Frustrated and Disappointed – Food Service at Our Wedding
We held our wedding reception at The Avenue Plaza Hotel on July 26, 2025, and unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience with the food service.
We paid for 100 guests, but only around 70 guests actually attended. To make sure the food didn’t go to waste, we included 19 of our suppliers (photographers, videographers, etc.) in the meal count and instructed the attendants accordingly.
Despite having fewer people than paid for, some of our guests told us there was no food left. I checked the buffet myself and confirmed it — all the food was already gone early in the program. When I asked the staff, they simply blamed the suppliers for eating too, even though they were clearly included in the final count.
This excuse was unacceptable, especially from a 4-star hotel. It was embarrassing for us as hosts and deeply frustrating to see our guests go hungry on a day that was supposed to be joyful and memorable.
I emailed management to raise this concern, but received no response. We expected better service, professionalism, and accountability. Sadly, we were left disappointed by both the experience and the lack of follow-up.
I hope other couples consider this before booking their event here.
