Despite it's locality, the environment is calm, friendly and welcoming. I kept extending my stay as my being here helped me relax after weeks of town/city hopping across Portugal. All the people who help keep this hostel in top shape have been friendly and inviting throughout. The breakfast is superb, with lots of choice and every day there is homemade cake, pastries and fruit for us guests. I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would recommend to any traveller passing through...stay a little while longer... enjoy what Aveiro and it's people have to offer.

Very nice hostel in an old house, it is so pretty ! The staff is amazing, the breakfast is included and good, there are lockers in the room for your things, we had a really nice stay there ! It is well located, close to the main street and at a walking distance from shops, restaurants, bus stops and water canals. Downsides : it lacks insonorisation since it’s an old house, and in our room there were no hooks/hangers to hang the things that need to dry.

The communal areas of the hostel - kitchen, dining, living room and outdoor area are all great and it was very calm and relaxing. Breakfast was included and it was great. Staff also friendly and helpful. However the dorm rooms and bathrooms were not great. They crammed 8 single beds into a room on the top floor that had a creaking door, squeaky lockers and you shared one bathroom with another room of three people. My locker unfortunately opened onto another girl’s head when she was sleeping. You can use the downstairs bathrooms but no one explained this on check in. The room also smelled really funky even though we kept the window wide open! So I wanted a calm relaxing place but unfortunately didn’t sleep well at all.

I recently stayed at this hostel, and regrettably, the experience was far from satisfactory. The beds on the upper floor were so low-ceilinged that I constantly hit my head. The building showed signs of age, and although renovated, I was dismayed to find bedbugs in my bed. When I was filling my complaint letter to the staff the next day, they assured me that the room had been quarantined. However, a friend of mine, who stayed in the very room they claimed was isolated, contradicted this by revealing he remained there and even woke up with bug bites... On a positive note, the breakfast was decent, and its central location is undeniably a perk. While the rates are budget-friendly, one should be aware and brace for the potential drawbacks.

I stayed for 6 days. I am satisfied overall. Breakfast is buffet and quite good but it gets repetitive quickly if you are staying for as long as I was because there is not as much variety. I miss for example such a simple thing as olive oil. On the other hand you can always make your own meals in the kitchen. My locker was a bit difficult to lock sometimes because the key got stuck and it unscrews inside. There are many plugs behind the lockers, which is also quite inconvenient. The bathroom needs more towel hangers, and if you do not bring a towel you have to pay to get one. The place is beautiful and well placed in a tourist place
