AVEO Table + Bar

We chose this venue to celebrate our civil wedding luncheon, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The view was breathtaking, the service impeccable, and the ambiance truly unforgettable. A special shoutout to Antonia, the events coordinator, who went above and beyond to make everything seamless. I must have sent her at least 20 emails, and she responded to each one with incredible patience and care. Thanks to her, we were able to bring our vision to life and create a beautiful, memorable event.

If you’re staying at the Waldorf this is a great option in terms of portions and quality though it costs more. My favorite from the breakfast menu was the tropical fruit bowl with a huge portion of cut fruits and berries. The pancakes and waffle were fresh and filling. The $48 weekend brunch has a good selection including an omelette bar. Lunch options are around $30 each

I had a lovely experience having dinner at Aveo earlier in July (2025). The food was great, and I was very impressed by our server Marlyn - who was just so kind & lovely. Truly a wonderful experience all around! 😊

Amazing Christmas brunch - well worth the price. Great gluten free options that were overtly notated in a good way. The staff is very attentive & personable. The food was top notch. The bartender (Jose, I think?) was incredible.

My husband and I ate at AVEO twice while we were staying at the Waldorf Astoria. We sat on the terrace both times and really enjoyed taking in the beautiful resort grounds. The food at AVEO is unique and delicious and the waitstaff was very nice. We loved the Pan al Horno which was kind of a bread charcutier board. It comes with fairly minimal items, but the bread is fantastic! We ordered it both times we went. We also ordered the Mexican Mac and Cheese which was also really good. Their mixed drinks fabulous and they also have a decent beer selection if that is more your thing. If you are staying at the Waldorf Astoria, definitely check out AVEO!

Good foods and lovely ambiance. Over a few days I tried the surf and turf, macaroni, roasted chicken, and a cauliflower dish. All were delicious I actually think the appetizers and side dishes stole the show. Service was top notch. I didn’t need reservations on either visit fyi. Never had chance to try breakfast or lunch. Not a fan of buffets in general, but place looked packed for their breakfast buffet every day I was there.

We had an amazing dinner at this beautiful restaurant with breathtaking ocean views! The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing evening. Special thanks to Alina, the hostess — she greeted us with such warmth and professionalism. Her positive energy and friendly attitude made our first impression unforgettable. I had the pleasure of enjoying a delicious breakfast here. The service was highly attentive, and they offer both à la carte and buffet options. The ambiance is relaxing, with beautiful views, and you can choose between indoor and outdoor seating for a perfect dining experience.

We had breakfast at AVEO Table + Bar, and it was absolutely delicious! The avocado toast was perfectly prepared -- fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The coffee was amazing too, rich and smooth, just the perfect start to the morning. The atmosphere is bright and relaxing, with a stunning view that makes the experience even better. Definitely one of the best breakfast spots we've tried -- we'll be coming back for sure!

Brought my Mother in Law here for her 95th Birthday. She asked for the Butternut Squash soup first, then the Greek salad. They brought the salad first, so.she waited for the soup. My wife ordered the Lobster roll with no chives, and the Ceasar salad with light dressing. They brought the Lobster roll, it had chives all over it, and the salad was swimming in a pool of dressing. I ordered the Smash Burger and fries. The burger needed seasoning (salt and pepper), but there was none on the table. They also dropped off our food and we didnt see them again for some time. I wanted condiments for the fries, but couldn't wait, so I ate them plain. All three of us were wearing dark slacks, and they gave us light-colored cloth napkins. We expect high-end restaurants to anticipate black napkins so we dont have to ask (lint on dark clothes is not something we want). We've been here 3 times before, and each time we're disappointed with the service - this will probably be our last. We're perplexed why this place always has a problem with quality service.

The ambience at Aveo is spectacular, with sweeping views all the way to the ocean. For dinner, we tried the fried calamari and Argentinian clay baked bread--both were excellent. The chive butter stood out over the honey butter. The roasted peach and strawberry salad was fresh and full of flavor. The surf and turf was cooked perfectly, though the lobster could have used a bit more seasoning. The sea bass was plated beautifully and light in flavor. For dessert, we had the hazelnut chocolate rocher, warm peach blueberry cobbler, and chocolate bananas foster sundae, but none of them really impressed--they all lacked sweetness. Service started strong but dropped off at the end, and we had to flag down the host to close out our check. For breakfast, the mocha was good, and the complimentary fruit juice shot was a nice touch. Bacon came out perfectly crispy. The Denver omelet was just okay, the pancakes were too dry, but the huevos rancheros had a great kick and were very good. Unfortunately, service was poor--our waiter disappeared after taking our order, and we had to rely on the host multiple times, though he was very apologetic. Overall, the setting is beautiful and some dishes really shine, but the service and desserts could use improvement.

For such a fancy restaurant I'm not sure what more I expected, but I do feel like the food here was not as good as the beach restaurant at the Waldorf. The food was good, but it didn't hit the mark like expected. I got the pasta and the salmon - salmon was very flavorful Waitstaff was very kind!'

We had a great dinner here on an absolutely perfect summer evening. We got a nice spot with a great view, has excellent service and loved our dishes. We started with the bread that is not to be missed! It was worth the carbs. My wife's sea bass was stellar, perfectly cooked and delicious. I had the chicken and it was delicious, as well, and HUGE! 1/2 Chicken that is enough for two. They acknowledged my birthday which was nice and dessert was equally good. Drink prices, for cocktails and wine, are nutso. Our cocktails were good, but pretty weak and just too pricey to justify. Aside from this, it was a great meal!

Was excited to go to Aveo for breakfast, but unfortunately it was underwhelming. The ambiance was nice, there was a very open floor layout and decor was classy. The food was very okay. I got the lobster omelette and unfortunately it was overcooked. The eggs were dry and the lobster was tough and chewy. Maybe I just came on a bad day. That being said, the highlight of the meal was the quick service. Everyone was extremely friendly and checked in on us a lot. Not sure if I'd choose to go back, but glad I got the experience

Excellent food with good variety and delicious flavor. The entire building has great ambiance, and our waiter was friendly and attentive.

We are staying at the Waldorf so we're able to just walk to the restaurant, they have amazing indoor and outdoor seating! We chose inside due to our baby. We ordered food and it took a while to order, however food came out relatively quick! They even gave us complimentary juice and a fruit arrangement for our daughter's first birthday! It is a nicer establishment with heat lamps outside with beautiful tiles. Inside is a fun little mix of bar to one side and then booth and table seating throughout the space. I would recommend breakfast here for sure! Can't wait to try dinner here one of the days!

Great service from waiter staff and kitchen even made the lobster rolls for us! (Wasn't on the menu that day). Also valet parking guys are awesome. They let me park my lambo out front. All around great experience! Congrats on a well run company

Beautiful beautiful restaurant !! Located in the Waldorf Astoria. We were staying here and we wanted to try them for lunch. I love the ambience, they have indoor and outdoor patio seating. The outdoor seating is just gorgeous, you can literally see the ocean from here. The service was fantastic, our server was so attentive, helpful and offered some suggestions of the menu and all of our dishes were fantastic. The chicken tortilla soup was good and the watermelon salad was so refreshing. The flavors of the buratta, the heirloom tomatoes, the watermelon, cucumbers was just a flavor burst in my mouth. I loved every bite. The peruvian stir fry was another great dish, I wish they had chicken but it was a good portion. I also enjoyed the plantain chips with the aioli on the side. Super expensive but that's what you get when you eat at a place like this. You are paying for the high quality food, the view and overall we enjoyed it. We would definitely come back and next time probably do a Sunday brunch.

Dinning at the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort. AVEO Table Bar Mediterranean restaurant. Amazing restaurant with amazing views. French toast was amazing. Lobster omelette was incredible. The food was top notch. The customer service was fantastic. The mimosas were very good. We enjoyed every bite of food. I wish I had more room to try other dishes.

We had dinner last night here and am currently here now for lunch. Both times our orders for a party of 7 has been delayed by an hour, at least. I know stuff happens but for simple Meals that cost 5x-10x the normal amount. What am I paying for !!?

My family and I stay here at least 3 times a year and we're still so disappointed in the food selection and quality at Aveo and the pool. I wish they would up their game especially since they have such a wonderful dinner restaurant like Bourbon Steak. Why not elevate Aveo and the pool food? I hope they change something soon. :-)

This place is absolutely beautiful! Highly recommend stopping by, even if you are not staying on the property. The restaurant has an indoor and outdoor portion and full bar. It overlooks the pool, the garden and the water The service is great and the staff is friendly. They even brought out free smoothie samples and a apricot croissant for us on the house. I have tried both dinner and brunch here. The portions are not large here, but they have your classic American breakfast options and a diverse menu for dinner

Our server was amazing! I'm sad I forgot her name. We made a reservation for 6:45 PM and they seated us promptly. We sat outside to enjoy the atmosphere and watch the sunset-- it was a little chilly and they had heated lamps and blankets to make our dining experience as comfortable as can be. We tried an assortment of appetizers and main dishes and each dish was delicious! My boyfriend and I's favorite dish by far is the Saffron Rice. Everything was sooo flavorful! And the scallops were cooked to perfection (compliments to the chef!) .. such a scrumptious treat! I had higher expectations for the sea bass. The forbidden black rice and the coconut sauce that came with it didn't seem to have complemented the sea bass very well. But I enjoyed the sea bass on its own. Our last main entree was the prime filet. We ordered it medium rare and it was cooked to perfection; however, the smoked parsnip puree didn't complement the prime filet in my opinion. I think regular mashed potatoes would've been better.

Had breakfast here on an overcast day but the view was still very beautiful. It was a bit chilly to sit outside but the seats inside still had a nice view of the ocean. The service here was great, very friendly staff, and even got a sample of their daily juice (pineapple, honeydew, cantaloupe) which was delicious. Ordered the Daily Juice, Cazuela de Huevos (Eggs, Black Beans, Tomatillo Salsa, Cotija Cheese, Soft Tortillas | $29) and a side of Short Stack (Buttermilk Pancakes | $12). The juice was super fresh and sweet. The Cazuela de Huevos was very yummy. While the portions aren't huge, if you don't eat much for your first meal, the food could probably last you two meals. The pancakes were also really yummy. The ambience is nice with light and airy space and comfortable seating. Overall, breakfast here was a great experience and I would be back. The entrance to the restaurant is also a lovely photo spot if you are celebrating a special occasion. I haven't had dinner here personally, but I ordered the Parsnip Soup for takeout as a snack and that was great too!

This place is just ok. Came here as some friends and I were staying at the resort and we all have young children, so it was the easiest choice. We had both breakfast and an early dinner here, and the service just tends to be really slow. The food is also pretty mediocre, and the food on the kids' menu especially leaves quite a bit to be desired (all the kids refused their own meals). However, the folks working were all very friendly, and it's an easy option if you're staying on site.

Beautiful beautiful restaurant !! You can literally see the ocean from here. Came here for brunch with some girlfriends for my birthday LAST YEAR. I know, I know. It took me long enough to write this review. The food was okay. Nothing stood out to be honest. But I'm not huge on brunch so there's that. Service was slow. We kept having to remind our server for the basics: utensils, water, Etc. By the time we finally got everything we needed, our food was already cold because we were outdoors. the true star of the show is the view. Whether seated indoors with panoramic windows or on the breezy outdoor terrace, you're treated to uninterrupted vistas of the glistening ocean stretching to the horizon. I'll be back for drinks if I'm in the area because it's conveniently located at the hotel I typically stay at, but it's a hard pass on the food.

Food was amazing! The steak was on the small side and my husband was not full after. Churros did not disappoint! Friendly staff and fast service.

The view is amazing. They service was slow because it was busy. They did forget my drink and got my husbands drink incorrect. The food was ok. The chicken and waffles has dry chicken but the churro waffle was delicious. I wish they had the waffle just by itself. The lobster hash had very very dry potatoes. The lobster portion is good size.

What I like about this restaurant is the food.The food is amazing what I recommend is the chocolate chip pancakes. Also, the service was amazing. Our waiter was Alfred. he is kind and warm welcoming. This restaurant is one of the best I've ever tasted. I recommend a lot.

Located in the Waldorf Astoria in Dana Point. Aveo offers all day service. I had the pleasure to have many delicious breakfasts. For breakfast they have a la carte and also buffet style. I loved the fresh fruit, the chia pudding, bread selection and perfect omelettes. The service is very attentive. The ambience is perfect overlooking the Southern California coast.

AVEO offers one of the most stunning restaurant views on the Southern California coast. The way the hotel frames the sun and lagoon is just breathtaking. In fact, a lot about AVEO is picture perfect. Even the food looks like it was designed for Instagram. Unfortunately, in terms of taste, there is a lot of room for improvement. Of course, it may have just been a bad day, but the whole point of coming to a luxury resort hotel is to minimize bad kitchen days. The saffron rice was over salted, so much that we couldn't even eat more than one spoonful. I commend the restaurant for removing it from the bill, but it was almost intolerable. The chilean sea bass was gorgeous in presentation (see my pic). Loved the coconut sauce, and while I know the dish is supposed to be lighter fare, I wish the forbidden black rice had more flavor (perhaps steam it in coconut milk with a touch of ginger?). Not bad though. I'd consider ordering it again. Overall, while there's room for improvement, I'd come back again. Service is excellent, and again, that view is too perfect.

Food: really hated the food here. What you pay for is not what you get. The quality is abysmal for the price point and the menu is very confusing to navigate -- a bizarre mix of heavy meats, seafood, and dairy in one. The Patagonia inspired bread by the way is not anything special -- it's a damn lie and is no different than a take and bake garlic bread you can easily get at your local supermarket. Service: servers are really nice, professional, and courteous. About the only good thing in this entire experience. Ambiance: beautiful views of the property and ocean. It's a shame the food could not equal its surroundings.

Dined there yesterday with a group of 4 ladies. We first gor the calamari and it was really good. The salads were very bland, asked for extra dressing, still bland - finally asked for salt which improved it. 2 major let downs were the outdoor chairs. The cushions you sat on were filthy and stained and the wicker white chairs were dirty as well. They needed a major scrub and hose down. The carpet near the bar area was also very dirty. Very embarrassing for the Waldorf name. I called to tell the manager and he simply blew it off as being very busy with a lot of kids and spills these couple of days. The correct thing to do is close of an area and clean. He told me they will be changing some things. Unfortunately until they do, I won't be back and it's a shame as I like to take out of town guest so they can enjoy the view. Pelican Hill coliseum is much better and CLEANER

My husband and I stayed at the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach for Valentine's Day and this restaurant was one of the hotel restaurant options. We dined here for Valentine's dinner and it was very good. The staff were friendly and attentive and the host was kind enough to put the lakers game on the tv for us We felt the menu was somewhat limited though but we aren't big eaters so we opted for a few shared plates. We had the lobster tostada, pan al horno with Serrano ham and the Mexican Mac and cheese which we loved. The tostada was crisp and fresh and we really enjoyed it. The pan al horno wasn't anything special but it was nice to mix and match the different items it comes with on the fresh bread. We really liked the Mac and cheese- not overly cheesy (no cheese pulls here) but great poblano flavor and it felt surprisingly light for Mac and cheese. We had the PB dessert- it was decadent and we couldn't finish it but it was good. We came back the next day for breakfast which was delicious. We sat out on the balcony and ate with the gorgeous view in the background. I had the Huevos Rancheros and my hubby had the classic Benedict. The side of bacon was probably one of the best I've ever had! Perfectly crispy and not too salty or greasy. I would come back for another breakfast here.

Stopped by here with a party of 4 for lunch before our spa appointment. Seating available inside and outside with a view. Decent menu with a good combination of salads, sandwiches and a few entrees. Good drink options as well. The spicy margarita was great.

Service was terrible and food was definitely not worth the price. You're better off going to the ritz for breakfast and a better view for the same amount of money. Major let down

We came here for a Valentine's dinner and everything was perfect. The views overlooking the golf course and to the water, amazing. The drinks were extremely refreshing. Our server, Bruce, was extremely thorough in explaining some of the menu options which helped us decide on our meals. The final touch was the churros. Bruce told us that they were better than the ones at Disney, and they ARE. I wanted to order a second plate but it would've been over the top. My only ONLY complaint was that we never got our scallop ceviche and there was no explanation as to why. But we also weren't charged for it so it wasn't a huge deal.

Where to start... we were meeting friends for an early dinner and waited at the bar for their arrival. There was one bartender and he seemed distracted and overwhelmed. My husband asked for a beer and the bartender told him that the taps had been removed, the kegs were empty, and that the beer would have to be brought from another part of the hotel. He passed. We were greeted warmly by whom I assume to be the F&B manager or associate, and told us that when the rest of our party arrived, our table "was all set up and ready to go." When our guests arrived, we were escorted to the outside dining area and the hostess asked us "where would you like to sit?" No mention of the previous conversation with the manager. We ordered cocktails and the children in our party ordered their dinner. One guest ordered a martini. After about 15 minutes, the server returned and asked if he wanted "a regular stuffed olive or a bleu cheese stuffed olive?" We were stunned. Some time later, drinks arrived. And the cherry on top of our experience, wasn't the hotel's fault, but their follow up was dreadful. I ordered a pasta dish which was swimming in marinara sauce. There was a large clump something in the middle of the plate. I came to discover it was a ball of burrata. I used my fork to move it out of the way, and it slipped off the fork and splashed back into the sauce. Needless, the splatter ended up on my blouse. The server rushed over, apologized and then... wait for it... asked what size I wear. Stunned, I managed to eek out an answer. I was already embarrassed, but this was over the top. He arrived back at our table, and grandly presented me with a blouse, most likely from the gift shop. I tried to decline, but it was becoming a scene. The food is OK, the ambiance is OK, the sunset? 100% but not enough to endure the service.

This restaurant is very difficult not to love. It's located in the Waldorf Astoria in Dana Point. They have several restaurants in this resort hotel. This one is just a bit more casual, but definitely not on flavor or service. Our waitress Stephanie, was extremely attentive, cheerful and definitely on the ball for taking care of us Saturday night. It's summertime , so we indulged in the delicious heirloom tomato salad with burrara cheese and little lemon pearls on top. " total smack of flavor in your mouth.!" This was the quintessential salad of the summer the steak kebabs with Spanish sauce, was one of my favorites. Also, the filet mignon with perfectly cooked radishes , green beans. This restaurant has a large indoor dining area, as well as a beautiful large Terrace for dining. My recommendation would be to go as the sun is setting as there are windows throughout. There is a view of the ocean. However, it's in the distance the golf course is so lovely to look at while your dining. ( we were just talking about how enjoyable it would be to come back in the fall and sit at the bar have a glass of wine and watch a football game) it has an elegant feel, but it also has a fun and casual vibe as well.

We live nearby but haven't been there in a very long time. Our experience last night was first rate. The sea bass was delicious and beautifully prepared. The watermelon, tomato, Caprese salad with full salmon was outstanding. We will be back soon. Service was excellent as was the sunset!

Food is mediocre - if you can eat elsewhere, do so. We only eat here because we don't like to leave the resort once we check in. Also, the servers seem to have a major attitude problem and also don't care for the preferences of their guests. For instance - this morning I vocalized that I wasn't a fan of eggs and after asking for "easy on the eggs", my dish still came out with an excess of egg. That made it impossible to finish my dish and when I brought it up - the server simply replied with "I'll let the chef know." I let HER know I wasn't a fan of eggs and wanted minimal egg in my dish, why didn't she let them know that? Anyways - their food is meh. The service is - meh and the only thing they have going on is the beautiful ocean views. I've also dined here for lunch and it's been the same experience with the servers and food. I hope they start to hire friendlier servers who actually like to interact with people without having an attitude problem. I also hope their food menu improves (as well as the flavor) because sadly, as much as I dislike this place - I will continue to eat here when I stay here. I think that's why they don't care - because, regardless of their tasteless food and horrible wait staff - people will eat here.

It's a Christmas Eve dinner and we are at the bar waiting for a table. This is not a review for the food but the bar service is very slow. We waited 15 minutes until our order was taken. The bartender appears to be nice but needs help because he is running the bar by himself .

Had a delicious birthday meal and outstanding service from Yair at Aveo. He waited on us yesterday for lunch as well and was so attentive and friendly. Top notch service. Delicious food and a wonderful experience to top off our staycation weekend at the Waldorf!

This place is ok. For the price I would expect a little more than a kids sandwich, but the fries were good. Service was a little off but it was also a super late lunch so maybe they were prepping for dinner. You can't beat the views though given the location!

I came here for my birthday celebration and the hostess(can't remember her name but she was blonde) was so kind! She went out of her way to rearrange our table to we could both look out to the view. She even set up the warmer for us without us having to ask. Then, Omar was the star of the show. He was kind, attentive, and honestly the best server I've had in a long time. He made my birthday very special. Thank you Omar and team!

Food is very bad. Taste is bland on everything. I had a stomachache for 2 days. Btw, it is very expensive for the quality. Nice view. Service was ok. My advice, go somewhere else. Btw, Bourbon steak restaurant is excellent at the hotel.

Place is legit good. Hotel prices a given. arroz con mariscos is like a lighter take in paella. they gave us huge portions of seafood. pretty much 80% of the dish were seafood mixed in there. the salmon was likely the belly part which was super flavorful. This place just doesn't get enough business since it really only caters to hotel guests as it's kinda out of the way for other folks.

Needed to grab something quick for a late arrival to Dana Point and got there 10 minutes before the kitchen closed. The 2 stars are for the nice staff and outdoor seating area. Got a watermelon/heirloom tomato caprese salad and the only thing that was tasted good was the watermelon, couldn't eat the burrata it was so bad. Got the truffle fries and they just didn't taste very good and the aioli was too thick to dip properly. Very expensive hotel restaurant with good views but bad food, won't eat there again.

Beautiful views. The service is very good. Our server Dan was very attentive and nice. I would recommend this spot for breakfast. Open airy with views. The burrito was delicious and the immune smoothie (without ginger) is delicious. I also got the horchata latte with coconut milk, loved it!

The view from here is fantastic. The service was excellent. The waiter, Yair was helpful and friendly. We wanted a chocolate dessert so he brought out the birthday cake they give to people celebrating that. It was $15 for that cake. I wonder if they charge birthday people that. The Chilean bass was a recommendation from Yair and it was so tender! The Yucca fries were soft and crispy. They were so good. The only disappointment was the pan de horno queso. The bread was overdone. I won't get that one again. The birthday cake was good but not worth $15.

This is the most beautiful setting so for that and Mary the hostess, I will give AVEO a five star review. I ordered the scallop ceviche and the portion is so small for $29. I know it's expensive here and it's worth it but I think they should add to the glass and make it a full order. Just suggesting...

The service here was amazing! Our waitress Kelly was the kindest person we've ever met and treated my kids like her own. It was truly a pleasure to eat here and have such full service. It's rare these days. Ask for Kelly!!!

What an excellent and unforgettable experience! The service was wonderful (Blaze) and the hostess brought us blankets because it was chilly! The manager, Tyler, stopped by to make sure we were having a great time, and everything we needed, they provided! The views are amazing, needless to say. The food was superbly delicious! All 4 of us agreed that the sea bass was the best we had ever had. The filet mignon melts in your mouth! The chocolate dessert (I don't remember the name) was so light and satisfying. The pineapple upside down cake was ok. Overall, an amazing experience and we will definitely be back.

I Brought my husband here for his 31st birthday and we weren't disappointed. The food , ambiance and service were great!
