Avoca Beach House Restaurant & Bar

We celebrated a 60th here with family. The food was so good I would be back for more any day. The staff were so professional and plates got cleared away instantly. The cocktails were yummy 😋 😍. Book and you will not be disappointed 😋 😉

Came to the restaurant on Boxing Day and had the loveliest service from start to finish. They accommodated moving my booking time to slightly earlier (thank you!). Great selection of cocktails/drinks, fantastic heart warming soul food, good portions and something for everyone on the menu. Beautiful views overlooking Avoca Beach.

Great location, however the building itself externally looked very run down on approach. It was my partners B'dauy lunch and this was noted when booking but no mention was made by staff, who in entirety didnt seem very well trained, more glorified meal runners. We had the signature seafood platter, however seafood was average (hot was better than cold) we were served mussels that hadnt opened and for $172 you would think that they would give you $2 of hot chips to go with the dish. The cocktails we ordered were extremely average to the point where I didnt even finish my long Island Iced Tea as it wasnt nice, which is a fairly big issue with a fairly basic run of the mill coctail. Overall disapointing and I wouldnt recomend or return.

We attended ABH on our date night for the first time and it was perfect. I stroll along the beach as we were early and then made it inside to very welcoming staff. The food and the view were perfect. We ordered some entrees and shared a Sunday Roast.. All were faultless. We will definitely be returning to this little gem.

We went on Sunday for my hubby's birthday, he and my daughter shared the signature seafood platter and I had the chicken supreme. We also enjoyed a selection of cocktails. Food was amazing, the service was fantastic and friendly, and you can't get much better view wise. We will definitely be back , highly recommend.

Lunch for 4 adults on a Thursday. Great service (Thx Lucy). Fantastic location and view from our table on the deck. BUT 1. $80 upfront fee to reserve a table for lunch (it wasn’t busy). 2. 1.26% card fee on a $500 bill (OTT) 3. I hope Lucy got the $50 tip (which apparently ALL staff share. Hmmmm) 4. I had the “Monk fish” which was awful - I ate 1/2. I’ve been unwell ever since - spent last 48 hours in loo 🥴. The menu is not up to the restaurants location and staff, and each of our meals was not up to scratch. Perhaps you have diff chiefs throughout week? Worst food I’ve had here by far.

Loved it! The staff is super friendly and made our cocktails just the way we wanted. Talented team with great quality fresh local seafood. The seafood platters and other dishes are delicious and generous. They prices are lot reasonable in comparison to many places we have visited as we love our seafood.

Dinner was beautifully prepared, presented, it was fresh and very tasty. The chef also took extra care to cater for my food allergies. While the servers were so polite and highly attentive to all our needs. Highly recommend this restaurant 👌
