and snacks on my last day in the city. What an amazing lunch, and it was only one sandwich! Chicken salad baguette is simply scrumptious. Will be hard pressed to find anything as good in London though I am going to try. This place has now become my standard for measuring boulangeries. Also picked up a slice of chocolate cake and an eclair for dessert. Very, very good but the star of the show for me were the sandwiches. Side note: I ordered in French but it shouldn't be a problem for English speakers to go here as everything is labelled. Inexpensive, delicious, satisfying. Go if you're in the area or even make a specific journey here, it is well worth it!
google avatar

Kim C.

Yelp
This huge patisserie & boulangerie has a huge selection of delicious gateaux, packaged with care by the friendly staff. The eclairs are particularly good - thin, crisp shells bursting with tasty fillings.
google avatar

sindy d.

Yelp
Love this boulangerie! They make delicious super buttery croissants (1.30 e), creamy cakes (16 e), and savory sandwiches (5e) at a competitive price. The staff is friendly and open to people of different cultures. There are only a couple seats, so don't come here expecting to find a place to sit down, it more of a pick-up and go. Even when there is a long line, it goes by fast because the staff makes sure they cater to everyone in an efficient manner. If you are in the area, definitely worth coming in and trying for yourself. It is also conveniently located right next to the exit/entrance of the metro. Love love love!
google avatar

Alejandro L.

Yelp
If you are in Paris, I highly suggest to visit this establishment. I bumped into it out of luck and wished somebody would have told me about this GEM a little earlier. Anything you decide on you will not regret. I also found my new favorite dessert here, New for me but maybe not new for you but this dessert is the best dessert I've ever had in my life (yes in my entire life)!! The macaron sandwich available in mango and pistachio flavor is to die for. They are also very helpful here at the store and since I didn't know much French, all of their staff still made me feel so welcome !!
google avatar

Kevin L.

Yelp
I love this bakery! A lot of choice and it's really good
google avatar

Karrie S.

Yelp
Such a great patisserie that I discovered in Paris thanks to Yelp! This place was full of locals getting their bread and pastries early in the morning, so you know it's good. The people were friendly even though I couldn't speak any French. I had a chocolate croissant that was amazingly flaky and buttery. I definitely recommend going here if you're looking for a legit French bakery, and not a tourist trap!

L K.

Yelp
my favorite boulangerie/patisserie in Paris (and we went to a LOT). They have the largest variety of breads, pastries, sandwiches I've ever seen and everything I had was delicious. I especially love the mini choux and creme brûlée (they definitely are significantly better and more fresh in the morning, got an almond croissant in the evening once and it was very flat and mushy)
google avatar

Amy T.

Yelp
this little gem is amazing. the fresh smell of a parisian bakery and the lovely ladies that take care of you. everything and I mean everything is delicious. i just about bought up the entire place when we got in. we went back everyday on our short trip. worth every visit!!
google avatar

Miriam B.

Yelp
For 5 yrs I worked in a bakery so I like to think of myself as very selective about baked goods. My family has been visiting this bakery for yrs. The quality and consistency of the food is what draws us back each time. Amazing ham and cheers croissants bursting with 3 kinds of cheese. Warm beignets( doughnuts) with cafe au lait. Truly decadent cookies and parfaits. For only 2 Euros in the morning you get a giant croissant and cafe au lait. Everyone should visit this place just take the metro and get off at the republique stop.
google avatar

Brian C.

Yelp
This bakery kicks ass! Near the republique metro. They have croissants and coffee for 2 euro in the morning. This place makes fantastic pan chocolats as well. Almost all of the lunch baguettes are tasty with lots of filling - can't go wrong. The butter croissants are to die for - totally worth it to pay 10 cents more compared to the croissant ordinaire. This bakery is way better and more traditional then the other bakery in the 10th arrondisement that Anthony Bourdain recommended. Make sure you stand in line and order first then pay. We made the mistake of ordering always at the cashier line and some of the ladies will give you a glare and a dirty look - just smile back! Highly recommended!! It's closed on the weekends so try and get your fix during the weekdays.

Yudy Arleth M.

Yelp
The chocolate bread is absolutely amazing. Its impossible to loss weight when you are in the hotel in the corner
google avatar

Holly S.

Yelp
The most amazing assortment of breakfast items, pastries and breads you could want. I recently stayed a block away and tried it my 2nd day thanks to Yelp. I ended up going back everyday for breakfast! It is a must if you are in the area. Do get your fill during the week as they are closed on the weekend. Try your best at French ad they speak little English but were still very helpful and nice. Five stars all around!!

Darlene A.

Yelp
Best baguettes in the world. Actually, best pastries and cakes, too. We started every day, and even went when they were closed (May 1st is a holiday, btw). There wasn't a thing that we purchased that we did not rave about. I've given their info to every friend that told me they were going to Paris. I can't wait to visit again so we can go back to Aux Peches Normands.
google avatar

Grant M.

Yelp
My favorite boulangerie in the area. It's a little intimidating coming here because the ladies behind the counter are so fast and efficient. About the time the 10 person line is gone you're standing there only half prepared to order in French so I suggest you prepare before you get in line. The croissants are just about perfect in their flakiness and flavor and they're still about 1 euro. Same for the baguettes and to be honest most everything I've tried here. The amazing thing about this place is the shear amount of cakes and desserts and breads and ... you get the idea. There is no less than 6-8 people behind the counter buzzing back and forth packing up orders. Attached to the north is an organic bakery and to the east a small to-go window that has quiches that are out of this world. I've been eating quiche in Paris for a decade and I'm not sure how Aux Péchés Normands makes theirs so tasty - it's like the dough is more of a brioche than a crust. Anyway my only complaint is that they're not open on weekends so for two days a week I have to go somewhere else.
google avatar

Shila B.

Yelp
Most people who came in knew what they wanted. I just came in and stared at everything it looked so beautiful. I had some strawberry cakes. Super busy bakery, expensive. Good customer service.
google avatar

Alex L.

Yelp
The workers speak English so we were able to ask what was what. They were super friendly and we went there multiple times just for a snack before heading out to explore. All there baked goods are fresh made you can see some of the barkers work in the back. Just remember to get the croissants there. They are light fluffy and buttery

N M.

Yelp
Just fantastic, mouth watering endless selection of sweet and savory...LOVED IT!

Nancy B.

Yelp
Absolutely magnificent! Can't wait to come back for a cafe olé and croissant tomorrow.
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
Wonderful pastries at a good price and it doesn't feel fussy. I loved the cannele! They are pretty patient with non French speakers too.
google avatar

Erin B.

Yelp
We had the good fortune of staying right next to this lovely bakery/patisserie during our stay in Paris. We ate a lot of pastries and this was easily our favorite place. My favorite was the pain de pomme. But everything here was the tops!
google avatar

Juan J.

Yelp
Very good breakfast pastries, good price, helpfully ladies that didn't speak much English but patient enough for point and nod.

Jeffrey B.

Yelp
Everything they have is fantastic, but I could eat the croissant au jambon every single day. Very friendly service. If you're staying around this super cool area, be sure to visit them for breakfast.

K T.

Yelp
Everything is amazing!!! The savory, the sweet, the staff, everything. In particular the pistachio chocolate pastry is a stand out, must try. Baguettes are perfection, and their sandwiches use outstanding meats. Go and get a wide variety to sample, you will thank me.
google avatar

Uche M.

Yelp
This is by far my favorite place to buy pastries in the Republique area. The lemon tarts are SO good and well priced for what you get. I miss it so much now writing this review. Give this place a whirl and perhaps on a warm day sit on the Place La Republique area and people watch while eating some. The croissants are wonderful too. *sigh* I miss Paris!!!!

Khizar K.

Yelp
Awesome pastries and macarons, staff very helpful, everything we tried was great, wished they were open on the weekends!!
