Assault by Security Guard – Extremely Serious Incident at Avalon Fethiye
On July 13, 2025, around 03:00 AM, I visited Avalon nightclub in Fethiye with a group of friends. After we entered, we were unexpectedly told—without any explanation—to remain isolated from the other guests. We complied and stayed in the club for about an hour.
By 04:30 AM, the venue had mostly emptied out. We moved just a few steps to the side when we were immediately told to “go back to your place.” I calmly and politely asked why we were being spoken to like that, considering there was no one else nearby. A staff member then kindly asked us to leave the club. We did so without hesitation and caused no disturbance.
Outside, I spoke to the same staff member and expressed my dissatisfaction with how we were treated, despite having spent money inside. The conversation was peaceful and not confrontational in any way.
Suddenly and without warning, I was struck hard from behind by a security guard I had never spoken to or seen before.
My friends tried to de-escalate the situation, calling out things like “don’t hit, stop!” but they were also assaulted. There was absolutely no provocation, shouting, pushing, or threatening behavior from our side prior to this incident.
The same staff member—reportedly the brother of the attacker—later approached us, apologized, and asked us not to go to the police. He offered free drinks and food as “compensation.”
At that moment, I noticed police officers nearby at the corner of Avalon. I went straight to them and explained what had happened. The officer asked if I wanted to file an official report and told me I would need to come to the station.
While speaking with the officer, more staff members approached us again—this time offering us money. They admitted full responsibility, said the security guard had previous issues with the police, and claimed he was too afraid to apologize while officers were present.
During a long discussion involving the police, we were suddenly and falsely accused of harassing women. This accusation was completely baseless. Neither I nor any of my friends had spoken to, approached, or interacted with any women that night.
I demanded to see the CCTV footage, and after some pressure, they eventually admitted we had done nothing wrong.
Later, we spoke with Avalon’s owner and other staff members, who apologized again and made various offers to prevent us from filing an official complaint. I requested access to the security footage and gave them my phone number. The owner of Avalon promised to refund our money as an apology. He has made this promise multiple times, but to this day, nothing has been transferred. Every time we followed up, we were given new assurances—but no action. Unfortunately, this part of their apology also turned out to be empty words.
No guest should be physically harmed or intimidated for any reason, and such behavior must have consequences. Visitors—especially tourists—should be extremely cautious before visiting this venue. or don’t visit this place at all!
