Away Chiang Mai Thapae Resort

The stay was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The staff were outstanding, extremely friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with anything we needed. Their hospitality truly made us feel welcome and well taken care of throughout our visit. The room itself was spacious and beautifully designed, with high-quality furnishings and plenty of light. The bathroom was equally impressive, massive in size with modern amenities, a luxurious shower, and everything kept impeccably clean. One of the highlights was definitely the private jacuzzi on the balcony. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind while enjoying the view. Whether it was soaking in the hot water at night under the stars or enjoying a quiet morning dip, it made the whole experience feel extra special. Overall, this was one of the most memorable and comfortable stays we've ever had, and we wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend it to others.

Lovely vegan boutique hotel in Chiang Mai. The rooms are quite spacious and tastefully decorated. Robes and slippers are provided. Vegan buffet breakfast is tasty, and the menu changes daily. Facilities such as pool, gym, and spa are good. Only downside - room 101’s bathroom has a distinct drainage smell.

We loved our stay at Away. The plant based meals were incredible. It made our holiday so much easier and more enjoyable, not having to pick and choose from a generic buffet. Our room by the pool was excellent. The location is nice and quiet and not too far from the east gate.

Staying here at the Away Chiang Mai Resort was absolutely amazing! Staff was amazing, friendly, and attentive! Room was clean when arrived! Check in and out was the most smoothest process ever out of all the hotels I stayed in the past! Plus the location of the hotel was central to old town! Positive We stayed at Away Resort Chiang Mai for four nights and were overall very happy with our experience. The price was fair, and we stayed in the newer part of the hotel, where the rooms were absolutely beautiful, clean, and modern. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the room included a nice balcony, which added a relaxing touch. The staff were outstanding—very kind, helpful, and attentive throughout our stay. Overall, the atmosphere felt calm, stylish, and well-maintained. ⸻ Negative While the room itself was great, the view from the balcony was disappointing, as it faced a large electrical pole, which took away from the otherwise pleasant vibe. Also, one of the biggest downsides was the breakfast. It was vegan, which can definitely be great when done well—but in this case, it was very minimal and quite disappointing. We felt that even those who prefer vegan food would have expected something more thoughtful and satisfying. Also, the soaps provided had a really unpleasant smell. The shampoo, hand soap, and body wash all seemed to be the exact same product—just repackaged and all had an unpleasant scent—which made it feel cheap and added to the disappointment.

We enjoyed this stay. The location was fantastic for visiting the night bazaar and generally very convenient. The service was great and our rooms was very nice. The breakfast was very good for vegans, but non-vegans and kids might wish for wider selection.

We had a wonderful stay at your hotel in Chiang Mai. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warmth and professionalism of the staff. The hotel itself is beautiful—clean, modern, and very well-maintained—with excellent facilities that made our stay comfortable. We’d also like to express our gratitude to the amazing team in the breakfast area—every morning was a pleasure thanks to their friendly service and attention to detail. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

We had the best stay at Away. We stayed five nights, ate at the restaurant multiple times, had a massage at the spa and used the pool. Staff: The staff was definitely the highlight. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and they remembered us quickly. Even the security guard was a sweetheart. Room: Stunning. We stayed in the new spa building in a balcony jacuzzi room (finished jan 2025) and the room was so clean and comfortable, there was bath bombs at the front desk for the jacuzzi, lots of storage, all the amenities you could need. Food: The restaurant was amazing, huge menu for western food and huge menu for Thai food. The staff was great about my partners nut allergy - the chef came out to confirm all the dishes and what could be adjusted and what couldn’t. Buffet breakfast was varied with the hot meals changing every day (western and thai), I enjoyed waffles, overnight oats, focaccia and lots of fresh fruit every morning. Everything 100% vegan of course. Atmosphere: The hotel was green and spacious and clean and the furniture is all beautiful (especially in the new building). It really felt like a calm oasis. Spa: We booked a Thai massage and an aromatherapy massage. There’s one spa room with two beds so we could be together. Both of us really enjoyed our massage and they gave us tea and were very good about asking about pressure and problem areas etc. Location: We thought this was a compromise but it’s actually so close to the gate of the city! We easily walked to many places and took a grab if not (which rarely showed up later than 5minutes after ordering)
