Hotel Avenida Palace

"So, can you tell us a little about this place? This opulent Chiado hotel dates to 1892. Rich colors and textures greet guests from the moment they enter the lobby, where black-and-white tiles play off tufted red velvet seating. The deeper into the hotel you go, the more pampered you’ll feel. Ooh—sounds fancy. Who's staying here?Well-heeled travelers love this hotel, which has developed a loyal stable of regulars. It’s the kind of place where people pack a wardrobe that blends with the decor—you know they take their vacations seriously. Yup, we know those people. How was check in, and the service in general? With a five-star hotel comes five-star service. The hospitality here is top-notch, with professional staff seamlessly guiding guests through the check-in process and the rest of their stay. Perfect. Now, onto the good stuff: Tell us about the digs.Rooms falls in line with the rest of the hotel’s neoclassical architecture and sophisticated décor. The 270 Suite comes with views of Praça dos Restauradores and Avenida da Liberdade, and the Presidential Suite has a king bed and plenty of room. We love a good view. Now, how about the little things, like the mini bar, or the shower goodies? What makes a stay here more comfortable? The 82 rooms and suites are filled with thoughtful amenities that strike a balance between home and vacation, like plush bedding, espresso machines, soaking tubs, and well-stocked minibars. There's nothing like a good soaking tub. What's the F&B situation? An intimate bar lined with mahogany offers a mellow spot for a pre-dinner drink or nightcap. Excellent—thanks for the tip. Any other services or features you'd like to shout out?Be sure to ask about live music—the low-key performances are the perfect way to kick off an evening. Will do! So, bottom line: What's the main draw of this place? This hotel offers posh luxury in an intimate setting." - Jenna Scatena

What a stunning hotel! The public gathering areas were welcoming and elegant. The bar area was warm and intimate. Our room was everything we needed. This hotel is in a great location - it is next to the Rossio train station (so convenient for our day trip to Sintra) and a metro stop. We walked to shops and restaurants and literally everywhere! The hotel offered free entertainment every evening from 7-8 pm which was a nice way to relax before dinner. Breakfast was truly amazing - everything on the buffet was freshly prepared. The service at breakfast was very attentive but never intrusive. We booked directly with the hotel and they offered us 20% off food in the bar for doing so. This was unexpected. Every day a small gift was left in the room. Overall, we felt very pampered.

My wife and I stayed here for four nights in June and it was teriffic place to stay. Centrally located, next to the train station and nestled in between the Bairro Alto and Principe Real neighborhoods to the west, and the Moorish Quarter and Alfama neighborhoods to the east, and a short walk in all directions to places you will likely have on your agendas for Lisbon. (Take note, these neighborhoods are quite uphill from the hotel!) ||The hotel has that "old-world" look and feel. Check-in and concierge very helpful. Very nice lobby bar with live piano playing in the adjacent room at 7pm. ||Rooms were on the smaller end, as was the bathroom, but not an issue. Air conditioning was cranking. Rooms were pretty quiet, but with the elevator very close to our room, it was a little noisy in the morning....I would suggest you request a room NOT near the elevator. Treats were delivered to our room at turndown which was nice. This included a sun hat and hand fan for when the temperature outside began to rise. Nice touch. I did occasionally hear/feel the trains coming into the adjacent station but it really was not an issue. My wife never felt or heard them.||Breakfast was pretty spectacular, with ANYTHING you might want for breakfast. Fruits and pastries were all very fresh.||Overall, I'd definitely recommend this hotel for a romantic stay.

The most stunning hotel we have ever been in. We stayed 14 July to 19 July 2025. The decor was old time victorian. It was beautiful. Waiters in tuxedos, concierges who were outstanding. Each empolyee with whom we had contact was friendly, professional and extremely helpful. We could not have been more pleased. The included breakfast was outstanding, a buffet served in a high ceiling room with outstanding beauty.

We had an amazing stay at the Avenida Palace hotel. All the staff were very helpful and so welcoming. The breakfast had so much choice and was beautifully presented and was all well cooked. The lady on reception organised a room for us due to a late flight so we were able to have a shower and leave our cases. Perfect stay and great location. Thank you for a great city break in your beautiful city!

Wonderful stay at Avenida Palace Hotel! Family and I had an excellent stay at this hotel in Lisbon. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and well maintained. One of the highlights was the breakfast: a delicious and generous spread with plenty of options to start the day right. Loved the various options on the juices and sweets, etc. The location is very centric to most important areas, plus restaurants and stores, making it easy to explore the city. The Metro was next door. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for comfort, cleanliness, location, and great service in Lisbon. Has a very nice Portuguese 18th century look to it. You cannot go wrong with this Hotel!!!

Google
Stayed 5 nights, steps from Rossio and Restradores squares, both with buses, Metro, trains at Rossio, next to a Starbucks, close to a small grocery store, 5min to a McDonalds. We booked direct on the hotel website. The hotel: excellent breakfast (&staff), excellent housekeeping. Rooms very quiet, stocked with a water daily, minifridge, coffeemaker. Plenty of outlets, plenty of light. Very good WiFi. Nightly piano music. 7-8pm, the afternoon tea had been suspended for the summer. Had a dinner at their ‘bar’, extensive menu, very reasonably priced. The location: we bought a Navagente card from the hotel Concierge for one day of unlimited travel, but then switched to using Visa CC contactless on all buses. The Restradores Metro elevator was out of service, so we didn’t use the Metro. The sidewalks are tiled very unevenly, so watch your step. Local restaurants were quite touristy (menu with large pics of food). The El Paso Mexican restaurant was probably our best meal. The local buses were very unreliable, partly due to local events, and we had to use Uber three times to get around. What we did and saw; - St Jorge Castle - Harbor cruise (not great, just a big circle to Belém and back) - Tile Museum (should have brought ear buds and downloaded the audio guide first) - Cascais, their Wonderful city museum, lunch at Manujo de Linha restaurant. - Banksy Museum (Great!), Modern Art Museum (a little too edgy for us, but very nice cafe for lunch) - Festis Lisboa Parade, watched from hotel window!

This hotel has aesthetics similar to the Versailles, and it literally looked like a palace so I had to look it up — it apparently is a historical structure which was a hub for royalty and diplomats at some point. Needless to say, the interior was magnificent. The breakfast spread was amazing. On my last day there were different kinds of chocolate cake at the buffet table for “International Cake Day”. All the staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel is in a very convenient location. I mostly walked and used scooters from the hotel (scooters are parked steps away from the hotel). It’s right next to a train station, and if you absolutely need a taxi, there’s a line of them just steps away. The entrance to the hotel is a bit hidden— it is facing the Starbucks next door.

This hotel is right next to Rossio station, so handy for everywhere in Lisbon and Sintra. But the sheer joy if it is that it is quiet, beautifully decorated, with a large air-conditioned room overlooking Restauradores Square, with everything you need.||They gave us small gifts most days - like a fan, a sun hat, pastel de nata cakes, which were much appreciated, as were the small turn down chocolate bars.||The bar lounge was huge and mostly empty when we stopped for a drink - I think the prices were so high there that only a few hotel guests would bother to use it, but it was relaxing and enjoyable (we never made the 7.00 pm music there as that was when we went out for dinner).||The breakfast was to die for - everything you could possibly want. I would absolutely stay there again if I returned to Lisbon.

Yelp
This is a luxury high class hotel located in the center of town. Near Rossio train station. Walking distance from center of town and shopping. Elegant old world charm, the entrance is hard to find at at first. I love the included breakfast! Fresh fruits baked goods, juices, and mimosa of course excellent coffee, and excellent service. I felt pampered. It's too bad we were out touring and didn't spend much time in our room but it was gorgeous and spacious. I got a suite bc it was my sister's birthday. Only the best for her. We were on the fourth floor and the view was amazing. I cried. It was so beautiful. My eyes were spoiled. I was hesitant to write this place because it will become popular and the prices will go up up up? It's well worth it. Yolo! We went on an off-season, so the prices were good.

Yelp
Great location, unbelievable breakfast buffet. The service was excellent, everyone was helpful, clean room, turn down service. Every day we had a new treat or helpful gift (chocolates, pastry, rain hats, glass of port, and daily complimentary bottled water). Would highly recommend the hotel

Yelp
Charming, old-school, centrally located Lisbon hotel. This hotel is right next to the Rossio train station, which you will find extraordinarily convenient unless you plan to Uber everywhere. Loved the hotel bar and nightly pianist. Reasonably priced. Service is lovely. Only complaint would be the beds. They are a little firm for my liking. Otherwise, I think this hotel makes a great choice for those coming to Lisbon.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here recently for the second time in 5 years, and enjoyed it very much. Hotel Avenida Palace is elegant, yet comfortable. I love the decor throughout the hotel. The rooms are comfortable and quiet, even though this hotel is in a busy part of Lisbon. The breakfast buffet and dining room that it is served in are 5 star. The sitting room with the piano is classy as well. We appreciated the treats delivered to us in the afternoon and evening. The only things I would improve would be to increase the shower temperature, and develop the concierge service (he only recommends one restaurant by name). I would stay here again without hesitation.

Yelp
I cannot say enough about how wonderful this hotel is! It is beautiful, elegant l and well run. The rooms are spacious and lovely, the breakfast was delicious and the service fantastic. It was my husband's birthday, which believe it or not, he and I both forgot about until one of the servers came to our breakfast table with this delicious layered crepe with a candle in it. When we came back to our room that evening, there was a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries, and if that wasn't enough, they gave him a lovely leather tray on the night we checked out. If I ever return to Lisbon, I would absolutely stay here again!

Yelp
5 Star Hotel that deserves a 5+ Star Yelp rating! Felt like a princess in this beautiful 125 year old magnificent palace! The staff were incredible from reception (thank you Malcom for directing us and for your great recommendations for visiting Lisbon)and such a welcoming reception check in staff, to the gracious and ever accommodating grand ballroom breakfast servers! Service and food was over the top delicious with so many choices of delectable freshly made items like poached eggs on toast, smoked salmon, meats and cheeses galore, fresh fruits, every type of pastry imaginable (even the Lisbon/Belém famous Pasties custard cups!), just to name a few items. While you are there be sure to visit the iconic Bar next to lobby with a Mixologist who prides himself on each drink creation to your liking. Ambience in this great room is etched in my memory! Classic decor that takes you back in time! Upon our arrival because we were celebrating a monumental wedding anniversary, the hotel had waiting for us in our beautiful 'standard' superb room, a bottle of sparking wine with delicious chocolate strawberries! Made us feel even more special! Our room was divine with gorgeous drapes that hung down from the ceiling framing a large floor to ceiling double windows that insulated any outside street noise while sleeping. Our window looked out to a view of a castle close by and a Fort that was at the top of a hill that was erected in 1137! Just a little history here! Also beautiful double wood headboards framed our large comfortable king bed with the finest bedding imaginable! Bathroom and shower/tub were a perfect size to relax and soak in comfort from our long days of discovering Lisbon. Great amenities too! Thank you all at the Hotel Avenida Palace for making our last two nights in Lisbon so great and memorable! Great location and central to everything to discover Lisbon!

Yelp
I stayed at Avenida Palace November 10, 2021 to November 14, 2021. While I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Lisbon, I am disappointed to write a less-than-stellar review for Avenida Palace despite all of the positive reviews that led me to book my stay in the first place. Unfortunately, a single incident soured my stay enough that I feel compelled to share the awful customer experience that I received. On the early morning of November 12, 2021, I was returning back to Avenida Palace via cab to find that the front doors had been locked. I knocked on the glass and a security guard welcomed myself and two friends who were also staying at the hotel. We walked through the lobby towards the elevator when we heard the security guard say, "the cab driver would like to speak to you." Clearly upset, the cab driver lunged towards my friends and I, using his foot to prevent the elevator that we were in to close. He claimed that we had left his cab dirty and scoffed that "this wasn't America where we could do that." As a group of New Yorkers, we are very familiar with cab etiquette and did not, in fact, leave his cab unclean. Ultimately, the cab driver grabbed me by the arm, dragging me back outside of the hotel, and threw cleaning wipes at me, demanding that I clean his car. Terrified of what would happen if I didn't, I spent 10 minutes wiping down the entirety of his car. The hotel security guard did absolutely nothing to keep me safe, and even held the door open for the cab driver as he physically pulled me out of the hotel. Visibly shaken, I returned to my room that night. Later that morning, my friends and I went to the front desk and asked to speak to the General Manager but found out that he wasn't there. Instead, we spoke to Pedro, the Front Desk Manager. When we explained what happened earlier that morning and asked if there was something he could do about it, he said he would look into it. We heard nothing more from him. On our last day on November 14, we asked to speak with the Executive Manager (Manuel) who was in that day. After re-explaining the situation, he said that he had heard from the Assistant Manager despite him not reaching out to us to follow up. Manuel was very accusatory, asking me if I had done something to the cab driver to cause him to be so upset and why I hadn't recorded his license number. He also asked me why I explicitly didn't ask for help. I explained that I was in a state of shock when I was physically dragged by a cab driver who should've never been allowed into the hotel lobby to begin with. Manuel said that there was nothing he could and - quite concerningly - let us know that security cameras outside the building were coincidentally out of service so he couldn't view any footage. For a 5-star hotel with very positive reviews, I was shocked by the whole experience. Shocked that the cab driver was allowed into the lobby to berate me, shocked that the hotel security did not protect me when a cab driver was physically grabbing me, and shocked that the General Manager did nothing to set the situation right (I wasn't even offered a free cocktail at the bar, let alone the comped night that I rightfully deserved). I would absolutely not recommend Hotel Avenida as I did not feel safe during my time there and felt let down from a customer service standpoint. I sure hope that Pedro and his team do better in the future.

Yelp
The hotel is a classy old school with doorman, very attentive and very helpful staff. The breakfast is superb and rooms are well equipped and very clean. We stayed at top boutique and trendy hotels in Lisbon and this hotel is as good or better. There are live concerts almost every night for patrons. We are looking forward staying there during our next trip to Lisbon.

Yelp
My friends and I always stay at the Avenida Palace when we are in Lisbon. The hotel is filled with old world charm and the staff takes care of our every request. And the location couldn't be more convenient. Other reviewers have mentioned the wonderful breakfast and we certainly concur. This April, we spent nine days there and learned from the staff that the family that owns the hotel paid all of the employees their full salaries during the pandemic. We were so happy to learn that the owners are so caring. We look forward to staying there again and again!

Yelp
One of the best hotel stays we've ever experienced, Avenida is a welcoming oasis located in the heart of the old city (I should write travel brochures). Seriously, an excellent hotel in a great location. Room was very nice: quiet, well appointed, comfy bed, very clean, and the a/c worked like a champ!! The staff were professional and friendly, and they all appeared interested in the well-being of their customers--all-around superb service. Were every hotel experience this good . . . Cheers! RS

Yelp
You can't beat the location of this historic hotel. The common spaces were beautiful and invited lingering. We had at least one cocktail in the charming bar area every day. The staff were lovely. The concierges put up with our endless questions with aplomb. We stayed in a junior suite. We appreciated the room because one or the other of us seemed to sleep poorly and need to get out of bed early- having nothing to do with the hotel itself. I loved the historic charm of the hotel rooms, but ours was a bit tired. The bed was also a bit hard. The breakfast room was beautiful and the selection of foods and service were great. I will never get tired of Portuguese bread. The hotel offered a complimentary feature that was a near miss. Our room had a smartphone that allowed us 30 minutes of calling per day, along with data and access to Uber and a map app. Unfortunately, it was pokey and didn't work reliably. If it worked the way that it should have, it would have been awesome. We had a split decision on this hotel. This is the kind of place that I like to stay in when traveling in Europe. It has history and charm and was modern enough for me to be happy. My wife would have preferred something a bit more up to date. She agreed that the location was awesome.

Yelp
We had the most amazing trip to Lisbon! I decided to add Lisbon as a stop to my trip to Madrid and shopped around for hotels. The original hotel I booked was close to this one but the reviews said it was a little noisy right in front of the hotel so I shopped around some more and found Avenida Palace and I am so glad I did. Check in was easy and pleasant, the lobby has a gorgeous chandelier, the room was clean and very nicely decorated. They lend you a smart phone to carry around with you for getting directions, calls, etc.... this is brilliant! We came back to the room and found the hotel had left us strawberries as an afternoon snack and they left chocolate at bed time. I love those small touches! The next day it was supposed to rain and when we came back from breakfast, the hotel had left a nice note and a cute black rain hat and bag on the end of the beds. These were such nice little surprises it help make the trip amazing! The breakfast at the hotel was excellent and a wonderful variety. I will definitely go back

Yelp
We just got back home from our family trip to Lisbon and Spain. Hotel Avenida Palace is located close to many attractions. Everyone at the hotel from the bell boys to the concierge service were exceptional. Very courteous and helpful with questions. They helped us arrange a trip to Cintra which was great! The rooms are very nice and clean. We had asked for 2 rooms connecting since we were traveling with kids which they helped us with. The breakfast at the hotel was excellent as well. We also enjoyed the bar. The selection was great and the bartender was very attentive to our needs. Totally recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again on our next trip!

Yelp
My first impression of this hotel was not very good as it looked dated and painted over. The room was also a little bit small, especially for the price. The bed was pretty tiny and my friend and I are not very big people. However the mattress topper on the bed made a huge difference as the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom actually felt more spacious than the bedroom. The water pressure was very good, but the bathtub drained a little bit sluggishly. The toilet was also starting to become disconnected from the floor, but I forgot to notify the front desk to fix it. I saw some other reviews raving about the service at this hotel. I didn't think it was particularly good. There were very few friendly smiles as we came in and out of the hotel. They did answer our questions whenever we had any. The nicest person was the man at the luggage hold counter. When we came back to pick up our luggage and we asked for water and he was kind enough to give us two bottles. Breakfast was included. The croissants were very good but the egg custard was dry. I also liked the quiche. The bacon was also good but the scrambled eggs were runny. They were fresh crepes which I did not try. My favorite part was all of the fresh fruit including persimmon, papaya, honeydew melon, and a mixed fruit salad. They also had fresh orange juice and coffee and tea. My friend asked for soy milk for her coffee and they brought steamed soy milk which was very nice. The location of this hotel is great. Right next door is a Starbucks that is open late. Next to that is the main train station where you can take a train to Sintra. The train runs every 30 minutes to Sintra. Around the corner from the hotel is the bus stop for the hop on hop off tour bus. We bought our tickets for the Lisbon tour bus at the hotel. We didn't realize that there is more than one tour company and we noticed that the other company- City Sightseeing had way more buses, probably two to every one of ours. I don't think the tour bus is even necessary because most of the sites are accessible by public transportation and you would not have to wait for the bus. The tour bus was €20 per person. The hotel is also within walking distance of a lot of restaurants and shopping areas. I would consider staying here again for the convenience though it is more expensive than some of the other hotels nearby.

Yelp
I LOVE THIS HOTEL!!!!! I have done quite a bit of travelling in my time but never have I enjoyed my stay at a hotel so much. From day 1 they treated us like royalty! When we booked we qualified for a welcome basket with champagne but we did not have the print out, just a screen shot and they honored it. Not only did they honor it but later that week they sent us ANOTHER chilled champagne, fruit and dessert platter. Our agent booked us a jr suite which was massive! It was so nice that my husband kept saying "Are you sure we paid for this?" hahaha. Each night at this hotel when our suite was made up we had a new gift ranging from a tote bag for shopping to free drinks at the hotel bar. I loved coming back to our suite to see what new treat we got. Our housekeeper was such a gem and did a great job making us feel at home. The staff was incredible and always ready to help us out with making car arrangements, deciding where to go sight seeing, etc. The hotel was a palace through and through. It is such a beautiful place to stay; so immaculate. Not only did it look amazing but the breakfast was insanely good! They have everything! Belem pastries, poached eggs, fried eggs, smoked salmon, Iberian ham, sliced deli style roast beef, fruit platters, yogurt, cereal, mimosas..the list goes on and on! There is something for everyone! The next time that we come to Lisbon we will be staying here again. We loved the week spent here and wish we could have stayed forever!

Yelp
This place is great. The location is unbeatable - next door to the Rossio Train Station (Sintra trip) and the Restauradores Metro. It's a very quick walk to Rua Augusta and near tons of restaurants. The hotel was built in the late 1800s and I found the hotel quite regal. The lobby and sitting area were beautiful (yes I know super picky people will make fun of the plastic flowers/plants, but the hotel is still beautiful). I found the rooms to be very tidy with very comfortable beds. The original windows are intact but they also have newer double paned windows that cut street noise to a dull sound. The rooms were very clean and although the bathroom was small, it was very European efficient. The breakfast they provide is terrific. They have a large variety of charcuterie, pastries, fresh fruit, cereal, crepes, eggs and veggies. Their free wi-fi worked flawlessly in my room. I would agree that service is not necessarily friendly, but they were polite and helpful when we asked for help. But I found this place to be great. When I come back to Lisbon, I will most certainly stay here.

Yelp
Elegant hotel. Perfect location. Walking distance to most of the centre of town. Convenient to shopping and transportation. Attentive and great service. Beautiful rooms decorated in a more traditional, elegant manner; well appointed decor. Bathrooms are clean, well supplied with amenities including bath robes and slippers. Nice touch with welcome bowl of grapes, and a little token thank you of gourmet chocolate. They have a sumptuous breakfast buffet located in an elegant dining room. Service is great. Staff are very helpful. Concierge was a big help in assisting us to get transpo to our different destinations.

Yelp
We LOVED this hotel and I can't recommend it enough. From the location to the service to the rooms to the food, everything was 10/10. I'll start with location. The hotel is very central and walkable to many of the important things you'll want to see and do in Lisbon. It's about a 20 minute drive from the airport located near the Bairro Alto/Chiado districts of Lisbon. It's directly next door to the Rossio train station that goes to Sintra and a 1 minute walk from the Hard Rock Café and Restauradores square which is where many of the tour companies begin their tours. Next, the service. Simply put, the service was phenomenal. We landed early in the morning and check in wasn't until the afternoon. We were desperate to shower and unload our luggage and the receptionist pulled all of the strings to find us an available room AND a free upgrade to a suite. Amazing! Our room was clean, beautiful and welcoming. We had a fancy sitting room with a writing desk, comfy couch and TV in addition to our bedroom... so plenty of room to spread out. Another moment where the service absolutely went above and beyond was with the concierge. We ate at Bairro de Avillez Pateo on the 2nd night and loved it (I'll get into that in a moment) but we were super interested in trying the elusive Beco cabaret restaurant. Beco books out weeks in advance and there is only one seating per night so when we asked the waitress at Pateo she didn't have much hope for us. We decided to see if the concierge at Avenida could pull any strings and sure enough after a long phone call he scored us tickets for THAT NIGHT (A Saturday none the less!) with amazing seats in a packed out room. Incredible. Finally, my FAVORITE part of the whole experience... the FOOD. Two of my biggest weaknesses when traveling are 1. Airport bookstores and 2. BUFFET BREAKFASTS. I think the breakfast at Avenida Palace definitely made top 3 best hotel breakfasts of all time. There was fresh fruit, berries, pancakes, poached eggs, green juice, smoothies, pastries and Nutella... so basically all of my favorite foods. All in all, would 100000% recommend and stay again!

D. L.

Yelp
What a treat! They got the name right - it is a palatial experience in a great location, and the price was low. Everyone was helpful and had friendly attitudes. We really enjoyed the breakfasts. We loved the location. It was busy, but quiet. We walked to the Moorish fort, the water, and loads a great restaurants. We also rented a car, but preferred not to use it. When destinations were too far, the concierge advised us to take taxis - about the same price as the public transportation for our party of 4 and much faster. Hotel provided free parking. Being there near Christmas, they had musical events every night in the salon. Elegant, fashionable, friendly and reasonably priced.

Yelp
Great hotel and wonderful service. The furnishings are so regal and the location of the hotel is perfect for sightseeing in the area. The bar is classy and elegant without being too stuffy. The gym is minimal, but hey who needs to work out on vacation? Delicious italian restaurant Da Vinci across the street and close to the metro. Only about 15Euro to get there by taxi to the airport. Definitely recommended if you want a central hotel in Lisbon.

Steve G.

Yelp
If other hotel companies want to train their managers in the proper way to run a hotel, they only need to have their staff spend some time at the Aveneida Palace Hotel in Lisbon, Portugal. This hotel does it right in every way and provides some of the best service I have ever experienced at any hotel, anywhere in the world. To start with, the hotel could not be in a better location. We ended up turning in our rental car and not bothering with it until we left town because the location is so central that it was not necessary to have. Next, the property itself is a wonderfully restored historic building that celebrates the past but still has enough modern amenities to be comfortable. Finally, the service and the amenities offered for a hotel of this size are beyond comparison. The attentiveness of the staff and the genuine concern for the guest is always evident as a top priority. Going to Lisbon? Don't bother staying anywhere else.

S K.

Yelp
Very nice hotel. Very convenient location. Excellent included breakfast. While we were there they had a free music recital of a different sort each evening in the main large lounge. Price was extremely reasonable. I also always wondered why hotels abroad wanted your passport upon checkin. I'm still not sure, but this hotel made a copy. Turned out that they actually read it because I was there on my birthday (shown on the passport) and they were nice enough to send up a bottle of champagne!! The bar in the hotel was also quite nice. My only reservation about giving it 5 stars was the advice of the concierge that I concluded was less than great when it came to directions and restaurants. If you aren't interested in such advice, it would get a 5.
