Nice little nook in Hydra for a swim. The beach is pebbles so if you have water shoes bring them. The water is clear and beautiful. It’s public beach. No charge but also no chairs or facilities. If you are coming to hydra for a day trip you can spend som time here to take a dip! There is a gate blocking you from walking down the mountain(cliff). It didn’t stop people from climbing over. Not for people with mobility issues or if you are scared of walking down rocky steps. Short 5-7 min walk from the cruise or ferry stop.

⚠️ Swim at your own risk and take your own trash with you
Truly the best beach on the island with both a swim platforms and a walk in beach area.
The water is as clear as it gets and there is plenty of space for everyone.
It’s closed due to falling rocks so it’s really not suggested to access but you can go around the fence as accept responsibility.

I love this beach so much! The scenery, the view, it's close to town (few minutes walking), only thing to notice that the door to the path heading down is now closed and you have to bypass a small rocky fence but otherwise, my top!

Very nice beach. Too bad it’s closed. They should have a clean up and make the beach officially safe. I did not see any unstable rocks or falling rocks. The beach is not a sand beach but more like a stone beach. Many nice places to jump from or dive. Went to the island for 6 days and went to this beach 4 of those days. Very enjoyable.

Beautiful beach.
It's been officially closed for 18 months due to a rock slide but the locked gate doesn't stop plenty of swimmers jumping the low wall and taking the steps to the lovely swimming spot.
Wear your swimming shoes, those pebbles hurt 😂

At a distance of 800 meters from the port of Hydra is the avlaki beach. In a natural bay (hydra bay).Beautiful small beach with pebbles, turquoise waters and concrete slabs on the rocks for sunbathing. It is about 10 minutes walk from the port of Hydra and in the evening it is illuminated offering a wonderful spectacle. Is not suitable for people with disabilities because access is by several steps. It is the nearest beach that you do not have to jump from a rock to find yourself in the sea. You will need to have protection from the sun and water with you. The nearest restaurants for food and drink are 100 meters away heading to the village of Kamini.

Beautiful small bay with a small beach and two concrete platforms reached by steps. Currently (October 2023) the access is closed due to falling rocks. However, there is an accurate opening cut into the fence, so you can swim there at your own risk. No idea if police will drive you away from there.

Bring beach clogs!!! It's lovely but boy oh boy those rocks hurt your feet. There's plenty of fish in the water to look at so bring goggles too. I spent hours with my hands on coral covered rocks trying to pet an ornate wrass. Theres 0 sand. There's some bits of rubbish and glass, but not much. Please be careful! 🥺
