Aviator Nation Dreamland

I stumbled upon this place on my way back from Ventura. It's a cool spot! It was quiet when we went due to no live music but the ambiance was really unique. We were a little bit skeptical about the food considering it is a dive, but it was actually really good! My partner said the salmon was the best he's ever had. I got the mushroom tacos and fennel salad, which was also delicious! Would definitely recommend!

Wow Im in awe of this gem of a restaurant! It's not only our newest favorite venue to eat while here from Canada but I'm also in awe of the staff, the atmosphere, the deliciousness of every taste! This is not just a place to "eat" , you actually taste love in every morsel! Sergio greeted us everyday we visited ( we ate there 4 times in 2 days)! Thank you AN Dreamland for making our stay at Malibu Beach so memorable !

Fun venue! Great local, younger crowd. Location sits directly across the street from the Pier. There is a parking lot attached, and also paid parking across the street connected to the Pier. Great nibbles, drinks, and friendly folks. Great music and surprisingly talented folks at the first thursdays open mics.

What a unique venue with a 70’s vibe! Came here to see Paco Versailles, and had an absolutely fantastic time! Was an easy walk from the Surfrider Hotel. Food available. Can use the couches during a live performance if you commit to spending $100 (We didn’t do this- preferred to stand and dance. Plus, majority of them were pre-reserved anyway). Has a small parking lot, but folks also parked on the street (the PCH). Would love to return to see another live performance the next time we are back out this way.

Incredible food, service and atmosphere. I'D give it a 15 if I could ! Jack our waiter on the one day visit served us up 2 different meals that were absolutely fantastic! I hope to visit next time!

What a beautiful space! It gives bohemian vampire vibes lol. I know this is a music venue, but the food was killer! Hands down best grilled cheese EVER.

Love this place! Went for a country concert and an outdoor embroidery event. It was very fun. The staff is super friendly. There’s an outdoor area and the couches in the indoor area are all super welcoming and comfortable. The sound system was great. There was a space for people to watch and dance. Overall really great and fun experience!

Had a lot of fun here tonight. Fun bartender played their tunes and served up great drinks, steak and frites and shrimp tacos hit the spot. Coolest decor.

It's like stepping back to the 70's knowing you're going to have one wild of a time.... We stopped in for a quick wander after the pier. Location is amazing as it's literally right across the street from the fame Malibu pier on PCH. Right when you walk in, depending on which entrance. The whole vibe was amazing and it's a VIBE. The cool kids crew... You're greeted right straight to the bar area which obviously cocktails and they have food. We didn't have neither as it was just a quick walk through to see what this place was all about. It's an open feel but broken down to different sections. Start with the main bar area, there's the stage area, different sitting area, a back lounge room as well as the open air back patio. Not only that, there's the retail area with loads of things to choose from. The retail staff were all amazing and very friendly. Not sure what the schedule is like for the stage area. I have heard that they do have open mike but don't quote me on that. Its a cool spot if your needing to host an event or even a catch up with friends. Full bar and food is also served. Love the whole rainbow vibe and beach life. Malibu at its finest.

A friend invited me to hear a band he followed. 10 stars for the sound engineer...loud enough to sound like a concert but not to loud you couldn't hear the person next to you. We had a reserved space and our service visited form time to time at about the right intervals. After drinks and almost 2 hours of awesome music, it was time for something to eat. The wild mushroom pizza and some chicken wings (which were plump drumsticks) really hit the spot. Great place.

Vibey little place to sit and chat, with great drinks and great food. It's conveniently located across Malibu Pier. We came here around 2pm so it was nice and empty and we got a little corner area to ourselves (group of 4). Server was very attentive and nice. Overall great experience.

OUTSTANDING, uncrowded, delicious breakfast. Yum! My Latte was incredibly good. This is such a cool evening venue but don't be fooled, the food is awesome and service is great. Just come on in and sit on one of the sofas and have a lovely breakfast.

I've driven by the spot on PCH several times... I always wondered what it was cause it's got like this really cool groovy 70s/80s style logo and I was like that looks cool right... Well, I finally got the opportunity to check it out when we were visiting Malibu pier we were supposed to go to Adamson house tour, but it was so far away and dreamland was right across the street and we wanted a cocktail so we went across the street and dreamland does not disappoint. It is the epitome of cool everything I like about music is inside of there. Everything I like about just coolness is inside of there. I heart dreamland Service was amazing. They made us great cocktails I liked my husband's better than mine, but mine wasn't bad. He had a pineapple passionfruit spicy like margarita thing. It was so good and I have like this violet drink, which was delicious. His was just a little bit more delicious... they serve food we consider getting an appetizer, but we had plans to go to a winery so we had to wrap it up and get on the road... I will return. I am going to see jet on November 11. Can't wait it's gonna be a thing. Dreamland is a vibe. Is a vibe.

Have been for an open mic and a comedy show. Wow, it was so much fun! And even more of a success and highlight that we don't have to venture too far from home to visit but we still have these wonderful activities in our backyard. If you are local, you will (or should) love it! They offer food service at your table or the bar. And it is really good! We shared a pizza and it was excellent with great service too. No tude from the bouncers - just good people doing their job. Even the valet were cool. Loved everything about our experience here and we are really looking forward to returning.

We swang by for a quick drink. All the staff was super chill and attentive. The drinks were good. Nothing to complain about!

How can you be mad here? Killer food and drinks at a clothing store?! Bartenders & team are genuine, easy to chat with and dish out stellar product. Craft cocktails are actually legit. Pizza is top tier, some of the best I've had in a while outside of NYC. And the breakfast burrito is elite. Idk why anyone would sleep on this place ‍. Definitely recommend.

Wow we are in awe of this very special gem we found. We had 4 delicious meals in 2 days . Our lovely waiter Jack served us twice in one day and was so delightful ! Sergio the chef treated us to extra beautiful coffees! The meals and the service and the atmosphere has us loving Aviator Nation Dreamland and our stay in Malibu Beach from Canada has been incredibly memorable! Thank you

4 stars because the ambiance and drinks were BOMB! The only issue I had is the choice of music for one of the events they were hosting was..... interesting. It was a Woodstock '69 themed night and the bands they had playing were definitely not with that theme which assumed would be? Maybe that's my bad. Overall I do think people should check this place out but double check the bands that are going. Service was good, all the bartenders were super nice and dressed on theme!

Aviator Nation Dreamland is RAD!! I am shocked to see such a low rating. I always have the best time ever during my visits! I have attended various events here as well and they always exceed my expectations. The vibe here is so vintage, California, retro, trippy and I just some comfortable. Feels like you have entered a time machine and you are back in the 1970s or 1960s. It is such a unique venue that you just have to experience for yourself! I have visited at all times throughout the day. The colorful glass windows and the décor provide you with a vibe/day that just cannot be beat! The staff is always amazing, chill and always ready to help provide you with the best day ever. All ages should feel comfortable attending an event or visiting this spot. The store is attached to the venue where the bar/food and live music happens. The music has always been great and I have danced many nights away at this spot! What is great about right now, with the current devastation that has hit Malibu from the wildfires is that you can take the 131 bus from Santa Monica and it will drop you off right at Aviator Nation and it is only a 25 minute ride which helps you avoid the 50 minute detour if you are coming from LA. Please visit! Also the bus is free right now so there is no reason to hesitate. This place attracts a great crowd young and old and the people are always super beautiful, kind and genuine. I have yet to meet one person who wasn't approachable and friendly. I was lucky enough to go to the Fire Benefit Concert that happened a few weeks ago and the lineup of DJs was so great we had sooo much fun dancing. Special shoutout to Diplo of course and Sidepiece as well as Aluna and Poolside who all contributed in making the event incredibly enjoyable and memorable for everyone who attended. Please put it back up on YouTube it was sooo much fun Live Streaming it the next week when it was still there and then everyone wondering if they should checkout Dreamland will be absolutely motivated to!

The freshly fried chips & guac Margaritas were the perfect balance of sweet + sour. Pizzas were all delish. The space itself is gorgeous. Prices are slightly above average but you are paying for freshness and quality and it shows.

Unassuming from the outside. Amazing on the inside. Came to eat can't wait to see a performance next time! What a special place!

Came in to see our favorite bartender Eric and to hang out on a mello Tuesday night vibe. Killer mushroom pizza with drinks was nice after a long day of travel. Worth the time to come check it out. We heard they have live music on Thursday nights too!

Super relaxed vibe when you go in the morning time... a bit hectic in the evening during times when there are events, but well worth it . The food is very good and the staff is super friendly.

Decided to swing by while driving through the area. The vibe here is so chill, Natalie helped us out and was so friendly and she had incredible energy!!! Chef Satchel has an incredible vision of flavor. The breakfast burrito is one of the best I have ever had. Apparently the tortillas are made in house. The salsa verde was delightful! My friend said the grilled cheese and tomato bisque was like comfort food, but better. My wife said the carne asada tacos were yummy and refreshing. The house made California Heatwave with the house infused pineapple jalapeno tequila is AWESOME! I know that if I swing back through the area, I'll be stopping.

The bar service was quick and priced well. I didn't have any of their food. We saw Chad Smith and friends and had a blast! Perfect venue to see a show. The outdoor patio was cool and inviting. Loved the lighting.

Very eclectic location with an interior decor. Worth checking out. Food was tasty and arrived. In a timely fashion along with very friendly service. Definitely a cool spot to check out while in Malibu.

Very nice location and store was nicely decorated with nostalgic rock albums.from the 60s 70s and 80s. Nostalgic rock posters, and pictures. Staff were helpful and accommodating to the patrons. The store is more for the 20s 30s and 40s age groups. Grossly Overpriced T-shirts,sweats, jackets and other items. More for the upper class locals and elitist folks. I'll pass but still a nice store.

Rock and roll with one of my favorite clothing brands Dreamland is right off the PCH in Malibu and not only does this spot have a shop but a bar and full restaurant with dedicated music space for artists which they have frequently. Went for brunch and was amazed by the staff and retro decor! Definitely would love my place to look like this; the spot is very photogenic. Retro hippie vibes and very chill. Get a drink at the bar, have a seat and chill while you wait for some epic food brought out to you. After wandering around and chilling it's hard not to shop! Love this gem!

The entire spot is such an amazing retro vibe, guaranteed good times. But the real draw is the excellent bartenders and their incredible service. Avery in particular tend to go above and beyond-- you won't be disappointed when you spend an afternoon (or evening!) at dreamland!

excellent service and kind atmosphere here! they make the best matcha i've had in malibu, i think the barista's name was erik! soo good i had two matchas (had to take one to-go ;) ! very delicious burrito and salsa verde too, would def go again for the vibe, good music, and food :)

Aviator Nation's Dreamland in the super cool beach town of Malibu is like stepping into a time machine to the funky 70s. It's like Elvis Presley and Liberace had a wild party here! Right next to Malibu Pier, you can stuff your face with yummy food and find a parking spot without any adult-sized headaches (just don't underestimate the mega-spicy sauce that set my mouth on fire!). The Dreamland crew is nice, but the Aviator Nation clothing store employees are kinda lost in the groovy vibes of the place. The real star here is the mind-blowing lineup of concerts happening every month... for a small fee. It's like a rock 'n' roll explosion! And let's not forget the totally cute guys and girls strutting around like they just stepped out of an Abercrombie & Fitch catalog. They really know how to rock that "brand" thing! But the most epic thing about Dreamland is how it can somehow feel like your very own beach house, just a hop and a skip away from the crashing waves nearby. Just get a cocktail or food from Avaitor Nation and then walk over to take a look at the Malibu Pier for a few minutes. It's a great combo of activities. So, if you want to time travel to what you might envisions as the funkiest, coolest 70s style rockin abode, get some eats and by some yuppie clothes ..then head on over to Aviator Nation's Dreamland. It's a total blast from the past that I never got a chance to experience because I was far too young ! ;-

The ambiance is beautiful! The parking sucks but is to be expected. The service was fast and workers were nice. The food was not that great. I would recommend coming for drinks and to chill. Don't eat here

Terrible customer service. Came in to trade in a hoodie my girlfriend at the time bought me for my birthday that was too small for one size up and while we were walking around to find a new one, the rep followed us around the store with a mean look on his face the whole time like we were criminals. The whole time. In retrospect I wish I would have said something but I didn't want to start a situation in front of my girl. Granted this was 8 years ago but I'm still mad about it and wanted to post this post mortem because you still deserve that one star. Why? Because the expensive ass hoody fell apart within a year. Seams on the pockets came apart within three months and the design seams three months later and the cuffs a few after that. The seam thread was lime green and hard to match so I couldn't get it fixed but why should I pay to get a hoody fixed that was that expensive? No quality ! And I barely wore the damn thing because it was full of bad memories of being treated like a criminal. I'm a white person with blue eyes, horrified to think how he would have treaded a Latin person or a black person or an Asian or Arab or Indian or any other race. No wonder they had to start selling liquor.

Went to this place today unexpectedly. Loved it! Ordered a damn good salad (that avocado ), and did not expect to see amazing musicians play. Love my Sundays. I'll be back for sure!!

Was excited to try place. Got there 10 mins before opening. Waited around for them to open and they waited right until 11am at opening to hang a sign that says they're closed for an event. Wtf? Could have hung that sign up sooner. Thanks

Honored and excited to be the first to review Aviator Nation Dreamland! This place is truly one of a kind. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping in here. We just stumbled in after having brunch across the street at Malibu Farm Pier Cafe not knowing what to expect, but we were all pleasantly surprised by the exceptional service and top notch decor/ambience. Pictures do not do this place justice. Great drink selection and tasty food offerings. I'll be back!

What a mess of a place. They sold me a bad glass of wine and was rude about it when I brought it to their attention. Not even looking for a new glass. The girl next to me advised them to give me a new glass and I agreed and the guy behind the bar refused and said the bottle is empty anyway. Dingy customer service. For an out of towner, this place is trash because of that. I can spend my money somewhere else.

For the music lover! This spot had a great feel with plenty of good music playing. Nice spot to enjoy some good food and drinks. I'd come back again. The waiter had a personal touch and was extremely friendly.

This place is cool but the bartenders and works ruin it. I was there on saturday for an event, the bartender was so rude from the first encounter. To be clear there were 3, 1 bald female, 1 with a beard and long hair, and one w no beard. The one with no beard was so rude and clearly has no customer service experience. Idk if he was having a bad day or something but u dont take it out on customers. Youre there to work not ruin people's nights with your bad attitude.

Incredible venue! Great service! Bar food was delivered to our table and was fairly good for a venue like this. Definitely splurge and get a couch seat- you will not be disappointed.

This place is such a gem. Love that it's family friendly too. Retro vibes all the way. However, my favorite part was the perfect margaritas made by my new friend Gloria. She's the goat. Two thumbs up for this venue.

Great music venue and hip clothing selection. As to the bar staff they really know their stuff and can handle just about any mix drink you can call. The food is still being worked out and us mostly appetizer oriented. If the vision works out, this could be the next big hit in Malibu, where legends play and are made.

We had an amazing time here at this restaurant. The venue is amazing but even better is the level of service. Adriana was beyond amazing, attentive, and on point! She checked on us continuously and didn't drop the ball once. We appreciate all around service here and will definitely be back!

This place is absolutely insane. The decor is the best ever but what sets it apart is how you are treated when you walk in. We were lucky enough to meet Ziggy at the bar who is an angel. First of all she makes the best drinks ever. She obviously knows what she is doing. Yet it is her personality and kindness that really is memorable. The owners should be so happy to have someone as wonderful as her working for them. I can't wait to come back and see a show here. I wish there were more events at this paradise. Congrats for hiring such a gem of a human.

Coolest atmosphere. Fun, laid back, 70s music venue vibe. Great crowd. We had so much fun seeing Shwayze there. Love the sense of community this spot brings to Malibu. Totally lights up the area. Haven't tried the food there.

Been here multiple times for both retail and their bar- however after today's experience it will be our last. The product is decent but a little on the pricier side.Ricardo was so rude and condescending during our purchase he made it so we'll never come back. As we were checking out we noticed a stain on one of the sweat pants we were buying and simply asked to exchange for another pair that didn't have a stain. The purchase hadn't even been put into a bag yet but we just finished paying . Due to us paying for the item already (but literally not even leaving the cashiers desk) Ricardo overheard our request to switch sweats & marched up and said "too bad all sales are final" and walked away. He didn't even try and understand the situation at all. We looked at him in shock and they brought out their other manager who ultimately handled the situation professionally and finally let us exchange the pants. Our ask wasn't some ridiculous request, it was a simple practical request that could have been easily handled. Ricardo has zero customer service skills and ruined our experience. The kid needs to find a non customer facing job before he ruins other buyers experiences as well. I'm sure this wasn't his first time / last time being an inconsiderate punk.

Okay one of the coolest places around! AV is so well known by the people who like the brand, but having the coolest retro venue attached is a true original. The open mic night is a lot of fun and more than anything just to grab a cocktail and hangout . Only negative I have had is bar service can be slow. Went on Saturday late afternoon and waited so long for the bartender to finish serving only 3 guys we decided to leave. If he had at least acknowledged us we would have stuck around for the pricey cocktails. Having said that I will go back anytime for the space. Check out all the cool record albums on the stage for nostalgia fans.

Such a cool venue. Cozy, and intimate if you wanna get up close and personal with the performer, but spacious enough to escape to the bar or outdoor patio for chilling. The vibe was perfect.

Please don't buy your tickets in advance. I bought a couple of tickets a few days early. When we arrived we noticed they were charging $20 at the door, however, the prepaid tickets were $35! So... why buy early? It's like you are penalized for buying in advance! We asked them about it upon entering and they took our numbers - guess what? No one called! All they had to do was buy us a couple of drinks.. Instead they ignored us and didn't follow up. So basically the service SUCKS! Bad way to treat locals!

Great atmosphere for live music. Great interior. Superb drinks. All around fun in Malibu.

The bartender that made our drinks this past Saturday July 22nd deserves a damn AWARD her cocktails were beyond tasteful . Even her moc tail was yummy. Location is literally across from the Malibu pier so you can park eat drink and walk it off on the pier.

Cool place, but as everybody knows, all the staff here have a nasty attitude.
