It's a 20-year-old stadium that is already a bit run-down but that wouldn't matter if you could actually access it easily. The problem is that the stadium is off a motorway 6.5km from Aveiro city centre and there is NO PUBLIC TRANSPORT, which is insane for a 30,000-capacity venue. Your only options are to drive and abandon your car/get a taxi to the edge of the motorway then walk across the road in front of traffic. Booked a taxi (online, there isn't even a rank) at the recent Portugal-Ireland game, 20 minutes before full-time, and they couldn't get near the stadium. Had to scramble down a hill, walk back across the motorway and then a nearly two-hour walk back to the station while trying to order cabs. It's a disgrace that the Portuguese Football Federation, or anyone else, is hosting major games in this stadium while there are no buses provided from Aveiro.
