Decent alternative spot if your kids are bored with the neighborhood parks or jungle gyms.
Avocado lake offers fishing, RV parking, swimming, and picnicking spots. I don't believe overnight camping is allowed, but you can book one of their grilling and table areas for your party. The lake itself is small and only allows "earth boats" on the water. I have no idea what an earth boat is, maybe it's just a hollowed out log?
There is a "beach" area for swimming and suntanning, but the water sadly had a lot of trash in it and wasn't very inviting, even with the 100'+ temps during our visit. This lake/park area has two jungle gym play areas for the kiddos and a few older soccer goals with no nets.
The cost is only $5 to enter and $40 for an annual pass. Currently, they're open until 10pm for the summer, but close at 7pm starting on October 1st for the winter season.
