Avanti Hotel Saigon

Our Home Away from Home: 5 Years of Excellence. My wife and I are a retired couple from Canada who travel to Saigon every year to escape the freezing winter. For the last five years, the Avanti Hotel has been our home throughout December and January. The location is unbeatable—right next to the historic Ben Thanh Market and close to all the major attractions. The rooms are always reliable with big comfortable beds, strong air conditioning, and great hot showers. We also really appreciate the delicious and healthy breakfast every morning. However, the main reason we keep coming back is the incredible value and the people. The service here is truly 5-star. From the reception to room service and the restaurant, the staff makes us feel welcome every single time. We recommend Avanti to all travelers and look forward to returning for many more years to come.

For a 3-star hotel, this experience falls short. On the positive side, the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, especially when assisting with luggage at the taxi on arrival, which was much appreciated. Cleanliness also seems to be taken seriously. However, the overall condition of the hotel is an issue. Floors, fixtures, and general hardware are clearly worn and in poor shape. It appears that management is aware that a proper renovation will be necessary in the near future, but at present the standard does not meet expectations for this category. We were very lucky to have our booking upgraded foc. Booked a Triple room initially, but got a Family instead. This review has absolutely nothing to do with the upgrade. Room is very clean. Even the wash basin has warm water too. Location is awesome with Ben Thanh Market right opposite. Saigon Centre and Square are only 6 minutes away. Anyway the Grab here is soooo reasonable and fast that we booked them all the time. For example, a 10 minutes journey only cost SGD2. We also liked Avanti's breakfast spread which was simple yet sufficient and nice. Thank you! 😊👍🏻👏🏻

I had a wonderful experience here. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and beautifully designed. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. It is the perfect place to relax and unwind.

Location is superb. Just across the Ben Thanh Market. Many foods at the hotel surrounding. Within walking distance to most of the places of interest in Ho Chi Minh. Initially, I book the triple room but upon check in, the hotel staff informed us that the aircon in the room has some issues. So they gave us 2 double room instead without additional charges and they let us had early check in. We appreciate that. The room size is considered small but the bed and pillows are very comfortable. We had a nice sleep every night. Breakfast is very simple, taste ok, not crowded. Will consider to book this hotel again in the future when we visit HCM.

An exceptional stay! Everything was perfect, from the professional staff to the luxurious and clean room. The location is also very convenient. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a true 5-star experience.

Everything is good for this hotel. The price is value for money, the location is spot on, the rooms are clean and adequate, the staff are responsive. Do note that the hotel is on level 2, so you will need to climb a flight of stairs whenever you go out/return. However, the owner of the hotel has a strict rule of controlling extra items which guests may request. We requested for an extra pillow each (there's only one per person in the room) and the reception told us the entire hotel ran out of extra pillow for our first night. We are folks who faced difficulties in sleeping with just one pillow!! So the next day, we repeated our request and the reception told us that there is a ONE extra pillow per room policy even if there are two guests in the room. Just ONE extra pillow! We offered to pay for an extra pillow beyond the quota but were mercilessly rejected. Just folks like me and my friend who were used to sleeping with at least 2 pillows every night at home, the rest of the stay is nothing near home .. nearer to Hell perhaps. Luckily, we did figure our way out. Due to this rigid unfriendly hotel policy, we are unlikely to stay again. That's just us, folks who cannot fall asleep with just one pillow, perhaps it won't affect most of you. Hence, I only removed one star out of the maximum attainable. Thank you for reading.
