1000% go to this lodge if you are considering it. We had the best time. I went with my 3 teenage sons for the 2 day, 1 night stay. We visited and danced with the native tribe, went to the monkey sanctuary, held sloths and macaws, fished for piranhas, did the adventure canopy park with the ziplines, Tarzan jump, high bridge and tightrope, did the nighttime walk where we saw lots of tarantulas and bugs, the sunrise boat ride where we saw pink and gray dolphins, Amazon River swim and heavens knows what else in such a short time. We had a great time and felt completely safe and happy. There was plenty of food and love and care. Oh yeah and we also enjoyed the pool which was clean for a quick dip. And we enjoyed the hammocks at night to relax. We could have easily stayed for another night or two. Thank you a million for an amazing stay! I would go back in a heartbeat.

Whole family enjoyed every minute at this lodge. The swimming pool is allways clean and ready for use, the canopy give you the possibility of see the stunning forest from the top, a really unique point of view.|Rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable considering the location.|We were in raining season and this affected our activities, but the staff really effort to find a way to make the stay enjoyable and make us experience the uniqueness of this environment. A special thanks to Eliseo, our experienced guide.|Food was really good and more than enough.|Overall a really good stay.|

Had the best experience which was once in a lifetime. |Beautiful lodge that’s prepared for the crazy conditions aka snakes, spiders & mosquitoes.|Lodge has wifi which is an added bonus! ||Activities are well organised and are safe to embark on, the guides are well qualified and care about your safety. Highly recommend my guide Alex who took care of us and was always making sure we were happy and safe. Thankyou so much Alex.||Food is very high quality, cocktails are good and they have coffee at breakfast!

Highly recommend booking the Avatar Amazon Lodge, the staff were absolutely amazing and super helpful! The activities were really fun and exciting. Super clean lodge. Freddy, Terry, and Klaus were amazing. Freddy’s an amazing chef, looked forward to his meals everyday. Klaus was super informative and Terry and his partner were very helpful on the tree-top trek!

This was an absolutely horrible experience . Your toilet flushes into the water that your hut is standing on. The food was bad. I relied on my Barebell protein bars to exist.||We had a large group of locals or at least Spanish speakers who were obnoxious to say the least. And the guide catered to them. The guide was nice but his English was not sufficient to make me feel comfortable going on a zip wire. I would not recommend this trip.

Regrettable waste of money especially if you are foreign Excursions: cheap and short, you have about four hours downtime at the lodge between each excursion, they make it seem as though you need a long stay to do them all but they are an hour long and you do 2 a day with an early start, the rest of the time you are waiting at the lodge, which is fine if they had service but you are really just waiting alone in your room or by the pool with no food or drink. I would recommend staying in Iquitos and doing a day trip out on the water, the excursions aren’t unique and are the same ones everyone on day trips do, Food: the food is terrible, we had bread so stale you would snap it in half (not even toasted!) the buffets in pictures are not for you—again they are for people visiting the lodge on day trips and only provided for you if a group comes on a day trip, otherwise you are eating what you are served, don’t like it? Too bad, you go hungry there is no other choice , the food is basic (rice and grilled meat no flavour) not even desserts or breads. Accomodation: the rooms itself were nice enough for a lodge. No turndown service. However, there is no service at the lodge, by this I mean if you want to order a drink and enjoy your holiday—no one is there, they are in the kitchen or hiding away or in their phones not caring about you, god forbid you got bitten by a snake or spider! You’d have no one to help you. This was especially hard because our guide (only present for excursions) was the only one who spoke English and was not there to communicate with staff who isn’t speak English for the remainder of the time at the lodge Adventure park: god help me this was so dodgy, nails and rust everywhere, I cut my leg on the zip line because a huge nail was sticking out the side. Not up to western health and safety standards. Avoid! Service: there is an English speaker who does the online bookings which is fine unless something goes wrong, when we have our honest review we were told we were liars because they asked their own staff. I don’t mind having a bad experience if the company wants to improve but if anything goes wrong just know you’ll be on your own, I see many other reviews say the same thing. Value: all of this I would have shrugged off if it was cheap but it is not, really unacceptable service for this price. Do yourself a favour and either splurge for the treehouse, cruise or stay in Iquitos and do a day trip out on the river, it is below hostel standards. I do not recommend and wish i read a review like this before I booked. Edit: this response from the owner is full of lies, I see other reviews have the same response.(“from different nationalities” see again how they don’t value English speakers..yikes) be prepared for this kind of treatment in her response…if you don’t agree, you’re basically mad. I hate to be this nasty but it’s just cruel treatment, especially like us who saves for years to come here. Take my advice and spend your hard-earned money elsewhere.

The lodge was clean and comfortable. The food tasty and beautifully presented thanks to Peter and Christopher. The setting was quaint and beautiful with the rooms surrounding the pool. The ziplining, nature walks, dawn and evening cruises in the long boat were beyond our expectations. Our guide, Anthony was a fantastic host. Thoughtful, knowledgeable, and A fun loving spirit, he put us and the other guests at easy and made us feel welcomed, cared for and at home. |We had a wonderful three days and wish it was longer.

My wife and I just finished a 3 day, 2 night stay at this hotel called Avatar Amazon Lodge Canopy Park.|I’ve experienced jungle hotels before in other countries in the past 30 years. This hotel is among the best value out there.|To begin, it’s run by a very friendly husband and wife . They speak English and Spanish fairly well. |It takes about a 3 hour venture after arriving into the city of Iquitos by airport to get to the jungle hotel. Taxi to a 3 wheel tuk tuk then a boat ride along the Amazon River to the hotel. |The transfers were all taken care of from the moment we got out of the airport. DO choose to have them pick you up and drop you off. It would be quite difficult otherwise.||The bungalows are decent with en suite bathroom and shower, though no hot water unless you catch it at the right time. Actually it wasn’t that cold either. It’s the jungle - hot, humid and wet. Don’t expect anything less. Electricity is on from 7pm to 11pm so charge all your phones and power banks during that time. |From 8am to midnight, there IS wifi. Just no data until 7pm.||The beds have mosquito netting to keep insects out. Again, a beetle or insect may get in, but overall if you keep things in order, there’s very little critters in the rooms. Expect to sweat most of the time. Again you’re in a real jungle. They do have a refreshing pool that’s not cold. A bit small but good for relaxing.||The food was excellent and with large portions. I ordered vegan and it was great each day. You won’t be disappointed. ||They also have the “Canopy” which is a highlight for sure. It’s a series of zip lines, balancing on boards across high wires and a giant swing at the end. At one point you’ll be about 10 stories above the ground! It’s terrifying at first, but you’ll be accompanied by two guys who take care of most everything and you’ll also be harnessed up and connected to a safety line with TWO cables. |No one will fault you if you don’t do it. You can check it out first and then decide. A heck of an experience it is! ||Also, each day we had a guide. Our guide, Alisson, was as good as they get. He was born in a small village downstream many hours away. Seemed to know everything about the jungle and its inhabitants. His English was more than adequate and has a great personality. Overall, VERY accommodating and always available.|He’s a walking encyclopedia of the people and animals in the Amazon jungle! |Couldn’t have asked for a better guide!
