Avaton Luxury Beach Resort - Relais & Châteaux

The location is great and this is the selling point of this hotel. You are indeed very close to the sea, but from our villa we could only see the sea from the master bedroom’s tiny window. There isn’t a toilet on the ground floor. The “pool” is very tiny. Furnishings however are very nice and cleaning service was really good. Breakfast was 30 euro per person- atrocious for Greece. Restaurant overall is very expensive and if you ask for wine recommendations, they would try to sell you some of the more expensive wines. Service in the restaurant was excellent. Food was nicely presented and tasted good. “Kids club” is awful- it’s a glass box room. Always dirty, full of sand, with nothing to do, when the lady was there to look after them, it would cost you 30euro, even when the kids were there just for a little bit. Beach service was good. Overall, I would say, that it’s just too expensive for what it is

Our experience at Avaton as a family of four was excellent. The resort is calm, peaceful, the rooms and amenities are well-appointed, the restaurant cabins are a beautiful setting, and the beach is extremely enjoyable with kids - all qualities that would already provide a very good experience. But the Avaton team really stood for the excellence of service, and the fantastic quality and variety of food. We enjoyed every interaction we had with members of the team, irrespective of rank or function. As a family, we felt very well cared for, and we liked very much that Avaton provides a luxury experience while being very welcoming to children. As for the food - the breakfast buffet is simply the best we've ever seen in Greece or elsewhere, and the half-board offer is very good value for the quality and refinement of the food proposed.

I totally forgot to write about this magical place, like many places that I’ve visited. |But I remembered this year this beautiful hotel we stayed in last year for my husband’s birthday.|We should have been back and made a wrong decision to visit another part of Greece this time.|First I would say I wanted to put 5 stars ⭐️ but some details that in my opinion needed to be improved made me change my mind. |First of all there is no spa and no swimming pool, even though you have so much space to do an amazing pool. |Second I think that the rooms are not really a 5 stars standard, a little bit « cold » in my honest opinion.|The great thing about this place is the beach and the very relaxing atmosphere. |Food is also a good point, very tasty, fresh and everyday different. |I would just advise you to make a little cake for people who are celebrating their birthdays, it’s more festive this way and doesn’t cost much. |All over I would totally come and and recommend to anyone who wants a relaxing and carefree holiday!

Hello, this is quite a nice structure for those who love quietness and a large sandy beach. However, this is not a 5-star hotel as advertised on Booking.com, and most importantly, it is not kid-friendly if you are traveling with a stroller.||The property has countless stairs, and the only way to reach the beach is via a car road without any pedestrian path. There is no proper Spa (only some small beach cabanas), and the so-called kids’ club is just a very tiny glass pod on the beach. There is no common pool, and with no alternative restaurants nearby, the hotel takes advantage of this by keeping both bar and restaurant services extremely expensive.||I travel to Greece every summer, and nowhere have I encountered prices like these. So, be careful when planning your lunches and dinners here!||P.S. To the cleaning staff: 5-star service, you are amazing!|To the manager/owner: please consider replacing the mattresses — it’s really time to throw them away.

Fantastic Family Stay with Private Pool! Stayed at Avaton Hotel for a few days with my wife and daughter. Absolutely excellent! The highlight was having our own private pool in the room – fantastic atmosphere. The food was perfect, both breakfast and other meals. Service was top-notch too. We recommend it 100%!

This is a place of relaxation. Good food, good atmosphere, clean and spacious rooms. Some rooms (ground level ones) have a pool, but it is very small, I did not see people spending time in those pools. But the sea is close, 2 minutes walk and on the private beach is plenty of room for everyone. I took half board option, but it is not everything included; dinner is a la carte and if you want extra, then you have to pay. Other places offer some souvenir at the checkout, smith like a local product; not here 😔. But you can find honey, olive oil, olives and so, in the cities nearby.

Updated after hotel responded/emailed me: They insisted someone from our family still come during those dates even though the mourning period is 40 days in our culture, and we notified them that. They are also now threatening legal action against me for my honest review and demanding the full payment of the stay (not just the forfeiture of the deposit, the WHOLE stay payment, even though I canceled the reservation). I thought I would end this nightmare communication with forfeiture of the deposit, but Avaton monster is looking to profit the full cost of the stay without providing any services which is against both Greek and EU law. 0 stars! Two extremely different experiences - stayed here last year and had a magical stay with my husband through booking.com. Per resort suggestion, we Made a reservation for this year to return with both our parents directly with Avaton. My husbands mom passed away so we couldn’t attend that close to her passing. They said to send the death certificate to process refund. We did. And then they refused to return the deposit, or to keep it as a credit, or allow us to change the dates, or to have a shorter stay, or any other of the 5 different suggestions we made to try and meet in the middle. Instead they insisted on their robotic inhumane management & policies & refused to meet in any way in the middle. In fact, they suggested we add a room in the conversation, still looking to make more money when we were at our lowest point. They described how good it would be to change our scenery during this time…sure, but 7 days after your parent passes is not that time for us as humans with a heart & many responsibilities to organize following that death. Clearly missing the point of our situation. Truly went from best place we ever went to, to the most disturbing experience with customer service. $1700 deposit gone to a business, don’t know how people sleep at night when they make these decisions. Good companies are successful, and great companies remain successful.

It’s the kind of place where you can truly disconnect and relax like nowhere else. The hotel, the staff – everything is top-class. And the food… absolutely incredible. Not just the amuse-bouche (which was a perfect 10/10 every evening), but every single dish we tried was exceptional. Beautifully presented, full of flavor, and clearly crafted with passion – it honestly felt like fine dining with every meal. We’ve traveled to many places, but here, food is elevated to an art form.
