I keep trying to like this place but something is always amiss. Ordered take out and all of the sashimi in it was frozen. Not my idea of fresh fish in a sushi restaurant. What WAS thawed out was fine tasting, but not worth the money I spent at all

Google
Really solid spot for the price. My girlfriend and I both enjoyed the sushi rolls, and they were quite affordable. It is also a tight, small seating area but its cute and fun. The service was also decent as well. I would recommend going with the rolls that aren't "special" because even though the special ones are good, and maybe worth a try, the regular sushi rolls are good and give you more value for money.

While exploring Chinatown in Boston, we wanted to find an authentic sushi place and even though sushi is Japanese, and we were in Chinatown, we found a great little place! Avana sushi was tucked into unassuming little food court, where three or four other businesses are packed in a small space. There is limited seating, but there is inside seating. There was a bit of a language barrier as the owners wasn’t great, but we got through it! Everything they made was from scratch, and it was amazing! We got there right as they opened and we were the first customers but as we sat there eating our food, the phone didn’t stop ringing and local customers poured in and out nonstop ordering lunch to go which for us as a telltale sign that this is a place that the locals love and that tells you everything you need to know! I would definitely recommend this if you’re looking for sushi in Boston! We will be back!

Went to pick up avana sushi and then ate it at home. It is a bit tricky to find, but its actually a mini-mall/food court area inside a slightly larger complex. The sushi is cheap and tasty. You get filled up pretty well. You can get 32 basic rolls for 30 dollars. Id say thats a good deal. Highly recommend the spicy tuna and salmon rolls. Specialty rolls are great as well.

Google
A great hole in the wall - be aware that the seating inside is very tight, I can understand why it’s mostly a takeout spot. Onto the sushi - we tried the following rolls in order of our favorites. 1. Crazy Salmon: the quality of the salmon was excellent, super soft, and it paired well with the jalapeños and other ingredients. 2. Spicy Rainbow: the mango in this was super fresh and sweet - fantastic roll 3. Red Sox: the shrimp tempura inside tasted old, otherwise this one would have been excellent.

So happy with our sushis! We came already 5 times and cant get enough. Good price & quality

Google
If you’re looking for a solid, no-frills sushi spot, you have to give Avana a try! We decided to give them a try a few weeks ago, however Uber picked up the wrong order. Avana has a semi-large menu with something for every sushi lover! We always like to start with appetizers. Avana has favorites like pork gyoza, edamame, shrimp shumai, and shrimp tempura. We did an order of the Edamame, Shrimp Shumai, and the Pork Gyoza. The edamame were steamed perfectly. My only complaint would be that they were NOT salted. Most places I’ve been to always salt the steamed edamame. The Shrimp Shumai was ordered “steamed” and it arrived perfectly. Not undercooked or overdone! We ordered the Pork Gyoza “Pan Fried” and they were done perfectly, not too greasy. The dipping sauce was also phenomenal. If you’re looking for something lighter, they do have a nice selection of soups and salads. You’ll find Miso Soup and Pork, Chicken, or Shrimp Dumpling Soup. If you like salad, they have you covered. You’ll find seaweed salad, a classic house salad, crab and avocado salad, spicy tuna salad, spicy salmon salad, and spicy sashimi salad. If you’re a vegetarian you’ll be thrilled to know they also have a selection of Vegetarian Maki rolls! My favorite category here is the raw and cooked Maki rolls. They offer solid, classic Maki rolls and a few “specialty” maki. The prices are very reasonable. A few of my favorites are the Spicy Crabmeat Avocado, Shrimp Tempura Roll, Rock n Roll, and the Fancy Salmon Maki. All the Maki rolls are incredibly fresh and flavorful. You get 8-Pieces per maki roll. You can’t go wrong with any of the “Specialty” maki rolls! The salmon, tuna, and other fish are super fresh, no issues in terms of freshness. If you’re looking to share sushi with a date or friends, they’ve got you covered. They offer combos and platters of varying size. If you’re looking to cut out the rice, they also have a small selection of “Naruto Rolls” that are rolled with cucumber sheet. If you’re a fan of sushi and/or sashimi, they have a phenomenal selection of fresh sushi and sashimi. The Salmon and Tuna sushi were both excellent, generous portion. The sashimi comes with three pieces per order. The sushi comes with two pieces per order. You’ll also find a solid selection of sushi bar entrees, combos, and platters. There truly is something for every taste and appetite! I would highly recommend Avana for a solid, no-frills sushi spot. We ordered it via delivery and everything was fresh, hot, and packaged perfectly! I look forward to ordering here again VERY soon!

Google
This is a hole in the wall sushi place. The food is very fresh and delicious, there are few chairs to sit on when you order in, but they do a lot of take out and delivery. People come from all over the world to eat here and leave small personaly decorated dishes for others to see when they visit themselves. It is right the corner inside with other sushi kiosks so you have to go into the building to see it.

Michael R.

Yelp
Great spot for good sushi at a very reasonable price! The Miso soup was very good and the filling of the crab rangoons was perfect. Theres a huge menu selection so we just picked some special rolls and they were all very fresh. The service was a little slow and there were only 2 tables in the restaurant so it seems more of a take out spot. Would definitly stop in again or pick up for take out. No frills type of place but good food!

Jimmy N.

Yelp
For $40 you get 6 nigiris, 12 assorted sashimi, and one spicy rainbow maki. It's such a good deal! The sashimi tasted fresh and the spicy rainbow maki was pretty good. Highly recommend getting this! The price is unbeatable.

Thomas T.

Yelp
Avana is hidden inside a corner location with other smaller vendors. There's very limited seating and many people order takeout from here. If you can get a seat, it feels wholesome supporting a really small business. The food is very affordable with a good selection on the menu. The miso soup came out very hot, perfect on a cold night. The sushi was prepared quickly and tasted good for the price. Don't expect anything fancy here.

Katie H.

Yelp
We came for their lunch special (pricing in attached image, 11-3). The restaurant is located inside along with multiple other small restaurants. There was limited bar seating and one small table so if you have a group it might be easier to grab/go for takeout. They accept card/cash at this location. The lunch special was delish and came with a yummy miso soup. Each roll comes with 8 pieces. We ordered one special with sides and the sides were a bit small (2 gyoza and a small scoop of seaweed salad), but with the miso soup we left all feeling full! Recommend the shrimp avo roll :)

Maddie V.

Yelp
For the price and quality it's really hard to beat Avana sushi. The fish and rolls are always so good without having to break the bank. It's not going to be the best sushi you've ever had but it's still pretty high quality. 48 pieces on the maki regular platter only costs 37$ and is worth every penny. If you come here also treat yourself to one of the chefs special rolls because everyone that I've tried so far has been so worth it!

Jef H.

Yelp
We arrived after 6:00 pm on New Year's Eve. Many places were closed, and Boston Commons was already crowded for the festivities. We popped in for a quick meal. We had a couple of sushi rolls, poke, and shrimp tempura ala carte. There were a lot of take out customers, some regulars were greeted by name. After a while our order was brought. The food was OK. I was disappointed that there was no tempura sauce for my tempura.

Woo K.

Yelp
There really isn't much of an ambiance. It's a shared space with other restaurants. The seating is extremely limited and cramped. But tbh I welcomed it all. I don't mind the cramped spaces. The food product was ok. For the price? Sure. But definitely can tell the quality wasn't top tier. I've had cheap sushi places and this has to be like mid range. Don't get me wrong, I'm not expecting the best of the best. But some parts of the meal I felt like just chewing as fast as I could. The only saving grace is the Inari roll, and the spicy tuna roll. That's it. Would I come back? Prob not.

Eric Z.

Yelp
This tiny little sushi stand delivers fantastic sushi every time that tastes fresh and is quite affordable for Boston sushi. They're also super prompt to answer the phone and take specific requests and modifications which I really appreciate. The staff is friendly. The ambiance is nothing to write home about being in a tiny cramped food court but that's part of the experience. I'll continue to be a regular here both as a delivery customer and in person

Filipe V.

Yelp
This place was alright, nothing fancy. Miso soup was served in a coffee cup, and gave a small styrofoam plate for the sauce dish, which the sauce dish itself was a flimsy gray plastic piece. Gyoza dumplings were decent, but didn't like the sauce that came with it, as it tasted a little strange. However, I really did like the miso soup. I had an upset stomach before having lunch here, and as simple as it was, it did the trick. Eel sauce was good, but the sushi itself was underwhelming and didn't taste much from it.

Molly C.

Yelp
Avana is definitely a hidden secret in Chinatown. A stall is a small food court, it definitely isn't extremely sleek. But what it lacks in style, it makes up for in food. We shared 3 rolls and the team at Avana did a speedy job & the rolls themselves were fresh. Would def recommend to someone looking for a quick sushi fix.

Melissa G.

Yelp
Amazing sushi! If you are craving really good sushi go here!!! I got take out and was not disappointed at all! The fish was fresh with the best taste. The quality was amazing as well! Hoping to make it in to actually sit down instead of just take out because I can't imagine if the take out was this good it must be even more amazing if we went and sat down.

Megha U.

Yelp
This place is rather underrated for the amazing sushi they serve. Intact even my vegetarian friend loved this place. The highlight is the miso soup- can you blv such a simple thing can be so good!?! Also try their mango avocado roll and thank me later.

Catherine A.

Yelp
I'm not sure if it's because we came at the end of the day, but our meal was awful. It didn't taste fresh and we left most of it behind. I think gas station sushi would've been better :(

Adina S.

Yelp
I ordered from Avana Sushi on UberEats. They were running a buy one, get one free promotion for the crabmeat mango avocado maki rolls, so I decided to order four rolls... and then I ate them all at once. I was happy to see that my order was correct because I've had some issues with restaurants not honoring promotions in the past. The sushi rolls were pretty fresh. Some sushi with mango that I've had from elsewhere hasn't tasted so fresh, but this mango was actually really great! It provided a nice balance with the avocado and crabmeat. The rice was cooked perfectly and the rolls were perfectly composed. The pickled ginger and wasabi were pretty standard, but added some great flavor. I'd like to try this place in person, but I think it's a great option for delivery, too!

Z M.

Yelp
Simple, quick, and delicious. This was all under $10 before tax and tip! I ordered online and went to pick up. Great sized portions for the value.

Rosa Y.

Yelp
I've only had Avana as catering at work, but it's consistently hit the spot. For the price, it certainly won't be the most amazing sushi you've ever had, but it's a good value. The rolls are fresh and the delivery is quick. Can't speak to the ambiance, but from the other reviews it seems like it's a small space and not the best for dine in.

A C.

Yelp
I got takeout sushi from here once (tuna nigiri, eel nigiri, and eel avocado roll). It was still fresh and decent when I got it back home (after an hour train ride). The prices are really affordable too. It's not your over the top super fancy or high quality sushi but I think it's very good. Would recommend

Kevin W.

Yelp
Ordered spicy tuna hand roll and miso soup Hand roll was great Miso Soup was not good. Food was made very quickly and there were places to sit. People were very nice

Lisa P.

Yelp
It was insane how inexpensive the sushi is here. It is hidden in a food court so it might be easily missed. The service was quick and it was very casual. It felt very hole-in-the-wall like. But I will admit that I was overwhelmed by the thick cut of the salmon.

Lauren D.

Yelp
Great sushi and miso soup. I get take out here all the time or walk to grab a bite to eat solo. You might be on folding chairs and table to eat but its great for a great price.

Grace H.

Yelp
I think this place has one of the best sushis in boston. The price is also very affordable and they make it very quickly and fresh! I've gotten multiple of their specialty rolls and I like the red sox roll. I've never eaten inside because it's small but I would order take out.

Melanie W.

Yelp
Affordable price... ordered at ubereat for pickup, buy 1 get 1 free, no complain under $7, food was ready after I placed my order less than 20 minute.

Lily D.

Yelp
Good value for the price. Good snack and good vegetarian options, the roll I got was only $5.

Heather F.

Yelp
I love this place! Fantastic find in Chinatown. Hidden in a back shared space on Beach and Harrison. The prices are unbeatable. Family owned with excellent customer service and high quality sushi.

Ockers D.

Yelp
Smaller spot with great lunch deals. Their miso soup is very good. They were very quick and the service was good, they were quick and attentive without doting too much. Would absolutely eat here again.

Andres D.

Yelp
I was not expecting great things from this tiny booth inside a cramped food court (if you can even call it that; more like 4 restaurants sharing a hole in the wall). But I was very pleasantly surprised. It's priced like a pretty standards sushi restaurant, which gave me pause since again, it's not a restaurant kind of venue, but the sushi was actually amazing. Really really high quality fish and some delightful creative rolls. The nigiri were great due to the fish quality. And their take on a Rainbow roll was really fun--mango and avocado in place of cucumber takes it to another level. In the future I intend to do some of their platters, which are very reasonably priced, to share with a group. Definitely looking forward to coming back!

Erin K.

Yelp
This is the most price efficient, mid tier sushi restaurant. Now, I am a lover of sushi but I am not a sushi connoisseur. I have had my taste of fresh seafood and can definitely tell the difference. I personally think that unless you go to a really high end omakaze place in Boston, most of the sushi quality you will eat is pretty much the same. Even more so if you eat it in a roll form, and the pure sushi flavors is masked by the rice, sauce, and other veggies. Is this a place to take a fancy date? No. But if you are looking for a truly no frill, standard Thursday night I don't want to cook and I am really craving sushi moment, this is the place for you. Food I've tried: - SPICY SCALLOP AVOCADO ($6 - 8 pieces): I mean look at that price! At any other place with fancier decoration it'll probably be $10+ dollars. Maybe even in the $15 range if they sprinkle some tempura flakes on top with cucumber slices. Flavor is exactly what you expect, and the rice is not overly salty. Scallop freshness is reasonable, and on par with other standardly priced sushi spots in the area. - EEL AVOCADO CUCUMBER ($5 - 8 pieces): Refer to my previous point about the great price! Flavors are again, what you expect. Eel quality is reasonable. - Presentation of the food definitely feels homey, even the plate is something that I would own at home. But I thought it just added more to the charm of the place. Atmosphere: - Definitely a hole in the wall vibe. Service: - Friendly staff, got our food relatively quick. Overall: - PRO: so much value. - CON: yes not the fanciest, but we still appreciate these finds.

Doug T.

Yelp
We had a delicious meal of mango, tuna, avocado sushi in an unassuming, casual space. We also enjoyed the dumplings.

Neo P.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious hole in the wall typa place. I had the bbq eel on a large poke bowl. It was $16, which is a good price considering other poke bowls costing $20+, and avacado, caviar, and other toppings were free. Service was good, nothing stellar but also felt like I was talking to a human, so take what you will from that. Definitely would eat here again.

Lana L.

Yelp
Pretty good quality sushi at very reasonable prices. My boyfriend and I had two miso soups and four specialty rolls of sushi and the total came out to be just $50-$55. My favorite was their Spicy Crazy Salmon roll, which had spicy salmon, avocado, tempura flakes, and spicy mayo sauce. The space is small and there isn't much seating, but we came for lunch on a Saturday and there were a few tables available. They have a lot of variety on their menu, so I'd be excited to try other stuff next time I'm here. Taste | 4 Atmosphere | 3 Presentation | 3.5 Service | 3 OVERALL | 4

Marissa G.

Yelp
Amazing customer service! Uber Eats messed up our delivery and Avana hand delivered our remade order within 5 minutes, thanks Chris!

Whitney S.

Yelp
Really great melt in your mouth quality sushi!!! so much cheaper than it could be considering it was brought out quickly and was super delicious. loved it!!

Shuang Z.

Yelp
Def a gem in the city! Happened to find this place on Uber eats: they have the most affordable sushi in town! We tried the basic rolls: red snapper avocado roll, yellow tail avocado roll, white tuna avocado roll, and the dragon maki. The fish pieces inside of the sushi are HUGE! And rice outside is very thin. Def the beyond my expectation for its price. And the dragon roll is amazing!! I loved the eel on top of the roll! It's not the fancy sushi places where you can fancy rolls but if you just want sushi for easy lunch or dinner, the is def the place to go. Definitely the best you can get for the price. P.s. much cheaper than Whole Foods' sushi and tasted way better.

Fox E.

Yelp
We'll start with Rickrolling instead of Sushirolling. We're no strangers to sushi You know the rolls and so do I Yum and good value's what I'm thinking of You wouldn't get that from any other Sushi place I just wanna tell you what I'm eating Gotta make you try this place Avana never give you up Avana never let you down Avana never give you the runs And hurt you Avana never make you cry Avana never say goodbye Avana never overpriced Or dessert you And now for some limericks So please write this down straight in your planner While you suck on your boyfriend's banana When in Chinatown You must head right on down And get cheap-ass sushi from Avana It don't matter if you're a man or A woman or even Cait Jenner You'll love this raw fish It'll make you its bish And you'll keep coming back to Avana Go to my site, click on their banner While I'm in the salon getting tanner I'm in love with these rolls They provide #SushiGoals So I'll always have love for Avana If you're from the slums or from the manor Eating here is obvi, a no-branner And if you feel suspishy It's because it tastes fishy But it's so damn good tho at Avana What. Avana come back here as soon as possible, and Barbie might not expect much, but as Sushi tries it, she'll love it too. What can I say about this amazing little sushi place inside the food court that hasn't already been said. We are talking about some of the best sushi I've ever had in my life and I'm not a big Sushi fan so for me to rave about sushi it has to be really good and this is really really really delicious stuff. It's hefty and chunky and gooey and tasty and lovingly, expertly, classically put together. They really know what they're doing but they're also doing it for $5 for a roll. I mean these people are f***ing awesome. The girl was a real sweetheart and super nice about taking my picture. She picked out her best roll from the cheaper menu for me and I enjoyed every bite and could have eaten about five more of them even though it was a very generous portion especially considering the price. I literally got full on it. But it's not the size that matters (although girls tell me it so does). It's the taste. And this is not only the best sushi I've had in Boston and not only the best I've had in Massachusetts but probably my fave ever. No wonder this place has great reviews - but it should have even more. It's because it's hidden in a food court in Chinatown that people don't give it a try if they have spoons up their noses, or are afraid of the world and such. Come and try it for yourself. It's in the same place where the Egg Puffs are so you can't go wrong. Try those too. They were serving them up long before puffles were a thing. This is quite simply one of the best sushi restaurants I've ever been to. I think a lot of people are all about the decor and the experience and how upscale getting Sushi can sometimes feel. I'm not about any of those things. I want my food to be delicious and preferably I want it to be affordable and good value. So if someone is offering me $5 for a big amount of sushi that will actually semi fill me up then I'm going to give it a try. Especially when the reviews are as amazing as these. I expected it to suck - wow, was I wrong. I know that because they are in the little food court in Chinatown that they are able to keep their prices low for such a generally high price product. But oh my God that does not affect the quality whatsoever. In fact these are some of the best sushi rolls I've ever had in my life. Not just that but the people serving them are angels and some of the nicest people that I've had serve me up some sushi. I adore them and I will definitely be back here on a regular basis when I come back to Boston. Not just my favourite sushi in Boston but in the top five of the best sushi I've had in the country, possibly the best of all, and also the cheapest most affordable best value for money and some of the friendliest as well. The most unassuming, too. Talk about rewriting the rules and proving that Sushi can be a cheap street food instead of the overpriced crap that doesn't even taste as good as this that 95% of you will consume next time you eat sushi. When you come to Boston please try this and tell me it's not some of the best you've had. I couldn't honestly like it any more than I do. If I could give 10 Stars I would. And there's plenty of places to sit and eat even though it's in a tiny little food court. Remember to try the Egg Puffs at the back of the court - there was a time when this was your only egg puff option and what a great option it was. In fact it was my introduction to the concept of Egg Puffs. But let's focus on the sushi and how orgasmically good it is. By finishing with another limerick. Or should I say Lime-roll. You got Sushi-rolled. Could have been worse, you could have been Rick Rolled. Again. So I don't mean to sound really Douchey Or to pressure you and come off Pushy But when in Boston Mas

Sarah S.

Yelp
Decided to do take-out sushi from Avana Sushi through Uber Eats and it was pretty good! Went for the speciality rolls since they were decent in price, and was surprised at the quality and flavor profiles. Really liked all of the rolls! My favorite was the Volcano Roll followed by the Spicy Rainbow Roll. Would definitely do take-out again if I have a sushi craving.

Mellany B.

Yelp
I like that you can order ahead online & pick up if you're in a rush. Good quality, affordable sushi that is located inside a *small* food court. I've been multiple times & it has not disappointed me. There is not much of a waiting area and it gets awkward if more people come in. What I like is that they give you a disposable dipping dish for your soy sauce! Tip: They do have a $10 minimum for credit card, so make sure you have cash if you are only stopping by for a small snack.

Stacey T.

Yelp
Unassuming sushi spot in a mini foodcourt in Chinatown. We were pleased with what we ordered and even had leftovers. Overall it's a great bang for the buck and we'd definitely order from here again. The specialty rolls are reasonably priced and dare I say cheap For starters we ordered the spicy seaweed salad and seafood salad. They were both good. The seafood salad came on a bed of iceberg letters with some assorted veggies and mango and crunch sprinkled on top For rolls we ordered the following and liked them all. Some were a little heavier on the rice but we've definitely had worse in Boston: - tuna cucumber avocado - good, classic - spicy yellowtail avocado - they accidentally added crunch but otherwise good - spicy rainbow maki - spicy red dragon maki - spicy baked salmon maki

Bruce K.

Yelp
In the heart of Boston's Chinatown, Avana isn't exactly easy to find. Lots of signage for others but they don't have much of their own. And they share the space with an "express" and a lady who sells egg tarts, so it's definitely interesting and full of character. I stopped in for sushi and did pretty well, ordering a hand roll and two maki rolls. Nicely assembled, well plated and delicious. Maybe a little heavy on the sauces but not enough to "ding" over. Service was okay, but this isn't exactly fancy dining. I want to see a menu, order and pay. For those things, the young lady who took care of me was great.

Brazz R.

Yelp
The best sushis! The service was fantastic and fast and prices were reasonable considering the quality. Lots of tasty choices and tasted fresh which is the most important factor. I absolutely loved this place, the drinks and vibes are perfect. The place is not too loud. I would recommend this place for all sorts of occasions. It's simply perfect.

Christina N.

Yelp
Take out order: Tuna, salmon, bbq eel, octopus, mackerel, tamago, spicy tuna avocado and seaweed salad(not pictured). Staff was kind and service was fast. The mackerel was really sweet!

Sarish B.

Yelp
Avana Sushi is my go-to sushi restaurant when I want quick service and fresh fish. Although the maki platter is a bit pricy, it is worth every penny and far more affordable than other sushi restaurants. During our quarantine, this became our "treat yourself" meal after a long week of working from home. The decorative elements and attention to detail in the preparation to the sushi made it look almost too gorgeous to eat. This was a meal that I can compare to ambrosia, the food of the gods. I would highly recommend it to anyone. I am salivating just thinking about this experience. Avana, if you ever need a taste tester you know where to find me!

Trinh H.

Yelp
Avana Sushi is a tiny hole in the wall of Boston. You won't find cheaper and better quality sushi than this! I absolutely adore the way they plated each entree - everything is so well presented with the colors. You'll find yourself paying between $7 to $12 per person and you'll be getting so much! I was honestly so in love with their sushi that I ordered a second plate to take home. The only, only thing I dislike was the fact that there is barely any seating areas. There's probably about 10 chairs total in the entire place and it's sooo cramped. This is because the little shop is shared with two other little shops right next to it.

Anne Z.

Yelp
Keep in mind - I'm not a sushi connoisseur by any means and I'll happily indulge in grocery store sushi if I know it's half-decent, but I had trouble enjoying Avana Sushi. I don't know if it was because I ordered it for delivery, or if it was just an off day, but the sushi itself felt... dry and old. The fish seemed to be not very fresh and the rice was pretty hard. I still ate it all because again, not a sushi snob here, but definitely had an upset stomach the rest of the day (first meal of day, not trying to insinuate anything here). I might try it again once things are back to normal, but may hesitate next time before trying.

Ruby S.

Yelp
We've been ordering takeout several times a week during the pandemic to support local businesses and because it's difficult to cook with our schedules. Out of the 100+ take out meals we've had, this sushi spot has been the best one so far! We've had sushi from several restaurants nearby, but nowhere have the rolls been as fresh, delicious, and creative as this location. The signature chef's rolls are under $15 here, where as most places charge $15+ a signature maki roll. Every signature roll we tried is delicious. My favorites are: Phoenix maki, spicy crispy nice tuna, rainbow maki, crazy salmon maki. We tried several other regular rolls but they weren't as great as the signature rolls (definitely stay away from the California roll, it's just meh). All in all, highly recommend the food, although I can't say anything about dining in as we've always bought the food home.

Gloria M.

Yelp
Super super good sushi. I got the Super man and Spicy Red Sox and they were both very good.Pretty fresh tasting and all for a relatively cheaper price. Mochi is also really flavorful.

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Great food, great price, but it's situated with other food spots and it doesn't have a lot of seating options.

Solongo E.

Yelp
I had pretty low expectations for this place and they still managed to be lower than that... Or maybe it's my fault for ordering Poke Bowl here. I had countless poke bowls and so far I had one of the worst here. They are pretty skimpy on the toppings and it barely had any flavor. They give you soy sauce, but it didn't really mix well. As other reviewers mentioned, I noticed service is pretty bad here. There were few customers and many employees, but none to properly direct me to pick up my order - and I just had to look around like a lost lamb even though I told them I was there for a pick up. Giving 3 stars instead of 2 because the salmon seemed fresh and they give you some avocado.

Yelp
Avana is inexpensive, provides quick service, and tastes good! The also have pretty kind portions and the fish is pretty fresh. What more can you ask for, honestly? Avana was one of the first sushi places I've ever tried and one of the only places I continue to still visit. This past visit, I dined in for the first time. After all these years, I never knew they actually served people. I thought the seating area was just for those who order and ate there but not necessarily got served since it is a pretty small space and most people only ever order to go or for a quick bite to eat. The service was quick and the wait staff was very attentive. I was pleased. Avana is definitely a place I highly recommend. They're doing great at what they're doing and should keep it up! By the way, y'all should try the rainbow roll. This is the only place I enjoy rainbow rolls from and I think it's because they add mango. Something about the mango makes it a must try! I love it.

Yelp
My friend and I saw the good reviews for this place so we decided to give it a try. Like others have said, this place is a hole in the wall and it's a small restaurant that's next to a dessert place and other small Asian restaurants. The Food 4/5: We ordered the Spicy Crazy Salmon Roll, Spicy Volcano Maki, Salmon Sashimi, and Philly Roll. The fish they used was pretty fresh. My favorite rolls were the Spicy Volcano and the Philly. The Spicy Volcano had tempura flakes on it so I enjoyed the crunchy texture and the crab on top. The Philly roll was awesome because they put a fat amount of cream cheese in it, just the way I like it. The wasabi they used was the cheap kind and I didn't find it very spicy at all. Really no complaints with the food, they were really fast and everything came out like 10 minutes after we ordered. It wasn't the best sushi, but it was a good deal for the price. The Service: 2/5: The people that work here really didn't seem like they could care less. When we first got there, I noticed it was really hot and the server made us sit in a cramp corner spot. I told the server and asked if we could move or at least get some AC and she looked at me like I was crazy and ignored me. They bought the food out and everything, but their manners just weren't there. We got the check without any form of communication. Overall, the food is good and they have cheap prices, but the service needs work
