Stepping into Avery's is like stepping back - WAY BACK - in time! Check out the ancient cash register that still works! Delicious sodas (so many flavors) and other soda-related items for sale. Every year, I buy a few cases of delicious strawberry soda for Torrington's Juneteenth celebration - folks LOVE it! ALWAYS ASK FOR AVERY'S and you will always be satisfied!

This place is only about I mile from my house. They have great soda. There are lots of choices when it comes to the flavors, including my personal favorite, Birch Beer. The staff is friendly. They do some creative things in naming the flavors, which can be amusing at times. They can also make custom labels, which I think is awesome. I'll include photos of a couple labels I liked in particular, enough to keep and display in my garage. Five stars to this New Britain staple. You can even make your own soda... The soda is sold in two different sized bottles. You can purchase a case of assorted flavors (mix & match) which is good as well, but hey, if you want all the same flavor, you can do that too. They aim to please. I can't say enough good things about this place. 5 stars all day!

Always love coming here! It is a nice local place I take my friends to when they visit New Britain and they always love the soda. Compared to other store bought brands this soda does not have an overwhelming amount of carbonation which is a PLUS for me! They have an incredible amount of flavors and are always coming out with new stuff! Loved the 2024 election sodas, Blood Orange is a favorite LOL

Getting a little high priced for a case. Location easy to park now but missing the old Avery building atmosphere. Need better signs for first times there. Glad still around

(This review is of the old plant and old owner. I haven't been to the new location yet.) It's a soda bottling plant with a retail counter. Very informal. Everything is in glass bottles, and they have an enormous range of flavors. Some flavors were "invented" by school groups on tour. They've been here since 1904, and the atmosphere reflects that.

I have been wanting to stop in the original store for a while. I’ve always purchased their soda elsewhere, so I couldn’t pass this up. So many flavors to choose from, but I stuck with the classics; can’t be the original!

Avery's flavors are amazing. From the unusual, like dog drool, none of the above and unicorn yak, to classics, like ginger beer, cream, and root beer, they never disappoint. We've been going there for 50ish years, and my Dad introduced us to Avery's birch beer as a kid, and we fell in love. Three generations later, im taking my kids there regularly as Avery's is the only soda they enjoy. We will miss the experience of shopping in the barn and the fantastic service, and we look forward to new adventures with the new owner (and flavors, i hope)! Will honey sweetened soda become the latest family favorite? Get there - you'll enjoy the experience! JM
