I don’t know how it’s only got a 2-star rating. Lower your expectations people. My room was perfectly clean and had everything I needed. We stayed for 2 nights during probably one of the busiest weekends of summer and we didn’t get bothered by noise at all. I loved how close it is to everything. I didn’t drive all weekend! I deducted one star because of the price and there was a musty smell in my room, perhaps an old flood or the air conditioner but it wasn’t a huge deal. We’ll definitely be coming back! Oh, and the art on the wall was really cool! I even took a picture of it!

motel has great proximity to everything! staff were helpful with our reservation questions (recommend room #123). -however- people above us (room #223) stomped relentlessly from 5-10AM and again 8-12PM. hope to be back again soon

We got the family suite, which the layout worked perfectly for our family to separate the baby from waking up the 4 year old throughout the night. Also great sound-proofing since we didn't hear any other guests and it seems they didn't hear us. The location makes walking around really convenient, and we were even able to watch the famous Osoyoos Canada Day fireworks from the comfort of the rooftop balcony. This was perfect since the kiddo could sleep until the last minute when we woke her up to see them. Also made it so we could avoid the traffic afterwards. The air conditioning was nice and cold, but is only in the front, so you need to keep the bedroom door open to let it in, or it gets a bit stuffy. I have family that always stayed here when they used to come every summer and it was nice to hear that the original owner's son has now taken it over. I love to support a family business. The only thing that I wish was a little better was the floor was rather dirty when we first arrived. The owner was friendly though with my mother when she brought it up, and even took it upon himself to personally clean it up. I'd also argue that most hotels with carpeted flooring are probably just as dirty, but that the carpet hides it easier than tile. But tile is much easier for any accidents in the kitchen too, so still a good call that they have it. Will definitely stay again, especially for the affordable price!

We stay at the Avalon Inn every year when we’re coming back from Nelson BC to our hometown as it’s the halfway point. It’s usually decently, clean and nice and cool. This year the bathroom was not clean at all. There was urine on the seat hair hair in the tub and you could just tell that the tub in the shower had knob and cleaned. Service was amazing. Location is great just disappointed this year.

Pleasant little motel. Friendly & helpful front desk agent. Just stayed for one night on our way through in the family suite with our dog. We were worried about how noisy it would be on the Hwy and ground floor but only noise we heard was the squealing pipes in shower. The bedroom was a bit cramped with the two beds but we could overflow into the living room. Clean and quiet was what we wanted and they delivered.

The dirtiest room I have ever stayed in. Management/Owner total oblivious to the issues. I am complaining to Hotels.com and the Environmental Health officer in Osoyoos. The floor could not have been cleaned for days; certainly not since the last guest left. The dining room table wasn't clean. There was a foot print from a trainer on the sofa. The worst room I have ever been in. The pillowcases smelt - had they not been washed or incorrectly washed. Give this place a miss. Angela Walsh

Love the free level 2 EV charging. Rooms are clean & spacious. Many restaurants nearby.

Excellent option for a family, near downtown, clean, well equipped. But please avoid this dark brown color in the rooms and bedcovers 😅 It’s old fashioned and depressing!

Yelp
Hello, new member of Yelp! Hello, great place to stay in Osoyoos! I looked at a few options, mostly local, and Avalon spoke to me with its good reviews and decent price (under $100 once converted to USD). Sure enough, it's a comfortable place that is really quiet despite opening outdoors - I'm sure the town gets no traffic at night. Hotel staff is friendly but know the office is not 24 hours, so make sure you get in at a reasonable time! That'll earn you a key and a nicely done-over room - this is clearly an older place but they have done their best to keep up. All the plugs and lights and A/C etc. worked, which is no longer something I take for granted at non-brand hotels (or even sometimes branded ones...). No breakfast, you just leave when it's leaving time, so that's a downside. Use the money you saved for that I suppose.

Yelp
This is a quaint clean place. Best deal in town on the day we arrived in June. Efficient check in. An EV level 2 chargers and place to sit outside. Right on the main road so not ideal but for a quick stop, great.
