The Best Golf Schools Across the U.S.

"Near San Diego, I benefited from the academy's small 3:1 student-teacher ratio and ability-grouped sessions that deliver eight hours of daily instruction covering full swing, short game, course strategy, physical fitness, and extensive video analysis on the Arnold Palmer–designed Park Hyatt Aviara course; one-day ($825), two-day ($1,525) and three-day ($1,995) programs are offered, plus customized Playing Schools ($1,195) and an Ultimate Golf Outing ($1,050) that includes instruction, lunch, and custom club fitting for driver, woods, hybrids, irons, and putter." - Brian McCallen Brian McCallen Brian McCallen is one of the top golf writers in the nation. I was little worried going into the renowned 3 day Kip Puterbaugh golf program... People fly from all of the world to do it and I was just a couple months into my golf journey and hungry to get better... I thought it would be worth spending the time to learn correctly and so I paid for and attended the academy. I was extremely satisfied despite how new and unfamiliar I was with golf. I worked with Ken Green who is quite frankly just the best. He was calm and friendly, yet persistent and demanding. Harsh at times but exactly what I needed to hear. There were certainly points where I was very frustrated, but I honestly think this was the exact kick start I needed to get my golfing journey underway. I learned more than I could have ever imagined and the structure worked phenomenally. While I was there something else that stood out to me is everybody knew Ken and rightfully so. He demands and gives respect and is a phenomenal teacher. Furthermore, Kip and his sons were also there and chimed in when I hit a good shot and also provided guidance when I didn't. I hardly write reviews, so the length of this review speaks for itself. I would 100% recommend even to beginners. Since completing the program, I have certainly caught the golf bug and have been obsessed. I still think back to the key fundamentals that Ken taught me and better understand how to self correct. Quite simply phenomenal and 100% worth the money. Course is beautiful and the food was good, but the lessons I learned I think about every single time I golf. Thank you Ken and team for an amazing experience!

Just finished up 3 day Golf Academy with Jason Puterbaugh. I'm a 7 handicap and knew if I wanted to improve I would need to make some changes. Jason was super patient with me and we worked hard to break a lot of bad habits. We changed everything from Driver, Irons, Wedges, Pitching, Chipping and Putting. They have some amazing technology to see how your measure up with Tour swings and videos from different angles so you get instant feedback. We also did lots of work on grass driving range as well. Went on the course for shots from different lies and the last day we played about 7 holes to tie together all of the things we worked on. Included with the teaching is for you to play the course after the day as part of the golf academy tuition. Jason sent video and PDF file of what we worked on and a number of tips and things for me to work on when I get home. Couldn't recommend them more. Thank you! Excited to see how my game shapes up.

I went to Kip Puterbaugh for one reason – I wanted to work with the best golf instructor I could find in San Diego County. I had played some college golf and after a 3-year hiatus during grad school, I wanted to compete in some amateur events. Kip quickly diagnosed some swing flaws and showed me videos of them. Kip was able to demonstrate the corrections I needed to make (something not all instructors are able to do) and provided me with video of my swing as compared to the game’s best. I unqualifiedly recommend Kip to anyone wanting to understand and improve their golf swing. Bill Van Dusen
