They tried to charge me $150 because they had no cars in stock! I made a prepaid reservation for an SUV and was called the day I was supposed to pick it up and notified they have no vehicles in stock. I asked the employee if they could refund my reservation and he said I had to call customer service to cancel it. I called customer service and explained the situation. The call center operator then told me I had to pay the $150 "no show" fee due to the cancellation being within 24hrs of the reservation. I had to escalate to a manager to get a solution. Absolutely ludicrous. The fact that they'll charge $150 no show fee but don't hold a vehicle per reservation to ensure they actually have a vehicle is insane! Also, it's silly that I can make a reservation when the lot has no stock. The lot employee told me he had been out of stock for the past 3 days! I will NEVER rent from AVIS Budget Group again.

I had a major emergency my car I just bought 2 days before this happened broke down and I was 150 miles from home my warranty will fix my car but I needed a rental to get back home and back to MBS airport Monday. The guy who took my reservation lied straight to me to get our reservation he charged me a 75$ deposit and then told us that the remaining balance was to be paid when I drop the car off after I ask 3 times if that was the total amount I needed and 3 times the guy told us yes that's right everything is correct head over and pick up ur rental. Well we get over to MBS airport and had our paperwork and confirmation and everything and Avis there would not honor the agreement and said that he lied to us they didn't even have the car I was told I would be getting. But then not only to add insult to injury I called him back direct and he and the people at Avis treat us like we were stupid and they told us they wouldn't help in any way and we should be a little smarter because the rental info is supposedly common knowledge. So then I was stranded by the airport til I could find some one to come pick us up and then have to spend money on a hotel room it was uncalled for and rude And ridiculous... Beware Renting a car through AVIS they are thiefs and could care less about their busines. It cost me a lot more than it should have I had to have a hotel room for the night thern also pay for someone to drive down to Bay City MICHIGAN from Lovells Michigan pick us up and take us back north and because my car is down there when it's fixed instead of driving my self down in the rental car I was supposed to have back down their I have to pay more money to get back not a good company at all

I love Avis. Staff was quick to get me situated with my rental. No attitudes,and no rudeness. This time, they gave me a 2025 Toyota Camery Hybrid. That car was smaller than my impala on the outside, but larger than my on the inside, go figure. And it only took $70 round trip from Michigan to Tennessee and back. I'm thinking about buying it. Thanks, Avis.

Rented a car and returned it almost 2 weeks ago. They took a $250 deposit and never returned it. Every time I call, which I've called 7 times now, they push the deadline further and further back. First it was 5 business day after the return of the rental, then it was 2 weeks, then it was a month. The deposit charge disappeared off of my bank statement and my bank is saying the transaction never occurred. Now no one know where the money is at and I can't connect to an American or higher rep to solve this issue, it's always a foreigner that says the same scripted stuff and the issue is never resolved. I'm now going to sue this company for the deposit+fees and anything else I can. I'm sure I'll get the same generic response without a solution to my review, but it sure won't stop the lawsuit. I also got a $13 mystery charge with the car being returned with a full tank and in immaculate shape.

The Avis at MBS (Midland Bay City Saginaw) was the best I’ve ever encountered. They did literally everything they could to make sure I was happy. The car was xtra large, clean and new. I had a problem at the end of my rental—I was absentminded and lost my keys, and the representative Brittany went out of her way to make sure the car was returned for me. Who does that!!? Nice, caring, hard working people do. I don’t go to MBS very often but will remember this extraordinary customer service.

Watch out for this location using cancelled reservations as a current reservation without any notification. Happened to me and cost me more than twice what it should have. Corporate or this location were not able to help at all. Done doing business here.

Unbelievable! I've rented with Avis for at least 20 years and my employer has used Avis as a preferred vendor. I will be reporting my latest experiences to my employer and asking they reconsider their future affiliation with this company. I had 2 rentals in the past month. The first one they didn't have a vehicle for me at the time I had reserved. I received a call saying they would call back when a vehicle was available. They didn't call back and I couldn't get a representative on the phone from the MBS location, so I got a ride there 3 hours after my pickup time and they found a vehicle for me but didn't adjust my return time accordingly. When I did return it with a full tank of fuel, they charged me a fuel surcharge anyhow. The 2nd rental was reserved in early February for pickup on March 28th. I received a call on March 25th saying they would not have a vehicle for me at all. No upgrade, nothing and I would have to contact customer service to cancel my reservation and get a refund. This used to be a reliable company, but something has changed for the worse and I will not be using Avis going forward.
