Avonmore House B&B

Our stay at Avonmore was 5 stars. Mary and John are the two nicest people you will meet. Upon checking in Mary immediately gave us the lay of the land of Youghal, providing a map and information about the history of the town. They serve made to order breakfast every morning and John makes fresh brown bread that is hot and delicious (best we had on our trip). We felt John and Mary went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, welcoming, and beyond stress free by offering to drive us to the church in town to attend our friends wedding. Would 100% stay at Avonmore again if we return to Youghal.

I can't put into words how much I love Avonmore House. My mother and I stayed there for three nights and we had such a wonderful time. The hospitality, the food, and the overall atmosphere was immaculate. John and Mary were such wonderful hosts. They really take the time to look after their guests and will always go out of their way to help their guests with anything they might need whether it be directions, historical sites to visit in the town, and bus routes. They even offered to drive us to our bus stop which was so lovely and kind of them to do. The whole vintage vibe of Avonmore House was gorgeous too! As a vintage lover myself, I loved the classic Old Hollywood aesthetic, especially the Laurel and Hardy memorabilia found throughout the B&B. Also the classic movie playlist featuring Bing Crosby, Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra, etc. that played at breakfast was amazing too and was so relaxing. John is an amazing cook and I loved the freshly baked sourdough bread so much! If you enjoy homey cosy B&Bs, I cannot recommend Avonmore House enough! One of my new favourite places and I will definitely be returning in the future! I miss it already.

Absolutely beautiful guesthouse with the most wonderful hosts. Rooms were so spacious, beds super comfortable and breakfasts were out of this world! |Lots of places to visit and see on the doorstep…..couldn’t recommend this place any more! |Every day you get to choose your breakfast from their menu…..something for everyone. The sourdough bread and traditional soda bread are baked fresh by John every day. I would highly recommend getting the breakfast included! Very personal and warm hosts. Mary and John are exceptionally welcoming and also light hearted. |John's a very talented cook and quality, menu and flavors of the breakfast was excellent.|Our first time exploring East Cork and Youghal and all it had to offer.|Excellent short break.

Thank you Mary & John for a last minute stay due to unfortunate circumstances. The guest house is beautiful, the room we stayed in had a lovely clean home from home feel with everything you need from tv, hair dryer, mini fridge to table & chairs to go through the next route on the map. The beds were extremely comfy, we slept like logs and the power shower worked wonders to help wake us up the next morning! Mary you were so welcoming, kind & friendly (as was your sidekick in the kitchen) and John you have poached eggs down to a fine art, the whole breakfast was delicious and set us up for the day. This guesthouse is in an excellent location and the house itself is lovely and restful. Our room had every amenity and comfort. We would definitely stay again if in the area.
